Meta squads? My ONE friend and I were running appraisal and plunderers with coins. I also stated that there was a flaw with matchmaking in the post game lobby. We didn't do anything toxic we just played the game and he was not as, good simple as that. Whether it was a matchmaking issue or not the case still stands. Either way I posted the video to prove that it was a 2 man stack, we weren't running anything meta, we did not flame him in post game, and the guy knew we weren't even a full squad as we talked in post game about it but decided to come and complain about how op and amazing SWF is. Enjoy the day

Bluntly, the chest build is almost just as bad because it practically guarantees a key. And guess what, you found one. Then all lined up at the hatch to jump out.

Then at the end you complained about camping and tunneling which honestly is just as cringe as him complaining about SWF. I love how the guy doesn’t even know what tunneling even is yet because it’s that made up by the DBD community.

And I’m not specifically talking about this game I’m talking about what happens in DBD in general.

Discipline is really weak and generally more or less a wasted slot unless you're blind enough to need the illusion stain, they do make a fun combo when used together though

What? It’s probably his best chase addon. Double discipline cuts the amount of time to do a shock in half; removing the majority of skill needed by the doctor to time the shocks.

Someone told me about this thread and I read through everything and thought it was very funny, here is the VOD of this game so you all can understand that the killer making this thread actually does just NEED TO GET GOOD.... I'm sorry..... https://www.twitch.tv/videos/883234262

I mean it’s more a matchmaking failure than anything. SWF is stupid strong and throwing baby killers into meta squads with probably thousands of hours is pretty dumb.

Hmm good point, but sometimes gens are too fast. I've had a game with consistent like 30 second downs and 2 1 minute chases one was because I was being dumb and the other was a girl wasting pallets so I took them out and left her. I had pop and everything but only had a 3k because of over altruism. Also your coup build will only work if you get pressured or survivors dont learn or if you only use it on every survivor once. Idk the looping build you said is something I can deal with at least. Maybe not very well because you sound like a good killer.

Well I’d only run Coup on Myers specifically because he already has an extended lunge so it’s massive and he has a weak early game so you will probably lose a gen or two.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlM9ooRw_wE&t=5m20s

This is probably the series that gave me the confidence I needed to run whatever perks I want. And that 5 minute game will show you the methods to win like 90%+ of your killer games at rank 1.

Yeah that's true, but not everyone runs perks like that because of well gens.

You don’t need gen perks if you are getting fast downs. All you need is a 3 gen and a hook. And if you get a slug nearby it you can basically just sit there until the guy dies if you do it early enough because the survivors will never get the gens done in time with only 2 people. Then you have your 3 gen in a 3v1 which is usually trivial to win (assuming no key) especially if you cleared out some nearby pallets.

I cant tell if that's even a compliment. It seems competent has different meanings to people. But yeah you have a point. They used their frenzy but pallet respected. Honestly even if it was a good killer it wouldnt be much different especially if I didnt make the mistakes that I did. Because I could use pallets and adjust looping accordingly. Which kinda sucks because I feel like this map has the potential to be the most survivor sided map if not one of them.

Yeah, that’s like every coldwind map just about. They all have tons of very safe interlocking pallets that can be chained.

And no I disagree, when I play killer it’s typically using one of two strategies. Run like every slowdown perk in the game and clear out deadzones near gens, then return to them for downs.

Or, just run corrupt intervention and like 2-3 chase perks. I just got out of a few Enduring Fury / Coup de grace Myers matches and it’s pretty dirty. They try to loop a strong window? 1 shot by coup de grace. Play too many pallets? 1 shot by spirit fury. Then I snowball from there.

  • I mean everyone knows the coldwind maps are some of the most survivor sided in the game. It looks like a baby pallet respecting legion who didn’t even frenzy?

If you are going into games as an M1 killer without chasing perks that is kind of your own fault if you get looped and don’t know to drop a chase if a competent survivor is going to a nasty setup.

  • Honestly? 1 shot killers are the answer. There’s a reason every instadown killer except ghostface is on the upper half of the killing spectrum (and he is literally still at the halfway point).

    7497766B-2355-4655-AEBC-91F2017818F0.png

I have such a hard time bothering to play a killer without a 1 shot anymore.

They can all snowball hard, make use of hook/gen regression perks such as pop far more frequently, and can defend the hooks better. You are more free to run exotic perks on them.

What does a key matter if your first two attacks of the game can literally end it with a hook and a slug?

  • Forget it, stay true to the movies

  • Why do people keep saying it got nerfed? It’s literally stronger than ever.

Old DS you could ignore with Enduring, was impacted by Unnerving Presence, and you could juggle people to keeps.

The brief period where DS was bugged and the stun was half duration on a ton of killers made me miss old enduring so much.

Current DS is “I’m gonna sit in this locker and either eat my DS or wait a full minute while my team slams generators”

  • I doubt it since they could probably claim they were just waiting for a good time to do gens.

But these kinds of survivors are why I only run a 32m terror radius killer with whispers or monitor. It’s waaaay too easy to hide from a 32m radius killer if you don’t want to do gens.

    1. what do you mean? I’ve always considered the Huntress one of the best killers in the game, why shouldn’t I compare her to Billy or Spirit? She is Billy with projectiles. I’d like to hear why you think differently.
    2. what do you even mean by “we killers beyond rank 15” lol I have been a killer in the red ranks for 4 years, I know what it feels like but I still don’t pick a specific killer to camp all my games
    3. agreed, but not that easy in solo/duo q. That’s usually 3 teammates trying to rescue you and huntress with her hatchet raised.

Huntress is Billy with hatchets? What?

And obviously if you want to pick a killer to camp all your games, it’s Bubba or Hag.

Im straight addicted to Bubba since his rework. Nothing like ending a cocky teabagging survivors game like tossing them in the basement.

  • Probably my best advice is use perks that are conductive towards you stalking people. Whispers, Discordance, Surveillance, etc. If you are mostly just taking regular hits with ghostface there is very little reason to play him over wraith.

Both are pure M1 but wraith has significantly more mobility with addons and actually has the ability to quickly drop a bad chase.

  • I left mine on for a year and I have over 300 DBD comments, mostly -reps.

It means anytime I’m playing the game with my profile public I feel obligated to play toxic to live up to it

    Okay so...

    • Hex the Third Seal
    • Sloppy Butcher
    • Knockout
    • STBFL or Noed....and then never hook anyone just down them and put traps on them with tampered timer.

When you down a survivor don't hook them. You just...leave them there. Bleed out timers don't reverse; and it takes a long time to pick up someone you can't see with sloppy even if they are in a SWF. You just keep downing people and you cannot be DS'd, you can't be sabo'd, you can't be flashlight blinded....you kill them by death by time out basically.

I would at least hook them once everyone is down and unable to unbreakable...or not I guess if you really want to upset people.

Why would you do that with pig instead of a killer who’s actually good at slugging?

Like yeah I'm a survivor main and I'm not a good killer all the time and I got my moments but when I dont swing through people and get cucked by auto aim i ALMOST never get spun. Oh yeah and PC survivors can see red stain easier too

I mean I tried DBD killer on console and was back to PC within a few days. It’s terrible, and I have no plans on getting the next gen console anyways.

If I was on console though, I’d probably stick to mechanically simple killers. M1 killers like Myers, Ghostface, Legion, etc. maybe venturing into AOE killers like Plauge or Clown.

  • Survivors getting carried by perks instead of skill.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

Adding on to this, I never see any killers using their perks either, I see plenty of Elodies and her perks on survivors, but I have never seen a Twins player, or a player using the Twin's perks.

    She isn't even remotely apparent

Hoarder is great if you wanna see more keys in your lobby.

Oppression is weak and has a huge cool down.

Coup de grace is mere tier.

The Twins are meme tier too so it’s no surprise.

Not true. Freddy is oblivious with no TR.

Like you cant see cloaked Wraith or Mikey in Teir 1

Please stop spreading misinformation. Oblivious and Undetectable are two different status effects. An oblivious survivor gets permanent wall hacks on the killer which is why it’s the best perk against Freddy by far.

I just want a toxic perk build, I don't want to tunnel or camp.

Blood hound is not toxic, neither is an extra trap.

Tampered timer + crate of gears is because it physically only gives the survivors enough time to search 3 boxes on most maps. Effectively making it so that there is a 25% chance the survivor dies every time a trap is activated while they are on the hook.

Ruin Undying is OP, enough that it’s getting nerfed soon.

Spirit Fury + Enduring is super annoying for survivors to go against because it essentially provides you with free hits/downs.

  • Ruin, Undying, Enduring, Spirit Fury; Crate of gears and Tampered timer. And a mori for good measure

  • Bad survivors don’t want to be punished for mistakes.

Good survivors don’t want to lose their ability to screw with the killer.

  • @Marigoria said:

Killers camp and tunnel and then are surprised gens get done lol.

If you are playing a killer who can be looped, and is low mobility, why would you ~ever~ start a game off by cutting through like 3-4 safe pallets; creating a dead zone, getting a hook in said dead zone, and then just walk completely away to the other side of the map? Then go chase a survivor through another 3+ safe pallets while the hooked survivor gets away for free?

It makes absolutely no sense and it’s a great way to lose the game if the survivors are even somewhat competent at looping.

And if you have pop? Go pop the gen and give the survivor a massive head start in chase. Ruin / Undying? Yeah it’s dead.

If camping and tunneling didn’t work, I would stop doing it. It’s really as simple as that.

Even with Iron Will, she can STILL hear you injured when she has Stridor. I've had so many matches where I have Iron Will, yet as long as she has Stridor, she and you will both hear your character still moan in pain, which really defeats the purpose of Iron Will.

It’s still 50% quieter, and honestly if you drop the chase before starting the phase you don’t even need it since you can just listen for footsteps.

I use Stridor on characters that are not spirit somewhat often and iron will still makes a huge difference.

Eh back when it did affect it unnerving was still one of the least used perks in the game. Its useless on killers with low tr. Its useless on stealth killers. And theres so much better perks that can occupy a slot. And at rank 1 people can hit unnerving overcharge. I would know. Just because it could counter ds a bit wouldnt bump it up to meta status.

I would still probably end up using it on killers like ghostface to specifically counter DS.

When was the enduring nerf? There was no reason to use unnerving over enduring when enduring totally countered DS. Is that also when you could just hook juggle?

DS has been buffed significantly from its old iterations in my opinion, enough to justify dropping a whole slot to try and get rid of it.

  • I don’t think that would be a minor buff. That would make it a meta perk since DS is the most powerful and most used survivor perk in the game.

  • D65535CA-4E0B-44E2-81BC-62978712EE25.png

Don’t worry OP, with time and practice you can be a toxic killer main as well; sending fools out with less than 2k points half the time.

  • No thanks, I don’t want to sit around for 2 minutes waiting for some survivor to die so they can get 500 points.

The change to instantly kill everyone when the game was over was one of the best ones in a while.

  • Old Freddy I only liked for Pill Bottle, which made him the OG hit and run killer since he was the only one who could hit you directly out of total invisibility.

But we have Ghostface and Silent Bell wraith now; who do basically the same thing gameplay wise so I don’t miss him too too much anymore.

The "most dangerous stealth killer in DbD" is different to "the most dangerous stealth killer in DbD that cannot be run every game because it requires the use of breathtakingly rare consumables."

Uhhh, ultra rare addons are not ultra rare. You get one or an ebony every bloodweb if you have all the perks on that killer.

You can buy a full bloodweb almost every game if you run BBQ and win your games.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Okay, I wasn't talking about ridiculously powerful addons or map offerings.

    You said “the most dangerous”

  • @MadLordJack said:

Probably because they have to hunt for a totem against what suddenly becomes the most dangerous stealth killer in the game.

And also Otz mega popularised that build, so it's probably getting really common.

I can tell you that silent bell + wall hacks wraith with an indoor map offering is significantly more dangerous than ghostface if you can reach 3 stacks.

I do indoor devour hope builds pretty often with stealth killers and wraith is definitely the most lethal. Although ghostface and Myers can reach the 3 stacks faster (particularly hair bow + infectious Myers) once wraith hits it the wall hacks and unlimited stealth carry so much harder and he can actually defend the totem very well as well as secure the 4K much easier.

  • I will play her with ridiculous addons sometimes but outside that? Forget it.

I need my rubbing oil on her otherwise I just get annoyed at watching puke literally do a splashing animation on survivors, with them screaming in disgust, and then them not getting infected.

She’s been terrible since dedicated servers.

If you want to slow the gens down, camping and tunneling isn't that good a method, it's better to go for slugging to draw the other survivors without alleviating the pressure or letting them get into position first, especially if you think they're nearby

There is no way to pressure gens on a 110/115 killer on half the maps in the game. They are too large and too safe, it’s better to have survivors come to you.

I typically get the first down, hook them, check the nearest 3 gens. Slug anyone at them or check further gens if needed. Get a slug, go back and camp the hook to half or tunnel them if they have been unhooked in the meantime. Once someone is dead I snowball in the 3v1 through slugging; I’m usually running infectious fright.

I have only lost like 2-3 games out of probably like 30-40 over the last week doing this method, and one of them was because of a key.

  • Gens can be done in 4-5 minutes. When it takes the killer maybe 25-30 seconds to find a chase and then another 30 seconds to get a down (assuming perfect play); even just traveling across the map on a 115 killer will have 2 gens popping for your first hook.

When that happens to me you gotta be out of your mind to think I’m not going to be camping and tunneling.

And the fact all the gen regression perks are going to be garbage next patch encourages me to do it even more.

  • I can’t get monstrous shrine on my killers either, I feel your pain

  • Gens can be done in 4-5 minutes.

Survivors can equip up to 4 extra lives, in addition to the 3 they already have.

The game will be out for another 10 years and people will still be complaining about the killer trying to kill them.

  • The Wraith addon rework was done after Pig was already released.

This is more of an issue with the skirts that go to the ankle.

It probably would just look weird with the physics of the game. There have definitely been lots of clipping issues even with things like the butchers aprons.

Pyramid Head wears a huge dress in the movie but in DBD he has the slits too.

  • Before, it was Nancy with her ear-breaking screams.

Now it’s Elodie who takes it to another level and almost justifies a smack on hook every hook because I wear headphones.

  • Bring in the moris and 1 shot killers.

BT/DS/Unbreakable doesn’t matter if they never get off the hook in the first place.

My personal best recently was sending a guy called “el toxico” out of my game with 739 points as Bubba.

  • The killer music is there to give survivors a chance to juke the killer. There was a time where it was bugged and did not play and I never lost anyone because I always heard the footsteps.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

I've had the game for about 4 years and I've only run into 2-3 people who were certainly hacking. I have seen a lot of shady stuff that looked suspicious but not enough to file a report.

I agree, I’ve seen some shady stuff but honestly I’ve been hit with console lagswitchers lately more than any blatant hacks or suspiciously fast survivors.

You will get these guys who you literally cannot pick up, your killer starts the animation and then it cancels; and it only happens with one person in the lobby and oh look they also happen to have unbreakable.

  • Check the basement lockers, and run whispers next time.

  • Not often enough I consider it a huge problem. Maybe once a month? Compared to like literally every day in a game like TF2 or something. A few days ago I had a Bill Kobe in my face then teleport himself to the exit gate.

  • @MadLordJack said:

I wouldn't call them "toxic" (some definitely are, don't get me wrong, but not the majority) but I do get a lot of very sweaty survivors with very strong builds, often the classic second chance meta perks. Most of them play like at least a 3-4 person SWF, and many of them are on Steam so I can check and confirm that and apply the same logic to non-steam groups. I'd say at least half my survivors are like that, and the fact that I don't seem to get teammates that play half as good most of the time (I run aura reading perks, I can see their gameplay and co-ordination) I'd say it's safe to assume that most of my opponents are sweaty SWF teams.

That's not to say they are doing anything wrong, or that it's an instant loss, it's just a thing I have to deal with because I play in the evenings. I'd call it my normal, but I know that most people I talk to think it's rather out of the ordinary.

Yeah I read that only like 5% of matches are 3-4 man SWF but I swear I get tons of them when I play killer.

And pretty much any red ranked SWF game is going to be stressful even on killers I consider easy to play and relaxing.

I definitely still bring moris to ignore those death hook DSs cause I usually deal with SWF by tunneling hardcore.
