I think that it will be slightly Killer-sided if anything. I do suspect it'll be pretty fair.
Survivors had their infinite heal med-kits, fast heal med-kits, infinite self-heal CoH and DH mega-nerfed.
Killers got Overbrine nuked and PR side-graded.
I would suspect that the meta will look something like 2018 DBD. Resi, SB/Lithe, Adrenaline and a perk of your choice as Survivor. Corrupt, Deadlock, PR and a perk of your choice for Killer.
also overcharge got nuked as well...not sure if pain res will be used as much(not sure why it is still a scourge hook anymore just like ruin really doesn't deserve to be a hex anymore)
it will probably more sloppy butcher/franklins demise if anything
circle of healing is still strong and setting up a safe zone shouldnt be to hard and medkits can still be used with built to last/streetwise efficiently enough
i am honestly excited to see how this changes the game meta ^_^

8 hooks per game, 2 kills. Maps like macmillan with A-tier killers, not S. Tunneling only when necessary, but still doing some minor targetting (just not hard tunneling for kills).

Will just say a lot of those are not quality of life changes but changes that affect gameplay themselves - things like hooks not permanently breaking for example, these are things that are in the game for balance, not quality of life.
A quality of life change are things like colour blind mode, the visual terror radius etc.
with all due respect they are not game balance decisions if you play enough...
4 survivors staying slugged for four minutes without any way to speed up the bleedout timer when a killer refuses to hook is game balance?
ok so when you cant hook a survivor because there are no hooks anywhere close that is a balance decision like in midwich or downstairs in the game(even more fun when they bring boil over)?
to add to that point how is it fair game balance when a survivor can get unhooked in endgame and the killer can do nothing to down the survivor if the hook is too close to the exit gate? even worse when that is the only hook in the area due to bad rng?
survivors not doing objectives (and even worse in larger maps) walking around when there are only 2 survivors left is game balance?
how is the shrine of secrets only refreshing once a week good game balance(keeping new players from getting perks they still have to grind shards so that isnt even the issue)
bad map designs...heck even the devs make fun of how bad cowshed is but it hasn't been changed at all? knights new realm, garden of joy, springwood, etc. i mean good for survivors but woe is the killer on most of these maps... honestly the only balanced maps are wreckers yard and the mcmillan maps
i would love to hear your thoughts on how these are not quality of life changes? i notice i put a lot of killer related qol changes but that is because survivor is actually in a good spot right now...heck us solo queue survivors even get more information with visual terror radius and the hud

... mhhhm. You say you play her as a chase killer. - Which anyone is free to do; playing any killer as a chase killer. - But I don't think every killer is suitable for that playstyle / will have the best results with that playstyle.
To me, it seems her optimal playstyle is much more "lore accurate", meaning going for semi-stealth surprise attacks that are predictable for skully but unpredictable for survs. Or at least that's the pattern I have observed;
We regularly get 4k-ed by a methodical Skully who sets up their drones for stealth+surprise hits (aka free hits) and has the makro game down. They rarely really commit to chases longer than a few seconds / only commit if they know the surv is easy to zone / they got a good speed boost. If they're good enough at that, resources are depleted before the last gen pops and from there it's just picking us off one by one (granted; we usually don't sweat our butts off. A full meta squad might have relatively little trouble with that playstyle due to max efficiency gens and self-reset options).
On the other hand; chasing Skully is indeed like most M1 killers - just that you have to expect that you're more likely to have one health state. Either because you get exposed at some point or because you give her a free-ish hit to avoid getting exposed and getting to a different loop. How those matches go mostly depends on the resources on the map and how well we manage to utilise them. But still; 4k rarely happens. [I'm excluding 3-genning-skully here because that's probably dead with the next patch.]
Now, I don't really like the "lurking stealth surprise attack" playstyle - mostly because it's not particularly interactive. So I wouldn't mind her being changed into a chaser --- but if she is changed into a chaser (which I doubt will happen) then her stealthing ability would have to be drastically reduced. (Otherwise she'd more or less become the equivalent of a windstorm-clapper Wraith who doesn't need to uncloak..... but basekit.)
TL;DR: If she's supposed to be good in chase then it's not a "buff" that's needed but a rework.
yeah it is the 3 gen style which i am getting away from to get used to it since regression perks are going to be nailed hard in the next patch(the variation i play is using shotgun speakers with adi valenti making an impossible skill checks/chase variation)...i use her drones in chase with the addons that either cause exhaustion or hindered or the one that gives her haste and that seems to work well just that those addons are the more expensive bp addons
-
do you really run into her that much?

The most fair map in DBD is Wreckers yard.
- The map is small.
- The tiles are not super crazy linked (which makes Coal Tower unfair).
- The pallets are strong but there are not many pallets.
- The main building is not complete BS (but then again "shack" is the main building).
- Most of the generator locations can be a viable 3 gen for M1 killers.
When you look at a lot of the maps they lead to a 3 gen or gtfo style of play. Dead dog and Azarov's are maps where the killer has already lost the game if the three gen setup is broken.
Garden of Joy has the most broken building in the entire game with 3 completely BS windows - only one should be open. Badham is an honorable mention with a BS main building too.
Large maps are just outright completely stupid. You will chase one person and everyone else is safe off in a corner on a generator. But on small maps (like we had on game launch) you run into people during chases. So you chase one person and interrupt another person mid chase.
Large maps also have stupid travel time from one side of the map to the other - meaning you have zero chance to guard generators across the map. Generally speaking most large maps are by default : 3 Gen or GTFO maps.
Then we have maps like "The Game" where you have 25 pallets for no real reason. Survivors send themselves to this map because it's a killer sided map right (/sarcasm)? They send themselves to that map because they know it will be a favorable chance for them to win.
By Comparison Hawkins was a pretty fair map. The map had a fair number of pallets but most of them were "unsafe". That is to say the killer had the ability to mind game the pallet. Most pallets in DBD now are : you have to break this or the chase is over.
Father Campbell's Chapel used to be a fair map and now it isn't. Why? They removed the 3 gen from the carnival side. Remember that for a map to be fair the killer needs multiple locations where the killer has the potential to hold a 3 gen setup. Overall this map has always been problematic because the Shack is almost always connected to a single/double gym that usually creates a near infinite loop when you get both. The middle can be a death trap or a near infinite depending on RNG.
wreckers yard is what all dbd maps should be like and let skill determine the winner

Why would I go for chases? Nothing changes from the killer side except that Gen regression and gen kicking no longer exist.
Long Heals "didn't feel good" so it won't be part of the patch but all the gen regression is getting deleted.
Medkits are getting nerfed, CoH is getting obliterated and DH won't be an issue until people get unhooks. But to compensate for that you don't get any ability to reduce generator progress in a meaningful way.
That means the only real value is getting one person out of the game. You will see "more" proxy camping and tunneling (assuming more is even possible).
"more corrupt/no way out/deadlocked/sloppy butcher builds"
Corrupt is kinda dumb after the nerf because you lose the perk on the first down. Deadlock will not become common because it has never been in the shrine. However DL+NWO will likely be meta to the point that it will get nerfed next because nothing else even comes close.
Sloppy is dangerous because you want them to heal. If they dont heal then they just blast the gens.
Without some new perk that is like : you cant work gens while hurt you are playing with fire if they dont heal and instead just blast the generators.
the other options i see are a pure chase build with lethal pursuer/dead lock/spirit fury/enduring and trying to get a person out as soon as the game begins
that is why i am saying survivors still have the advantage...it is 4 vs 1 as long as the killer allows it
i know you say why go for more chases but you won't be able to defend gens with the new patch as well so you want to get a survivor out as soon as possible and a chase build is the most effective way of doing that...or playing bubba

I played two matches today and both were marked by abhorrent bullying by the survivors, I simply couldn't bother playing any further after this.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9OABVK7J2XUR/1.jpg
The matchmaking and map design were so blatantly survivor sided that it took me four gens to secure my first hook. With no other option but to camp I kept hooktrading just to end up with a 1K anyway. It was an extremely onesided experience and to make matters worse they verbally abused me for being unable to compete against these sort of odds.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VGGBTU62YGML/2.jpg
Another unwinnable match, once again the survivors were playing like a sweat-hitsquad while I was struggling to down anyone. Circle of Healing completely nullified any damage I put out. In the end Nancy even had the audacity to ask me if I feel ashamed for losing to the survivors. It's absolutely abhorrent how survivors like these full-knowingly abuse their role to bully killer players with.
The game is extremely survivor sided in its current state and bullysquads know it damn well. They show no remorse when it comes to exploiting their busted role.
They revel in harassing and insulting the killer while a simple m1 killer player like me can do NOTHING to stop their relentless assault on my sanity. Dead by Daylight is a bully simulator and nothing else.
not sure that 2nd group is jane was going 4 her adept and they didnt havw op addons...end game chat doesnt make them a bully squad

-"BHVR has to balance around all MMRs."
I've been saying that for years. But you have to remember what Mclean said about the Marth experiments : "we weren't trying to make a balanced game."
That tells you a lot but the reality is that they can't balance high tier play because they can neither play at that level nor really understand it.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3384376#Comment_3384376
You're missing a huge piece of the puzzle here. Chases are "fine" when every member of your SWF has DH and it's active on game start if you get hurt. That goes away with the patch. Chases are going to be shorter and require pallet use much sooner. Even the good players aren't really thinking about how this will change the game.
You can take the most stalwart 10,000 hour player and they have limited options if they have no pallets to work with. Sometimes a 10,000 hour player makes something out of nothing. But your 3000 hour player or less is just "down."
Gen regression is 100% dead. It only works in aggregate. CoB pre nerf only saved you 15 seconds if it was allowed to go for 60 seconds. It's going to save 4 seconds now. Nobody is going to say well this perk is fine with 11/15 seconds of its effect removed.
Overcharge is also 100% dead. Pain Res is likewise Dead. People are saying they will just use Jolt. Jolt was a great combo with multiple Pain Res hooks - that's not gonna happen and you will see that Jolt by itself does nothing.
If this patch happens DBD will become a game where : nobody heals and the generators always get powered. Tunneling remains high. Slugging goes up. Instead of the killers needing gen regression perks - survivors will need both healing perks AND generator rush perks AND exhaustion perks.
Killers will bring Sloppy Butcher - and then what? We know it won't be gen slowdown.
but killers will be in more chases theroretically to make sure everyone stays injured...and i see a lot more corrupt/no way out/deadlocked/sloppy butcher builds

If you're good you're supposed to get at least 3k every match. Before genrush was a problem I never tunneled/camped, all matches 4k. Now also if I play well and I don't tunnel, I find myself with lots of hooks, but 1k max 2k.
why do you still try to 12 hook if your win stats went down so much?

It's not that easy and I could say survivors wins because killers mistakes. I face mostly blight, nurse, spirit, wesker, nemesis and maybe knight. You can't just mindlessly pre drop pallets agains't these killers you have to play well mindgame and just outplay them. Well knight counterplay is to hold W but others nope.
Usually im the one who gives my team fighting chance looping these killers. When im not chased I do unhooks and gens sometimes peacefully sometimes not but this game is 4vs1 so killer can't pressure whole team always.
yeah the only reason i say hold w and predrop pallets is that is the minimum requirement to extend chases at lower levels...now if the survivors took the time to learn to loop then it is even harder for the killer.
i would put artist, dredge, and skull merchant along with the knight in run to the next loop to avoid mindgames
that is it exactly playing killer is 1 vs 4 and playing solo survivor is usually 1 vs 4 but with additional help depending on your teammates. it is certainly more stressful and harder to play killer because you receive no additional help which is why survivor will usually be ez mode...last night i played with some very good solo players who knew how to loop and rush gens efficiently (some where even doing no perk challenges or didn't bring any addons)

Since you clearly have no clue as to what you wrote yourself, here let me quote yourself to you :)
heck even overzealous is getting a buff and you don't have to waste time healing...i guarantee your matches are going to be much shorter with the new changes and the nerfing of gen regression perks on the killer side. slap on a resilience/overzealous/stake out/fogwise with a good toolbox and you will still be able to listen to music and chill
You want to compare one of the worst killers to the best, just because you think that will get your point across, or make your "argument" have any weight to it? How often does the average player even face a Trapper? Most of my games are against Nurses, Blights and Weskers and an occasional Spirit to spice things up. You try to get skill-checks and save up your auto-didact while S-tier killer or heck even B-tier destroy your team with the thorough healing nefs :)
BTW, once again, I never stated that EITHER role is better or ez mode in comparison to one another. You did.
using your mmr doesn't make my point any less valid ^_^ good for you that you only face higher tier killers...i am going with the released killer pick ratios that are provided.
so autoditact works differently to heal vs other killers? no it doesn't it will still be the same healing time...if you are healing within the killers radius and get found then yeah you deserve to get downed for not using common sense and finding a safe spot to heal.
yes i did state surivor is ez mode compared to killer that is my opinion...you asked me for my gameplay to prove it and i said you can show me your gameplay to prove killer is ez mode compared to survivor

CoB/Overcharge stacking. I don’t think this is an issue at all.
Myers Tombstone. This is more of a meme build than anything. You wouldn’t actually run this if you were just trying to have the best chance of winning. Since you’re apply zero pressure and taking extra long to hit t3 against even decent survivors the gates will be powered by then unless they’re just playing bad. Not an issue.
That’s probably the only 2.
fair enough...the stacking won't be a major deal anymore with the newest patch and i always thought scratch mirror myers was more of a meme build ^_^
I thought of two others...wesker being punished if he throws a survivor and the survivor doesn't hit an object and deadlock not being available in the shrine for beginner players still.

No, but it will massively impact the casual teams. Meaning a large portion of the playerbase will be suffering, leading either to them leaving the game (as well as a very large portion of BHVR's revenue) or serious changes being made that still don't impact the best swf teams.
i honestly dont think bhvr knows how to nerf swf in any way that also doesn't affect solo queue

Show me your soloQ gameplay if it's that easy.
show me your solo queue gen rush build where it isn't ez? i dont think i ever mentioned solo queue anywhere but when i play solo you are going to see a gen rush build of me holding m1.
i mean all you are going to see in my build is a commodius with bnp/charge addons stakeout/fogwise/resilience/prove thyself or windows right now because if i am not getting chased i am finishing my objectives. if i get unhooked i am going right back to a gen and applying pressure and if a killer chases me hold w and pre drop pallets then comp corner. if everyone else is efficient on gens we are getting out of there...killers only win based on survivors mistakes it is a 4 vs 1 game its not hard
with the new changes what else are you doing in the match? totems/chests/bodyblocking/sabotaging/blinding and especially healing are all wastes of time if you are not efficient as a survivor you deserve to lose...killers can't magically hit all 4 survivors spread out on different gens at the same time

Playing this map incorrectly is in some ways like bringing a sniper rifle to a battle royale map with sight lines better suited for shotguns.
If you could turn my DBD knowledge into perfect AI replications : 4 copies of me as survivor would beat killer me on Abattoir - because I don't play Nurse or Blight. I don't feel those two killers that work should be the measuring stick of balance but in many ways they are.
When you consider every other farm map - I could get stomped by 4 copies of a friend of mine who is much worse at the game than I am.
the farm maps are the most unbalanced maps in the game...the way the rng tiles can chain (especially shack into jungle gym into cow tree) are disgusting

You're literally countering your own initial post. Everyone gets pitted with randoms, players of different mmr, ping, and so on, not just you.
Besides, you're the one going on a tangent and "guaranteeing" that playing survivor will be easy mode, if you're so full of it, how about you prove it, without whining about the most basic nonsensical mechanics everyone faces.
I'm not the one here calling playing survivor gg ez, you are. And you're utterly hilarious if you think that putting on Autodidact is always going to help you/guarantee you of X amount of skillchecks. None of that does jacksh*t against Nurse, Blight and Spirit.
not much does against the s tier killers correct but against the rest of the "viable" killers really? with a straight face you say a nurse game is going to be as hard as a game vs a trapper?
i never guaranteed anything anywhere in my post...i just said survior is still going to be ez mode even with all the rng elements (unless you want to argue somehow that killer is ez mode you can state your facts as well). it is my opinion and i wanted to discuss why people are whining about taking one or two perks to counteract the healing nerfs.
autodictact stacks and you don't lose the bonus...longer healing time means more skill checks which means you get the efficiency from the perk in 1 to 2 heals go test it out. there is also botany knowledge or inner healing for quick heals none of this changed.
if i am full of it because i gave my opinion (since obviously i am the only one with an opinion ^_^) then sure guilty as charged. i would counter argue that you can easily prove it to me that killer is ez mode with your gameplay.

i actually see a new gen regress meta of either corrupt/deadlocked/no way out/sloppy butcher or a full anti heal build sloppy/coul/pentimento/thana depending on the killer

How about less talk and actual proof, yea? Play and record 30 games of you only playing on SoloQ and let's see how gg ez it is.
not sure what accurate data that would provide since i would be rolling the dice with every game since you know random...i could get 3 other comp level survivors or 3 "i just bought the game today" survivors...play swf there are always posts looking for people on xbox not sure about other systems
you can prove to me how gen efficient you are or what do you do during the match? if you arent in chase you should be on a gen right?
all you need to run for this new patch is autoditact (2 skill check hits is the same as old healing) or botany knowledge for the 50 percent heal increase...med kits are still good for 1 full quick heal and with built to last/streetwise another one

I am seeking advice from experienced killers to indeed "git gud." Well, better.
I have under 4k kills and I've been playing killer maybe for 8 months or so. I truly don't know if this is good or average or low on the DBD scale..but the survs I face feel like very good, experienced (mostly) SWFs.
I was a Trapper main, but the teams started being too difficult with his current setup and so I switched to maining Plague months ago. She brings me more success, and I just love her.. but my teams are so good. It gets very stressful...
So I had a couple questions I hope maybe people can weigh in on...
-Is it pointless to use corrupt when using lethal?
I'm very sad to see scourge getting a change, as I typically run it w jolt...most good killers at this point, just say to tunnel..or camp...I don't like having to rely on this, I want to play...and have some kind of fun doing so...
I very much struggle at Ormond w Plague, for whatever reason, i've praticed on bots and for some reason in real matches, the entity brings me there almost every match (if survivors dont)..I have a hard time outplaying survivors there, because the map is just so big...any good tips for being able to have a successful Plague match there..without losing 3 gens during first chase? sigh it's very frustrating.
Thanks ahead of time for anyone who can provide positive tips or feedback!
everybody made good points here(i will try not to repeat other advice)...use corrupt only since it helps on every map and don't pair it with lethal and use one of her aura reading addons instead.
you can also try running thana with dying light which is more niche but since everyone either stays injured and you get the max bonus(and dying light fast heals don't matter) or the survivors cleanse and you have corrupt purge to antiloop and down surivors quicker.
if you want more power in chase you could also try your luck with hex blood favor since when they become injured from your vile purge in chase they cant throw down pallets (which leads to jolt value from your quick knockdowns) a full hex build isnt that bad with her (undying/blood favor/pentimento/plaything) since you have built in slowdown with her power
best of luck and keep practicing ^_^

With the healing changes coming into DbD its going to impact SoloQ to where they'll have to stay stacked due to not being able to efficiently heal themselves and SWF are going to play injured for the mast majority of the game. The changes doesn't really do anything to the Vets who play. What concerns me is that now it's going to be easier to tunnel players out of the game right off first hook now that players will play more cautiously not willing to body block or take hits to get the save or protection hit. Leaving that player to fend for themselves they'll be the easy choice to pick. You got 3 healthy survivors not hooked vs 1 injured survivor who has 1 hook. The choice is easy to pick
Why spread hooks out when you got a guaranteed kill now.
This will hurt newer players and the casuals who want to just learn and play the game. You can't learn anything if you get tunneled out the game
if you are not split up on gens now that killers are without their gen regression perks (which were nerfed) you are playing survivor wrong.
killers cant apply pressure to everyone if you don't let them...they have to hit and run as tunneling out just one survivor (hold w and predrop isn't that hard trust me)just isn't as effective anymore

I had my doubts at first but the more i think about it the more i think this is the best update we will have in years.
Shiften the power to slow the game down from perks to heal speeds that is in the base game means killers will finally be able to play without gen defence perks and not feel handicapped
This basekit slowdown also only applies if you actually spread injuries. For tunnelers the game will be harder cause they won't have as strong gen perks to back it up. Meaning tunneling might very well not be the optimal way to play anymore
This update is exactly what the community asked for but they are to blind to see it
exactly this...the killer needs to spread pressure since they cant rely on gen defense perks like before. all it takes is for the killer to try to tunnel the wrong person and the rest of the team just gen rushes and gets out

Other than maybe a couple I agree with most all of these. Good points.
out of curiosity which ones do you not agree on?

do u listen to music while playing killer?I've taken my headphones off a lot when playing killer.
Have played podcasts.
Had conversations with another person while mostly looking away from the screen.
Got up from the keyboard and went to let the dogs outside.
Sure, there are teams that will absolutely crush me if I'm not 100% focused on the game, but not something I run into frequently.
Would never try that as survivor, but yeah, I am a soloQ.

"do u listen to music while playing killer?"
Yes. It's really not that weird. And most times even if I wasn't I'm talking to my friends on discord that are louder and more obnoxious than music. If I really have to focus on sound I deafen on discord, mute music.
major props to both of you to be able to do that...i honestly have to focus a lot more as a killer unless someone is dead before there are only 3 gens left then i just relax and play around(especially if i am not running corrupt and focusing on pure chase builds)

how to retain players?
By adding goals and rewards for those goals.
some games do it by adding a ranked system that eventually evolves into pro play
- if i were to make a professional esport model for dead by daylight it would be a 5v5 (4 survivors and 1 killer team). In a match one team’s goal would be to escape as fast as possible with as many survivors as possible. Each survivor that escapes will be 1 point. The time it takes to escape would decide tie breakers. There are 2 matches one killer versus one survivor, have a short recess, flip the groups. Tally the score and announce a winner.
- in this example there would be a specific map that is designated the “esports” map that is prebuilt from the ground up and not from rng. Offerings would be disabled. Players would be allowed to use any perk, item, and add-on combination - except special event items that are meant to change gameplay for thematic reasons - blight syringe for example
- this competition would mirror the in-game ranked mode and top players would be scouted from a leaderboard, given a ranking at the end of a season, and a cosmetic to indicate their achievement of that rank (like a charm or a specific character’s base outfit modified: i.e. bloody dwight vs iridescent dwight vs challenger dwight vs victorious dwight etc.)
- ranked mode could go for 3 months or continue the 1 month trend or whatever. 5 people are paired through prebuilts or through matchmaking vs 5 more people. The killer’s ratings go up based on kills of survivors. The individual survivor’s ratings go up based on escape percentage. If a low level killer kills a survivor that has a high percentage or a low success rate survivor escapes a high kill count killer the stats go up more. So when you see a player’s stats it might say “survivor -escape rate: 89%” or “killer - kill rate: 64%” and of course there would be a “win/loss” rating to show if they’re the deciding factor of the games they play. As well as a “time to kill” rating for killers. Survivors would have a few extra stats that show the various aspects of teamwork: health state heals, rescues, successful chases, escapes, generators completed, etc.
other games do it by making end game content to grind for such as gear sets or unique time limited content that is only available to high ranking veteran players. Some examples that come to mind are rainbow 6 extraction, for honor, mmorpgs, and destiny.
- for dbd the deep archives or whatever might be that thing. Or it could be something like a reward for reaching level 100. Or a new mode only high devotion players can play (like smite’s face the titans mode). However, this would take a lot of effort on the part of creating advanced AI. Or just creating impossible to beat odds that some egghead who has grinded a way into dbd godhood. Like “face the entity” or something.
- release new content more regularly. This is pretty much already being done. Dbd releases new content way more regularly than other games. Perhaps it’s not so much an issue with the time frame, but the bulk or variances.
i think these are all fantastic ideas but do you think rank mode would split the playerbase too much?

is it really that bad on switch
Yes. I cannot play killer for real on Switch, I cannot. The framerate is so bad and choppy it's definitely worse than 15fps. The new/updated maps are really bad. Because of the poor framerate, I can't increase the sensitivity to 100% like I can on PS4, so the controls are sluggish. Survivors kind of just disappear during chases all the time, either because they 360 and vanish or because they break line-of-sight and scratch marks are just not there. The majority (large majority) of attempted hits miss. Many killer powers are either super clunky or they move way too fast and feel uncontrollable. Input latency makes things even worse.
I remember one survivor running in circles in front of me on the new Shelter Woods map, and he was moving faster than the framerate could keep up with. I must've tried to hit him over 20 times and not once did it ever connect. Only injured him once, when another survivor accidentally body blocked him, otherwise he was untouchable.
I once tried to pip up killer on Switch, and I couldn't get out of Bronze. (It was a long while back, I don't remember how far in Bronze I got, but it wasn't far. I had already gotten to Iri 1 on PS4 and thought it'd be cool to also get the bonus BP on Switch... never again.)
I have gone against other Switch killers, and the majority seem to suffer from the same performance issues I do. Almost all Switch killers whiff over and over and over again. I can't remember the last time I saw a Switch killer who wasn't running Unrelenting, it's pretty much required.
Survivor has problems (skill checks) but it's not nearly as debilitating as when playing killer. Between the frame drops and input latency, running DS has never been an option. I do a mini-celebration if I manage to hit every Merciless Storm skill check. The input latency can cause problems in chases, too, like not being able to throw down a pallet.
I think older generations of Switch consoles and ports have more performance problems than newer generations, but I wouldn't know for sure.
(hi trickster)
Trickster's unplayability makes me so sad.
moved to a free to play model with microtransactions/outfit generator
I hope that doesn't happen. Free-to-play would mean even more cheaters and hackers.
i didnt realize it was so bad on switch...it reminds me of the input lag when i tried to stream dbd on gamepass on my phone (now if i do log in on my phone it is just when they have daily log in rewards)
i hope you didnt pay too much for that switch version of dbd...is it running better on ps4 now?

As survivor, teammates. I want smarter matchmaking that puts me with teammates who will participate in the match. I haven't touched survivor for a while now because I really, really am so freaking tired of it. You can't put survivors who don't participate with players who do participate and expect the latter to carry them, that's not fair and it doesn't work. Put the ones who don't participate together and let them learn what happens when they can't piggyback on their teammates.
In general, I want BHVR to improve console performance. Killer is pretty much unplayable on Switch. The new wiggle hurts controller users so, so much more than PC and on PS4 I have had times when I was unable to hook Boil Over users even when the hook was only a few feet away, I simply could not move. Console needs controller options like dead zone and response curve, the lack of those options when ranged killers exist is unacceptable.
I also want the cross-progression that was promised for Switch. It was the only reason I was willing to purchase the game on Switch in the first place. Performance keeps getting worse.
With how bad DbD is at keeping new players, they really do need to work more on keeping long-time customers happy. My frustration with the game only gets worse each time I turn it on. When my best way to deal with game's issues is to not play, at what point do I simply completely stop? History has shown that once I move on, I won't come back. I think most people are the same.
i feel your pain as a console player...the biggest gripes i have are boil over in indoor maps lead to almost impossible hooks and aiming is horrible (hi trickster)
is it really that bad on switch? i remember how dbd was running on the xbox one and now that i play on the series s it is so much smoother
the retention rate is why i worry about this games future...there are only so many more players you can entice (ps players got it as part of ps plus, epic games gave it out for free, i am actually surprised it hasn't been given out as a game with gold or moved to a free to play model with microtransactions/outfit generator

Against her yes but spirit is already doing fine
What about MR trapper or MS merchant who already struggle to end chases on injured survivors? They are going to be annihilated while general kill rate goes up because everyone plays meta causing probably more killer nerfs
The strong get stronger and the weak stay the same if not weaker
seems like all lower tier killers have been given up on(no mobility to patrol the map and end chases quickly which is another reason the 3 gen meta became more of a reality...even skull merchant struggles with her 3 percent/5 at most speed boost you could boost her speed to 100 if all 4 claw traps are active but that is very hard to achieve)
edit: i mean against more competent teams...against solo players they are more viable

Funny I consider killer ez mode, but I don't play in a SWF so...
yeah killer is easier than solo mode i agree with that since survivor depends heavily on your team being efficient

@Bwsted said:
Survivor is not ez mode and will absolutely not be ez mode. This is not 2017.
Having more or less downtime due to the asymmetrical nature of the game =/= difficulty.
efficient genrushing ia ez as possible even more with newer perks...even bad looping with predrops and windows of opportunity and holding w gives ample time and at the end of it all 3 people on gens 1 in chase is ez mode...killer is a lot harder u have to juggle time more efficiently
do u listen to music while playing killer?

If you wan't to feel better or worst about what unmoral fictional characters do, you do you. Whatever makes you sleep at night. But OP asked to discuss if he should be on the game or not based on those feelings.
And I'm not angry, but like I said, I think all this topic is pretty ridiculous. Simple as that.
it is more for the presentation of the game...people get offended by the dumbest things in this game such as the aforementioned bubba skin mask fiasco; just because the masks are gone doesn't make those same people all of a sudden stop tunneling certain survivors
-
so you would be fine with the creeper in dead by daylight?
