I still use them a fair amount, either for a glory kill or to ignore a death hook DS.
-
Here’s a few of my games from today. It looked fine for the most part?

I wasn't saying these particular survivors were optimal. There isn't enough evidence to know how they played.
I was agreeing the 4 optimal survivors are hard to beat.
Yes they are but how often do you see that? I want to say 90% of my killer games are pub stomping solo Qs. I can’t even remember the last time I hit an object SWF and the last time I played against an Object I was Freddy and the guy DCd at the first loop.
I beat SWF with Bubba all the time. He’s not statistically the third most deadly killer at red ranks for no reason.
This guy had a bad build and no addons. To face off against people with full builds and items. Why people refuse to even run brown addons is beyond me, I’m typically rocking purples and greens almost every game.

I'll agree that beating 4 optimal survivors is almost impossible.
But why camp and tunnel the next group of casual solos OP faces.
Take the names, and dodge them next time.
Nah I don’t agree. The only perks that would have really even done anything there is object.
You can’t dead hard if you are getting 1 shot, can’t use resilience if you are getting 1 shot. Even if you do dead hard the saw goes on long enough you probably still saw them anyways unless they are dead Harding to a window. Bubba can saw straight through BT.
Can’t use an instant medkit if you get sawed. Healing doesn’t matter against Bubba if he’s good with the saw.
Flashlights hardly matter against Bubba since you can just look to the side while charging the saw at pallets, look at walls while you pick people up.
He definitely could have gotten a 2k there with good play at a minimum.

As I've said to other people. It's kind of just a precaution in case I'm doing bad.
Blood warden is probably his best precaution. You can play by the survivor rule book and still have an endgame to play out.
I chainsaw injured survivors half the time just because I can. I can go entire games without M1ing on Bubba. Using M1 perks is pretty pointless since you should be chainsawing at every pallet loop.

I personally get no use out of whispers. I mean yeah it tells you when someone is near, but that's it. I dont find that useful especially with how aggressive survivors usually are.
I find it to be the best tracking perk in the game. With good map knowledge it lets you triangulate positions of survivors. It’s also the best 4K perk in the game.
When into a map first I check the non corrupted generators, to make sure nobody spawned nearby me.
On some maps the survivors can spawn like 6-8 seconds from you and you would never know without whispers, and would wander off into corrupted territory to find a chase while they complete the first gen.
If you find the hatch, the last survivor will never get the exit gate open if you have whispers.
Aggressive survivors should be dying pretty fast if you are playing well as Bubba. I almost exclusively use M2 on him. I run purple chili most games, and either do double chili or chili and the light chassis. Purple chili is enough to force a pallet drop at any loop in the game if you bamboozle the associated window.

I appreciate the constructive criticism.
I mean technically BBQ is tracking but it won’t help you right at the start which is when you want tracking the most. It’s not guaranteed information that perks such as discordance, whispers, or surveillance provide.
If the first generator or two you see someone working on you can’t find the survivor you will have big problems with that build.
If the survivors are good at looping you will be in for a bad time at jungle gyms, L T walls, and the shack. Bamboozle makes getting a chainsaw in at those areas like 10 times easier or at least instantly force the pallet drop.
Infectious is great on Bubba, as is the monitor / whispers combo since you will know the location of survivors before they even hear your terror radius.
-
Not at all. No tracking perks, no early game slowdown, overcharge is mediocre. Bubba does not need any 1 shot perks if you are good with his chainsaw.
I usually do Corrupt, Whispers, Infectious/Monitor, and Bamboozle for my rank 1 Bubba games. Bamboozle is just too good on Bubba to not use.
-
Play normal, leave them for dead at the endgame if possible. There was a SWF I always hated playing against and would mori them every game over the course of months (this is pre cross play) and ended up on their team at one point.
It was a pretty solid match, but at the end I keyed out and tried to get one guy killed. But they were very solid legacy players and the guy looped the Billy all the way across the entire map to the exit gate.
Some of my most exciting games were playing with people I hated. There was one guy I didn’t like for a reason I can’t remember (this was like 3 years ago) and we ended up on the same team.
I started the game off doing a gen with him and blowing it up to get the killer to come over. Then we both tried to sandbag each other at a pallet as he chased us. It was a Freddy with dying light and a mori and I was the obsession and he went for me, but ended up DCing because it was old Freddy and back then the game was pallet town so he got schooled.

What are you, Rank 18 as killer?
Getting DS'd after hooking a survivor, hooking another survivor, and then downing the original happens to me once a week. 60 seconds is a loooong time and you just stop thinking about DS in these situations.
I was gonna say, the guy must be at brown ranks or something. I see DS almost every game at purple/red ranks.
That said, I guess it really depends what killer I’m playing if I care about it or not. If you are playing some of the stronger killers I can see why it’s in the game. Especially against solo Q teams.
I get DSd constantly. Either for killing survivors too fast, because I’m actually tunneling, or because survivors love to force it.
My only real problem is locker DS. Depending on my mood I do play “nice” sometimes as killer and just go for the basic gameplay of swapping targets and letting survivors get easy unhooks because I like blood points; but nothing ends that faster than someone locker DSing me. I usually just tunnel them out of the game after that. Unbreakable won’t help them in that situation at all.

What happened in the last month that made Killers stop playing? All I can think of is the bad DLC but that should've made both sides play less
Probably a lot of salt over the mori shadownerf while keys remained intact. If I had bought blight with money instead of shards I would also be pretty upset about the undying nerf. There was also the Pyramid Head nerf when if you looked at the stats was the most played killer at almost 10% across all ranks.

It’s not ridiculous. @MadLordJack put it perfectly.
I like to pair Blood Echo with Mindbreaker. This can sometimes mean one injured survivor exhausted from one activation of Blood Echo may STILL not yet recovered from that before Blood Echo activates a second time, resetting their existing exhaustion timer back to 45 seconds again.
So half your build to potentially counter a dead hard or two? Plenty of survivors don’t even run exhaustion perks which makes that build entirely worthless.
Blood echo is a very mediocre perk, I really don’t think it needs a cooldown.

Well it's fair enough but being you're depending on losing to get it's full effect.
If you're used to killing people and coup de grace with 4 to 3 gens left this perk is useless
I mean sometimes I don’t feel like sweating too hard and want to run some meme/fun perks instead of the meta; especially against console solo Qs where half the team is probably going to be incompetent at looping anyways.
I have been playing a fair amount of coup / endfury Myers and honestly I win most of my games without needing either.
But it’s still hilarious to lunge halfway across the shack at somebody, get a pallet smashed over my head, spirit fury it off, and then make another massive lunge to end the game.
-
I really like Myers and Wraith. Ghostface doesn’t really get any fun addons to use. Same story with legion. The addons don’t change anything about how they are going to play.
Myers is the go big or go home type, turning into one of the strongest killers in tier 3. Wraith is mostly hit and run, but definitely is a ton of fun with good addons. Both of them can equip game sanctioned wall hacks.

1 hit per generator that is not a good trade-off
It takes two hits to down a survivor if if they heal up again and you managed to hit them down with no interruptions for example a save and hook them it takes 6 hits altogether to to kill somebody.
There are four survivors making that a total of 24 hits altogether.
5 guaranteed hits means nothing especially when you practically have to throw the game to get them.
Hell even as a killer who mostly uses their power like huntress or Billy it's not worth it you'll either just end up doing your job with their power and barely needing to basic attack to make the Perk slot worth it or you will have to force out their heads at which stage you're not getting any file you because you could just play normally
I think it’s pretty good on Myers. He is typically gonna lose a gen for his first tier 3 anyways and the lunge goes ridiculously far. If he gets 2 downs in a row he can end the game off it.
No matter which way you slice it the coup lunge is extremely strong anti loop. It’s also very satisfying to use even if it ends up being a flex perk sometimes.
-
Because discordance and tinkerer are better. That’s about it. I’ve seen some spirits do it with surveillance but that’s because with the busted mother daughter ring + amulet combo she can patrol 4 gens in a single phase.
-
I mean you pretty much need: ruin undying, corrupt pop, to be extremely good with the killer, willing to tunnel the first guy you hook into the floor, or be running infectious fright and slug a ton.
I do a lot of rank 1 Bubba with no slowdown and it’s carried by the fact he can drop people in seconds if they don’t respect the saw.
Billy is the same way but since his nerf he’s a lot weaker at loops in my opinion. You should still be getting way more than 2 hooks a game though, even ones you lose. If you are not getting downs fast enough you should run more chase perks.
-
I think it should just activate no matter what. If you hit them within 15 seconds you were probably pretty close to the hook anyways.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it being used to body block either, it’s a risky move and you might just end up getting tunneled for it. Or if it’s an obvious borrowed time play I usually see if I can wait it out.
If it’s being used to secure escapes at the endgame I don’t see a problem with that. The survivors need a way to escape if the killer did poorly throughout the match.
-
It’s a casual hack and slash horror game on the competitive level of Mario kart. I don’t think the ridiculous skins are too out of place.

I just figured someone would come in and be like "hOw CaN yOu CoMpLaIn AbOuT tHeM wHeN yOu FaCeCaMpEd WiTh BuBbA??" lol
I mean honestly Bubba is plenty strong to play into a meta SWF. I see too many Bubbas who never saw when the play is to literally saw at every loop. With purple chili + bamboozle he can saw you though basically every loop in the game.
As a backup you probably still could have just camped out a 2k which is a tie game.
-
@Zeus said:
Coup de Grace shouldn't consume a token if the lunge doesn't exceed the default lunge distance. It's a simple QoL change and makes the perk a little better with killers like Myers and also counters dead hard directly (maybe).
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. I’ve done short range lunges before and didn’t lose my tokens for it.
As for the perk itself, I kinda like it on killers who mainly M2. Huntress, Billy, Bubba, etc. So you have a tendency to have a few stacks saved and can dump them into a bad chase to quickly end it or clutch out a hit you really need.

Exactly we were all new once. Plus I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to take the opportunity to have a chill match and not have to deal with higher rank SWF and be able to relax and get a load of bloodpoints and give everyone a chance to enjoy the game instead of just slugging and hopefully managing to safety pip at most.
Well I can sympathize because I’ve tried to get friends into this game before and run into the exact same problem. DBD has a somewhat steep learning curve.
I just got out of a match exactly like it too. I gen grabbed a survivor with Leatherface (no stealth perks) and I’m thinking “this guy must be drunk” and then get to the endgame screen and he was rank 18 with 1 perk. When I’m at rank 1 and running like Ultra rare addons with a full build.
-
@Kirkylad said:

There's nothing wrong with tunnelling, camping or slugging when its needed and its a valid strat, but when you're going up against brand new players who you'd clearly beat either way whether it's how the game works or not it's still a crappy move.
Yeah I don’t get why you would bleed the survivors out anyways. Just hook them and move onto the next game, I’ll BM them as they die if they were annoying.
And I do feel kinda bad when I get a SWF that’s like 1-2 red rank survivors and their rank 16 friends who have 2 perks on Dwight or something and I’m using some of the strongest available killer builds.
Making red rank survivors kill themselves on hook is funny to me but when it’s babies I usually feel like they might just stop playing the game.
-
I don’t even know why it has a cool down honestly. It procs and I think to myself “maybe got rid of a dead hard”, big deal.
And then I get to the endgame screen and only 1-2 people had exhaustion perks anyways.
-
Really? I actually like using his recharge addons sometimes.
Green duration + green recharge feels kinda nuts. You can make soooo many trails so fast and absolutely cover an area in them, making a 3 gen super deadly. It charges just as fast as you expend it and can spend half the game with your sword in the ground.

@WantToKnow said:
My point is that killers powers can work against the perks and other way round. Survivors have no power which is blocked by a perk. They work fluently with what happens in the game. DH -> u will get injured, DS -> free protection... But maybe except of Inner Strength, you dont waste your time. Perks like STBFL punish you for hitting Obsession, Pop/Bq is only PH issue I think, Dying light buffs the Obsession, Trail of torment tells survivors where the killer may come from, Surge only on M1, Same Gearhead, PWUF you get punished for failing M2 and so on.
As a 300hrs killer I have to face 800+ hrs survivors and there I dont feel to have a choice how to win a chase.
Its like perks for survivors that wont activate if they use a toolkit. From a PH point of view, I feel just restricted on using perks that I like to play and use my unique power when I want to.
I hope my point is more clear with my bad english.
You main Pyramid Head and are complaining about DS? He’s the one killer who hardly has to deal with it.
He is restricted because the survivors are as well. He counters almost all the most annoying survivor perks.
And you can play him like an absolute scumbag. Slap on stridor and go tunnel people out of the cages for some of the fastest kills you can get in DBD.
There’s also no rule saying you have to cage people.
Also you can M2 the obsession to preserve STBFL stacks which is why it’s a really solid choice on him.

Would it be op though, just means survivors would have to be much more aware at the start of a match.
Yes. I play a ton of Bubba and with good addons his chainsaw dash is around 35-40 meters long I would guess. I run whispers and typically find my first chase in the first 20-30 seconds of the game. It would be really nuts to just walk up to a gen and chainsaw somebody right off the bat every match.
-

After 4 years, wearing a headset stepping on a Hag trap still makes me dribble in my underpants a little.
Making all killers have no terror radius for 1-2min at the start of every game could add some jump scares. Would only be at start of game but somethings better than nothing.
That would be so OP. You can already run trail of torment if you want to be a spooky killer.
-
Run object of obsession, resilience, dead hard, spine chill. You will die a lot but getting the killer to chase you all the time is good practice.
-
When I want a really easy game?
Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, Discordance Freddy with a Paint Brush, Swing Chains, and Mori.

Only you don't need to tunnel just the ones bad at looping if you have a chainsaw. I think, once again, you're missing the point. It isn't that he was mowing everyone down like grass. It was that he did that, said something nasty to me after the match, and then proceeded to tunnel me across multiple matches because I clapped back. He didn't care about "good killers don't need to tunnel." He cared about ruining one person's experience over and over. He stood in front of my hook, chainsawing me over and over until I hit second stage, then left so someone could unhook me and he could mori me.
No, you really do unless you are running like 3 perks dedicated to slowing down gens. My games are over in ~6 minutes I want to say if I only have Corrupt. Ruin Undying is about to be gutted and I don’t feel like spending a ton of time kicking gens with pop.
Killing someone off in the first few minutes is borderline mandatory.
If someone is targeting you in any games you play with them, you probably did something annoying.
I remember most people who played extremely toxic and you can be sure I bring a mori for them if I see them again. Although to be fair, it’s pretty much most survivors these days. I can hardly get a match without teabagging, keys, object of obsession, etc so I just play toxic to everyone for the most part.

Heavy doubt, but okay. I feel like you're so focused on making it not the killer's fault that you're missing the forest for the trees.
No not really I have played the game for many years rank 1 both sides. I choose to play killer all the time now because doing generators bores me. I never complain about tunneling because being chased by the killer is the only fun I have as survivor.
A good killer is never going to tunnel a good survivor; it will cost too much. It’s really as simple as that. You only tunnel bad players who can’t loop because it’s an easy kill.

I don't think most people in my matches even use BT. We were all just trying to get literally anything done, but without the sort of coordination you expect from maybe rank 1 SWF, we were pretty much doomed. It didn't matter if we ran, it didn't matter if we healed or hid or tried to do a gen. Any unhook attempts were just a free hook for him as he downed both. After the first round of hooks, I think it was just too out-of-hand for people so uncoordinated to pull back. Between those double downs and the Ruin, we lost too much momentum to pull it back, and the mori really just crushed it.
And they weren't saving "in front" of him at first, he was wandering off to check gens but it was a MacMillan map and there wasn't a lot of ways to avoid him. The middle was all those piles of junk, the jungle gyms were all dead ends and long walls, and he could see everything. Then it was just trying to pull someone off hook while he downed/hooked someone else, then he immediately came back. It felt like we were just stuck in the same place among these stupid crates the whole match.
Its really not that hard to counter leather face. You beat him the same as every killer in the game. Throw pallets, split up, rush gens.
If you have a potato team that dies in the first chainsaw sweep that’s not a Bubba problem, that’s a survivor problem. They would die to any other killer in the game just as trivially.

But That's like, not tunneling. That's just, you're all right here and that's the weak one. It's not at all like what I experienced. Maybe it will help if I explain that these were Bubba and Doctor? Basically, Bubba did what he does. Chainsawed one person down, ran off. Came back as soon as someone went for the save, mowed them both down. They separated, so he left one behind. The rest of us didn't know if we could risk getting the slug up while he chased the other, but it didn't matter because he got them and chucked on hooks. From there, it was just an awful snowball of him keeping anyone from healing lest they both get slugged, but anyway chainsaw. They'd get just enough time to rescue, but then bam, chainsaw again. Someone tried to go back to gens but they'd all regressed because Ruin/Undying. Once someone got off second hook, bam, mori. And then he did the same thing in each other match I had with him, only made sure I was the first to die each time.
It’s like you should not save in front of a leather face or something. I was watching the VOD of some streamer I played against and he was like “Bubba so OP” when I sawed straight through him and his BT save that he decided to make when I clearly noticed him going for the unhook.
Survivors are too used to crutching on that perk and it’s glorious killers have ways to bypass it these days.

Also wraith is worse without addons
Tell that to this guy, he makes 50 win streaks in a row look like a joke. Try it perkless.
-
I slug almost every game for pressure. My typical plan is to secure a hook, and then slug everyone else I find. It’s the most consistent way I have found to win the game.
Here is a great example. And heck naw I’m not playing the garbage known as the twins. I’m playing Bubba. The beast. I bet some of these guys were rank 1 until they hit my lobby.

He also went for the person that was unhooked instead of the healthy person that unhooked them. And slugged the poor thing and proxied for 60 seconds to wait out DS to secure his second hook of the match
So what? You really got to play this game at a high level with no slowdown perks to really appreciate how asinine these complaints are.
If you play with no slowdown at red rank, the games are typically 5-6 minutes long. Win or lose. If you think I am going to feel bad about killing somebody in 2-3 minutes in a 6 minute game you are very wrong.
If half these survivor mains played by their own rules they would lose every single game, and that’s why they only play survivor.

They purposely avoided a chase to go back to hook and said "i don't want to loop"
If that's not camping idk what is
I camp all the time, and you are right. I don’t feel like running another 4-5 safe pallets in a row when I have a 3 gen and a hook secured. There’s no reason other than giving survivors more second chances (like they can’t equip enough).
-
Anybody who complains about camping / tunneling / slugging needs to go play like 10-20 perkless and addonless clown games at red ranks.
Get back to me when you actually win those games playing by the survivor rule book.
-
I mean who cares what killer and killer perks you run? Half of survivors use the same 5-6 perk cookie cutter build.
Use what you want, when you want it. Salty survivors will be salty no matter what you do if you win.

I mean I’m not saying it’s terrible but there’s very little reason to play it over all seeing silent bell wraith.
More mobility, more map pressure, he can actually run loops still, he still gets totally free hits, much higher chances of gen grabs, etc.

Play him all the way to rank 1. You will find he is not nearly as easy as you claim if the survivors are good at looping.

Honestly, that build isn’t that good anymore. You want silent bell + wall hacks wraith these days. You lose a bit of the wall hack range but run around at 125% and have a massive lunge instead of going at 105% with a pitiful lunge.
-
This killer brings joy to my heart and I play him like 80% of the time now.
Assuming I play well he can never be bullied, demolishes pallets, he crushes bad teams, and anyone being toxic can be camped to death with impunity.
That said, there’s still way better killers to play. This one is just my style. He also never pips like ever if you are good at sawing people.

Nothing must be implemented. The comms doesn’t make as much of a difference as you’d think. Telling your friends “I’m about to be downed by the killer” isn’t that helpful.
The disadvantage to the killer is losing a chase. The calculus is the same, comms or not. Down a survivor, hook them, find another survivor, hook them. All teams crumble to this.
If the killer’s not winning chases, it isn’t because people talked it into happening. They played better.
Just saying “I’m going for the save do gens” is the difference between 2 people slamming gens while 1 person saves, or 3 people all swarming the hook.
Or maybe with Object;
“The killer is X”
”The killer spawned here”
Or maybe “I have unbreakable don’t worry about picking me up”
SWF can coordinate map/key escapes as well as have significantly more resources to offer survivor sided maps and hatch offerings.
SWF gets bond, kindred, empathy, aftercare, immunity to blindness, etc all for free. If they play poorly and don’t take advantage of that it doesn’t mean other better groups do not.

The person who opened the hatch was also a pub so we had no communication with him either. Not to mention the door was literally 99% and a 5 feet away from the hatch so what was the issue? This is my last response as I'm pretty certain you are either trolling or didn't read half of what I said or even watch the video. Sick take though looting chests to make the game take longer than necessary is totally meta and as strong as all those meta perks like UB/DS
There were still 8 second chance perks that game. If one person has DS you have to play like all 4 people have DS.
The chest build + extra chests is equivalent to bringing a key so even if that guy managed to win it would been a loss due to a key because you need ~80 seconds of cumulative generator time across 3 survivors to win with a key.
And you are right I just skimmed it because I’m not watching some baby killer get dunked on for 10 minutes in between you holding M1.
