Goes both ways. Just got this lobby, saw the map / key. Then got the hatch offering and map offering and was expecting a super sweaty game.
But then they all got mowed down at 5 gens left.

I wanted to try something with insidious on them. You know that Ultra rare add-on where if Victor is crushed when in idle the survivor is exposed? I kinda wanted to use insidious to stay close to Victor with Insidious and use him as bait. I haven’t tried it though.
You should try it with that add-on.
Maybe try the drop of perfume? I can’t find anything on how big the shriek radius is but maybe it could be combined with madelines glove for some bootleg stealth on an indoor map.
I do like monitor a lot on her, and most killers. Closing the gap easier is never a bad thing
-
Funny, that’s actually very close to mine.
I have corrupt, sloppy, discordance, monitor.
I was using ruin undying for a while but want to get used to playing without it again.
-
No because I believe the way it works is the devs have to pay for every patch put out on the console.
-
Because half the games are full meta survivors, smack talking SWFs, 4-5 minute genrush games, item swapping survivors, or being sent to Haddo or something.
Survivors have complained when I played perkless wraith.
So who cares? It’s in the game, I’m using it.
-
I could never get to that many good addons, I enjoy using them too much.

Currently I'd say not fantastic. After the Midchapter patch where Undying lets Devour keep its stacks I'd say pretty solid assuming you're good at tracking since you haven't got any tracking perks. I am also not sure I'm convinced by Enduring. I'm pretty sure nearly everyone knows that you need to pre drop pallets vs Clown which would mean you aren't getting stunned by them.
I'd replace Enduring for BBQ or Save the Best for Last.
A ton of people like to camp pallets as well though, dropping them as you come around the corner.
Enduring is great in those situations since you can quickly throw a bottle and slow them down again while kicking the pallet with brutal. Without enduring the stun lasts too long to get a bottle throw off.
And as clown I feel like you want to be playing very aggressive, taking a lot of swings through pallets. Especially in tight situations where they are slowed and it’s not readily clear if your swing will hit them before they can drop the pallet or not.

Clown - "upside down frown"
Devour Hope
Undying
Brutal Strength
Enduring
How it plays: The idea is to not respect any pallet and hook as many people as you can. Patrolling gens far enough away from hook to get tokens for devour.
I don’t like it. Devour is a pretty terrible perk unless you have a map offering to go along with it. And clown doesn’t down people ridiculously fast or anything. Even with Undying it’s going to be mediocre. I’ve tried that combo quite a few times with limited successes. My most successful devour builds always involve Lerys, Hawkins, or Midwich.
Brutal Strength is great for clown. I like enduring as well.
I usually run monitor on him because if the survivors are running early you waste half your bottles just catching up to them instead of scoring hits.
You are going to get seriously gen rushed without an early game perk like Corrupt or Discordance.
I usually do Corrupt, Monitor, Brutal, and then either Pop or Enduring
-
Old ruin was way more oppressive if it didn’t get blown up in the first minute of the time, which it typically was. Especially because it stacked with Pop.
When I was relatively new to killer just equipping ruin instantly got me to purple rank.
New ruin actually requires the killer to play well and create pressure instead of being totally passive. And ruin undying still dies in the first minute or two of the game sometimes.

If they plan to make the game more scary, not how the classical forum user wants to have it. Usually the "Make DBD scarier"-Threads are just "Nerf Survivor-"Threads.
I guess, if they want to make it more scary, they are talking about graphics, sounds and ambience.
I mean they did nail it with Pyramid Head and Blight.
Like I can’t say I’m ever scared when I’m chased by say spirit, it’s usually just more like ugh why does this killer even exist.
Pyramid Head has the huge loud buildup to the chase, is threatening enough to make me want to avoid him, but isn’t so overbearing I feel it’s cheap.
Blight chases are usually pretty fun, especially if they start with him coming out of undetectable and all you hear is him injecting himself on the other side of a wall nearby your gen.
Billy/Bubba have awesome chases, some of my favorite chases in the game started with a tinkerer Billy/Bubba smashing through the breakable wall next to my generator. It’s such an “oh #########” moment but in a good way.
A bad one is “the Oni with blood fury saw me; so I just go down”
Overall I think the game is moving in a good direction, and is more scary than it has ever been since release.
-
I think they could just use some more indoor maps. The close quarters and uncertainty of the killers location usually keeps things pretty tense for me. An underground tomb, a haunted mansion, etc.
And they need to make the maps less safe because maps like dead dawg / midwhich are just so good aesthetically but so bad gameplay wise. How are you ever supposed to be scared working on a gen where’s there’s only 1 entrance to it and you get a massive heads up the killer is coming anyways.

Pig itself I'd say is not only solid but actually high-tier, but I do have to agree that hangman's trick is absolute garbage now.
Back when it just respawned hooks really fast it actually had a use, you could stop worrying about having unhookable survivors if you had terrible map generation
How? She’s literally terrible. Her stealth is bad and almost requires tracking perks to work. Think that tons of people drop half their build on monitor / whispers to get a stealth hit when wraith / ghostface / Myers just walk up and get it for free.
Her anti loop is bad unless you have video tape and combat straps, in which case it’s still pretty bad.
And her power is totally RNG based and even with 12k of addons the survivor can still just get the hat off in the first try.

Was never a suggestion to begin with. They were simply ideas that I now see don't hit with people enough. What would you consider they do?
Well for one fixing the Drivers License would be nice since the last time I heard it’s still broken. Then you could actually stalk people from a distance without having to be totally in cover which I feel like would be a lot more creepy from the survivors perspective. That would indirectly buff a ton of his other addons including these.

Hangman's Trick is garbage. The change they made to it in that one PTB had some promise if it was balanced correctly, but then they decide that rather than balance it into a potentially useful information perk, they should ram it straight into the ground and make it weaker than before it was changed.
I kind of miss the old hangman’s trick. Sometimes you had a perfect hook in the middle of a 3 gen and could use it a few times in a row. It was like every hook was a basement hook.
And it was always pretty funny if someone was doing that sit under the hook “tech” and after the first guy dies you picked them up and tossed them onto the same hook after they saw it respawn.

^ This. The Cypress Mori is a terrible offering but as part of regular gameplay it'd be cool.
There also need to be more mori animations. Some of the older ones are very boring, and all animations get stale after a while considering each killer only has the one.
Yeah but beyond blood points or a map offering there’s not really much to use anyways. Mist has been nerfed pretty hard.
I still like moris being tied to an offering. Using one every game would be too much, the only exception is pyramid head since his built in one is so fast.
It’s still kind of humorous that when you offer a mori it’s like saying “I’m paying 6-7k just to ignore your DS/Unbreakable”

- Regardless of what you're using it for, it still bypasses much of the game without warning.
- If you don't care about the "fun" of others in a game like this, than don't be salty when others troll you and still 4 man escape.
It’s a PvP game, I don’t show any mercy nor do I expect any. I can go play teletubbies happy fun time instead of a game about murdering people in the name of a dark god.
Two, the major problem with the mori nerf is the devs in all their wisdom decided to not nerf keys at the same time. As well as the failure of an MMR system that locks you into your killer. So you join a lobby as a weak killer and see the map/key SWF and you might as well dodge because there’s no way to deal with them anymore.

As killer, it does suck to be in the middle of a chase and the injured survivor suddenly gets a heal and Sprint Burst. Or a survivor is immediately healthy upon being unhooked. Adrenaline also encourages survivors to double down on gens and not heal. I know that's how I play when I run Adrenaline, just focus on the gen 'cause I'll get healed automatically.
And to clarify something, NOED is the counter to Adrenaline. Adrenaline heals a survivor one health state and gives them a burst of speed. NOED makes the killer permanently faster and gives them an insta-down, negating Adrenaline's heal. NOED has to exist because Adrenaline exists.
NOED is always a terrible choice as a killer because you never want to be getting to endgame in the first place.
And with the amount of keys flying around these days you are not even guaranteed to have any endgame to play with anyways.
-
Forget it. It’s been broken since implementation and only gotten buffed. It will never be changed.
There’s only a few ways around it, “just don’t tunnel” clearly isn’t one.
One shot killers to avoid the unhook in the first place, tombstones, pyramid head cages, and paying for moris.
-
I just don’t like the character. Even if she is busted.
I’d probably rather grief with basement rusty shackles hag.
-
I never play her outside tampered timer / crate of gears and even then I don’t enjoy her much. M1 killers are obsolete.

You're using an inherently broken offering that takes out half the game and complaining others don't want to play with you?
Butt Y?
Somebody never read the patch notes. The only thing moris are good for is avoiding a death hook DS. And two, DBD is public matches. There is little to no reason to care about the fun of the person you are playing against. That’s like thinking “wow I wonder if this guy im shooting in call of duty is having any fun” and the answer is why would you ever care. Roll them over with the killstreaks for an even better K/D
-
Moris are still good one the one shot killers. I hardly play anything but one shot killers anymore.
If you camp the survivor to half, you can get a down on the savior and then follow them for 15 seconds into a mori to avoid the crutch strike.

too bad I didn't even say any of that
I was quoting someone else? I agree, tunneling is almost always the best choice. Camping is throwing sometimes but tunneling is always a solid strategy unless the survivor is very good. Eat the DS and tunnel them out.
When I am playing a stealth killer and get DSd I almost always just sit at the hook until they are rescued and murder them the second they get off.
-
It’s called play Bubba, chuck the survivors in the basement, and let them all die on first hook. Sick of the key/map swapping 6 second SWFs. It’s that or play tombstone Myers.
-
My favorite is probably father campbells chapel. Very balanced map with reasonable loops and a good size.
Least favorite? Fractured cowshed, or Springwood. Both are ridiculously safe for survivors. Honorable mention to Thompson house and Crotus Penn Asylum.
-
This is probably his gold standard build. If you want to take him to high rank I recommend getting bamboozle as soon as possible. Infectious is a greedy perk but Bubba can get away with it.
-
I would not be worried. I play him half the time at rank 1.
He is very satisfying to play, has great addons, and has a very solid plan B if the game is going poorly (camp someone to death).
He is one of the few killers who can easily keep up with the current meta.
-
Yeah, it’s called drop a whole perk slot on corrupt intervention or have 3 gens pop in 2 minutes.

They are the reason they're still in business. If it weren't for them, the devs would have to work harder to attract players to spend money and keep playing the game.
I don’t see anything wrong with it, especially if they play DBD as their main game. Your average MMO is 15$ a month or almost 200$ a year and I’ve spent less than that on DBD in over 4.

So you have a survivor who can loop you for 2-3 minutes before going down and you think the best strat is to pick him up and see if he has ds?
At that point you probably only have like 1 gen left so you might as well commit. Then try and camp out a 2k during EGC.

Just seems like backwards logic. 5 people in a game so you can only control what one does(you) and influence the rest in a very minimal way, on paper and in practice it's not a very sound thing to do. Survivors tend to be altruistic(as they should be), but if one person finds out and they happen to be talking to another survivor, you're not really making it work out for you. Yeah no one escaped through the hatch but people escaped regardless.
Not really. Since the dawn of DBD I have always considered it a good trade of 3 gens for 1 kill. I been facecamping with wraith since 2017. And now I got Bubba to use? It’s a very simple decision. I don’t mind if the games go down to the wire if I can spite a key user.
-
Most used perk in the game is DS. Second is dead hard. That’s obvious to anyone who has played the game for any length of time at red ranks.
Yes I’m using a tombstone and no I don’t care.
-
Survivors have had the best stealth perk in the game since release and it’s called spine chill. There is also iron will, fixated, urban evasion (inferior to fixated).
You can also go for the big plays with lithe, quick and quiet, dance with me.
-
I’m telling you it’s gotta be close to half my games with a key. I can hardly join a lobby without seeing one. And they are not even being nerfed in the mid chapter? It kills my motivation to play the game
-
@Yords said:

It is not that bad most of the time as most people would have you believe.
Let’s see, half my games today have had a key. Including a hacking teleporting bill with a green key. I just got out of a lobby with 2 keys. But nerf moris.
-
You are right, it was so hard they had to shadownerf moris out of the blue after 4 years but leave keys totally untouched.
I just insidious facecamp keys half the time because I don’t feel like dealing with them.
-
Bamboozle, bamboozle is probably #1 with Enduring being #2. The biggest time wasters in the game are shut down by bamboozle. Never respect pallets and enduring will teach you that.
-
I don’t even use BBQ much anymore, it’s a mediocre tracking perk and mainly there for blood points. Discordance or Whispers are far more reliable.
The only people who complain about this perk are people who don’t get into a locker against Bubba.
-
Nope. No reason to use it over legitimate stealth perks because all it really provides is oblivious on one person.

“Almost every killer perk requires thought and skill”
Yep they do:
Whispers : literally walk around and do nothing.
Corrupt Intervention: literally spawn into a map.
No Ed: Apparently this one requires so much skill you need the survivors to complete THEIR objective to show how much skill it requires. Phew.
Ruin/Undying: Yup you guessed it 👍 spawn on the map again.
I could go on. Listen, if you are gonna call out a perk which has a timer and KNOWINGLY you pick the survivor up. You kind of deserve to get stunned. It means you weren’t paying attention.
I love that you HAD to bring up a different scenario than the one presented in the video I was referring to because you know that is the truth. He should have kept going for Claud and downed her. Or slug for the DS.
End of story.
Whispers requires map knowledge to pinpoint survivors locations and use effectively.
Corrupt intervention can be waited out and borderline requires a tracking perk along side it on non stealth killers.
NOED is a consolation prize kill and only used by killers who expect to lose.
Ruin Undying is going to be gutted soon and was still liable to be cleaned within the first minute or two of the game.
So keep going on. I will keep camping and tunneling. And by the way, he did “slug for the DS” as if it matters when you can slap on unbreakable beside it.

Are you talking about the video or another one of those once in a while situations?
Yes cuz killers shouldn’t play smart either and adapt to the timers that are attached to a perk. They should just be able to down and go. Because clearly this isn’t a game about strategy AT ALL. 🙄
It’s really not as survivor. It’s hold M1, equip second chance perks, camp pallets.
Almost every killer perk in the game requires thought and skill to use. Even the most basic killer such as leather face requires more skill to go around a loop without hitting objects while survivors just hold W.
You can literally run at the killer after being unhooked.
Bomb every hook with BT.
Get slugged? Who cares, hold M1 for unbreakable.
Screw up at a loop? Push E.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Sometimes I wish there was sign in BIG BOLD letters that said “Do not pick up, you have recently hooked this person”.
You could have easily kept chasing that Claudette.
Yes just let survivors run up to the hook and rob you of all your pressure because they equipped second chance perks. Who cares about making smart decisions when you have 12+ extra lives in a game that lasts 4-5 minutes?

I'm experiencing the exact same personal issue, It is a shame and I love the game too but I hate it when anxiety interferes. I'm only 42 hours into the game and I've had the game since September last year but started playing late December. I play at least an hour or two every few days, or if I'm really testing my anxiety I can play up to 4 hours in a day. Unfortunately not often and I do take long breaks... As most people say that the more you play, your anxiety will go away so I'm hoping that day will come. And just don't overthink...
Nope, I’ve been playing for 3 years and I still feel uneasy when an obvious 3-4 man SWF is in the lobby. You already know it’s going to be a really sweaty game before it even loads in. And it’s weird because I never feel anxiety in almost any other game I have played.

Lol. It’s not PC players fault that console framerate is terrible. I tried DBD on console and was back to PC within a few days

Camping one player is the worst thing a Killer can do please don't encourage this kind of behavior and play style. Besides, who actually has fun doing that?
Also not everything is about regression perks, there are gen patrol perks that help you know which gens to put pressure on (This is huge), perks to help you find and catch Survivors and then just perks which you can run in a build to maximize efficiency.
If you down everyone before they can get gens done then you didn't need all the slowdown and regression in the world. Idk I just feel like sometimes we are too obsessed with slowing down the pace of the game that we forget the importance of killing survivors swiftly and keeping intense pressure on them at all times and making it tense rather than annoying.
Oh and shoutout to my corrupt intervention which I know is only really good on setup killers but it shouldn't be overlooked either.
You are not going to be downing survivors fast enough to win with 12 hooks with an M1 killer if the survivors are any good. That’s just a fact. They can just camp pallets on half the maps and that’s enough for them to win if you are switching targets.
Camping one player with a slug nearby is a very solid move if you are at 4+ gens left. The last 2 survivors will never finish the gens before the person on the hook dies.
Especially on a one shot killer who can deny the unhook entirely and complete the sacrifice without having to worry about BT/DS.
I don’t run slowdown perks because pop is mediocre now and I don't want to get used to ruin undying. I run chase perks, tracking perks, and usually infectious fright on one shot killers typically.
-
It’s pretty much the only option if you are playing without ruin undying or pop.
And pop is kinda meh these days and ruin undying is about to get axed.
-
It builds a lot of pressure really fast. If you have the chance to slug it’s usually a good idea. It’s the survivors fault for presenting a good opportunity to do so.
Take Micheal Myers, you only get a handful of tier 3s and you need to make sure things get done during them. A single hook for a tier 3 is usually not worth it. But a slug and a hook, creating a situation where you can confirm a half state on someone, is.
-
DS deactivated upon entering a locker or touching a generator.
Borrowed time buffed to always activate. Camping stealth killers / Freddy is lame.
Totem counter for NOED
Unbreakable nerfed to 20% extra recovery
Gut spirit
Gut keys
Gut hag
-
Sabo itself isn’t actually needed, but the auras are nice. You can just use a sabo box instead.
I would recommend getting dead hard in there over spine chill. You are going to have to take a hit for breakout to actually work most of the time. Ideally you take a hit, speed boost to the hook, sabo it; and then dead hard out of the way.
Instead of Sabo you might also want mettle of man or we’re gonna live forever since you are going for protection hits. Or potentially decisive since you are going to piss killers off a lot when the build actually works.
