Well, for the second Clip, you even tunneled the Laurie. That you did not pick her up immediatly does not mean that you did not tunnel. So...
Regarding the first Clip, why exactly did you turn around? I dont see any reason to do so, you gave the Claudette free distance by doing that, even if you would have been able to hook the Nea, the Claudette would have probably opened an Exit at this point and would have been able to escape.
”Tunneled the Laurie” when the survivors are literally looping around the hook and then go in for the save in front of the killers face.

It's already been heavily nerfed five times. A decisive strike should not be on a timer and it should not be decided by the killer. It was already overnerfed.
It’s literally been buffed. Before you could slap on enduring and call it a day, or juggle them to the hook. The new DS is way better.
And the old DS is somewhat back in the game through power struggle.

I never bought the SAW chapter so Surveillance is not an option. Tinkerer or Discordance is obviously a good alternative but they've got their drawbacks as well.
If people do gens separately you're not getting any value from Discordance (I used to run it but dropped the perk after a while as I felt like people would split up way too frequently whenever they noticed I had it).
And Tinkerer... Well... It would often activate when I wasn't close enough to defend the gen making it kinda meh. I still like it on Bubba, though.
I'm currently trying to master Pyramid Head however so Tinkerer doesn't feel all that useful. I may get a hit if I'm lucky and close enough but they will usually still pop that gen in my face and get away.
Well I like tinkerer mainly on one shot killers, or with ruin undying but that’s going away so I guess it’s going to be pop soon.
It’s good with discordance so you are notified of a gen stack and can start moving to it before the tinkerer actually procs. With just tinkerer you won’t make it in time without being a high mobility killer.
One of my favorite Bubba builds is tinkerer / pop / agitation / bamboozle. When it works, it really works. You run up to the tinkerer gen, saw them, then rush over to the hook and pop the gen for another tinkerer proc. And the agitation gives some good basement threat. I just refuse to take bamboozle off Bubba so that’s a perma slot.

Yupp that's true. Tier 3 is more useful when it comes to finding survivors if that's how you want to use Whispers.
Tier 2 Whispers however seems better when it comes to monitoring gens and combined with a tracking perk like Spies (I'm currently testing that combo) you just always know what survivors are up to.
I know that doesn't sound meta at all but I really had some crazy good matches with that combo today. Always knew what gens they wanted and consistently found them via Spies From The Shadows as tier 2 Whispers (40m) synergizes with Spies radius (36m).
I guess I don’t see why you would be using spies and whispers to track generators instead of using dedicated gen tracking perks like surveillance/ tinkerer / discordance/ etc.
I use whispers to get into my first chase quickly, not nearly so much to find people working on gens
-
I would never use whispers at anything other than tier 3 because it gives you a much more precise location to search.
I can’t think of any perk I would keep at tier 1/2. The tiers only extend the ridiculous grind on new killers/survivors. I dropped like 3-4 million BP or so into the twins and I still don’t have the perks I want
-
I just find using the most overpowered items boring sometimes. I have way more fun chasing people around with a chainsaw or a knife than instadowning them with a truck sized hatchet.
It’s not like most people are going to care if you kill them using broken items that everyone knows are broken. It’s more a source of annoyance than people thinking you genuinely outplayed them, which is the true source of salt IMO.
-
Killer is fun against solo Q, annoying and a chore against a coordinated SWF.
Gen speeds are insanely fast, only held back by a fear of the game or ruin undying.
-
I barely learned how to curve on him and I’m so happy I didn’t. I will play him sometimes because I like his chase music but his saw is not very effective at loops anymore; making him pretty weak.
Blight is the new king of mobility. Bubba is the new king of 1 shots.
-
They are fast but good killers can down poor survivors also as fast so it won’t be changed.

Suicides and DC's are feed my ego
Then why are you even making this thread?
-
It depends on the survivors and how much you want points. I find camping/tunneling pretty boring but effective if you are being genrushed.
If you are on a weak killer there is no shame. If you are on a strong killer play better.

You wouldn’t pick one over the other.
You would use both.
A well placed Antidote and a well placed Flask of Bleach is going to be an insanely powerful combination.
I have not played the PTB but I can hardly stand clown without reload speed or extra bottles, giving me only 1 choice of an addon that actually impacts their effectiveness. I typically go with bleach, sometimes larger gas cloud, or maybe intoxicated duration.
Negating dead hard doesn’t matter most of the time since you can swing straight at them with a bleach bottle and still score the hit.
-
Uhh isn’t that the point?
You can fight back with 4x second chance perks and the slew of pallets present on almost every map.
“Last year: the nightmare” had this and it is a totally dead game.
Half the adrenaline rush of survivor is knowing you have nothing but trying to hide and lose the killer in a chase
-
I must be the only person who actually enjoys the vaulting sound. It really makes me feel like I’m playing a stupid drunk clown
-
I definitely tunnel people who DS me from full health like 50 seconds later after I chase them off a gen
-
I didn’t like them at all, but I did relatively well with them.
Using victor as a finisher was the play. M1 with Charlotte then finish them off. Using victor as the first hit ends with him being stolen a lot of the time. Sloppy butcher seems like their best perk. Slugging everybody if possible was best since getting downs 1 by 1 takes way too long with them to win. That or proxy camping.
If you set victor up at the hook before you hook someone you can bypass the anti proxy camping stipulation put in place by the game.
I think the best addons were the Toy Sword and Forest Stew, for faster charge time and a faster Victor.

Yeah I couldn’t imagine they’d have any reason to change the values.
Gonna guess they reduced cork down to 1 second though (2 second reload).
Cork reducing reloading to just 1 second would be absurd.
You can already get to a 2 second reload. But stock bottles are so mediocre it doesn't really matter how many you have.
You can throw like 6 bottles at a survivor to down them over 30 seconds or just run them straight over in 2 seconds with a killer like Bubba.

There are a lot of potatoes in this game unfortunately and the current match making system only makes things worse. I'm coping with solo queue by running around with my farmer hat on.
I've consistently had survivors running across the map to heal in a corner, running far away after missing a skillcheck and crouching around the map, shuddering at the sound of the distant terror radius. MMR can't come soon enough.
Your faith in MMR is pretty strong when you consider the absolute mess it was the last time around. I almost expect it to break the game once again and be hot fix disabled.
-
It looks pretty garbage. Assuming bleach is still in I don’t ever really see why you would be using a 10% speed boost over a 20% speed debuff for the same bottle.
And it takes 2 seconds for the cloud to form? Nah. Might as well not exist outside the longest loops in the games.
-
Deathbound, still my favorite perk in the game even though it’s mostly useless. Just knowing where 2 survivors are is good info sometimes
-
Here is what you need to know about hexes:
You equip them, then they die in the first minute of the game. Then you stop equipping them.
-
The DBD mobile team got transferred over to the real game
-
I would never waste a perk slot on a hex without undying. The totem spawns are literally garbage. I would rather have a perk that’s actually going to help me throughout the game.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
I think you’ll find, given enough time and experience, any killer can he played well without add ons.
I play Clown without add ons a lot.
But why would you? I typically have hundreds of browns on my favorite killers. They are meant to be used.
-
I would say hag. She doesn’t need anything, not even perks, to do well.
-
Xenomorph or the T-800 and I would never play any other game ever again
-
I play a ton of clown and I never use that addon. I would much rather have bleach, faster reload, extra bottles, or extra intoxicated duration.
-
It’s already dead, get back to sweating buckets as killer

I just played a trapper game where the unhooked survivor straight went into a trap... but i wasnt "allowed" to pick him up due to Ds, and hitting him would have resultet him in getting out of the trap + sprint burst with BT...
so i had to let him go for free :D
I would just eat the DS. With pop being nerfed and ruin undying about to go I’m seriously debating on like NOED or maybe something like forced penance to tunnel better.
Gen control is pretty much out the window on most killers. Sloppy butcher is halfway dead too because you will get full healing build survivors mixed in with full meta survivors and they heal back to full in under 8 seconds.
Im having a hard time justifying playing any killer that’s not top tier or doesn’t have a 1 shot down. M1 killers are pretty terrible with no real slowdown options.
-
It really is the smartest thing to tunnel though. I have been playing games without ruin undying or pop and it’s pretty ridiculous how fast the gens go.
If you are an M1 killer I don’t understand what else you are expected to do. A survivor can sit there and camp a few pallets and you will lose half your generators for it. And then you are supposed to just walk away?
I think the perk dying light is supposed to encourage this but it’s honestly terrible.
-
I started as a killer main a few years ago, transitioned into a 50/50 player, and now I’m back to being a killer main.
My time as survivor definitely helped a lot with mindgames and red light manipulation.
-
The twins are still pretty terrible. Victor is pretty strong in a 1v1 but he only does 1 state of health damage at the end of the day. Twins have to use M1 attacks often which is really weak.
It’s probably the most punishing attack in the game to miss, and it takes ~forever~ to down people and hook them.
You run up to someone, hit them, have to unleash victor, have to catch up, have to actually down them. Then you gotta go back to Charlotte, walk all the way over, and finally hook them and in the meantime 2 gens popped.
She’s only good for slugging and camping which are easily punished by the survivor meta.
-
No, for all it’s flaws it’s still easily one of my favorite games of all time
-
Sure, pretty easily. Although I honestly stopped running most of the meta perks since DBD really likes to give you rainbow ranks and it’s usually better to just watch out for yourself in soloQ.
Often the team will be demolished with little you can do about it and in those instances you will be happy to have selfish perks instead of the meta.

I forgot about that one. I guess it could be added to the list.
You may as well put iron will in there as well. I consider it anti-tunnel because if the killer comes straight back to the hook it’s going to be the only thing that stops them from immediately finding you and gives you a chance to slip away.

Title should be "sick of bot teammates".
Killer gameplay is hard and stressful the second a DECENT (not even god like) SWF team joins the lobby. Why is that the case?
It's not just communication. It's also the fact they're actually DOING gens.
Meanwhile solo queue with Bond:
You see people
- hiding in random corners on red ranks especially at the start of the game because no one wants to get chased even though it's braindead easy against most killers.
- crawling behind objects as soon as they're injured doing nothing.
- plundering chests.
- tbagging together in the basement (I once looped a Wraith for multiple minutes in 1 single chase expecting all gens to pop, then saw all 3 teammates tbagging each other in the basement when I got caught and hooked. After the match the killer told me they were trolls that did nothing but HEAD ON attempts all game).
Maybe the MMR system that drops next patch will sort things out. Right now it's safe to say that 90% of all red rank and even purple rank survivors belong to yellow ranks based on their decision making and looping.
I’ve seen the head on throws before. There was this one Steve who literally tried to head on me from the exact same locker all game. I just assumed he was drunk.
The you tubers don’t help. I saw someone claiming head on to be more toxic than object. I looked at the matches and the killers were default hag, default doctor, default trapper. Cherry picking the matches much? Although I do love how popular they made the dumb tech because I have enduring on half the time and just grab them.
-
With a chest build I can get one like every other game. I also have probably hundreds across all my survivors. There’s an offering to spawn the hatch in the main building or at the killer shack which I have tons of already.
Not to mention free bond on a teammate, or maybe some wall hacks on the killer while you are at it.
The devs already said they are getting nerfed so it’s almost pointless to discuss it.
-
@scottymo said:
keys are fine get Gud. Love to see the data on how matches % a survivor, at least 1 opens the hatch with a key. Only 2 rare and ultra rare keys open hatches. Let’s talk about how hard it is to find the hatch unless you waste that otherwise useless bill perk or have a map which means you don’t have a key. The hatch only gives that 8m audible when it is open. Then show me the total hatch escape data even the last survivor hatch. Too much killer crying these days when the game still skews killer.
You know you can just use a “hatch will spawn here” offering, which are very common?

A few things come to mind
1) They're bad at the game and just want to feel some kind of accomplishment
2) they just got rolled by a good team and wanted to make someone suffer like they did
3) They're just mean spirited
4) they had a sacrifice daily or were trying to do something specific for a tome and you were just a means to an end
How about they identified a bad looper and want to win the game? I usually tunnel bad players unless they are so hideously bad I don’t think they are a threat at all.
Tunneling someone out at 3-5 gens left is the most reliable way to win in the game. DS doesn’t matter if they are bad at looping and go right back down anyways.
There’s no time to be nice in DBD against a good team, and you never know if you are playing against a good team or a bad one until it’s too late.
-
Survivors sitting under hook is like one of the biggest throws in the game. You have literally no reason to leave unless you only have 1 gen left or something.

You don't gotta do that. Some people are just like that. I get that sometimes. I don't t bag, clicky flashlight , moonwalk or taunt with emotes. I've had it happen I'd say twice with my current survivor build that's lightweight, deception, dance w/ me and inner strength. Now if I added on how many times I've been tunneled off the hook while having that I'd lose count. I at least understand if I'm the last guy and there's no way to defend the closest gate.
To be fair, playing red rank killer is so predictable I feel like I could have a dart board and it would always land on one of these things....
- Sent to extremely survivor sided map
- Survivor quick swaps in item
- Key in the lobby
- Toxic SWF
- 12+ second chance perks ingame
- 2 gens completed before corrupt intervention is over
- 4% into DS/Unbreakable resetting the game
At some point you stop caring and just camp and tunnel everybody you can get your grubby hands on

The option would be to continue what you were doing previously. Since it was a SWF and you a Bubba. The logical thing would of been to wait out the DS while staying near the basement.
If it was a SWF I doubt they would of left them if you stayed near the basement and not in it.
That would have been a game losing move. I only had the luxury to proxy camp the basement because I got the hook somewhat early. It was also a bad basement out in a corner by itself with no generators that close by, no 3 gen to speak of.
A trade would have lost me the game at that point since it was disturbed ward, they had 2 BNPs, and the first gen got done in around ~40 seconds. They would have finished the last 2 gens by the time I waited around for a DS unbreakable and after the guy unhooks from his unbreakable; there was no guarantee there would not be a second DS unbreakable.
I’m at red ranks so a 2k is usually a depip; especially if the gens were getting slammed and you are playing a 1 shot killer.
The fact most killers have to sit around waiting for arbitrary invincibility timers in a game where the gens can be done in 4 minutes is one of the reasons I play Pyramid Head so much.

Maybe you should hook one of them next time. Who's the one who didn't take Unbreakabill into account?
Oh and I guess the other options would have been, eat the DS and lose all my pressure.
Or “take the unbreakable into account”, stand at the top of the basement stairs, and let the other survivors finish the generators for free and lose the game with a 2k depip.

Maybe you should hook one of them next time. Who's the one who didn't take Unbreakabill into account?
It would not matter at all in those situations?
Here’s a game I played today. I have a guy in the basement, am patrolling nearby gens / proxy camping it because it’s a 3 stack SWF with full items so I’m not in the business of giving them any second chances.
Guy hook bombs the basement. Down them both through BT because I’m Bubba. Hook the savior, leave the other guy slugged. Move off to an infectious proc. Down him, get another proc, and now I’m chasing the last survivor.
Unhooked guy unbreakables and game is completely reset. No counters to that. If I had been playing wraith or something that probably would have lost me the game.
-
I literally expected to open this and read “then I got teabagged”
-
I mean plenty of killers are pure chase and no mobility. There’s nothing wrong with that.
I am just worried because I hear there is a detonation delay on the gas now; which I think would make him worse.
Not that I think he is terrible or anything, he is pretty beastly in a chase with good addons and perks.

Console players are the worst for BMing for some reason. I dunno what it is.
They really are. I get BMd even when they are losing. I feel like I see it way more unprovoked from Purple/Green ranks than Red too.
I had some rank 6 console Bill last game in the basement, and didn’t feel like camping it (5 gens left) so I moved off. Next time I see him he is camping every pallet and teabagging behind them. Still killed him but I wish I did it on his first hook; the bastard.
I will admit the most satisfying thing in DBD is playing tombstone Myers against some clueless teabagging fool who doesn’t realize you are just building evil / play with your food stacks until you pop tier 3 and murder them outright.
