If you have to exploit the chase mechanics to make sure survivors get downed in 40s (or 50% progress) then something is horribly wrong with Legion. This.
Dive over a pallet and dash for a hit....walk backwards to let them bleed out a bit....sounds like great design right there. it actually does. you don't have to walk backward, just look away, or let them run off, and break line of sight themselves. I choose to take a couple steps backwards, but it doesn't really help the process. Also, if the survivor doesn't run away, it counters the whole process, and you,as the killer, need to find a way to deal with it. I like it, it has counter play, and is using the chase mechanic in the game. Learn to adapt. Cote, is that you? But seriously if that's what you find fun, more power to you. It doesn't suit me though. Getting an easy hit and then cheesing the mechanics to make them blees out.
I prefer the "earn 2 hits" gameplay. That's absolutely fine :) Everyone likes different things. I happen to be a Hag main. So the 110 movement speed is just another tuesday for me. I don't think it's really cheesing though. that's the only thing that bothers me this, is how people think it's somehow abusing a game mechanic. It's no different then turning backwards at a jungle gym so the survivor doesn't see your red stain coming, ot using your red stain to bluff a bad window vault. Those are both techniques the community views as "high skill" why is it an exploit to let the survivor run away and break chase?
Probably because it's easy to get a frenzy hit with legion. Then just stalking them down while they need to mend....I dunno feels nasty man.
It is nasty. But less nasty then one hitting with a chainsaw. Also, there's a lot more counter play. especially when you get SWF in the mix.
NOTHING more annoying then someone timing there bleedout to land next to someone that picks them right up.
So lets go over this again, I might try it out later.
I hit them with frenzy, look away to get the timer ticking, then resume looking for them?
Won't that just pause the timer? Or do you let it bleed down a bit then frenzy hit them to deplenish it 100%? I know truetalent does this but he's using the purple add-on which I don't have.
Do I chase them at a distance to keep the timer ticking? And do I need stridor and bloodhoud to locate them again?
You you look away, and watch the meter, the moment it starts ticking down, you start following the bloodtrail. You don't need any of the purps, if you do it this way, it's 3 hit every time. The purps make it so you do not have to let them escape.
Try taking bloodhound. It makes tracking super easy. Also since most people wont heal, you can follow blood trails at gens when they try to stealth you. (since the blood trails last a good bit longer)
edited to add: You do need to understand how close you can get to them before the chase picks back up, but generally speaking, by the time you catch up, they have bled enough for it to be a 3 hit.

I like him/her too. Some parts needs some work, but it is different. I havent been completely trashed, and have done a few 4k. I was scared since I am rank 1 that it would be a nightmare, but I've had good fun all day trying out perk builds.Good thing we all think different, we cant all like the same thing. My spirit gets some well needed off time

I was also scared to use him at rank 1, due to all the hate. I'de be interested in hearing what perk builds you find useful.
Everyone knows bloodhound and stridor. But I've been having a ton of success with huntress' lullaby
I used this tactic. Kind of worked yeah. Felt a little nasty though lol they had no escape. They either stopped to mend and went down, or they ran away and went down.
I can't imagine it's too fun from the survivor side.
Is getting chainsawed fun?
Is a one hit hatchet fun? How about when it's from a hilltop on the other side of the map?
There's counterplay to it so it's not as dirty as some things. And I think it's pretty fun.

Please explain the counterplay to cheesing chase mechanics. Please.

His design actually encourages genrushing because healing against him is worthless.MhhBurgers said:Add on top of that that he gets genrushed more than ANY other killer, I've had games that lasted maybe 5 minutes due to not having Ruin, I had games with Lullaby that I could drag out to 20+ minutes tho.

" a bunch of stuff that was wrong"You are straight up using him wrong.
Oh I love this part. Please enlighten me on the correct way to use Legion.
It's easy. Go to where survivors are, freny, hit them, when you are on the last person, hit him twice, stun out of frenzy.
then, you let them leave. Count to 3, the chase ends, they bleed out FAST, you follow the blood, try not to start chase to soon, pop frenzy, get hook
Or they run to a pallet and start mending and laugh at you while you can't do anything. I mean sure, you can just sit there and wait for your power to come back, but that only further supports my "least fun killer in the game" debate. You get an unavoidable hit, sit there, and get another unavoidable hit. That is just awful design, I don't care how effective or ineffective it is.
Your power comes back fast, you only need 1-2 seconds to smack them and down them. If they are by a pallet it's a free down.
I'll record a video tonight and post it for you.
How is it a free down if they're at a pallet? They see you coming, they run, initiating chase again. You then have to use your power to hope to catch back up, which means you get another non lethal hit and now they're at around 1/3rd bleedout, and now you have to wait again. You will eventually down someone with Legion with no counterplay, but it takes far too long to be efficient and even if it didn't take long its still awful game design because there's no counterplay whatsoever.
Now that my game isn't loading, I will slow down and explain it a little better.
Let's say I'm patrolling generators, and come across 3 people doing one. I pop frenzy, hit the first guy, the second guy then the third guy. I then stay on that third guy and hit him again, cutting his meter down .
Then I will turn around, while STILL STUNNEd, and look the OPPOSITE DIRECTION of the third person I hit, and count to three. On the count of 3, the chase breaks, causing him to bleed out fast.
I then follow the blood trail back to the third survivor I hit. While I do this, the other 2 are NOT DOING GENS, because they had to mend. Sure they hop back onto the gen after mending, but that 15-20 seconds means A LOT. (that's counting time to walk back to the gen)
Once I get close to the third guy, I pop freny and down them.
NOW, good survivors will sometimes run right to a pallet, and start to mend, if they are your target.
That's fine, You walk around the pallet and smack them, or they hop the pallet, letting you pop frenzy, and knock there meter down to "you better start mending in a few seconds" They run, you do what I said before, count to 3, then follow the blood.
If you come across 3 people doing one generator as Legion they've already massively screwed up and it wasn't a single thing you did as a killer.
Your "strat" against "good survivors" is pretty much the exact thing I said. Hit them, wait, hit them, wait, hit them, down. Which is terrible.

So I can understand why'd they screw up a killer once. With that said, I 100% agree with you on this post. Exactly why I always knew they couldn't buff him in any considerable way. Your post perfectly summarizes what's wrong with The Legion and why he can't be fixed. Guess we have to just move on and hope for a better killer design next time. The only way to make Legion viable without making survivors quit the game is to rework him. He needs a rework more urgently than Freddy, sadly. No, we do not, because so many of us in the community have been providing tons of valuable feedback, both before, during and after the PTBs, but instead of taking what we say seriously, they take it with "a grain of salt" and put their own twist on it. Quite many, including me said several times that the legion really needs a rework and should not be released as is. When we voice our concerns, like for instance during a Q&A we all know what Cote will say, we should all go play some civilization for a refreshing change, because that is exactly how seriously he takes our concerns - like not at all. Who's the same one who thinks the killers should be fun and don't need to be viable. So once they actually begin to take our concerns serously, then we can begin to cut them some slack. As I've said before, they should not release content that is not balanced or not ready to be released, because it wrecks all kinds of havoc in doing so. You say they did well with so many killers before, well that certainly depends on perspective, and instead of actually fixing the issues they apply bandaid solutions. There are also many in the community who dont have their panties in a twist over legion, as they are a viable killer.
They're not no. 1 killer, but they're not as trash as everyone wants them to be.
Yes there are some who for very odd reasons fervorously keep defending the legion, claiming that the legion is strong and viable, when it's glaringly obvious that the legion is now by far DbDs current weakest killer, and that legion is non-viable due to being the current weakest killer. I get you want the legion to viable and better, but legion is just not there yet, far from it. And I don't want the legion to be trash, but unfortunately that doesn't change anything.
Besides, people also being fed up with BHVR not taking our concerns, feedback and suggestion on how to fix seriously, that they're only taking it with "a grain of salt" and putting their own twist on things. And that is quite understandable, because this is something that keeps happening recurringly.
Go watch tru3 play some legion. One person at least tried and shows legion is viable. Just need synergy.
I did play legion in the PTB, and I did also see some off Tru3's videos about legion where for most of the times he was using very rare addons, which doesn't say anything about if the killers balanced or not, and believe or not, those addons are likely going to be nerfed, it says nothing about the legion being viable or being balanced for that matter. There a lot of things that the legion needs to be viable, and they're most likely have to rework it's power.
Tru3 stated Legion might be the worst killer.
I wouldn't bother. These people's criteria of "this killer is good is" "this person did well with this killer sometimes."

The mending action needs to take like 16 seconds and double if you've already been wounded by him, this still wouldn't change the fact that he's fundamentally broken, while nurse is not hard to master you still don't see her every game because she's stressful to play, legion is a walk in the park and would break the game. That wouldn't even fix the "no fun" thing. In fact, he'd be even more boring for survivors.

While I'll concede that Legion would be at least decent with normal killer movement speed, it still doesn't address the fact he is the least fun killer in the game for both sides. I originally thought just giving him normal movespeed would at least bandaid him but he's actually completely fundamentally broken. Let's look at the ways to play him and why they are all terrible for both killer and survivor. Basically the gameplay flow is: find survivor -> feral when close enough -> get free hit -> look around for nearby survivors. If none nearby, hit original target again to bleed out more. If there are survivors in range, tag them until you can't tag anyone else, then hit the closest survivor again to drain frenzy. From there, you have a few options. The first is go look for someone who is mending, and just chase them as a no-power 110% movespeed killer. As long as the survivors have a brain and used their 20 seconds of bleedout to get to even a remotely safe area, this is painful and unfun for the killer. You can also just repeatedly hit the survivor, waiting for your power to cooldown (which can be aided by addons). This guarantees you will eventually down the survivor because there's not much you can do to avoid a feral Legion. This is painful and unfun for the survivor. The other option is to follow a survivor backwards and just cheese the chase mechanics of the game until they either bleed out or get to low enough bleedout to be hit by an unavoidable frenzy hit. This is painful and unfun for the survivor and the killer. Hell, even people that still like hiding / playing stealthily can't do that. That's it. Those are the options Legion has to down people. All of them are immensely boring, and not even 115% movespeed will fix these issues. He is fundamentally badly designed for maximum unfun. The developers in charge of Legion absolutely do not understand this, as they thought removing the double stun would be a good fix, when in reality all it does is promote the unavoidable eventual downing of a survivor with no counterplay earlier. The sad part is even though he can guarantee downs on survivors, he's still awful. It takes a decent chunk of time without addons to either cheese chase mechanic down or just repeat-power use down. This ensures: the survivor being chased eventually has no counterplay, which feels terrible. It ensures the Legion will still lose vs. a coordinated team who spread out and do not waste time healing (because there is no point), and it ensures that the other teammates not actively being chased are either bored mending or bored doing generators. Every single thing about Legion is bad.
I enjoy the legion. They're fun to play as and against imo. Such hate lately. If its not your killer so be it. Dont try to ######### in my sandwich
Can you find faults in any of my arguments, though?
Yes? For one you say it's not fun for anyone, which is false.
Are we defining them by viable? Or fun? Because you try to argue both.
You can tag one, two, three people and then chase. Use frenzy to catch and mind game. Make them waste pallets. Any number of things to apply SPLIT PRESSURE and buy time, which as you claim is an issue with his power. Time to down ratio.
So while I could spend 20 mins and write out multiple scenarios countering what you said, it's a waste of time. Go watch tru3 or anyone else who isnt just ######### talking legion play them. Theres many options and builds. It's just not the top tier killer or exactly what the community asked for so everyone jumps on the "legion is trash" train.
You can tag three people if the opposing team is braindead and doesn't know how Legion works. Any remote splitting up and you are even more useless than you currently are as Legion. You barely buy any pressure because the second you tag someone and run to the next person, the first person is immediately mending. You don't even gain time advantage because you spend time going for the next guy.

That is ridiculous. If mend ticked down fully while mending you'd be buggered. You'd have what, 20 seconds in which to get away from the killer and fully heal? and it takes 15 seconds to mend. So you'd have 5 seconds in which to run away and find a place to mend fully.
Sounds like a well-thought out mechanic all around, sir/madam!

Have an awesome

I'm not going to disagree with that.
A killer who can sprint at 120% speed and vault pallets.....yeah that's going to be an easy one to balance.
See I still don't get that. Who cares that he can vault pallets? All he can do is just hit you and drain all his power while you lose a small chunk of a timer that doesn't even go down while he's chasing you. Its not like you can vault the pallet, cancel the power, and still hit the person - they're long gone on the other side at that point.

When did I say that? I just simple said that ur point isn't valid, no matter what I tried to show before. The clips were just examples, ofc I'm not going to spend the rest of my day and link every single video just to show it to you lolThen you must agree your point is just as invalid, which means there's absolutely no proof people play like that in EU.

Imo its a crutch, just like DS, Noed and Sprintburst.Plenty of people in this thread, I don't know why you're singling me out.
Because you respond to everyone and tell them they're wrong for the reasons you mentioned. But your reasons are not true, they're your opinion. Selfcare and Nurses calling are strong, but balanced perks. Believe in the truth of the mob. Arguments differ, especially extremes like your killerbiased ones. The truth is often the middle ground. Lots of people complain about DS, Noed, Ruin, so its probably true that they're crutches.
Note how I said "on release", and explained why. And yeah, I'm so "killerbiased" that I was the first person to suggest a nerf to A Nurse's Calling, which resulted in what you now call the balanced version.
You seem really really proud that you were WORLD FIRST to suggest that A Nurse's Calling needed a nerf. Not giving you ######### I just found that funny I'm sorry

I'm curious, do you think anything in the game is overpowered on either side?On the Killer side there used to be some overpowered perks for which I supported nerfs, such as A Nurse's Calling. I can't speak of add-ons because I rarely use them.
On the Survivor side, I'd say Self-Care and Decisive Strike.
Infinite, self-sustaining heals are not good for the game's balance when getting hit has no long-term consequences. You can get hit as many times as you want, but it won't make any difference in the long run.
Decisive Strike is too easy to use and essentially punishes the Killer for catching a Survivor. It's also a force multiplier (almost useless on bad Survivors, but overwhelmingly powerful on good ones).Just seems kind of hypocritical when you said:

Broken means it's overwhelmingly powerful and nearly impossible to beat. Hex perks don't fall under that category because they can literally be destroyed.Yet you call a perk like A Nurse's Calling overpowered which means you think its "nearly impossible" to just...not heal in a terror radius. You think Self-Care is overpowered, ignoring the literal half-a-generator it takes to self-care yourself. You think Decisive Strike is overpowered, ignoring how much Enduring weakens it, or how they can just be slugged, or how they can be dribbled, etc.
A Nurse's Calling, back when it was released, had a trigger radius that was identical to the terror radius. That meant that Killers could leave an area, wait for the Survivor to start healing, come back, and get an aura reading, even though the Survivor did everything right by waiting until they were out of the TR to start healing.
I suggested a nerf to this perk (as far as I know, I was the first person to suggest it) because it seemed unfair that a Survivor could do everything right and still get shafted by a perk they'd just countered.I think Self-Care and Decisive Strike are overpowered for the reasons I laid out. Regardless of the time or soft counters, they are fundamentally broken or otherwise take advantage of what I believe to be broken aspects of the game.
Then you could make the same argument that "Ruin stops survivors from taking advantage of gen rushing." I don't even think Ruin is overpowered, I'm just showing your argument isn't very strong.
I do believe if you use Ruin on Nurse or Billy, it doesn't mean anything. If you NEED it to win with those two, then you're probably just bad at those two, which is fine.

its not broken but every coolio killer is using it, same as bbq ( the most broken, it doesnt giv you an opportunity), like, come on dude.BBQ can be countered by hiding behind generators, will be counterable soon by hiding in lockers, and you can also counter it by being within the radius where it doesn't work.
Stuff doesn't have to be broken to be used a lot. Go break the totem, see if Ruin helps in any way afterward.if something is used a lot with huge difference with other perks it means that its effective, hugely more effective.
Which isn't the same thing as being broken. Sometimes, the other tools are just worthless garbage. Look at Monstrous Shrine, for example. Look at Unrelenting before it was buffed.
whats being broken then? its always comparative. you call broken to almost a hack i bet

You're also ignoring the opportunity cost of people actually looking for the totem, which is massive. Occasionally you'll get bad luck with people spawning right on it.Orion said:@fedup said:
thats if you hit people. ruin breaks the whole early game, when more gens are done, if killer hangs someone it starts the part of the match that leads to his victory, with bbq as a way to connect hangs (then they auto glory in the fact that they dont camp, why you gonna camp with bbq)Ruin has counters and can be permanently destroyed.

Most Hex perks are gone within the first minute, if that. During that time, generators are still being repaired.
I did neglect to take into account the dead generator time, my apologies.
I don't know what kind of teams you get, but the Survivors I get do use Self Care at any opportunity, even with Sloppy Butcher. -

PS: Three skill checks would give you an additional 12 seconds of generator repair time, assuming they occur sequentially and not simultaneously on different generators. By comparison, Sloppy Butcher gives you 8 seconds on a single heal with Self Care.

The open wound effect is completely useless because survivors don't bleed in chase and mending stops the bleeding. The double stun of feral rush is way too long. Make mending a co-op action or make the bleeding keep on going in chase and self mending so it actually makes the killer strong instead of just making chases way WAY longer than they should be. Also remove the double stun when hitting injured survivors it's ridiculously long.
I think that removing the double stun would put the killer in a good spot where they aren’t too hillbilly tier, but more like huntress or clown tier
Wouldn't even be remotely close to those two.

Point number 1 on the good things actually gave me an idea. Can you use feral frenzy for the first hit, keep running to catch up, and then cancel it as soon as you're close and hit them with a normal m1? I haven't personally tried him but if this is possible then that would kinda make him a 120% speed killer. No, when you stop your power you get stunned for several seconds.
-
Nowhere in any of the points defending The Legion does anyone actually say how to down people.
-
The problem isn't playing him wrong, its that playing him the way he was intended to be played is awful. Its very obvious from his ability synergy the point is to frenzy, tag multiple nearby survivors, and then finish off one while the rest mend. In practice, the "finish off one" part takes so monumentally long that he might as well not even be able to put people into a BT state to begin wtih because he's so slow.
-
Ironically this killer is weak to people simply not healing and rushing gens. There's pretty much no reason to be healthy against him, so healing isn't important, which leaves only generators left.

Keep her at 110% when she is armed with hatchets, but increase it to 115% when she's all out.
tha's actually pretty good idea! when she losses all her hatches, she should be able to be at 115%. In a way, she's really a powerless killer without hatches, buffing her while being without hatches, definitely will help on "those" chases that you BARELY miss a hatchet and still be able to be scary as any other killer.
In essence, she's 110% with hatches, 115% without hatches just because she lost the wieght of the hatches lol I think it's a good compromise but bad solution. The Huntress should keep the weakness of needing to reload because it rewards survivors for juking and then being stealthy. After I juke 4-5 hatchets, my next reaction shouldn't be "ok now she has 115 MS and she'll BL-M1 me to death". It's counterproductive. If anything, more killers need to be like Huntress (skill-based and rewarding for both sides) and not the other way around.
Did you see what I said about how I think it’ll only slightly increase her killrate if she gets 115% speed I care less about the killrate and more about the design of the game. And as it is now, survivors already die more than 1/2 the time at every rank and they're still buffing killers across the board.
This is supposed to be an asymmetrical game. Killers are designed to be strong. Now how strong is subjective, but I don’t approve of the strength regarding certain killers in this game. I’m fine with huntress as of right now but I would LOVE if she got 115% speed. It would make my experience more fun and like I said, she wouldn’t be OP
*rides survivor at 115% movement speed, mashing M2 with 6 hatchets, as M1 is now obsolete.
Not OP at all.
If you can loop, you’ll be fine
I am sorry, but this is completely ignorant on so many levels

-
@iTz_KilLaZ_x said:
If BHVR wasn’t so scared to try things, maybe we could see if huntress would be too strong with 115% movement speed. I would bet money that her kill rate would only slightly go up during testing.Of course it would go up, but the argument is that it doesn't need to go up because she's already good.

lol @the guys that said "the depip squad is only 0.1% of the playerbase!". Scott is even less than that and yet he struggled against them.Next level argumentation here but why doesn't this surprise me.
"Watch Scott, he reks them all!"
watched scott vs depip squad
"Noooo, not against the depip squad! Watch him play against some unskilled plebs! Depip squad is only 0,1% of playerbase!"
why does everyone keep saying I struggled with that game? it was hard as balls but I didn't even use her strongest stuff on a weak map for Huntress, and I just AFK'd the last guy on the hook because the entire point was to break their no-pip streak.

I know some might disagree, but in my view, huntress should have 115% movement speed. She’s a pretty good killer already, but what really hinders her is how she’s 110% movement speed. She’s only really deadly when survivors are in the open and you can land your hatchets. Yes, you can do the little trick where you get a hatchet hit in when they drop a pallet but good survivors normally won’t let that happen.I think if she had 115% speed, she wouldn’t be so prone to the usual gen rush and pallet looping. I might have a bias too since she’s my favorite killer
lol... what do you guys think? That or bring her instahatchets back, she's far too easy to bully and she needs a way to counter those loops. Like I always say, no matter how good a Huntress is, if the survivor plays it correctly, she'll get abused and looped around 1 loop (normal sized) at least 8 times before pallet drop. I've faced some great Huntress players who have a hard time and with the skill they got with her, they deserve to be rewarded.
Instahatchets do NOT need to come back. They were blatantly overpowered and stupid.
At least they made her viable.
She's still in the top-tier.
It doesn't get much more viable than that O_O;
She's mid tier for sure. Too ez to loop, if u don't mess up which u rarely do, you can get 8 loops in before dropping the pallets.
Okay you have no idea what you're talking about if you think you can legitimately loop ANY killer 8 times around anything.

I'm sorry but if the only way you could win with Huntress was with instathrow, you are just a bad Huntress and your opinion of her is obviously not accurate or supported by enough experience.
What I didn't even have her maxed back then and I didnt even play her until after her nerf.
If you didn't even play her with instathrow how do you know what the experience of using instathrow is like?

Idk how Scott, a veteran DBD player, doesn’t recognize how unbalanced this game can be when solid swf teams step in. You’re a great huntress but come on now... you should know how easy survivors still have things if they play optimallyIf a full team has like 4 toolboxes, 4 DS, 4 Unbreakable, 4 Sprint Burst, all on comms, then yes, that's overpowered.
Has that ever actually happened to you? Maybe one game ever?
I disagree dude. This patch has been the easiest it has ever been for killer. Some maps are just completely dead and there's nothing survivors can do on them anymore. There are also still some strong Survivor maps too, but the game is the easiest its ever been for killer. I don't care how much they're talking on comms, it doesn't help them not die faster in a chase.

Either give her normal movement speed or remove the lullaby. Her ranged attack doesn't justify both of these hindrances. The Clown has a very powerful raged tool, but he's not hindered in any way.The Clown''s vials don't directly damage people wit ha short cooldown. They are not comparable abilities.
It doesn't matter. The Clown doesn't get screwed by [auto-bad word]tty collisions and even [auto-bad word] map design. The Huntress does.
..it does matter when we're discussing projectiles specifically.> @MhhBurgers said:

I’m aware... im already good with her and have fun playing her. But against solid swf teams, she’s not good enough to keep up.
If you are good enough at her (and you're not on like...Lery's or Haddonfield), yes, yes she is.
You struggled against marths depip squad sooo
Bruh it was literally the sweatiest team on the planet, I didn't use Iridescent Head, or Instathrow, or Ruin, and I was on Swamp of all maps...with Huntress. Also I still won.
Obviously yeah it was hard as balls but there's pretty much 0 teams that try that hard. A normal SWF can be destroyed by a good Huntress.
gratz on beating the depip squad at that time when they ran without perks and toolboxes
You're right, the game has gotten even easier for killer since then. It should be easier now.
