I see some of you recommended Whispers, but what perk should I remove for it? Infectious Fright?
Yeah, demo is honestly pretty weak anyways. I’m not sure why people like running infectious on him so much. I only use infectious on killers who absolutely drop people.
It’s good for 4king at the end but whispers is almost just as good to 4K with if not better. It takes some time to get used to it but it’s easily one of my favorite perks.
If you don’t need blood points BBQ is optional as well.

There is a difference between an immersed survivor and two survivors purposely hiding after they created a 3 gen situation and are refusing to progress the game.
Yeah? And there’s nothing you can do about it really because it happens somewhat often. Reporting isn’t likely to do anything at all.
32m is a massive warning and easy to avoid, 24m not so much, and 16m is approaching stealth killer territory where you just walk into people by accident.
-
It’s a risk you run playing a 32m terror radius killer without whispers or monitor.
Immersive survivors are super annoying even when they are doing generators so I typically run one or the other.
-
Hex perks are garbo on like 80% of maps and only made viable by undying.
The nerf will usher them back into oblivion; and everyone will go back to corrupt pop once they realize devour undying will still get cleansed in the first two minutes of the game half the time.
-
The more chainsaws the better
-
Yes, I have Bose headphones and when the audio isn’t bugged it’s really easy to listen for footsteps.
Enable spatial sound and bump the audio quality up to 2 in the configuration file.
Not to mention the stand still “mindgame” that works too often. No other killer gets me downs for literally standing still.

I'm by no means saying you can't use his chainsaw, I'm simply saying that his chainsaw isn't incredibly effective often times given that you are restricted to a very predictable movement pattern. The issue with his chainsaw sweep is that while you are able to moonwalk and change direction, most of the time if the survivor is smart enough to play safe then they can either utilize a pallet or window. Basic mindgames will only get you so far against high quality survivors, as they will be patient and know when to commit one way or another based on how far away the killer is. The chainsaw doesn't provide particularly fast movement speed, so it's largely useless at many tiles as long as the survivor isn't greedy.
In relation to the clip you attached, I noticed that the survivor didn't know the timing of stuns, that's why they weren't getting them. At filler pallets like that I certainly agree that Bubba is strong, and any bit of greed or not timing a stun will lead to a quick chase. You did very well with cutting corners tightly and not respecting pallets, which is how you should play those tiles. My point is primarily about windows, however, and without bamboozle Bubba feels a bit m1 heavy at tiles with windows.
It didn’t even matter if they did, because I had double chili and those first two sweeps were a single charge and even the third pallet was only 2 charges. They either drop it or die and getting a stun with dedicated servers is sketchy.
Obviously I use bamboozle, which reduces any tile into practically another filler pallet. The only thing that can hurt is a nasty double window setup but even then I can just leave that area.
And I don’t see how instantly destroying pallets is a “largely useless” ability and I play this character into 3-4 man rank 1 SWFs regularly and win.
Especially with some slowdown perks you can quickly clear out a deadzone. A 3 gen against Bubba is a nightmare on top of his extremely strong hook defense and any early basement hook can mean GG.
He is more than adequate to completely roll 95% of solo Q teams.

@tomas11403 said:
Bubba is one of the weakest killers in the game against good survivors. His power is far too straight forward with very little room for mindgames, and it is countered incredibly hard by windows, and fairly well by pallets. Good survivors love facing Bubba because he is pretty much a standard 4.6 m1 killer unless you get greedy, and a killer who solely relies on m1s is very weak. Eventually you may get sawed in chase, but the only reason this should happen is a mistake such as losing a mindgame or running to a deadzone. As for camping, this means he is resorting to 1 kill, as 3-4 gens can easily be completed if he chooses to camp. Sure this isn't fun for the person on hook, but it means the other 3 pretty much get a free escape.
Leatherface's insta-down is far from free unless you make a mistake, and if he is getting multiple downs from one saw, that's on the survivors, not a very mediocre killer being OP.
M1 killer? Maybe if the Bubba is bad. I use him almost entirely as M2.
https://clips.twitch.tv/SparklingDignifiedShrimpDoubleRainbowNote with the addons I had it was either feed me a pallet every time I pulled up the saw or go down.
Any mindgame you can do at loops with an M1 killer you can do with the chainsaw.

I don't think Bubba's power is cheap or forgiving, as I said I still think he's harder than any of the M1 killers. I just think saying he's among the hardest killers is too much.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1900966#Comment_1900966
Well, if you go into every match running a boosted addon ofc you'll find him easier than Bubba.
I would just because I don’t consider there to be very many difficult killers in dbd. The only killers that make you go into a game and have to plan out every single attack would be Nurse, Pyramid Head, Blight, Curve Billy, and maybe Doctor.
Everyone else is very simple to play. So I’m not saying Leatherface is super difficult but difficult in comparison to the other killers.

Topknot is easily on the top 5 strongest addons in the game, of course you'll find it easy. Try dashing against a good survivor without addons on a long wall or a TL wall.
I don’t play without addons because why would I?
I run BBQ a lot and have more addons than I could ever use.
There’s no real reason for me to go into games without them.

You're really overstimating how hard Bubba's chainsaw is. How is it harder than Oni's dash if he can literally 360 while dashing at more than 5m/s? Oni's dash at least has a limited turn rate even with his flick.
I play a plenty of Bubba myself, so I know he has some problems on some maps. I still think his chainsaw is fairly easy to maneuver just because of how forgiving his charges are. If you use them correctly you can easily end any pallet loop in under 10 seconds. On window loops it's a bit harder, but 90% of Bubba players run Bambozlee so it's not like it's impossible to deal with them.
I’m not saying it’s incredibly difficult or anything, with the except of some really annoying loops. But compared to most other killer powers it’s still more difficult to execute.
I’m probably biased because half the time I’m playing crack Oni (topknot + Akito’s crutch) but I find drowning people with him trivial. You see them and they are dead or feed you a pallet and then they are dead. It’s not hard to do at all and there’s no real way to screw it up like you can with Bubba.
-

How is Bubba hard lmao. You Bambozlee a window, charge up your chainsaw and let his 3 charges give you either an instadown or a good pallet. I agree M1 killers are easier than him, but saying Bubba is harder than Oni, Deathslinger and Huntress is just forcing too much.
Sawing around plenty of loops is relatively difficult. Hawkins, The Game, Yamamoka maps, Midwhich, and Lerys all come to mind. Macmillan maps have plenty of busted tree hitboxes. Yamamoka has these stupid hanging vines that for some reason stop a chainsaw.
And it’s probably the second most punishing attack in the game to miss, the first being a victor lunge.
Deathslinger is a point and click adventure, I’ve played plenty of FPS games in my life.
Oni is just straight up overpowered in his ability, and I always use good addons on him. He’s like playing bumper Billy and doing flicks isn’t too hard.
Huntress hitboxes carry even mediocre players. It’s a sad state of affairs when the hits don’t even look good on the killers screen either, let alone for the survivor who is going down while completely around a wall.

The way around this is to realize "you are not responsible for anyone else's fun".
Now let me qualify that statement, it is not to say you have free license to grief or harass or bully others.
The very thematic element of this game is 4 people try to escape a vicious killer who is out to murder/devour/sacrifice them to some dark entity. So taking on the vicious killer role will you choose to do these heinous things politely or efficiently?
So I play thematically, what would a vicious killer like LF or Myers do in this situation, chase the bleeding guy or let him go and heal up and chase the other guy ensuring everyone gets a fair go. Remember if you go the fair route it is likely you will still cop abuse, so as killer you still weather the cost of a less proficient playstyle and the post game abuse. Not a great deal.
Just make the choices you think are best at the time and forget about whether that choice will be frowned upon by some arbitrary opinion of how the game should be played or what's fair.
When you have the experience to wreck even the most dedicated swf brute squad then you have the luxury to pick and choose how polite you want to be. Till then make the play you think is best, or enjoy most, not the play some random other person thinks you should play.
Win, lose or draw if you played it your way then you'll be satisfied. No amount of sore loser/bad winner tantrum salt can take that from you and nor should it.
Honestly I feel like the whole survivor rule book thing would not exist if the matchmaking was better.
You are usually only in a position to be a “nice killer” if your opponents are significantly worse than you. And to be fair, that happens a lot in this game.
But when you actually get opponents of equal skill the game is usually a frantic back and forth struggle with no room for mercy.

@RayrafLPP said:
But both of them have downsides:
Corrupt is really bad if you want to run a hex build, because if a survivor is spawning next to a blocked gen they will cleanse totems of course.
Also it runs out eventually and some people could pull of some decent hiding. It has the possibillity to fail.
Tinkerer just gives information always.
Monitor makes OoO stronger, but its a great perk in many situations, but it is not great on every killer.
Tinkerer is nice on everyone imo.
So Overall i think its the best^^
You can have your opinion of course! just want to express why i think its the best perk on average :)
Well that’s why I typically run them all together. On really strong chasing killers that I have lots of practice on I usually don’t feel the need for much slowdown.
Corrupt + Whispers is an amazing combo. The map is so much smaller when you know how to use whispers effectively. I find chases almost immediately many games.
It’s even better with monitor on top of it because then you get a heads up where the survivors are before they even hear the heartbeat; and by the time they notice you are breathing down their neck.
Object I don’t mind because as I said, I’m running this on strong chasers where my primary difficulty is usually just finding people. Once I get into a chase people usually don’t last long.
-
I’d have it as a tossup between whispers and corrupt. Maybe monitor and abuse.
Corrupt gives you so much breathing room at the start of the game, and whispers is the best tracking tool by a long shot.
Monitor and abuse can give you so much distance before you start a chase, and helps locate survivors who would normally already be in a hiding spot if you had a regular terror radius.
-
Simple BM. Some killers don’t have the builds or knowledge to drop/take terrible chases.
Like if I don’t have bamboozle and someone is humping the disturbed ward god window? I’m out, but you can be sure I’m gonna camp the crap out of them if I down them outside the building and probably smack them on hook too.

Damn, I didn't realise that I've never once faced a good survivor. Didn't realise that after 3 years of rank 1 I've never once at all faced someone who's good at the game. Thanks for enlightening me mr-I've-never-seen-your-gameplay, I'm really glad you can judge my exact playstyle based on that! It's really helpful bro.
Also, Mindbreaker/PGTW/BBQ/I'm All Ears. No RuinDying there anymore, hasn't been for 2 weeks and I'm still winning.
Maybe, just maybe, you're not as good as you think you are.
That’s a cute build, that really does mean the survivors are bad.
Try taking it into a 4 man rank 1 SWF or these guys.
Double key swap and a coldwind offering. I’m rank 2 cause I love tombstone Myers and 1 shot killers. I haven’t been using ruin for weeks.
I tunnel and camp regularly. If you think it’s bad strategy I can link you the VODs of a guy going on a 300+ win streak doing it?
But I guess a 99% win ratio is a bad strategy

Hey @Yamaoka remember that thread where I gave you Pyramid Head gameplay? Sorry man apparently I don't know how to play him and I'm really inexperienced.
It's not like I've put 500+ hours into exclusively him or anything.
It's not like I main the guy or anything.
It's not like I've streamed it to people and they've said I'm one of the best or anything.
Clearly I'm inexperienced as a killer because I'm good enough at the game to not need to tunnel people instantly.
My bad.
A killer that follows the rule book? That only means you are going against boosted survivors. I hate to tell you.
You can only play nice in this game with ruin undying or if the survivors are garbage. Luckily, most survivors are garbage; because ruin undying is being canned.

Considering how from my own personal experience it doesn't work particularly effectively and you're significantly better off splitting pressure across multiple survivors, yes I am 100% serious have a nice day.
You can’t split pressure with a non one shot killer unless the survivors are terrible. Medkits completely counter any hit and run strategy. The only pressure is a slug, or murdering someone outright.
Pyramid head can kill someone so quickly if you know how to use him, you will eat a DS from their first hook as you go to place them on death hook sometimes. Sorry if you are too inexperienced to have seen that yourself.

This is one of the least efficient ways of playing Pyramid Head and tunneling one survivor out of the game with cages from the start against a team who realise you're doing this will lose you the game.
Yeah, I just do it all the time because it doesn’t work. Getting someone completely defenseless who is already injured is a bad strategy. With one of the most powerful chasing killers in the game. Are you serious?

How do you play every killer in the game???? I switched to PC in maybe March/Arpil/May of 2020 from PS4. This is my current total hours on PC...
Cause DBD has been my primary game for almost 4 years now. I have every killer p3 50 except twins and blight because I hate blights POV and I hate twins in general.
I stand by that Bubba is harder to play than most killers in the game. Even screwing up 1 saw can lose you the game at red ranks, going around tight loops is terrifying with it.
-
I play every killer in the game, and honestly...
Sawing around loops with Bubba takes more skill than half the killers. Every M1 killer is easier to play. I’d argue huntress is easier because of the hitboxes. Trapper is easier, wraith is easier, Myers is easier, hag is easier, doctor is easier with addons, Freddy is way easier.
Let me break this up for some spacing. Pig is easier, clown is easier. Spirit is easier. Legion is easier, plague is easier, ghost face is easier, Oni is easier, slinger is easier, twins are easier.

Some people want to use the items they find through matches or through the bloodweb. Some people have to use them to get certain archives done. Some people are jerks about it.
Honestly if the community wasn't so wrapped up in this code about how keys are the worst thing in existence, we probably wouldn't have a nuclear stockpile to begin with. I have 86 keys across all my characters, and I don't use them because before it was an immediate ebony mori, and while I mostly thing the problem has been fixed on that end, it's still garbage to bring a key in and potentially ruin 3 other's game because the killer takes some personal offense to an item being brought into the game.
But maybe I've just been unlucky. Maybe it's really just an unlucky few who have tried to beat that concept into my head. "Bring a key, you get mori."
Bring key; get morid was the natural balance. Now it’s bring Franklins and get camped, which is less effective.
I can’t believe ruin undying is being nerfed first. No wonder less people play killer. I bet the devs look at the stats and it’s like “wow key users die a lot” when killers obviously tunnel them out of the game. It’s the same reason object isn’t getting nerfed

Its just the randomness of cages can work against you. Sometimes you'll cage and it'll pop up right next to a survivor and there goes your hook pressure. Tunneling is incredibly strong PH, absolutely, but his cages can help you immediately start another chase after you've just downed someone.
Yeah but that’s the price you pay for ignoring basically every meaningful survivor defensive perk. Sometimes it works for you and the cage spawns like 10-15 seconds away, especially on small maps.
With good addons it is trivial to torment survivors sometimes, and they can be chain caged to death. Especially with nurses or stridor to quickly locate them after they are saved.
I would never just save it for death hook, you might as well just use a mori.

Don't send survivors to cage unless you absolutely have to. For example, you can immediately chase after another survivor and get them down. I find it better to hook them until I can Mori them on the ground. It only takes a second after all.
What? That is terrible advice. One of the best ways to play Pyramid is send someone to a cage and then immediately tunnel them once they are rescued. You can kill people significantly faster than usual by doing that and bypass DS.
I would only hook on Pyramid head if I was behind and needed to camp someone.

Moniter is great but on clown I prefer full stealth instead of a decrease in terror radius
I always use monitor on clown. As with every killer, the first minute or two is the most important part of the game.
The difference between having a survivor at a gen being able to hide before you get there or you just walking into them and being within bottle toss range is massive.
But whatever floats your boat. I prefer perks that always give value every game.

@JPA said:
Yeah this won me a game as Huntress yesterday, I had someone hooked on my left, there was a generator towards the centre of the map I knew 2 people were on, and I was near a gen. I kicked the gen and just rushed them, the lack of TR allowed me to get a big drop on them as they must have been assuming I was camping the hook and looking in that direction. I was able to down the two on the generator pretty quickly and this perk played no small part in that.
I think with Huntress people are lulled into a sense of security as they can hear your lullaby pretty much all the time, so when you remove the TR they feel pretty safe.
Its OK but I still find monitor and abuse to be the most consistent stealth perk in the game.
With Huntress, the difference between a 12m terror radius and 0 is honestly not too much, it’s like 2 seconds at best and you are already in easy hatchet range by the time they hear it.
-
When I’m really feeling on point, Pyramid Head.
When I want some mindless hack and slash action, Leatherface.
-
It reminds me of a time I got stuck in horrible traffic on the interstate, and I finally get up to the front where it cleared up and it caused by an accident ~on the other side of the freeway~
-
I usually just dead hard for distance. You could also join the fixated sprint burst club or ascended lithe users.
-
I think a way better training tool would be the expanded gas area addons, then you don’t need to be particularly accurate at all and can just cover the entire loop in gas.
I don’t think clown can afford to run such a weak perk, and I doubt new killers will have access to it anyways.
Probably about the only killer I can see ZT being worth it on is Pyramid Head, but even then “I’m all ears” just does a better job.

It's how survivors often play. Look at how many people in this thread alone proclaim to 'just go back and get your item' or 'drop your item before you get hit', basically calling for making sure you (as survivor) are stationary in a specific spot.
That might not be a free kill, but def a free hit, because a lot of people WILL go back for their item, and get distracted looking for it.
Frankly (no pun intended) they should change it to not have the items dissolve again, but let the killer pick up the item (after a while) and put it down either during the match, give it back to the survivor if they escape without an item or turn it into addition bloodpoints if the survivor dies (also make it work with white ward)
Lmao. Why would the KILLER go and give survivors an item? Even the perk hoarder says “you protect what little you have” implying that the survivors are ~stealing~ from the killer each trial.
And two, if you think any competent killer has time to camp your brown medkit you are very wrong. I only bring Franklins for a key or like 4 medkits, that’s it.
There is no other reason to take it over extremely useful perks like pop goes the weasel, corrupt, whispers, ruin, bamboozle, monitor, or any other of the amazing perks that will actually do more than mildly inconvenience survivors.
-
There are pretty clear answers to most of your problems, although as clown they may be a bit more difficult to execute. If it’s an obvious SWF your best bet is to use the pinky finger for a 1 shot. That will put you on an even level with all but the most sweaty of groups.
Teabagging is whatever, if you are playing solid it’s usually a disadvantage for them to waste time standing still while you break the pallet. Especially if you hit them with an ether 10 or ether 15% bottle before you kick it. I almost always have brutal strength on clown.
Flashlights I don’t mind, with good headphones they don’t do much if you are picking up survivors while facing a wall.
Body blocking has a few answers, there is the perk forced penance. There is mad grit, and there is sloppy butcher. You can also attempt to smash a bottle on them and run past. Forced penance gets a bad rap but it’s honestly not bad for tunneling the crap out of somebody with an M1 killer.
Keys are broken, I will give you that one. You can try Franklins and camping it to death on the first drop (so they can’t hide it).

This sounds like an ideal situation I'd hope for as survivor.

Intetesting. I went against a lot of rainbow ranks when I play killers I don't often play and I was wondering if the Devs quietly activated MMR.
Nah I don’t think so, I usually get purples and reds. But these were the only lobbies that had keys.
I was playing a good amount of Myers / Oni until I was just thinking why am I wasting all this time to build up a 1 shot when this guy has it right off the bat along with super strong anti loop. I used to play Billy until his rework.
And Bubba had got the addon to make people drop keys so if it’s solo Q you can make them drop it in some random spot nobody will ever find and tunnel them to death.

Quick question. Did you recently start playing bubba or do you play him a lot and have played him a lot the past few days/months Nothing to do with your skills. Just curious
I’ve played him a ton over the past few months, starting when he got reworked. I do him and a few other killers but he’s just simply the best for pub stomping at the moment.
Nobody else can start the game off with a down in the first ~15 seconds of the game like I do with whispers sometimes. And he’s great for camping.

Because I usually play so that everyone can enjoy the game. Removing someone from the game without even giving them the possibility to do a gen, a totem, unhook their teammates or whatever else the game has to offer, feels wrong to me.
This is my personal decision, I know that you technically CAN tunnel if you want, and I also know that many survivors are little shits who don't care about the game being fun for the killer. But I'm trying to be kind, and not do what I hate being done to me if that makes sense.
Also, I often find that being kind to others makes them be kind to you in return, like a couple of days ago, when I let a console Meg escape through the gates, and one of the dead survivors told me she was his wife, thanked me for letting her escape and wished me good luck in the rest of my matches. Or when I decide to farm with survivors because one of their teammates DC'd, and they give me free kills when the match ends in return. It's those little things :)
Nah I disagree. I bring party streamers, play by the survivor rule book, and still get salt in the endgame chat.
I was playing nice the other day and a SWF tried to take advantage of it by attempting to chain head on stuns as well as abusing locker DS’s.
So forget it. The only reason I have to play nice in this game is to get extra hooks for blood points.
The flashlight survivors are usually a lot less cocky when they are getting tunneled out of the game, that’s for sure.
-
If you find a player who is bad at the game, why would you not tunnel them? It’s an easy kill. Such a simple thing, why even have to explain it?
