  • To recovery exhaustion faster. It's still useful.

Also exhaustion was nerfed a long long long time ago why are you only bringing this up now.

  • You don't need Ruin Undying to win but it is a gigantic boost in winnability.

Even just Ruin greatly increases your chances of 4King, using both perks increases your chances of winning and killing lots of survivors exponentially.

  • I like playing at low ranks, it's chill I don't have to worry about sweaty players usually. But whenever I derank due to reset or just not playing for a while I get back to red in a day or two. I end up missing low ranks.

However I have some friends who are newbs to the game and they play with me sometimes, so when they do I get to chill against a low rank killer again, and I'm happy.

  • Just keep on using your cakes boys.

I don't use cakes because I stopped caring about Blood Points a long time ago. Nowadays I hoard event items in my inventory. But I appreciate all the cake use you guys do I can get to 1,000,000BP in like 10 games, lets me hoard even more event items.

If a dev see's this, i Just want you Hear what i have to say, I dont get how it takes 2 MONTHS to fix frame drops, You guys have really mad alot of people annoyed about how you havent Been Bothered to fix this Massive Issue, Like i play blight, Everytime i Rush, Get a gen popped, Hit a survivor, when they dead hard, when we do anything We Just freeze for 3s, The only thing you guys care about is cosmetics and money, I just can't. When i get on dbd i Just play for 5 minutes and then I rage with how bad this is getting every single Patch.

Just fix Your game. Enough has Been said. Smh

If you are freezing for 3 seconds that's because you have a potato PC. Sheesh.

    Buy a new computer.

The number 1 sign a killer may have NOED is pay attention to how they perform. If a killer plays badly there is 50% chance they may have NOED. Because usually most NOED users know they are not that good with a particular killer so they may use NOED if they know they are not good playing killers. The second sign is pay attention to how sweaty they play. Around 20% of sweaty users tend to use NOED. This is based on my experience from what I have seen in NOED killer users. My tip would be to rule out what they perks they have, so if you can add up to 4 perks then NOED is ruled out. Also I have seen a lot of wraiths, and freedy's and doctors tend to use NOED. Now my suggestion would be to use detective's hunch, and eliminate all the totems if possible. I can't tell you this has helped me in past prevent a couple of NOED users from activating their ability.

All Killers play with NoEd. All killers also play with BBQ, Nurse's Calling, and Devour Hope. So always play accordingly.

The sooner you realize this, the better off you'll be.

if you're playing an m1, sure

If you're not, it sucks. And there isn't really a reason it should have that problem.

So M1 killers aren't worth talking about? That's more crazy talk.

Like I thought, you're clearly an M2-dependent killer. Even Bubba uses M1. Good killers know when to use M1 and when to use their M2 power.

And just because a perk is better used by an M1 killer doesn't make it useless like you are trying to say. Lots of people play M1 killers and there are a lot of strong M1 killers. Heck the strongest killers in the game are M1 killers.

  • @Snowbawlzzz said:

    • Surge (Basic attack)
    • Knockout (Basic attack)
    • Franklin's Demise (They have an eternity to go get their stuff back)
    • Spirit Fury (Have to go through 4 entire pallets just to basically chainsaw through 1)
    • Blood Favor (only 16 meters????? that's like one pallet)
    • Remember Me (Barely worth using already, but the obsession is immune to it for some reason?)

I'm gonna leave Sloppy off this list because I think that's fair, it's a big debuff. But for some reason the balance team is extremely hesitant to just let a perk be simple. No one would suddenly become monstrously OP if Surge could be triggered by a Hatchet throw.

    LOL that's crazy talk.

    • Surge is one of the best perks in the game and is in the ballpark of Ruin Tinker CI.
    • Knockout is situational but far from useless. It's good in builds where you are screwing with survivors by taking away their aura reading.
    • Franklin's is a good perk and is very good at inconveniencing survivors. It either gets rid of their item, so no flashlight blinds and stuff like that, and it makes them waste their time picking up their item if they want it back.
    • Spirit Fury is a solid perk and was even meta once upon a time during the Spirit Meta.
    • Blood Favor isn't super strong but is still a decent perk at worst. It can easily make the difference between a 1 minute chase and a 30 second chase.
    • Remember Me is solid for endgame builds. I have seen Freddy's turn a game around and get 4 kills in the endgame using Blood Warden, NoEd and Remember Me.

It's also fairly obvious you're an M2 killer who doesn't have good M1 basics.

In my experience, survivors are, on average, more toxic or trolling than killers. Of course there are lots of bad/dickish killers and some great, fun survivor players but, wow, do some of them have a bug up the rear.

I realize this helps no one and only adds to pointless discourse but after a bad round, I had to rant.

Everyone here has played both Survivor and Killer, so that doesn't mean anything. Also you are more likely to see more toxic survivors because you are exposed to 4x more survivors than you would killers, if you for any reason play both roles equally (let's be honest most people don't play both roles equally).

Also survivors have mob mentality so they are more likely to have the courage to bad mouth you at endgame chat because there's four of them to 1 killer.

    * Survivors vent their frustrations in endgame chat.

    * Killers vent their frustrations on this message board.

This is a proven fact. (and frankly this post is evidence of this)

  • @Bearded_Owl said:

I just don't get why people do it, maybe it annoys the killer and it causes them to change how they play?

But look, when it happens and I play survivor, the game gets ruined, it often causes killers to get annoyed by it (rightly so), they often stop trying to play and will tunnel/camp, everyone ends up with low bloodpoints cause no one can save or get chased.

Bring flashlights, gets saves with them, that's great! Stop being a total waste of space in a match and ruining the experience for everyone else!

    Flashlight clicking serves a purpose.

It calls attention to you, either killer or survivor. There is a reason to do both. Often you do it to fellow survivors to get their attention, to get them to follow you (to the hatch for instance so they can see where it is, or to do a gen or to heal you). There is also a right time to tilt a killer, so they follow you and take the heat off a dying teammate, or to lure them away from a gen. If the killer is a newb and falls for it you can secure a huge tactical victory through flashlight clicking. Flashlight clicking is a mindgame just like most things you do while interacting with the enemy. Use it to your advantage.

If you don't have enough experience with the game you might not understand this, but if you've been playing this game a while it is very obvious when you should click and when you shouldn't, depending on what you are trying to achieve. It won't always work but it doesn't hurt to try if you need to achieve something with it.

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

This is the truth, even for killers that benefit from coup de grace a lot more than all the others like huntress, deathslinger, demo, Pyramid, blight, trickster, nemesis, and maybe leatherface and billy and twins.

Unless you have corrupt or you want to defend totems, if all 4 survivors wait at the beginning the match doesn't start until someone if found, that's it, and you can guess where they'll go, also you already know which gens you wanna defend first no matter what

If your fear is that they're gonna wait for you to pass a gen and then start working on it, 4 stacks of coup de grace before the 5th gen is completed are so much better still, mathematically, because you can win so many loops where pallets have been thrown so easily, and they'll be forced to pre drop pallets, so you'll zone them out quicker or down before.

Just about any perk is better than Lethal Pursuer, frankly. I would bring Territorial Imperative over Lethal Pursuer.

That said I don't get why you are making this comparison, the two are not the same kind of perk and have different roles.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/266595/are-the-hooks-a-design-failure

Ok, I agree that hooks design is a bit off, but VERY far from the reasons you list.

You claim the killer has no incentive to leave a hook…yes they do! Camping makes killers lose. If they still win, your team is at fault for not doing their job, gens.

A facecamping killer will only kill 1, maybe 2 survivors if they hook the 1st early enough.

The reason I think hooks are a little bit flawed mechanically, is the astronomical amount of time it takes to hook a survivor. 2 second pickup animation, journey to the hook, another 2 second animation. Sometimes hooking a survivor can take 30 seconds…that’s almost half a gen!

Why do people think slugging is so popular? It immobilizes the survivor in a much quicker way.

It's the opposite. Camping makes killers win except against the most coordinated and skilled teams.

Against 90% of the players camping wins games.

  • @Arachne said:

Just think about it, Hooks removes the survivor ability to play the game and killers like Leatherface can facecamp someone the whole game since they have no incentive to move away from it. Other asymmetrical games does this way better. Example: Last Year puts survivor in random lockers where killers have incentive to go there. Home Sweet Home Survive have a revival system like Apex Legends. Seriously, they should just rework the hook in general. Everyone wants to play the game, not only the killer.

Hooks are definitely a design failure, but it's too late to do anything about them in DBD.

For DBD2 they should redo them. But who knows if we're even going to get a DBD2. As long as people are happily throwing money BHVR's way every time they release a new cosmetic DBD2 gets pushed over and over.

This game has a lot of massive design failures, but its too late to fix any of them. All we can hope is that BHVR will someday make DBD2 and remove all the bad design problems.

  • Play in 1080p Windowed Borderless and use the sides of the monitor to display your Twitch Stream feed.

I have no idea if that actually works or can be done. I just thought it'd be a nice use of the extra screen real estate.

  • Spirit hasn't been meta in a while. I haven't had problems playing against her for like the past two years. They nerfed her around 2 years back and she hasn't really been a problem since, unlike those days when every other game was a Spirit and she was just too powerful.

The only issue I have with spirit is that with the right add-ons her charge time for her power is basically non-existent. That's the only OP thing about Spirit right now. Beyond that Spirit matchups are a matter of skill.

A better Spirit player will beat you, if you are better you will beat her in chase, with or without Iron Will.

The Iron Will buff isn't as big a deal as most people are making it out to be. Good Spirits don;'t play with Stridor and don't need it.

  • Solo Survivor is legit hard, but I enjoy playing solo survivor. Still it can feel very unfair sometimes depending on how braindead your teammates are.

  • @Reinami said:

    I'll wait.

    By getting good, seriously.

If you can't win against survivors whose only skill in the game is to hold W and insta drop palletes you have a long way to go.

  • @bibibib8 said:

Stridor was only use on spirit now the perk is useless. They legit say lets remove a killer perk from the game and they decide to remove stridor.

You pretend as if everyone is using Iron Will in the game. Most survivors don't even use Iron Will.

  • @Ivaldi said:

Lol what? I dont think ive ever lost a match to a Wraith. Literally vault a window or bring a flashlight and you win.

Not everyone is a god of DBD like you are.

  • @GannTM said:

I’m not happy with the change. Iron Will needs a nerf just as much as Spirit does but they nerf one and buff the other. People should really stop saying the devs are killer sided.

Iron Will doesn't need a nerf. Killers can hear survivors in tons of other ways even without Iron Will. You can hide inside a locker perfectly healthy and a killer will know you are inside every single time. Iron Will is one of the few ways you even legitimately try to stealth in this game.

    Devs aren't killer-sided. But they aren't survivor-sided either.

  • If you only get 1 kill that's not "playing decently." You got trounced, that's probably why you get GGEZ'd. Still poor sportsmanship on their part but just saying.

  • Wraith was OP a few patches ago, but they nerfed him and that ended the Wraith meta.

    He's fine right now.

  • Well keys used to disappeaer when they had zero charges, so this is fine. I am sure the keys will be nerfed further since it is one of the things the community is complaining about the most.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

I'm just speaking from a hypothetical standpoint here.

many games are dropping out of their support for last gen due to outdated hardware.

If you think about it last gen is actually holding back current gen.

BHVR keeps updating the game and providing graphical updates and new content but it's coming at a cost with last gen performance and working on last gen consoles could actually be slowing down current gen progress.

I don't know what will happen to last gen players but all your purchases should in theory be transfered over to the next gen consoles. So you won't be losing anything but having to buy a new console.

What, you think DBD is automatically going to have Ray Tracing and and all that when they drop PS4 support?

    Not happening.

There is no point dropping last gen support. None of the graphical updates BHVR has put on the game are nextgen level. All of it is lastgen level, and nothing they are going to do will be anything beyond what last gen level can do. DBD is not a hard game to run and it is not graphically impressive.

  • Well survivor endgame perks have all been junk except for Adrenaline and Left Behind. Adrenaline is actually pretty good and used to be meta once upon a time. I think it's fine where it is.

Left Behind is also actually solid if you can make it to the endgame as the last man standing.

I agree that endgame perks all need to be strong for both killer and survivor. Especially for survivor (because Survivors might not even make it to endgame). You give up a lot in the main game bringing an endgame perk, so it really should have a powerful impact that can turn the tide in your favor in the endgame.

  • All killers need it but not all killers should have it.

Giving mobility to stealth killers like GF is bad. Giving mobility to one shot AOE killers like Leatherface is bad (and they did give him a little mobility but thankfully not enough). Giving mobility to

Basically let's not overload killer kits.

  • CI is one of the best killer perks in the game. Shouldn't be a surprise. Lethal Pursuer is one of the worst killer perks in the game. So yeah.

  • BT is still better, but We'll Make it has always been strong since the buff which happened ages ago. We'll Make it counters Sloppy Butcher and brings you back to full heatlh really quickly. Definitely a powerful perk, I don't think anybody has ever said otherwise.

  • @reesespntbtr said:

Much of this has to do with the current no dc penalty. On the survivor side you are likely to have someone dc if they get downed or hooked early, which means your game is extremely hard if not impossible to win. It just isn't a good time to play survivor.

That has little to do with it.

DC penalty has been gone for a long time but survivor queues have been fast and slow depending on the current state of the meta. Also survivor DCs were far worse back when there still was a penalty. Ironically when it was removed less people started DCing.

    @Northener1907 said:

This is not reason lol. Survivor is still strong role of this game.

Reason is winning points with killer is more easy.

I played 5 - 6 matches as survivor. And it was nightmare. Survivors were so bad. Killers were camping and tunnelling. And all my cakes wasted for this. And i did not won so good points. And then i back to killer. Avarage 150k points.

Survivor ain't the power role. If it were you wouldn't be having a hard time.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

I'm trying to que as killer it has been over 5 minutes, nothing.

So then I que as survivor it takes literally 2 seconds.

    Nobody wants to play survivor.

it literally doesn't make any sense to call for a wraith nerf.

he isn't even in the top 3 of killers.

    or even the top 5.

If by meta they mean 5 people play wraith now instead of 0.

    NERF SWF

Literally every other match I play these days is Wraith.

Maybe it's an Asian thing and people in NA don't know how to use Wraith, but I doubt it. More likely you don't play survivor enough to even know how the meta has shifted to Wraith.

    @Killing_Time said:

He's still JUST an M1 KILLER that continuously gives you a warning he's near with the bell. If anything, he needs to be buffed EVEN MORE. Survivors can EASILY smash him... IF THEY WANTED TO!

Why do people who obviously don't even play against Wraith feel like they need to keep talking? You obviously haven't played against current Wraith enough if you really think that. He is ridiculously powerful in chase right now.

    @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2200187#Comment_2200187

So just because a free killer is easy to use and played a lot makes him meta? You have to understand that anyone who owns the game can play wraith,no need to buy him with auric cells or iri shards,he was played a lot before as well, this is nothing new with a free killer.

All these killer nerfs wont change the real problem, survivors thinking a killer is op just because the killer played better.

Has nothing to do with being free.

You obviously don't play Survivor enough to notice. Wraith is literally everywhere these days 50% of all my survivor games are Wraith, and they all run the same build with Swift Hunt and Windstorm. It is ridiculously strong in chase. This is not a matter of newbs using a killer just because he's free. Usually Trapper has that honor by the way.

These are experienced killers who know what they are doing (I am a Red Rank survivor) and they all choose to use Wraith with a very specific build and he is really strong right now.

  • @lkalin91 said:

People will always find something to complain about, I'm glad to see wraith being played, before his buff I barely saw any ever in my games, and as a mostly survivor player, I don't think he's overpowered, although he is a threat now, but we can't have that of course because most survivors want to dunk on every killer they face. You guys just need to adjust and pay more attention during your games, or put on spine chill in your every build.

LOL Spinechill is not a counter to wraith.

The issue with Wraith right now isn't his invisibility. I don't think you understand how this game works.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Unpopular opinion but for the sake of game balance, all killers should eventually be buffed into the A or B tier. The more powerful the killer role is, the more impactful each individual survivor is allowed to be because the killer has the ability to manage them. Just nerfing killers is a kneejerk reaction, especially considering Wraith has always been nerfed with his buffs. Every single time he got one, they also detracted from somewhere.

That's fine but survivors aren't exactly getting buffs. Also current Wraith is way stronger than most other killers.

Ideally all the killers should be powerful, so they can start buffing survivors too. That's not what happens though.

  • If you are not getting kills then the key is useless.

Hatch doesn't spawn until all gens finish, no difference in your game.

Don't blame the key on you not being able to defend your gens.

  • If you don't like 99'ing the gate kick the door open.

  • @Munqaxus said:

    Why not buff it?

Everyone agreed Leatherface was bad, they buffed him. Everyone agreed Wraith was bad, htey buffed him. But everyone agrees Self Care is bad? They buff Sloppy Butcher.

Now I'm not saying the dev are killer-sided or anything. When everyone agrees a Killer or Killer perk is too strong they do nerf it too. Just saying that self-healing in this game is never going to be buffed ever again.

Lol, I thought about the other day. Would be interesting to see if it was buffed to be able to do that (I don’t think it does atm) + guarantee 1 skill check upon healing. Maybe then we will see more SC and Autodidact.

Yes, SC stacks with Botany and Desperate Measures.

Autodidact doesn't work with self care FYI. Autodidact is a trash perk that has needed a buff for a long time, maybe someday they will buff it.

  • They aren't.

If you think maps like Shelter Woods, Wrecker's Yard, Azarov's or Midwich are survivor-sided you have another thing coming.

    @Adjatha said:

Why are a majority of maps survivor-sided? Because the stated goal of the developers is that all 5 generators get repaired and at least 2 survivors escape every game. Also, the core gameplay loop (flee, circle palettes, stun, repeat) was created before the glut of second-chance perks were created that let survivors keep running LONG past the point where they normally would've been downed and hooked. What would otherwise be more balanced maps become unbalanced when the opportunity to down somebody between tiles has been removed by auto-recharging perks that everybody takes.

If there were no Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Deliverance, etc, maps would feel a lot less like a mountain to climb every game.

This was also before the glut of killer Detection and Exposed Perks. You have more than enough tools to deal with second chance perks.

  • Devs thought it would be fun to screw you over when you're about to fix a gen and out of nowhere Bubba chops you to bits.

  • Trickster is basically a bad version of Huntress/Deathslinger.

There are a few situations where he is better -- like in an open area with no cover, you can down the survivor really, really fast with Trickster. but even in a situation like that the Huntress or DS will put you down anyway, Trickster just does it faster by a few seconds.

Trickster is just the weakest of the range killers.

What makes him good though is his perk. Starstruck is a ridiculous perk... on other killers. On him it's okay but not amazing.

  • You people obviously don't play Survivor, if you don't even know how to scout killer perks.

Stridor is one of the easiest perks to scout, especially if you have Iron Will, but even without Iron Will it's easy to distinguish.

  • Impossible, Suiciding on Hook was disabled.

  • I want to give up, too.

But I can't because they disabled suicide on hook.

  • @Gaffy said:

Every second game is either a 3 or 4 man console/pc who sends me to autoheaven or coldwind. No matter what I actually try to do to defend gens everything just gets done anyway and my experience or skill just doesn't matter. Why should I ever leave hooks if I get nothing from it other than lost pressure and time wasted. I'm about to just start running franklins/noed/lightborn every game because I'm so tired of getting nothing done and being ridiculed in the exit gates or end game chat by people who clearly didn't deserve to escape and were just saved by gen speeds and dead hard. When do killers get a perk that just reverses their mistakes during chase, because that's all dead hard is, just a free health state with zero counterplay followed by a pallet stun and tbag. Nearly 1.5k hours and it means nothing because it literally just depends if I bring the right perks or not. You can't bring anything that isn't meta/3 slowdown perks or you lose. I love how half of my build has to be dedicated to just making the game longer and not by 5 minutes. I'm also considering deranking so I can finally have "fun" again but I doubt that would accomplish anything because the ranking system would just pair me with these squads again anyway.

You're just not at a level to play Red Rank Killer yet. Just work at it. I'm not even at a level to play Green Rank killer. I can only deal confidently with yellow rank survivors and lower. If I'm fighting green ranks or better there'll probably be one or two survivors who can loop me all night. Unless I'm playing hag, where I can deal even with green ranks.

That's just how it is. This game is skill-based, if you fight more skilled opponents you lose.

  • Hag is the easiest killer to use as a newb.

I never get less than 4K with hag and I'm a total newb.
