  • i never understand why everybody thinks David is gay, I’m British myself and I know plenty of people who look like David and are up for a good scrap at the pub and they’re the furthest thing from gay, is it because he’s strong? I don’t get it lmao

wait so your saying being able to ignore a secondary objective is fine if its for the killer, but not fine if your a survivor. Hypocrite much?

killers primary objective is killing survivors and their secondary objective is preventing gens being done. The killer gets no BP for protecting a totem, it is a not an objective for them. Killers get medals for using their power, chasing, protecting gens and killing survivors. Survivors on the other hand get both BP and medals from destroying totems, that is their secondary objective guy.

All of your examples are balanced but spirit, as she has mobility and the second best chase power in the game. However, i do agree with you that survivors have broken things too. But the thing is, those killers do need rework/nerfs, and so do the broken things on the survivor side. The devs don't seem to get that you shouldn't be adding broken ######### to counter other broken #########. You just fix the broken #########.

No they don’t, every other killer apart from nurse is completely reliant on “mind games” which is a fancy word for guess work on most loops, why is it fine when legion has to grind hard for 4k at the highest level but when it’s flipped to the killers favour it needs a rework.

  • You can say that about any game tho every game is going to have sweaty players that won’t be fun to play against if you’re playing for fun

I dont know if 80% killrate should be the gold standard or can be called pretty ballanced.

is that his kill rate at the highest level though because that’s the only stat that should matter.

This is just a reminder that yes, there are indeed survivors who do bones in order to try and counter NoED. These players also generally don't gen-rush.

When these players come here and say that NoED is indeed a terrible perk and needs changing, they're right. They do not need to "git gud", they do not need to hear "Just do bones." and they do NOT need to hear a garbage spiel about how easy the perk is to counter, the killer is "oNlY pLaYiNg WiTh 3 PeRkS!" or the points of DS/BT/DH/UB being perks and can be stacked.

To now make the "Do bones" argument null and void, I will now highlight every way that this argument is totally invalid:

    • Survivor perks, such as Decisive Strike and Unbreakable are used with the hope that they are NEVER ACTIVATED. Well, for a lot of their users anyway. People can claim this as being perks down, much like the arguments for NoED.
    • The so-called Survivor equivelant, Adrenaline, is only a small and temporary boost while NoED is permanent if activated. Yes, the health state is temporary, but there are several killers that have base-kit instant downs so this really shouldn't be THAT big of an issue.
    • NoED does not discriminate between those who have done totems and those who do not. This leads to several cases like mine where I am commonly doing 3-4 dull totems MYSELF and getting killed after only one hit and hook. I am being punished for others failing, not my own failure. I know that Survivor is technically a team game, but there is a point where the individual should not be punished for the failures of the team.
    • It creates bad habits. Rather than actually adapting to applying pressure through various means, or learning how to improve in chases, NoED is used as a safety net in order to get kills that one would not normally be able to achieve, making them think that they are more skilled than they actually are. Rather than getting better at their role, they are telling others to do way more work because they refuse to adapt.
    • Counters to a majority of Survivor perks are merely a change in mindset or playstyle, such as trading hooks to apply pressure and avoid Decisive Strike AND Borrowed Time. NoED requires survivors to go out of their way in order to stop one of your perks.
    • The "counters" are also indirect and limited, also chewing up valuable perk slots for other perks to counter some of the more unsavoury tactics that killers use and are not perk dependent.

Main point here is that yes, I do the dull totems. They are more bloodpoints and cancel the perk. I AM NORMALLY THE ONE TO GET HIT BY IT. Most of these games, it is also the first hook that I will be placed on and will also ultimately kill me.

There are also many issues that I have with NoED on a fundamental level as a perk, especially with it's activation for both general activation and notification of it's activity. Every other Hex perk requires ONE totem to be destroyed, where as NoED can have up to 5 required, before endgame.

All exposure effects outside of NoED and Devour Hope also give instant notification. Devour Hope also has a lengthy list of requirements to activate outside of "be loosing" in order to achieve the same effect. Devour Hope is also a TEACHABLE perk, one that should be more powerful than base-perks as you have to do a lot more work for them to become available.

So, fellow killers, while you lot think up of an actual excuse for NoED being the way it is, I'll be off actually doing the damn bones whenever I decide to indulge in a little bit of Survivor while I try to progress my Archives. In the meantime, whenever any of you argue about Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable just remember this advice, since it's ok for YOU to give it: Just don't tunnel, camp or slug. Never mind that the survivor ran at you or started working on that generator or unhooking that other survivor in your face. Kinda hypocritical, isn't it? That's how I feel every time I hear the phrase "just do bones".

I did them, so now what?

Aite lemme breakdown your counter argument.

1- But, EVERY game, the killers entire objective is down and hook you, so 100% of the time DS and BT and Unbreakable and other stuff are ALWAYS viable. You might go a whole game without using DS, but, the killer might have seen the obsession in the bottom corner and assumed you had it so lost pressure avoiding you on purpose to go for somebody else, it's always a constant threat.

2- There are, two killers out of 20 that have a CONSTANT one hit down ability so in 1/10 of games this applies. Adrenaline saves half a minute that you would have to spend healing, and can be very brutal in a SWF. It also gives you a sprint burst.

3- In a team game the individuals will always be punished by their teammates under-performing that's why "you're only as strong as your weakest link" is such a common phrase IRL. Unfortunately that's just how it is, you're going to have teammates that just rush gens, That's not even a bad thing, because NOED doesn't just give you a down, you still have to earn it, you can still be looped.

4- You are right here, it does create bad habits and it can completely turn a tide of the match. But, only until a certain rank. At green rank you might safety with the one kill NOED gets you, but as you get into Purple/red you will start depipping with just one kill obtained from NOED, at which players will have to start looking at themselves. NOED is a perk designed to help new players who are in a unfortunate situation which can be abused by higher ranked players, just like all the crutch things on the survivor side.

5- By that logic, Thrill of the Hunt is unbalanced because survivors have to go out of their way to prevent the perk. It's a secondary objective. Which is why all Hex perks are risk/reward. Survivors may do no Totems so you get maximum value out of Ruin/Lullaby/NOED etc etc or they actually do something other than rush gens like doing totems.

6-Alternatively just bring a map and whatever perks you want.

I am by no means a killer main, I play both equally and don't really have a problem with NOED, and when I do play survivor I play solo 90% of the time.

  • @Carpemortum said:

    Rank never meant anything. 🤷‍♀️

So the average rank 20 is as good as the average rank 1? That’s what you’re saying and that’s ######### stupid

  • Killers are supposed to be the power role, there’s nothing wrong with spirit and you can mind game her. It’s just a different kind of mind game.

  • Yall putting Spirit down low is a crime

  • I played four matches as spirit and faced four man SWF sweat squads all four times (confirmed in the post game chat) two of them sent me to ormond. Love MMR so ######### fun....

  • Was most certainly not balanced for killer in 2017 lmao, survivor is still the power role at the highest level but it’s getting better.

  • Anybody who doesn’t say survivor hasn’t played killer at high ranks.

  • I play on a controller on pc and have no problem vs any killer or playing any killer. There isn’t really much difference

  • An addon for legion which removes their ability to jump over pallets and windows, but gives them the ability to down with a second hit of frenzy. Downing a survivor also depletes your frenzy.

  • Ignore everybody else and pick Nancy

  • Any outfit is usable on any character as long as they’re the same gender. That would be cool.

  • Weird that the nightmare edition doesn’t give you the nightmare

  • You absolutely have to balance for the top 1% otherwise the gap is bigger at the top 1% the lesser players can always improve but you cannot overcome an advantage set in place by the game being balanced towards rank 20’s

  • See this could be a perk, so we’d actually get a relatively useful killer perk in a dlc instead of cruel limits.

it wouldn’t be meta by any means but it would synergise with some things

  • Midwich and Dead Dawg Saloon are fun for both sides.

  • It’s actually great. I have fun as survivor and killer. Yall just need to learn the map. There are locations that always spawn gens if you’re struggling to find them.

as survivor, yes, there’s a LOT of unsafe pallets. But there is also 5 God pallets that can spawn and 1 god window.

alternatively for killer, the god window can be disabled with a destructible wall, most of the pallets are unsafe as I mentioned. There might be a few god pallets but the map doesn’t feel too large so I feel that’s a fair trade off.

it seems it’s been perfectly designed for pyramid head, because even the god pallets are easy for him to hit due to the nature of them only being accessible in a straight line.

I can only really understand being frustrated on this map as a Legion, Myers, Ghostface and similar M1 relative killers.

hag, trapper, huntress, nurse, pyramid head, Freddy and most killers won’t have a rough time on this map, and as I mentioned earlier, if you have even a basic sense of looping you’ll have some good chases as survivor.

  • Are you a survivor main or a killer main?

  • I do well on it on both sides, one of the better maps in the game

  • I mean using it at the right time is something you come to learn over time. I don’t run at the start of the match. I’ll use it if I have to make a save or get to the other side of the map quickly otherwise I’ll just walk.. I’m red rank, mainly a solo player and probably survive 4/5 matches so it’s working fine.

  • Yall forget that the pallet is a 50/50 for both the survivor and the spirit player, drop the pallet

  • You should be doing totems anyway.

  • You can’t nerf SWF without making it harder for solo players, the best thing to do is buff solo players on so they match SWF.

firstly, add a UI, similar to what was just added to gears 5 which notifies you if you’re against a stack team, because then at the very least you know what you’re up against and can prepare.

one of the things about SWF is the unknown, are these players communicating? We don’t know, I’d be fine with a proximity chat

  • I saw legion in the first post and seeing as he’s almost universally considered one of the worst killers I can now assume this thread is a joke

  • Counter to object of obsession

    “Weapon of Obsession”

this perk does not create an obsession, and only activates if a survivor has an obsession based perk.

whenever your obsession looks at you from 60 metres or further away. The aura’s of all other survivors in the trial is revealed.

I’ve always been curious as to why killers find some perks to be so game breaking... Why is DS such an issue? BT? Unbreakable? Feel free to add any other perks that are extremely effective that you all have problems with.

This is an attempt to understand the complaints, not an attack. At most I’ll just respond with what I think are simple counters, ways around, etc.

DS and BT are perks that can lose you a game on their own. The only killer perk that does that is NOED. One perk shouldn’t cost the killer or the survivor the game.

But I mean, you still never addressed his points which are pretty valid ones at that

All you did was come over here and say "Deathslinger is F tier" and that was it.

You cannot do anything to a remotely decent pyramid head in loops, he can switch to his M2, you either throw down the pallet and get stuck in an animation to which he doesn’t miss. Or you run through it and he simply switches back to his M1 with no cool down and hits you.

he says pyramid head has a huge cool down which is true. But a good pyramid head isn’t wasting shots, he’ll be setting it up to bait a vault or a pallet and switch to an M1 or he’ll commit when you lock into an animation.

deathslinger has way more range for sure, but if you hit somebody from long range you just need an object in your way and you’re set. He’s the biggest cuckhold, he’s huntress lite.

pyramid head can literally down several survivors with his M2 when overly altruistic survivors make risky hook saves.

  • Deathslinger is garbage

    legion is B tier

the last two maps have been excellent

    Pyramid Head is A tier

Deathslinger is the new nurse it seems. Players that aren't good with him think he's bad because there's more to his kit than point and click.

PH has a telegraphed windup, DS does not. DS can force relocate players to less safe areas, PH cannot. You can react dodge to PH's ranged attack, DS's attack you cannot. PH has an extremely long cooldown after his ranged attack, DS does not (even if you count the reload, DS's is still far less punishing). PH has a cage mechanic that half the time results in losing pressure due to the survivor always being caged across the map, though the mori at the end is extremely nice. However DS has an extremely small and quiet TR that allows you to get right on top of players with M&A for totally free hits. Both are very good killers, however I put DS as A tier and PH as B+ tier.

Love the assumption. I’m dog ######### with nurse but I understand she’s the best killer in the game. You can learn how good a killer is by playing against them just as much as playing with them. If I run into a deathslinger I know that I have a decent chance of surviving. He is ass. I’m not some bum green rank either playing against people who don’t know how to play him.

  • you know what would have been much better? Double blood points

there is a 100% anti-facecamp mechanism which is "the box" PH has

I thought so too, but people are complaining about that as well. I don't get it, He can't get there before survivors unless survivors don't play properly, but people still moan lol
