You cannot do anything to a remotely decent pyramid head in loops, he can switch to his M2, you either throw down the pallet and get stuck in an animation to which he doesn’t miss. Or you run through it and he simply switches back to his M1 with no cool down and hits you.
he says pyramid head has a huge cool down which is true. But a good pyramid head isn’t wasting shots, he’ll be setting it up to bait a vault or a pallet and switch to an M1 or he’ll commit when you lock into an animation.
deathslinger has way more range for sure, but if you hit somebody from long range you just need an object in your way and you’re set. He’s the biggest cuckhold, he’s huntress lite.
pyramid head can literally down several survivors with his M2 when overly altruistic survivors make risky hook saves.
I did address this point in a previous comment, it's true PH is really powerful in this way and the good ones are setting up their shockwaves for moments when they would be guaranteed rather than wasting them, but then again so can Deathslinger do the exact same thing:
"In the same way that Pyramid Head can mindgame by walking behind a survivor using rites of judgement to guarantee either a shockwave hit if they drop the pallet or a normal m1 if they decide not to drop it, Deathslinger can do the same thing by straight up shooting them at close range before they get to the pallet at all."
In the same way a good pyramid head isn't wasting shots, neither would a good deathslinger, shooting from far away only if absolutely certain they could realistically reel a survivor back over that distance and there isn't anything that could significantly block their pulling. It would be an unfair comparison to compare a good and smart PH who's using his power as efficiently as possible to a Deathslinger that isn't as good or smart and is using his power inefficiently by making shots when he can't realistically follow up on them. Much like a PH who is just throwing out the shockwave willy nilly and is losing ground in chases, wasting time.
Of course yes, PH can hit multiple survivors at once which isn't something DS can reproduce. I won't deny that, you've got a point there.

Nurse's calling is already good on it's very own, it doesn't need any changes at all.
Deerstalker is definitely underused, though it's not all that bad as a perk, a slight buff would definitely help to see this more freqeuntly.
-
Unless you're facing a 4-man SWF with 4 toolboxes all equipped with BNP's and a Shroud of Binding offering, this perk isn't going to help you with much. Especially considering that even with this perk all they have to do is repair one gen on their own, and then once it has finally deactivated use all their BNP's on a generator in mid-to-late game.
Most items aren't used in the early game, especially after the recent toolbox changes that have made them more effective for finishing the last bit of a generator rather than speeding up the process as a whole. Medkits probably won't be used until mid-game when more people are injured and you need to save time. Keys certainly aren't going to be used until the very end when the hatch has spawned.
So I mean, I guess you could prevent people from using maps to find their first generator easier, and people with flashlights who will use those as soon as they can in a chase which is slightly more helpful, but still overall not doing much with this perk.
-
Especially for the archives, I will tailor my entire build to accomplishing whatever challenge or Daily I'm doing at the moment.
-
Comparing all survivors and their teachables side by side, Meg has 3 really good teachables that are all meta or as close as can be to meta.
Adrenaline is really good for obvious reasons, Sprint Burst is the original Exhaustion perk and still holds up today as a great perk even if people prefer to use other perks like Balanced Landing or Lithe, and Quick & Quiet is an absolute Staple for most Stealth / immersed builds and is still great to use even on it's own in any build.

Please create poll options next time @Monteasie it just makes this a whole lot simpler

Love the assumption. I’m dog ######### with nurse but I understand she’s the best killer in the game. You can learn how good a killer is by playing against them just as much as playing with them. If I run into a deathslinger I know that I have a decent chance of surviving. He is ass. I’m not some bum green rank either playing against people who don’t know how to play him.
But I mean, you still never addressed his points which are pretty valid ones at that
All you did was come over here and say "Deathslinger is F tier" and that was it.
-
I'm gonna say Clown and Ghostface just because these are easily some of the most grounded and realistic characters in the game that you might actually see in real life.
Ghostface is the prime example of this, the entire point of the Scream movies was Horror movies happening in real life and this fact always scared me. That's honestly why Ghostface is one of the scariest characters in the game because it's honestly entirely feasible and plausible that this could happen. He's a psychopath that acts perfectly normal during the day and then has a field day at night murdering for fun. Obsessively stalking his individuals chartering and logging all their movements and daily schedules, and of course the classic creepy taunting phone calls and text messages which is obviously reminiscent of a real and actual stalker which if you are aware is a truly horrible, creepy, and scary experience to have to go through on its own, even if nothing violent happens.
BIG yikes.
Clown much like Ghostface is also eerily grounded. His origin story about where he comes from, a naturally athletic and strong teen with some violent and off putting tendencies at first that eventually developed into some truly dark and horrific behavior after indulging in "Drinks, junk food, [and] drugs ... to excess." So, despite already being naturally strong, he drugs his victims to secure his catch and overpower them even further. Being drugged, disoriented, running away from a huge Clown is creepy enough, especially if you put it into context. He catches you at fairs and the traveling circus, where your guard is down you're enjoying yourself and all of a sudden this guy is eyeing you from the edge of the fairgrounds. Jesus christ.
-
I'm not gonna read that lore entry, I'm leaving everything until I finish all the story lines and then I'm just gonna sit and listen to them all at once for like 20 minutes. Just some context so that you know I'm not using that for reference or information
However, I remember from a certain dev stream or something that Dave Richard (creative director) said some or certain survivors wake up in every trial as if it were their first, having no memory. He never gave any specific examples so I think this was just a general statement that the realm of the entity affects different people differently. I think the group of survivors that we play as specifically aren't affected in this way, because teachables are a thing, as some other people have pointed out.

Me!! It needs to happen. I know the producer is vile and deserves prison but separate the art from the artist. Jeepers Creepers is amazing and i use deathslinger because it kinda looks like it.
This is exactly why Jeepers Creepers is never coming to the game, the community has discussed the character and I think the devs touched on it too a long while back. But the long and short of it is the guy who owns the license is a pedophile or something from what I remember, and BHVR absolutely does not want to do business, give money to, or be associated with those kinds of people ever.
It's an old conversation, and this is the main reason why people don't bring it up anymore.

Do you not understand why people are upset? It's not the fact they "Look good" It's the fact that we WORKED for them, WE grinded. But no, BHVR has to hold the hands of the new players because "they weren't there".
Hey, I think you've missed the point that I'M also part of that "we". I don't mind that the new players get to enjoy the stuff that we got a long time ago. If anything it's kind of like hand-me-downs, "we earned this and it was super cool at the time, but y'know what you can have it now, there are better things that we have that we'd rather use now"
Yeah, I get that we grinded for it. But we grinded for it almost 2 years ago, there's no reason to keep hoarding all this stuff for ourselves when we've already been earning other cosmetics and cool stuff along the way. Let the new guys have access to some more customization options, the game is grindy enough as it is.

Interesting, we have similar taste. I have Yui, Cheryl, Kate and Nancy maxed out for perks. And Steve, Ace and Adam as well. I don't really play anyone outside of those seven unless its for dailies. Yui was my favorite for awhile, but I've been enjoying Cheryl a lot so she might become my new favorite. In general the female Survivor have better cosmetics and are smaller so I like them more. Except for my P3 Steve he's basically Blendette
I'd play Steve a lot more if his voice wasn't absolutely atrocious, it's god awful and I have no idea why they couldn't get Joe Keery to voice the character.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8RJ7IYNt3cPlease, BHVR, do us a solid. Get Joe Keery to voice over the character
...and fix Quentin's face.
-
Not necessarily.
Even if people are seeing improved results, improved doesn't mean that's he's in a good and viable position balance wise it just means he's better than he was before, which is a very wide spectrum and a very low bar to clear.
I'm certainly not doing any worse, that's for sure and that's a good thing, gameplay does feel a lot more smooth than it was previously, but the change that went through does not do anything to solve or even influence many if any of the major issues that he suffered from previously.
- His gameplay is still very one-dimensional, it's not as interesting or as unique as I think it could be if they introduced a secondary ability into his base kit or refined and improved the effects of the afterpiece tonic itself.
- There's hardly any unique strategy or plays you can pull off outside of something like throwing bottles high in the air to collide with a tree or building so that the gas spreads below.
- Unlike a killer like Pyramid Head who has a powerful chase tool, but also has extra utility that can be used to a certain amount of strategic effect, such as map zoning and map awareness with Rites of Judgement, as well as the cage itself which can also be used strategically to displace survivors or incapacitate multiple of them in different places all at once
- There's hardly any unique strategy or plays you can pull off outside of something like throwing bottles high in the air to collide with a tree or building so that the gas spreads below.
- He lacks completely and utterly in areas of Map Pressure, Map Mobility, and Tracking which are definitely a lot of weak points to cover. As short as this bullet-point is, it is singlehandedly the biggest and most influential reason for why he is as weak as he is.
- Reloading is still an absolute killer and a huge detriment to your own chases, feeling just as slow and clunky as it did before. If your bottles aren't providing the desired effect of ending chases more quickly with the base 4 capacity, you have to stop and reload and the slow is massive and really hurts your chases, forcing you to lose a lot of ground and making it more difficult to maintain that chase.
- This also results in making add-ons like fingerless parade gloves, thick cork stopper, sticky soda bottle, and cheap gin bottle, add-ons which increase reload speed and bottle base capacity, a priority / must-have to use and run over anything else you might like to try and use like increasing area of effect, intoxicated duration, blurred vision duration, or my personal favorite: Exhaustion status effect (Solvent Jug)
And it sucks because this small change is starting to get people to shift focus to the next thing when ALL of these issues he still suffers from are yet to be addressed. It was a good change don't get me wrong, it's a start, but it certainly isn't where the devs should stop- Clown needs and deserves a lot more than just that. Especially before all the devs and community members start to shift focus and tackle other killers like Legion, Leatherface, Pig, Plague, etc.
Don't half-ass these buffs and reworks is all I'm saying. Do Clown a solid, give him some proper changes that make him good and viable and THEN we can move on, safe with the knowledge that significant change has been made.
- His gameplay is still very one-dimensional, it's not as interesting or as unique as I think it could be if they introduced a secondary ability into his base kit or refined and improved the effects of the afterpiece tonic itself.

I don't care for charms really, but the nectar vial brings back fond memories of the original Hallowed Blight event of 2018, so out of all of them I'd have to choose that one.
It's a shame I won't be able to get the Vaporous Hexahedron, I don't care for charms but when the archives came out I wanted to successfully complete every rift and be able to collect everything.
...But what if, I were to purchase the remaining levels and disguise it as my own grinding... Ho ho ho ho ho, delightfully devilish Seiko300..
-
I generally play male survivors, my main is Ace but I sometimes swap to Ash and Steve, sometimes Jeff and David King but I need to prestige them a bit more and get them a few cosmetics before I play more of either. Although it's not like I play them exclusively, I will also play Kate Denson, Jane Romero, and Yui from time to time, I'm also thinking about playing more of Cheryl.
I'll also just generally play whoever I need to for Dailies & / or the rift, out of everything the grind takes precedence over all. I was playing Tapp earlier today who is definitely one of my least played characters.
However, I'm going to point out that I definitely feel (and I'm 90% certain I am) in the minority here, in Dead By Daylight it's the female survivors that are often chosen over the males and that's a pretty objective statement. Female survivors typically have smaller character models and combine them with dark clothes they can be easier to stealth with, or so the saying goes anyway. Hence the classic P3 Claudette being one of the most popular characters and outfits to wear (and mind you one of the only characters where wearing the P3 is preferred over default or other cosmetics)
Also I have a hunch a bit of credit can also be given to the "Final Girl" trope popularized in slasher horror. But that's something I can't really prove.
-
It's still the Clown. The change he got was not enough to fix the problems he had previously and it sucks because it was just starting to look like people were rallying behind fixing the Clown properly, but now with one rinky-dinky change (that certainly makes his gameplay more smooth, I won't lie) people are shifting their focus to other killers again.
Clown might be underrated as the devs claim, but not by much. He has glaring flaws that no amount of being "underrated" can fix, in his map pressure, in his tracking, in his mobility, there are a lot of things that could be done to make him better.
Please make the clown BETTER before moving on to other killers and reworks, he needs it and he deserves it.

Yes, I have bought individual pieces instead of a full outfit because I don't like certain parts of it. Take blight huntress for example, I don't care for the mask and the weapon is whatever to me. So I got the body, slapped my hound mask on and gave her the boar weapon. I bought a plague doctor's head and nothing else for his cosmetics and recently got Feng Min's "Toxic GG gamer" shirt thorugh shards since I liked how it looked with actual pants instead of those stockings.
Fair enough.

I think the only full cosmetic outfit I've gotten are Huntress' event ones. And they were event rewards.
Everything else I've only gotten piecemeal; whether auric cells or iridescent shards. Most outfits just don't look that great together IMO.
They have like a piece or two that looks cool and that's it. Why waste money getting the full thing if I don't like it?
-
Maybe me and @starkiller1286 are just the outlier exceptions, but given how pricey most outfits are and how many people I run into mixing and matching them, I'd be inclined to think otherwise.
Psh. There are plenty of great outfits that look perfect together, especially if we're talking the costlier premium ones. If there's one thing or statement that I think that DBD community can rally behind, it's the art department and their work on character models, maps, and cosmetics.
So saying "most outfits don't look great together" is low-key insulting to the art department. (Yes, I read the IMO part)
But y'know, agree to disagree, yadda yadda yadda, and all that.
-
The cosmetics they gave away were for minor events and not very great ones at that, in the grand scheme of things these events don't matter especially in comparison to something like the reoccurring Hallowed Blight event and the fully corrupted serum cosmetics.
Even if they do give away the 4th anniversary rewards for free in the future, you'll likely have been one of the exclusive owners (people who participated) of those event cosmetics for over a year or more, maybe 2 years or 3. There's also no guarantee that they will ever release these cosmetics, so if you want to hedge your bets and see if you come out on top 2 or 3 years from now be my guest.
I also can only and naturally assume that this decision was made for similar reasons to why they made a bunch of previously exclusive cosmetics free for everyone. People were essentially selling cosmetic codes of unique cosmetics online for hundreds of dollars, sometimes scamming people out of their money if the codes were fake. I assume it's possible people might be trying to sell their accounts to profit off of these (now formerly) exclusive cosmetics although I think this is less likely if you take an actual look at these cosmetics. They don't actually look all that special to warrant hundreds of dollars, but then again so were former cosmetics like Dweard, just average cosmetics that were highly sought after and paid for hundreds of dollars because of how exclusive they were. So it's possible the same thing is happening again.
This was a topic of discussion about a year ago in 2019, here's Paulie Esther's video on it covering the official blog post:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvOcMkun9aEIt's a tough call, and there's a valid point to be made for both sides but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter all that much. If you're wondering "what's the point then?" to participate in events and grind for rewards and I'll tell you: it's to have fun. That's about the short of it, and the only reason you need to participate, it's fun, it shakes up the pace and tone of the game (for better and for worse, it's different and that's all I care about anyway) you and the rest of the DBD community get to celebrate in game and be a little more lighthearted, and a little less sweaty a few times around the year. And that's honestly good enough for me.
If there's anything important to take away from what I've said, it's definitely in that last paragraph.

I'd be ok with them being on the Rift, but outright buying them is pretty much just Pay to Win to me. At least with the Rift, you're playing to earn them by earning the experience for the Rift itself
^^^
Buying Bloodpoints outright follows a Pay-To-Win model, it provides certain advantages to players who are willing to spend money, they get access to certain teachables or Tier 3 versions of meta perks like BBQ, Ruin, or Decisive Strike, and Borrowed time, quicker and easier. Without doing any actual work in game.
So absolutely not. No.

The be fair, the real criteria is "Can we get away with forcing players to spend more money without it being too obvious".
I mean, are you really telling me you or anyone else has ever actually bought individual pieces of a full cosmetic outfit?? It's nice to have the option and the freedom to do so I guess, but I've personally never done that and I'm really pretty sure not many other people do either.

•The design is made where you cannot possibly separate certain parts into individual pieces of the set (bunny legion)
•The design is changed so drastically that it changes the model entirely (lisa garland)
•Sets that change the model making it an entirely different character should have different voices, and a different name display as well as their character replacing the original character on the selection screen (example: cheryl mason's character portrait and name display would be replaced by lisa garland's character portrait, would show her name as lisa garland instead of cheryl mason and have an entirely different set of voice lines and character description to match lisa garland. This would also justify it being a legendary and the ridiculous price for the character.)
Basically, if it doesn't change the character so drastically that it HAS to be in a set in order for it to work, it shouldn't be a set. Cheryl's green rarity cosmetics and pyramid head's new cosmetics do not meet the criteria to be a set and bhvr has been radio silent about them, they haven't even tried explaining why they're in a set, if it was their decision to make them a set or if it was Konami's (which it wouldn't make sense for it to be konami's decision since they basically told bhvr they can do whatever they want with the characters) or if they plan to keep them as a set or not.
But yeah makes sense. I think BHVR did it to show that they want to be able to create cosmetic sets of any rarity, not just full blown, blow-everyone-out-of-the-water legendary outfits. But obviously people aren't on board with this idea
-
We had these cosmetics for a full 2 years before they made this decision and these cosmetics weren't and still aren't even that especially good or special, unlike say, the reoccurring hallowed blight event cosmetics.
I myself didn't even participate in the Scorching Summer BBQ and to date in my opinion it was one of the worst events they ever, it was one of the first events to cement the idea that all you need for an event are reskins of generators to fix, different hooks, some subpar rewards and blamo, you've got yourself an "event". No thanks, that's half-assed, slightly different than normal gameplay is all that is.
The only things that probably made the howling grounds event better, was because we were actually celebrating a legit holiday at the time so the atmosphere felt reasonably different, and the cosmetic rewards weren't as bad. Realistically these two events are about on the same level though, so to me, I could care less. The Howling Grounds and Scorching Summer BBQ events were both minor ones, and not very good ones at that in the grand scheme of things.

DC penalty is there for a reason, and a good one at that. It has tremendously reduced the number of players disconnecting from their matches on a regular basis
Refine the system, make it better so the right people are punished and the wrong people can make an appeal or something that can be verified, but no chance in hell they'd get rid of it.

Im sure alot of people have seen the tunneling complaints for pyrid and have suggested things like PH shouldnt be able to see cage aura but that would negatively affect non tunnelers as well. I have a proposed change that benefits survivors who dont want to be tunneled and people who play PH normally.
1: On both sides allow hook perks such as BT, DS, MYC, DH, WGLF, and BBQ to work on cages
2: Allow cages to spawn closer to PH so its less likely he BBQ's someone right infront of him through a wall because the cage was 120 meters away
If both of these are implemented i think it would help PH feel much more fun and consistent to play as and to go against. He has no 3 Gen pressure with half his power right now because cages go to the other side of the map but if they spawn closer then PH has a chance to use his ability for a better endgame. It would also allow more unique perks to be used on PH like BW for a cool endgame with his power.
For survivors they can now use their anti-tunnel perks so they feel as if they have a chance to recover right off the cage. And now during BP events or BPS games they can fill up WGLF more easily.
I sincerely apologize for any bad punctuation or bad grammar and please let me know your thoughts.
Nope. Not beneficial for both sides.
DS is completely f*cked in that it's disgustingly broken, until it gets reworked counters like PH need to exist.
The cages going all the way to the other side are also ways of incorporating some unique strategy in PH, you need to know when is the right time to use your cage and when it's not. If you know that everybody is on your side of the map, maybe you're chaining up gens, sending someone off to the exact opposite of the map and forcing one survivor to rescue him which means 2 people are not working on gens, that allows you to capitalize and put some extra pressure on the table. At the same time, if you've got even a hunch that there are people on the other side of the map, and you're not living in fear of a flashlight, pallet stun, or DS, better to just get the hook in that case and save the tormented survivor for later. Not doing so and using the cage all the time leaves you open for survivors to make incredibly easy and quick saves, sacrificing a bit of pressure that you gained.
So it's an interesting dynamic already. The cages don't need to be changed in that aspect (going all the way to the other end of the map).

I only play one character, Jake, and I was lucky enough to be able to get teachables I wanted from the Shrine. Recently, however, I've wanted to get some teachables that were not in the shrine, and good god, it's a pain in the ass to level up those characters.
At least with killers, they have different play styles, so you can play them directly to get BP and it's fun because it's a different playstyle. If I want to level up Nancy, I can either play her directly and essentially throw away the perks I have on Jake, or I can play Jake and not get anything for him because all the BP is going to Nancy.
How do you guys find the patience to do it?
Technically speaking, you don't need to get them to level 50, only up to level 40. Since the first teachable comes out in the bloodweb at level 30, then 35, and then 40.
I did this a long time ago where instead of getting whoever I wanted to get to P3 next, I dedicated myself to getting every characters teachables (and actually playing them too, not copping out and just playing my main and sinking the BP into those characters for their perks that's lame). Good God it was especially frustrating on killers I don't like to play like Pig, Demogorgon, Plague, Leatherface, it all sucked yeugh.
But once you've got them, hey, you've got them, and it's permanent so you get all those perks forever to use at a later date. Now all you gotta do is keep up and get the teachables right away for any new chapters, which I always do immediately ASAP nowadays. Then unlock those same new teachables for your main(s) and characters you've already gotten to P3 so they remain up to date.
...In retrospect, it's a lot, the grind is definitely an issue. But I did it, and for now it doesn't seem like they're releasing any new updates to alleviate the grind any time soon so might as well get it out of the way. My philosophy is if you're already playing, you're already grinding, so might as well get it over with so you can reap the permanent benefits for all time in the future.

Ace Visconti - Suave, Sophisticated, Silver Tongue, Confident, Classy, Charismatic, Ladies man, and Lucky Bastard.
Sniping out the hearts of all with those finger guns, and the only guy who's cool enough in such dire circumstances to wear a damn smile on his face. What's not to love?
As for female survivor I've always really liked Kate, especially because of the way she is described in the lore:
"A ray of sunshine illuminated this cold and gray place - a ray in the form of a woman. ... I got the feeling that to cross her would be a mistake. To remain so positive and upbeat in such a place would require a will of iron. Perhaps less a ray of sunshine then, but a bolt of lightning? Brilliant light and great power that could split the world in two.'' ~ Unknown (Potentially Benedict Baker)

From looking at the videos, I see that it looks brick... so I'm curious if you'll still be able to slightly see through it. This may not seem important~ but it's important for both sides (killer and survivor) because this is how we know how to mind trick the opposer.
Both sides my butt, the little gaps in my experience are only ever used for the benefit of the survivor running the loop, since knowing where the killer is can allow the survivor to change direction accordingly on a dime. Unless you're Nurse or Spirit, knowing where the survivor is doesn't help you at all since they're just going to change rotation if you change rotation.
I can't wait for those holes to be plugged. It'll make the shack less safe and harder to run perfectly, forcing players to rely on behind-a-wall mindgames and trying to predict where the other person is going to move.

I don't need to read much of that, because it's clear by you devolving into namecalling instead of addressing my point that you have nothing to say against what I told you.
You say I'm the one putting words in your mouth but then here you are telling me that I'm disregarding other peoples' opinions. No, I just made fun of you because you're clearly responding like an ass. The whole message I'm trying to put across is that you have the gall to tell somebody that it's "just a personal problem" when I've seen many people say the same things. Just like you are arguing here, that you're not arguing for only for your sake, but because you agree with the many threads posted before. You're literally saying the same thing about me that I'm saying about you and yet you don't see how that's ironic. It's amazing how closed minded you can be, to tell me that I'm the one disregarding peoples' opinions when I only commented on how you responded, and to not see how "hilariously ironic" it is that you are textbook definition disregarding somebody else by telling them "sounds like a personal problem." It's so utterly tone deaf it's astounding.
There's no "bullsh*t" to call out. I told you you're disregarding the opinions of those who disagree with you and here you are. Doing it again, to me. Have fun being closed minded with your double standards, unwillingness to actually recognize or take criticism, and complete incapability of empathy (as shown by your willingness to ignore my logic but then try to still argue with that same logic.) I can't waste any more time with somebody who either obviously has a disability or is just completely unwilling to actually hear out an opinion that doesn't line up with his own.
So yeah. Please, tell me what "bullsh*t" there is to call out. Tell me how I'm disregarding the opinions of others and how you aren't a hypocritical garbage fire.
Oh I'm the ass? That's rich. Considering that your very first comment on this thread was a direct insult, tossing away and trying to de-legitimize anything and everything I've said so far by labeling it as "hilarious irony", and ignoring all of my own counter-arguments on this thread by saying I've only been ignoring people who bring up "valid points" rather than addressing them on the spot as I have been. After which you compare me to "Cathy Newman", which I can only assume is meant to be a degrading insult to my character.
If there's anyone here who's a glorified hypocrite, it's you. Name calling? I didn't call you anything, and yet here you are calling me a "hypocritical garbage fire" and an "ass", you say I've been ignoring people and proceed to outright tell me "I don't need to read much of that" in regards to my response and ignore most of it, you call me "tone deaf" yet you're utterly and completely oblivious to the fact you're doing the exact same things you accuse me of.
If that's not the textbook definition of a hypocrite I don't know what is. But go ahead, plug your ears some more, shout over me, and keep painting me as the villain here, it only makes you look even worse.

This is the comment I was talking about.
Once again, hilariously ironic that you can't see the hypocrisy of telling somebody expressing valid counter-arguments that I've seen several others share, "That sounds more like a you problem than anything else," while you also try to pose an arguments that you claim you've seen several others share. The same thing, but "rules for thee but not for me," right?
As for my "hypocritical" comment, It's not ironic because it was entirely valid. If you're constantly dying as survivor because you're messing up struggle that is definitely far more akin to a problem a new player would have than anything else. Struggling isn't meant to be difficult, and it's not something that you should be messing up on so obviously it makes sense that my first instinct would be to say "sounds like a personal problem" because it is.
I don't know how many veterans you've seen complain about messing up struggle on anywhere near a frequent basis, but I have not. Unlike survivors killing themselves on hooks to get out of games, messing up struggle is not a widespread or widely reported issue far from it. That's not a "valid counter-argument" it's hardly even related to the thread and it's nowhere near the "damning evidence" that invalidates everything I have said on the thread thus far that you claim it is.
Anything else you wanna indict me with Judge?

To be honest the only survivor who has stereotyped themselves in my eyes are Claudette players, I can usually assume they will be the one that wants to interact the least with the killer and try to hide the whole game. Other than that, the other survivors are just survivors to me.
This ^
Most of the survivors don't have traits or characteristics attached to them aside from Claudette / meg primarily, and the baby dwights who are always hiding in lockers.
When I see a Kate I see exactly how she is described in the lore as a character, a "hopeful songbird"
I always liked her because in a way she symbolizes the exact opposite of what the realm of the entity is - a desperate and hopeless place of pain. In that way she seems almost out of place. I like her description that the lore provides:
"A ray of sunshine illuminated this cold and gray place - a ray in the form of a woman. ... I got the feeling that to cross her would be a mistake. To remain so positive and upbeat in such a place would require a will of iron. Perhaps less a ray of sunshine then, but a bolt of lightning? Brilliant light and great power that could split the world in two.'' ~ Unknown (Potentially Benedict Baker)
So I guess that's what I always think of, personally.

WGLF and Borrowed time not working too
I'm fairly certain these aren't meant to work with the cages. At least BT anyway, not sure about that WGLF but I don't think so for that either
But I'm more than certain that the Adrenaline thing is something that they overlooked, of all perks that should definitely still work like normal.

I come across them every now and then, which is surprising, many in-game memes die out after a while but this has managed to hang on.
I think the last one I saw was actually fairly recently. It was a really good Pig main that was beating us up in high ranks and then something happened and she started being much more friendly.
I later found out she had a self-imposed rule that if anybody ever booped her snoot she would immediately be obligated to farm with them, every time it happened, it was like a light switch. Which I can honestly respect, and I definitely did appreciate at the time.
Piggies that let u boop their snoot are pretty wholesome people tbh, imo, ngl. They make for fun meme-y casual matches which can be a nice break / change of pace from the usually intense sweating that's going on up in those higher ranks.
They kinda cute

What I mean with the QoL changes is, reduce the amount of pallets in a certain area, do something about the gen speed because it is disgusting the way it is now, the pallet stun range that for some reason is HUGE, amount of breakable walls that you are forced to break or you will never catch a survivor, and things like PIP system for killers and the reason it is so unfair
They've already implemented extensive map reworks changing some of the strongest loops, size and layout (reduction in size), type spacing (the space between different maze tiles AKA Jungle Gyms), etc. They made a small QoL change recently reducing the progress gained from great skill checks and the efficiency of multiple survivors working on a single generator, and breakable walls are a new feature that they are slowly working on implementing in the meantime correctly balancing them in conjunction with the new goals for map design in mind.
So yes, they do care, considering they've already made previous changes in the exact areas you were describing.

Meanwhile, Fallout 76 XD
Look, all I was saying is that a game (No matter how long out) should be refundable worthy if it gets to such a drastic state that its unplayable by any means. Not being able to hear survivors at all is a basic function and objective of a game that is restricting you. Sure you can see them but only for so long. Consider games with quick and quiet, dance with me, lithe.
Add these to already mute survivors, Blendettes. It makes for an impossible game scenario for most ranks, it would be especially miserable for really low and really high ranked as their either sweaty survivors that know how to play the game or it's a noob killer not finding anyone throughout the whole game.
I understand it may seem funny to you and you want to believe in whats left of this sorry excuse of a game. But for others that have suffered through 4 years of the same problems either coming back up after being said fixed or just never fixed. We are tired of it. Sure refunds may not ever happen. But honestly, it's not like they arent deserved.
And why tf are you having a go a "Long text?" XD seems silly. Even if I thought it wasnt long, I would have brushed passed it.
Bottom line, unless you're sadly devoted to this game regardless of how bad it gets, most sensible people just leave this for a month and see if it's gotten better. Sure there are sensible ones still devoted to this game, but what will it take to see? Game pulls your character back due to poor latency in the game. And they want to cross platform? Spinning in circles mess with hitbox due to automatic aim assist. Grabs are broken, can stick you in place. I can be blinded forever or have a half blind screen for the remainder.
Like, how much before enough is enough?
I don't pay attention to fallout in nearly any capacity, but I have heard something about it being really bad or something. Borderline the game wasn't functional or operational, which is very clearly not an apt description for Dead By Daylight. A few bugs don't equal a game that doesn't operate. Just because sound is a critical aspect of killer gameplay doesn't mean that the game itself is not in a functioning playable state, because it objectively is. Your own experience is entirely subjective
As for those "others who have suffered through 4 years of the same problems", I'M one of those others. I've been playing this game since 2016, my first achievement is dated in early July of that year, the game came out in June. So you can talk down to somebody else who's actually inexperienced with what Dead By Daylight has gone through.
I was just pointing out it wasn't a long text. Your response to my comment is already longer than OPs thread to begin with, that's proof enough. I'm not "having a go" at anything, it was a passing comment, something I would've thought most people would brush past.
I like the game, through thick and thin I enjoy the horror fantasy of Dead By Daylight - it's characters both licensed and original creations, the cosmetics which tell their own stories, the lore, asymmetrical gameplay, etc. and I'll continue to play it for as long as I enjoy it. You have a problem with that? Or is that not "sensible" to you?
It's been 4 years and my excitement for every new update and chapter release has never ceased or waned, and much like my fellow veterans I've seen the highs and lows. But I've also seen a general upward trajectory in quality, content, and balance in the game that gives me enough of a reason to stick around and have faith that whatever goes wrong will eventually be fixed, and what goes right will become increasingly more frequent.
And yes, my point still stands, refunds aren't deserved for most of us. Steam's own refund policy is very clear and concise, if you have owned a game for less than two weeks and played it for less than two hours, your full refund is automatically approved no questions asked. That's understandable and reasonable and to be honest a lot more forgiving than many other refund policies, asking for one 4 years later, is not.

I mean... if you wanna go full lone wolf go ahead. 🤷♂️
But you want someone with bt to unhook you right? So why not reciprocate?
I won't need BT if I've got kindred to make my own saves (when I'm being saved) safe to begin with
Also, isn't playing solo ALREADY a lone wolf game???????

I never use DS, I have almost no issue with tunnelers.
Equip DS and/or kindred if you feel like you encounter that playstyle too often.
Borrowed time doesn't hurt either.
If you're the one being tunneled BT does hurt, because it only helps others and doesn't improve your own chances of surviving and / or not getting tunneled, at the same time as taking up a perk slot that you could have used for something else that actually benefits you as a solo player, not your "team" especially if they're all garbage.
Not to mention, if the killer finds out you're the guy running BT getting all these successful unhooks, he's more likely to focus on you to get you out of the game to make his job easier and the rest of the team who's left harder pressed to make successful saves.
So no, BT probably not a good option if you're being repeatedly tunneled consistently in your matches.
Instead choose perks that directly benefit you and help you survive. Instead of Borrowed Time I would suggest unbreakable, so you can't be slugged, in combination with Decisive where there's a decent chance you'll be left on the ground, it's a pretty disgusting combo.
Other "selfish" perks you can use if you have no faith in your team and the killer is tunneling you:
Self-Care - as much as people will tell you it's detrimental to the team, it's still one of the best self-preservation perks out there (just make sure not to self-care when you should be doing something else like fixing a generator that's almost done or saving a teammate who's almost dead)
Inner Strength - Alternate option you can pick instead of self-care but it's got it's limitations especially if you have trouble finding totems. When you've got it though, it works and it's a good self-sustain / self-preservation perk.
any exhaustion perk: Adrenaline is a pretty good pick for self-preservation but if you're not sure if you're going to get use out of it Balanced Landing or Lithe are good picks too. Head On if you know you can use it properly, you can go with Dead Hard but good killers have been getting wise to DH antics for awhile now and it's slowly becoming less viable because good killers will counter it by baiting it out once they know you've got it. If you don't have those the classic Sprint Burst is always an option
Kindred - It's a multi-purpose perk. It activates whenever you're hooked so obviously it helps your team make safer saves and prevents nightmare scenarios where everybody thinks somebody else is getting the save and nobody gets you. It also gives you a lot of map awareness of where your team is so you can get a quicker heal, finish a generator with someone else, and it also let's you know where the killer is and what direction they headed in after they got a hook (or if they're camping).
Spine Chill - huge perk that can save your butt in multiple circumstances. Most obviously it's a game changer going up against stealth killers or killers using stealth perks (like the recently released Trail of Torment), but also helps against basically any killer, when it lights up and it stays lit for a couple seconds that's your queue to gain some distance and dip. Gives you a bit of extra reaction time for high mobility killers like Hillbilly or Oni too who tend to show up very quickly and abruptly. Plus you get slightly faster vaulting speed depending on what tier you've got the perk at. Can't recommend this perk enough.
Other somewhat notable self-preservation perks: Dark Sense, Camaraderie, Distortion, Urban Evasion, Iron Will

Sometimes I watch a match to the end when Ive died. Alot of the time I see the last guy that has been downed purposefully hide in a corner to bleed out. Not looking for a hatch. Just bleeding out over getting hooked.
Im not sure what the point is. Do survivours get more BP for bleeding out? Have I been wrong in gettung hooked to end the match already?? 😞
The answer is simple.
To take power back from the killer and be able to say "I die on my own terms" in post game chat (sometimes)

WARNING, LONG TEXT
So sound is gone, more than enough to stop killers playing. Though as a killer, I was able to move for 3 seconds before a survivors DS triggered, which allowed me free hooks or had me hooked, so theres that too. I've had several instances BT doesnt trigger although you have the countdown for it. I even heard that killer hitboxes have also been effected, making them larger somehow (just what I heard). New map is dogsh#t for both sides. Despite it's amazing appearence design.
Pyramid Heads perks were not made better, just tweaked on times to make them seem less sh#tty. Outrageous cosmetic prices and €50 if you want them as a bundle with SH for those naive enough to buy it. With all that and bad ranking matches where I'm 13 getting a 16 with 4 different teachables and 3 red ranks.
I say it's safe to say and what's fair to say is BHVR really f#cked things up this time and if this persists for much longer, I think a petition for getting refunded for this game is something to be considered. In my opinion, the game is an unplayable and broken state that nobody should have to endure just cause "Oh, it'll get well soon" is written on a card.
What's your opinion people?
First off, that's what you consider a "long text"? That's almost nothing.
Second off, the idea of a petition for a "mass refund" is absolutely laughable and would never realistically happen especially for those of us who are veterans, play on a consistent, or even semi-consistent basis, which is many. Most of us have far too many hours clocked and our initial purchase was probably made far too long ago to make a refund anywhere near reasonable.
Not to mention, DBD is a product bought and paid for through different live services, like Steam, the windows store, the playstation store, the nintendo eShop, or hell even buying a physical copy from an actual retail location for a console like PS4 or Xbox. So I don't think that's how that works, and I don't think these companies are just gonna give you money for free.
Especially for the latter. Imagine walking up to the customer service desk of your local target or whatever, slapping down your 2 year old copy of Dead By Daylight saying: "I hate how this game is balanced, and a lot of new bugs came out in the latest update. I want a refund!!"
As bad as issues with DBD can be, the community has ridden out these waves as they come and go and this is nothing new. It's specifically worse point in DBD history considering how well they had been doing especially recently, but in the grand scheme of things, things both have been and could be a lot worse. So I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon.

The only problem that I have with ph is that cages activate moris, but not ds. Either the cages should activate ds, or they shouldn't activate moris. Survivor main, btw. Killer mains are the exact same,(Whiny #########) so don't go shaming someone's main because of a stereotype, as both sides can be entitled.
And y'know what, that's a fair point that I might actually agree with, in the grand scheme of things it's not necessary that moris should activate on PH cages.
However, that doesn't change the fact that DS is absolutely bullshit, and needs to be changed. Pronto.

For real? Don't a Lisa or you get banned? 🤣
No, people were making plans that if a lisa (or lisas) came into their lobby, they would purposefully, deliberately, and exclusively only hunt down, tunnel, and kill the lisas and then let everyone else go.
So if one person was playing Lisa they'd focus purely on killing them and then let the other 3 just walk out for free.

"Name a single other multiplayer game that allows you to sucide/remove yourself from the game while playing ranked."
As much as i want to die for saying this. But fortnite allows it. In tournaments (which are ranked) dont punish you for disconecting in a match because hey its a game and your allowed to have fun and while your vonna pull the tos out on me. Save it for someone who cares. If im not having fun i eill suicide on hook Because im not staying to just waste my time. I have had team mates work on a gen right next to me as i was on hook and before you say "but the killer was probally camping" they werent they were on the other side of the map chasing someone so im not staying in that game. Suiciding on hook isnt against any rules as you did play the game , you got in the game found the killer and got downed. That is still playing the game and when you want you can leave as dbd has two main ways out the exits or say it with me death and suiciding is choosing death as a way out of the match. So hows everyones day been? Hope its been good.
Disgusting.
Spits
What a shoddy example. Not just by reputation, but also in gameplay it's a battle royale, so nobody cares if you dc because it's less competition for everybody else.
Even if that weren't true, a single game (especially FORTNITE of all things...) does not upset the standard set by most multiplayer titles in the industry. Where the overall consensus is that disconnecting, or purposefully losing which may as well equate to the same thing, are never encouraged, often discouraged, and frequently punished. That is the standard
Not to mention I'm not going to abide by a philosophy set by Fortnite of all titles, and I think many would agree with that statement. Spits again

Yep. This is what the rift is like.
It takes you about 90% of the way there and then you have to grind on your own the last 10% of your rift without the aid of any challenges, master challenges or end of the rift tiers.
Easily and undoubtedly by far the most intense grind of the entire rift is at the very end for those last 8 levels and you have to grind for hours every single day. It's misleading and misguiding to even imply that this would be quick, the devs might say "oh it's just 8 levels, you've already gone through 62" and that's deliberately misleading logic. The longest grind is for those 8 levels, out of the entire thing.
Unfortunately (or fortunately? Depending on how you see it) for me I did not have the time to play DBD this time around to complete the rift and I was unable to grind for it. But I remember what the past two tomes were like and how hellish the grind was, I had to stop playing other games I wanted to play and doing other things I wanted to do just to grind for DBD. Even my friends were getting mad at me because I repeatedly put them off because "I needed to grind Dead By Daylight" (and since NONE of them play Dead By Daylight, none of them were very sympathetic).
It's absolutely bullsh*t that the rift doesn't take you all the way to tier 70. Players go out of their way to play characters they don't play, integrate perks they never use into their perk builds, stretch well beyond their comfort zone, and regularly deal with BS challenges like getting kills during the endgame collapse or escaping through the hatch with a key. And after it's all said and done there's STILL more grinding for you to do afterward, all independent, by yourself.
It feels like you're forced to play the game, and it becomes less "I play DBD for fun" to "I play DBD to grind" which in turn actively sucks the fun out of playing, because it's no longer entirely of your own volition.
@felipao_brabo said:
weird, i've done like half of them and I'm 64
Depending on how long it took you to finish all the challenges in the first place, you could have more shards than others. Meaning if you got stuck for a long time on one challenge, you were gaining individual shards that entire time putting you slightly ahead simply because you were grinding matches without completing challenges already. So when you're finally done with it all you could be slightly ahead or slightly behind depending on how quickly and efficiently you finished all tiers of the rift.
Regardless however, most people end up around the low 60s, 62 is a pretty good number for reference but I'm not surprised if you finished it all and made it to 64. Either way, you've still got a decent grind ahead of you and at the very least you'd have some 5 levels to grind for independently. Which is still a long time, it's still not excusable, and most importantly: it's still not fun.

After the Meg gets unhooked, every survivor gets chased and downed, and one of them is hooked. 59 seconds later, DS still hits. How is this still considered an anti-tunnel perk?
Answer: IT'S NOT.
It's complete bullshit and the only people who defend it are completely misguided, misinformed, or flat out biased.
It's hilarious, that when PH releases people (survivor mains I can only assume) freaked out and condemned his power immediately when everybody on the live build realized DS wasn't working. Threads cropping up the very same day or soon after he released to "fix the problem"
When hold on, hear me out, Decisive Strike has been receiving complaints ever since it released alongside the Halloween chapter in October of 2016.
Think about that for a second. The "problem" that just became a "problem" maybe a week ago, is more pressing to fix than the problem that has been widely known about and expressed since 2016 for four years.
That's like telling a self-destructive alcoholic who has been an alcoholic for four years to cut back on all the junk food he's suddenly been eating in the past week. Uhm, THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM.
-
The devs (or at least mods) pretty quickly condemned the widespread targeting of Lisa, locking out and pulling down all the threads that were discussing it, calling it out as griefing which is a bannable offense, I would expect this would be treated similarly.
...Although who knows, maybe it will grab the devs attention.
