There's not really any benefit to hitting people on hooks, so, I don't think anyone would call that a strat per se.
forcing altruistic saves vs a basement bubba? I mean people should know better but skill issue.

i see it most of the time when the killer chases someone after crouching and letting us do gens seems like it is vital gameplay mechanics.

3 surivors with the new information buffs on gen and 1 in chase > 1 killer. There is no point in spreading pressure especially if the one in chase is a good looper and predrops plus dead hard as a safety net.
