https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/148561/devs-survivor-is-still-too-easy
IMO the best way to fix the survivors being easy is to remove DS and BT. let me explain why.
First of the problem lie a bit deeper. it hard to do any change to objectives cause of a nasty loop
Survivor control the game space with Generators, nothing relly stop them from doing them in a real efficient way, if there isin't a minimum of 1 survivor on gen, your team doing something wrong.
Killer control the game space by hooking survivor, issue is that they can't tunnel and just, do the equivalent of gen rush, so survivor have a saying on how fast you do that, cause let be real, no survivor will let themself be catch gently without running.
So here we got 2 options, keep anti tunnel gameplay a thing and nerf gen speed/Give killer stronger gen slowing perk
OR
Keep gen as they are but remove anti tunnel perk so killer have a similar thing to ''gen rushing'' and can control the space of the game too
Now these 2 option are far from ideal, and let me explain why I prefer the second one.
The reason gen rushing can't be nerfed to much or can't have big op perk to counter them is that it exist for a reason. it a way to counter Camping.
If killer decide he facecamp at first hook, survivor have the option to just waste the killer time and be done with it.
You can't just remove camping from the game either cause if the survivor swarm the hook, the killer have no reason not to camp.
So were left with the other option, It let the killer control the game too and have a way to ''Kill rush'' and control the space of the game as well.
The issue with that is that now, survivor A can be punished by the mistake of Survivor B, if let say, survivor B do a safe unhook/don't body block or take a hit to let survivor A go to safety.
But is it relly an issue too? Survivor are a team. If one member does a good move, the whole team benefit from it, if one member does a bad move, the whole team is punished for it, that how team work.
Right now with current DS we got stupid senario like
Survivor A is injured and being chased, he does the very bad move by unhooking Survivor B, who has DS.
Killer can catch up to Survivor B who did'nt have time to run far, but cant pick them up for 1 min, so killer can hook survivor A. He now have to protect a hooked person and a slugged on, while making sure to apply pressure to the 2 other survivor.
Yes, the killer can play around that, but I don't think that healthy. No matter how you look at it, killer has two option.
- he let survivor B run away and don't get to profit that much of survivor A being a potatoes
- He enter a senario where he got 1 hook and 1 slug, but he has to waste 1 minutes cause of DS and clearly he has to sacrifice pressure or the slug or the hooked people. other wise he don't get that much from the lost minutes and he clearly can't be at 3 place at once.
So with current DS and this situation even if survivor A did a real bad mistake, the team win 1 minutes out of that mistake. yea he got someone down but they still gained 1 minutes from it.
you don't get to be in a team, but only get the good side of it by profiting that you all have the same objectifm but If survivor A do bad and involve Survivor B, survivor B can avoid consequence Or give his team an extra minute by just existing. At the same time, the killer is alone and can't be penalised by a teamate cause he got none, But he don't get the benefit of, let say, Having a second killer body blocking a survivor when first killer miss a M1.
Yea I understand it suck that Survivor B is penalised by Survivor A, but that what playing in a team is. Look at sport, let say soccer. if you try to kick the soccer ball to your teamate since your cornered, but then your teamate suck and don't catch the ball, well guess, what the other team will try and get the ball and profit of your teamate mistake. The game won't just go on pause to let you get the ball back because your good but your teamate bad.
That being said I don't think it the best way to make the game more balanced, but at this point the whole game need a rework and any bigger change than that would be a hudge shift to the game balance.
"IMO the only way to fix survivor is to let me tunnel off hook without consequence".

Nurse, Huntress & Deathslinger, all killer that are known to be hard on console due to the controls, people really do always use the worst examples of killers being weak and survivors being strong.

This is exactly how Killers are treated on the other side, and as someone who plays both sides. It's deffiently the killer's who get's the shittier end of that stick.
One video of the only Killer that can behave like this isn't going to make your point.
the tbagging is irrelevant, whether the killer is standing there or tbagging waiting for survivors to bleed out when you know where they are is the issue, people are focusing far too much on the tbagging.

When EGC wasn't a thing, survivors did what was essentially the same thing all the time, 99ing the gates and then spamming vaults and taunting the killer into chasing them out. Hell, they're still able to do that to an extent, because the timer is too goddamn long.
Still different, killers were too stubborn to hold W which would have made the survivors leave, what can a survivor do on the floor besides bleed out? It's ok to be bias but at least admit it, there's something killers can do to force the match end, there's nothing survivors can do besides wait.
and the timer is fine, it's not supposed to apply pressure, it's only meant as a tool to make sure matches have a definitive end.
-
@CosmicParagon said:
So it's OK when survivors do it, but when the Killer does it it's toxic?
They're pretty different, though.
A survivor t-bagging can be killed, or if they're doing it in the exit gate they can be pushed out, a survivor who is on the floor being tbagged can't do anything, and that's not even the point really, a killer has the game in the bag, if the killer wasn't tbagging and instead just stood over the player and waited for them to bleed out, that is unnecessary when you can both end the game fairly quickly.

Every killers that runs iris just rides the survivors booty and throws it, has nothing to do with practice at all, and you say "a rare item that costs tons of resources" yet none of the survivor pinks are worth 7K anymore but I'm sure you're perfectly fine with how "strong" they are.

Gen speed did'nt get touch and anyone saying it changed, has wrongly read the patch note. The only time it will be affected is if 4 survivor work on the same gens whitout the gens speed perk. Meaning the gens speed dosen't change if survivor work on differant gens. Still say what you want, but there a reason survivor queu time is long and there a reason you often see red ranked survivor in your match as a low rank killer.
No, you've read it wrong, it has effected all generators with more than one person on it, usually when generators are being worked on by more than one person the speed is decreased by 10%, this is now 15%
"The repair speed Efficiency Debuff for each Survivor working on a generator has been increased to 15% (up from 10%)."
-
Yep, every patch killers come to the forums and act like gen speeds are some how different.

I turned off notifications long ago. Have a friend that likes to spam invites for half an hour straight. I do like getting into convos with salty people. I just give them the play by play of what I was doing. There's no escalation.
I just listed what other people complained about. That profile graffiti thing sounds like serious business. And queue times are just as bad? You'd think the world was ending from AA. Imagine the fallout when we get chromatic aberration.
You can turn off profile comments from non-friends off just as much as you can turn notifs off.
PC DBD is by far the superior version.
-
Slugging is perfectly fine, it's boring, but you get boring matches sometimes it's how every online game is like.
-
You should go to the bug section on the forums and report or upvote this bug, the more information the developers have on certain bugs the easier it is to diagnose.
-
I'm just going to keep commenting in this because the devs need realise this is an issue, it's 2020 and they're pushing a game with no options, I never disabled AA because it never made my game look bad, but why on earth are disabling these things without giving us in game options, I have a 2K monitor and I'd love to be able to run the game in 1080p without having to change my screen res (because the game forces itself to be 2K) get rid of the silly slider and give us options BHVR, it's been too long.

HamletEagle basically answered it, but it's to prevent malicious modification of the ini files to gain an advantage. Unfortunately that means that other harmless tweaks, like disabling anti aliasing, are also disabled. It's not just to spite the people who prefer playing without anti aliasing.
Then can we finally get some basic graphics settings in the settings? It's completely ridiculous for the game to only have what it currently has, let us have options, it's about time.
-
It's a shame matchmaking is so scuffed because playing killer is the easiest it has ever been, hopefully they fix it soon so you can at least practice with people against your own skill level, all that aside enjoy playing the game how you want.

Except that is not whats going on in this game. People are bouncing up and down. 99.99999% of the time there's nobody underneath them. Short of certain moris survivrs die face down so even a dc'd body can't technically be teabagged since the mouth is in the ground.
This is just a really silly conversion in my opinion. Quick crouching is neither fair or unfair. Can it be annoying? Yes. Does it skew the results of a game in any direction? Not really. It triggers some people. It used to bother me but i got over it pretty quickly.
It was the dumbest question I've seen on a survey in a very long time.
Pointing at someone is mock assaulting them, you're obviously mock poking them with your finger, and beckoning is also mock slapping someone, duh.

Please do tell me what part of my post was ignorance.
Sorry that your entire DBD experience has been on the killer side and you guys still can't figure it out, maybe you'd be better suited to Last Year, or something?
-
Yea, I agree we should have a speed bleed.
They force survivors now if everyones on the hook to die instantly so you aren't making the killer wait (and you lose points because of no struggle). But sometimes a killer can just force a survivor to bleed out for the entire duration because, why not?

You can press the small arrow next to the chat and it hides it.

Because pallets and windows are still a thing. Maps with large open areas with plenty ti rub through are still a thing. So basically, yes, looping is still a thing
Looping is necessary for survivors to play, bloodlust was never intended to stop looping but to make it easier to counter strong loops, if all loops are average then bloodlust loses the reason for it to exist.

I've seen you play, it's definitely not the survivors that are the reason you don't do so well.
SWF honestly isn't all that bad, and it's really tiresome to see people constantly complain about it when I'm sure 80% of the games being played are two 2s or less.

They just need to enable the killer to use one-way voice chat to talk at the survivors.
I'm sure being on the receiving end of a constant stream of insults and abuse would make the game more fun for the survivors, and it's just words, so it's not like it would negatively affect the fairness of the game.
i wouldn't care if there was an option to mute it, just like theres an option to hide the chat. also a killer could just blast music through the mic and make it harder to play so, no.

It's nested under steam roaming data not DBD so I should be fine. If it was actually in the DBD game configs I would just deal with it.
It's in the same set of folders that holds the perk files, and the devs still warn people to change at your own risk, they don't even allow people to post about perk changing on the forums so regardless of whether it's safe or not they wont allow you to talk about it.
-
What do you exactly think killers did 2 years ago when survivors actually did have OP stuff in every match?
They still 4Kd, and the game has only become more balanced since then, I think people need to start accepting that they probably just aren't as good as they'd hoped and regardless of the changes balancing the sides out they'll probably never consistently 2K+
-
It involves modifying game files, while it may seem innocent the staff will warn you to change these at your own risk.
-
No, it's perfectly fine as a standard perk, and certainly isn't strong enough to warrant being a hex.
-
It's the test question, they obviously just delete anyones survey who seriously thinks tbagging effects the outcome of a match :P

About question 1. What PC and consoles players have to encourage our selfs? Is it only some free characters?
You paid for the game, you're already encouraged to play.
-
- Because the mobile version is free, the incentive to earn something meaningful has to be there to encourage play, so they give out minimal auric cells to tease you into purchasing more, it's a simple yet effective tactic to encourage people to sepdn.
- It is unlikely that the warning level will attract mods to your posts, it may however put your post at the top of a list if it is to be reported by people, although this is also likely not the case and all reports and threads are checked on a post by post, report by report basis and in order.
- Bans are not to be discussed on the forum, this is a rule and you should know this if you have been reported as this should have prompted you to re-read the rules to become quantified with them.
- Coal Tower is the smallest map at 8,448m2, Dead Dawg Saloon & Rancid Abattoir are joint second for 8704m2
-
Here's the NOED scenario I see most often.
Killer finds someone, killer proxy camps,
What do killers tell survivors they should do to counter camping? You got it, do gens.
Survivors do gens and "rush" them.
Survivor dies after being camped and the killer then gets to pick themselves up another kill at the end after NOED procs because those lazy survivors tried to do the gens instead of throwing themselves at a camping killer.

My complaint is killer meta gets nerfed constantly whilst survivors don't. When was the last time they fixed DS? As I've already explained, it's easy to stack and abuse it, but will there ever be a patch even attempting to mitigate DS abuse? no, that would be too anti-survivor. Hex ruin, Nurse in general, iron grasp, the list goes on for the amount of times they obliterate killer meta.
And yeah, I complain when survivors keep getting new ways to earn even more BP whilst killers get things like no BP gain when attacking at the gates and trying to shoo off gate campers. On a good game I'll earn 25k or so BP as killer, top 2 survivors will earn ~20k, other 2 will earn 10k+. all 4 of them will go on to afford new items and addons (but they never lose items without dying now anyway so hey they even get to save BP now), at a significantly faster rate than I can. Best items for killers all revolve around minimizing our score. Sure a mori gives as much pip as a direct sacrifice, but you lose all your extra pip and BP from 1-2 more chases, 3-4 (or more) injuries inflicted, and that's how it works for killers; almost all our ultra-rares are built around minimizing our progression.
But if you think everything is fine, you should be fine going back and waiting longer and longer queue times as less and less people play killer.
I'll just play killer because I'm actually competent at it, I'm surprised killers haven't gotten tired of "nerf everything" yet, DS was nerfed, it's way better than it used to be, I very rarely if ever get struck by DS but I know I'm competent enough to win without tunneling.

"Survivors don't have it that easy"
*explains how survivors game the system*
"lol well you're just bad then"
Outstanding counter.
You must be though, anyone who's first point of balance is to talk about how "free" survivor points are when every man and woman under the sun knows killers earn more clearly isn't thinking straight, anyone who constantly complains about the meta perks but probably also likely complains about any survivor perk buffs isn't worth talking about, try killing people during the match I don't see how people see end game all the time with 4 survivors still up, you have to be pretty terrible at this game if your'e constantly end gaming it with 4 survivors and none of them are dead on hook but ready to pounce with the indestructible and undefeatable perks.
-
@Traslogan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1230020#Comment_1230020
So you're telling me it's impossible for SWF to stack DS? I see this every other game now. It's end game collapse, you can't be tunneling, it's EGC, by definition no one is getting tunneled as they made it to the end. Know what SWF do? You hook player 1, so player 2 unhooks Player 1 who has DS. You down player 2 for this, and hook them. Player 1 takes a slash from borrowed time if he can, unsafe unhooks player 2 and now both have DS active. Unless they are on the wrong end of a rectangular map, they can crawl to the gates in time, if you pick either one up, they deduct -3 from your pip for DS being fired, and get away guaranteed.
And killers earn a tiny bit more than survivors, it's like 25k versus 22k on a good game, but that's 1 killer versus 4 survivors, and again survivors keep getting more and more ways to earn free points. "aww diddums you DS'd him and died anyway, here's 1000 points just for being the obsession".
Survivors get to stack extremely efficient OP meta perks, which never get nerfed in the slightest, whilst killers are getting nerfed at every possible opportunity. Hexes are useless, most killers have no way to be mobile enough to cover the map now, and whilst survivors keep getting new ways to earn ever-more points, we get shafted by things like "well if you were near the gate, your attacks just don't count lol"
I'm sorry that you struggle at such an easy game.
-
Like a lot of killers who don't pay enough attention, around 8 months ago? they changed the matchmaking to where survivors can be put into lobbies without a killer, and then the killer joins them, so it looks like how it did when a 4 man used to join, they all load in together, this is what you're experiencing not 3/4Mans galore.

Survivors get free points just for dying as obsession now, you get points just for vaulting in a chase iirc. You're absolutely coddled.
Killers aren't even allowed to score if they hit you at the gates, it just doesn't count. You can stack DS on us, borrowed time can be activated by the same person on 3 unhooks in the span of 10 seconds, SWF is the majority of all games now and the final killer with high mobility got nerfed and hex ruin's nerf crippled all low-mobility killers who have no means to keep up with the game's pace anymore.
Every core meta of killers has been nerfed. Survivor meta of stacking DS and borrowed time? Nope, it's never going to get touched, because it'll impact their bottom line.
It is 100% pro-survivor, but SWF seem to think that as long as one of them can die in the game then it's still pro-killer, even though killers are tougher to rank up and we have to get at least 3 kills and 9-10 hooks to have a chance of ranking up (Every time you heal we lose all the score we got from injuring you, because that's how anti-killer it is).
You do what, 2 gens and do it with co-op and you're near maxing pips. Do a gate and that's another third of a pip alone. No reason to leave early during EGC because every second alive is just more free score for you until the killer chases you off. But killers? Play shape and if you don't max out your stalking on all 4 survivors, even with the no-one-escaped bonus you won't max out deviousness pip.
I don't know why you keep bringing up points, it's proven, time and time again across a million matches that a killer will get more points than survivors, even when a team of survivors escapes they can end up with less points than a killer, I really don't know why you're using the system we use to spend BP as a reason that the game is survivor sided.
DS & Borrowed time together isn't an issue, this 100% means that you chased after the one being unhooked instead of the unhooker that you were right next to, you just need more time in the game, or if you have a tonne of time you've hit your peak and likely won't get any better so keep playing, be deranked to the rank you're supposed to be at and when the matchmaking is fixed you can continue on with your 1/2Ks or whatever it is you average.
-
Yes I do because I really don't care, it's a game, while I don't DC myself I really don't care if a survivor DC's on my team or against me when I play killer, it's so far away from the things i care about in life.

2.5 hours as Killer is laughable. I can pinpoint a precise time Killer was easier. Two of them, actually: Before Ruin getting gutted and before Nurse getting gutted.
I think you misunderstand, I played 2.5 hours as killer yesterday, I've probably played at least a thousand hours as killer, I consistently 3K without breaking a sweat, I never pick and choose my lobbies I always ready to when 4 survivors drop in.
Lmao, nurse didn't make the killer experience easier, how did nurse make playing trapper easier? Oh wait it didn't, nurse is still the best killer if you're actually good at her and didn't rely on her addons, as for ruin, maybe you're right there, but it's a perk I've never used and have always been able to consistently 3/4K without, it was definitely not needed though.

PSA: This is what Willful blindness looks like.
So please, tell me what you want in the match that doesn't just make it easier for you, I'll wait.
All you ever do is complain about second chance perks etc, what do you want doing with these, do you want them nerfed? Because oddly enough that makes the game easier for you, not sure if you knew that but nerfs make the game easier for the opposite side.
I'm sorry you've devoted this much time to killer and still get upset at the fact you have to earn your wins.
You essentially killed everyone, you had everyone down, someone got lucky and crawled to the hatch.
