Not saying I do. I would enjoy playing Killer more knowing the 4mans are gone for good, as I'm sure other people would as well. More so than the amount of people that would miss the 4man SWFs. That group is more of a single LOUD minority.
What do you mean 4 mans are the loud minority?
The only reason I'm discussing it is because killers keep bringing up how SWF is cheating and should be removed, I never see people arguing for 4 mans unless it's replying to someone asking for the removal of them, and It's rare that I ever even play in a 4 man, but expecting people to play kyf because they have enough friends for a full team is a little silly.

Maybe not for you. You don't speak for anyone but yourself just like us so take a chill pill. Relax and go watch scooby doo.
Yea? Enjoy playing hundreds of hours amongst the same 5 people my guy, if you get enjoyment out of doing that AND not earning anything you're in the minority, I promise you.

You need 5 people to do a custom? No freaking way? ..... Did I really have to spell out for you that they could just get a Killer friend to join them. Geezus "lol". Put 2 and 2 together for yourself please.
I like how you hyperfocus on the completely irrelevant part and ignore the part about how there's no enjoyment in facing the same killer over and over and over again, or earning 0 points, there is 0 fun to be had in a kyf, just get some friends and play swf i promise you, you don't have to hate it lol

Regardless. It was a bad call. Make 4mans do Custom Game. Solved. 2man SWF can still Q up regularly. 4man SWF is just unfair.
You need 5 people to do a custom game and there is nothing fun about Vsing the same players for 0 points, just get some friends and play swf dude jfc it isn't taboo lol.

Technically he isn't wrong. SWF's operate outside of the game's intended design. The game wasn't designed with survivor multi-player in mind and isn't balanced around it. When DbD released there was no option for SWF. BhVR only added it because survivors would dodge lobbies until they eventually matched up with their friends. That's why so many early perks were designed around taking information away from survivors, like Hex: Third Deal and Knock Out. This is a complete failure on BHVR's fault to build an online multi-player game in 2016 and not take into consideration that people would want to play with their friends.
This is why BHVR is planning to give solo survivors more information to boost them to near SEF levels so they can finally balance the game around SWF's.
You are entirely incorrect, lol.

Sorry, when a 30 second chase loses you the game, survivors don't get room to cry. "We just wanna play with friends" when it literally breaks the game. No other game on the market is broken by comms. DBD is. Don't even try to pretend it's not.
Cry about it dude, doesn't bother me, if every killer wants to cry about swf when they vs solos that's up to them but blaming every loss on it is just a cop out, too many incredibly average killer players want that free excuse as to why they lost.
-
@ThanksForDaily said:
Wait...I lost a game? Must be 4 stack SWF on comms. There's no other way.
Had some guy complain about SWF yesterday, it was me and my buddy and we weren't even in comms together because I couldn't be on mic, people are just mad others wanna play with friends most of the time.

Nah I'm use to typing to the "know it all" types. Tons of practice.
So your master plan was to type something that was wrong, because a "know it all" would correct you when the information is readily available and takes about 10 seconds to find?
I honestly think you typed that up thinking you looked smart by calling bhvr out on something they "hadn't addressed" and once finding out how immediately wrong you are you are playing defensive and backpeddling like you were just trying to trick a "know it all" into correcting you.
Great plan...
- Type up wrong information
- Get corrected

Took me about 10 seconds to find the thread I made back in 2018 about it, I'm sure it took you longer to write your comment than it did me to find the reply.

When the game was first released...SWF was not even a concept to be designed around..and it still isn't. Hence why its so powerful and still hasn't been officially addressed. The way the game was initially made did not account for something like...SWF.. Everyone on mics constantly letting every other person know exactly what the Killer is doing, where the Killer is, etc etc.... Makes it so one-sided. If anyone played against a team like this in there first few games of DBD... I'd bet a million dollars they'd never want to play again.
09:24 on this video they talk about how it was always intended to be added but they picked KYF to work on first, this whole point killers make about it not being in the game from the beginning as an argument that it shouldn't or wasn't supposed to exist is nonsense.
-
Why do you spend your time on the forums for a game you want dead? The amount of people on this forum that talk about how they don't even play anymore but spend hours here genuinely need to move on and do something that makes them happy instead of wasting their life posting these comments.

Damn, and survivors are allowed a no slow-down perk weekend as well?
-
First and Second day felt really good, third was very odd, lots of Wraiths with noed.
-
What exactly would a 'test' like this prove?
They've already said they're working on changes for it, we already know killers cry on the daily about it, what information would a 3 day test of removing Dead Hard actually do besides increase kill rates? lol.

Doors not spawning on Haddonfield?
They... haven't implemented breakable walls yet?
He means Badham preschool, Haddonfield has been disabled for weeks, it took Badhams doors a week to be fixed and didn't make the game unplayable, I'd argue that un-cleansable totem spots also don't make the game unplayable but breaking totems is a base mechanic that can have very strong hex' on it.
-
@Kurri said:
Remember they killswitched bloodlust for a test
Killswitch wasn't a thing, they tested removing bloodlust due to it being a mechanic that was added when loops were near impossible to beat as a killer. With loops being adjusted it was time to test the removal of bloodlust, and as it's still in the game it's probably safe to imply that the game isn't ready for it's removal just yet.
Why does testing the removal of a base mechanic that was added purely because loops were tough to deal with means they need to test disabling a perk. lol.
-
Because a fraction of the player base downloads the PTBs, additionally asking the players to have a PTB installed for 3 days, then installing the main game until April 4th, to then download it again when tests start would be a tall ask imo.

Only took nearly half a year of complaining and player numbers dropping like a rock lol
And how long did it take them to change spirit, or to remove Nurse with multiple blinks and no downsides? idk man, seems like they take forever to change things on both sides, 6 months and two nerfs is pretty fast considering the years it took them to change nurse and spirit etc.

Really?
What's more likely (as she used to be way more active and showed up in a lot more dbd related content) is the absolute dregs of this community (which is a lot of it) constantly harassing her on twitter and her own personal stream when changes didn't go their way (Dead Hard, DS, etc, etc) which actually drove her away, she was a wonderful CM and a genuinely nice person when you were afforded the opportunity to speak to her.
I've been missing her presence already but this sucks big time.

Hi Seanzu! Long time no see!
Unhooking (1), getting a protection hit (2), getting downed while protecting (3) IS more efficient than searching, hitting a survivor twice and hooking for a single stack. Even more, when a survivor disconnects before the killer gets his stack.
What point are you making here? All I said is that you've been saying it's easier even when it only counted for hook saves take your issue up with Karu.

Just offering a solution that worked for me, as you can see in the thread it worked for others too, don't understand what your point was with acting like it might not have been the issue when it has been for others.

It's still really early here, so I may be reading this wrong, but that doesn't make it better.
If it's just active queue, and not seeing people in matches, that still means there are over 3k survivors in the queue waiting to match with one of 26 killers. There's no chance of any reasonable level of "matchmaking" at that point, be it rank or kill based. You want a 1:4 ratio, not 1:36.
At best you're going to have the majority of your player base in queue waiting for matches with killers who will either be so new that there is no challenge at all in winning, or so experienced that they've got their meta locked down and you don't feel like you have a chance. Meanwhile the killer gets faster matches, but with the same level of variance, which, if they are new players, isn't super likely to make them want to keep playing, which just makes the imbalance worse. I don't know what the solution is, but let's not pretend there isn't a clear issue.
If you read the thread you'd have a better understanding of it all as the person who exposed the info went into depth about it, unfortunately I can't link it because the info comes from BHVR servers and I doubt they realistically want this info being talked about, it's easily findable on twitter though.

cringe
You literally have people here advocating for spending their entire day making survivors lobbies longer, if people on the forums weren't full of people doing cringe ######### like this i wouldn't use the word so often.
-
Did you even read the thread about the numbers, at all?
The person that released the numbers said they can actually be indicative of a good thing because that's only who is in Queue, as soon as a match starts they're removed from those numbers, so if there's like 50K people in a region and only 5K players left in the queue pool you still have 45 thousand people in match.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the 0.000001cent they earned from adsense while playing in a match against you.

It was announced back in september - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYzOBfdLOVg

Mind sharing some of your magic with me? I am running a 3080 with a Ryzen 5900X and this game drops to 48 FPS every few seconds and getting a consistently good frame rate is impossible.
Something I found out recently, if you have a "gaming" mouse that has a poll rating (the amount of times it communicates with your PC per second) if you have it too high it can severely tank the FPS, try finding that setting on your mouse if it's a gamery one.
And don't get confused, I do NOT mean the DPI setting.

Boring is just the go-to when someone wants to nerf something, but can't actually come up with a valid reason to nerf it.
I feel this is a stretch, I find many killers boring in dead by daylight but there isn't a single one I'd nerf, I would however nerf something like alchemists ring because while I find playing vs Blight incredibly fun, I find that add-on is something that makes him pretty unfun /boring to vs to Vs.
i find the twins incredibly boring to Vs, however It's pretty obvious they need some pretty substantial mechanical buffs / changes.

Why is deliberately trying to provoke a seizure or mess with photosensitive players any sort of valid strategy?
Oh, are killers moving onto the "Survivors are deliberately trying to kill people irl" as for the reason survivors flashlight click? lmao
It's on the person with epilepsy to avoid things that can cause seizures, should the game have a warning? Absolutely, are you going to guilt trip me into not using fire crackers and flashlights because people are playing something their doctor would likely recommend against playing? Not at all.
-
I feel like this has been a myth for a long time, while a few years ago, more like 3 / 4 years ago it was just a rotation of like, spirit / nurse / billy, I feel it's not even close to that anymore
-
Why do people care so much about animations in a video game? I'll personally never know.
I do find it funny how a lot of people want to comment on how t-bagging and flashlight clicking will "upset the killer" and make them have a "bad game" but focusing one survivor out of the match for half the game is perfectly fine and that it doesn't matter if that survivor has fun or not.
-

-
Are we really having another thread about "BHVR nerfed this because it was overused", we've had this discussion ad-nauseum and it has been clarified multiple times that it was only ONE of MANY reasons why it was reworked.
-
This is a hard conversation to have, for a while (on this forum at least) there were several posts about looping and how un-fun it is, some people also likened it to being an 'exploit' as the developers had never intended you to run around objects, but now we have the issue of killers wanting people to loop (and for good reason because pre-dropping is super boring from a gameplay standpoint and mind-game standpoint) and not drop pallets early.
-
There isn't really anything you can do about it without severely limiting killers in some way, if people WANT to play like that, they should be able too, and even if there were things in place (Take BT as a very mild example) people will still do it. Some player throw matches entirely to focus one person through BT, DS etc, it's just how they want to play.
