  • The most broken thing would be for blight to be able to attack on first rush. There would be nothing you could do, especially combined with c33.

Every single good play I made was faltered by a perfectly timed body block, perfectly time final gen being done into adrenaline, someone dedicating themselves to being the box person so they don't do a conspicuous action and get Off the record value.

Seriously man, this is only ever possible to beat if a killer player were to play blight and nurse with their best add ons. These guys also proceed to tell me to stop crying about it that I did good, well if I did good then how come I got zero kills and 3 hooks (I got about 9 downs btw but they were worth nothing due to body blocks, adrenaline and other perks...)

Depends. Am I going against a team or player that much better than me? If so than gladly, that's 1 in 100 games. Going against players to much worse than me for even one game will make me close in 1 to 2 games max.

  • The word iri is censored. Like every killer has 2 iri add-ons.

This is an example of hyperfocus at its farthest extreme and its still only 3 seconds more than stake out which doesnt have the stipulations. Overzealous with a hex totem shave 14.4 seconds off a gen which was more than the hyperfocus did in this example. This is why I am saying hyperfocus is overhyped. Because its not the strongest gen completion perk. Prove thyself with 2 people saves a total of 14 seconds(7 seconds per) with 3 people saves 30 seconds (10 seconds per) and 4 people 48 seconds (12 seconds per). The amount that hyperfocus saves in its extremes is not an issue when you look at other gen rushing perks in theirs.

Prove doesn't save time unless you are stacking on gens and even then it's only saving the time you are losing from being on the same gen. Which is only good in a three gen scenario. Splitting is always the best and hyperfocus/stakeout is the best at getting single gens done. I will never lose to teams trying to force prove thinking it's better than splitting in general. Overzealous requires a hex totem which means it's not as efficient and people don't really run hex's anymore. What else is there? Deja vu? Resilience? Your math is irrelevant when applied to the real game.

I have around 2k hours by now and i really could not care less about winning or loosing. The game does not give me any incentive to win as survivor so i give the killer a free kill if we manage to get the doors open, at least most of the times, unless the dude camped people or sth unfun like that. Same goes for killer... I like getting chased or chase people but I'm not going to play in a boring way just to get a meaningless win/kill... Then again when playing killer I consider everything above 8 hooks a win, no matter how many kills i got... 8 hooks itself is a tie. But i don't feel like the amount of hooks or kills I get does sth. for me in a way that i would enjoy the game more or less.

In the end i consider it a worthwile game if the chases were fun or sth. else happened that made me enjoy the time... For example dodging wesker and making him vault a window always makes me smile, especially on maps were he drops down after the vault... Or getting a really good huntress crossmap hit. If you only enjoy yourself when you win at a game it might not be the right game for you... In most games i play i just enjoy the mechanics itself no matter the outcome... Because why else would I play it?

Every time I get really good survivors who know how to play vs blight I get really excited and couldn't care less about winning, though I will try my best. Then half the time they are swf who are all salty and it makes me sad and get off dbd.

  • Get on

    Play one blight game

    get pale rose

    use Macmillan or autohaven offering

    get off after.

Please show me any video of someone with just hyperfocus soling a gen in under 75 seconds hell it can be in a custom. No toolbox, No stakeout, no resilience. For them to get a gen done in under 75 second they need to hit 9 NINE great skill checks in a row. To do it in 55 seconds like youre mentioning they need to hit 16. You dont get that many skill checks on a gen even with the slight buff it give you.

Scott junds vods after the perk came out is just hours of it.

Blight and Nurse are the easiest killers to use new dead hard against though, unless you're just m1ing.

No it's like you are ignoring what I am saying in my posts.

Blight is and has always been the best killer to bait dh with if there is something nearby.

Lets say the first time I take the dh hit because I don't bait them out until I know they have it now. Next time instead of hitting you first time, I will glide my hitbox past yours which at any point I can shoulder flick which is instantaneous. But instead I just go past you, I can repeat that 2 more times if I need to. None of those time's would you know when I am going to hit or have time to react to a hit, nor would you know I would be baiting like that if I just hit you the first chase. I said this in my post a few days back as well so I don't know how you missed.

  • @Marigoria said:

How do you know they were scripting dead hard?

I mean you said the same thing in my post, without reading it I assume lol. Frame perfect everytime, not even baiting it and just holding w for 10 seconds while not looking behind themselves. Not using it vs a blight who hasn't been baiting it out, who is gliding past your hitbox and can instantly hit you and has done so twice before going for a hit. You can never know 100% but it's pretty easy to tell, especially with blight.

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

Example: I expect Boons from Mikaela, Adrenaline and Sprint Burst from Meg and Self care from Claudette.

From killers I expect (for example) that Bubba has Bamboozle, Huntress has Iron Maiden and Legion has Thanatophobia.

No, but I survivors have certain stereotypes for me. EX. Laurie's are always terrible. Ace's are always running meta.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3213852#Comment_3213852

Idk how many times I have to say it but your weapon makes a sound before you swing, when you hit m1 the sound plays when you draw your weapon back and if I'm running dead hard you can bet your bottom dollar I'm listening and I'm watching your weapon if you're that close, I'm not saying these people are impossible to bait but there are survivors who are extremely good at timing off the sound that I know, I'm not one of those people because I never ran dead hard a whole lot anyway but I've played in plenty of matches with tourney survivors who explained how they're near perfect at using it

    BRO PLEASE

    1. I am not m1ing everything I have said in this thread has had blights lethal rush in mind.

    2. You cannot react to something Instaneous, especially by sound.

So what your saying might apply to an m1 but not what I have been talking about this entire time.

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3213789#Comment_3213789

They do when there's a sound cue to audibly say "hey I'm swinging" that's pretty much what that is and if I set my sound a certain way and have good headphones it's more noticeable, I'm not saying everyone does it but I know for a fact alot of good survivors use the audio cues to know for a fact when you're swinging so they can dead hard it's all about being patient but having quick enough reflexes, auto dead hard does exist but there are survivors good enough to consistently time it right for the most part, just because you say there's no way on a 1 in 3 I disagree because sound cues are everything in this game and knowing them is what makes a good survivor, even flashlight saving out of a locker has a sound cue you can listen for to have the exact timing down it's immediately after the locker doors squeal while shutting you click and easy save.

Do you know what a shoulder flick is? It's when blights hitbox is touching you he can swing and get the hit instantly. So if I glide off your hitbox several times and any of those times I could have instantly hit you, you are telling me they could react to that? You could make an argument they guessed right. But blights have started baiting dh less including myself until I know you have it. And with that a lot of the survivors have stopped mind gaming their dh and expecting a blight to bait. I have seen really good survivors who actually manage to time it right after 2 baits, i knew it was real because the animation played before my swing started. I'm not saying that if it's timed so perfectly I can't see their dh animation play they are using auto dh.

If someone is good at the game = they are cheating.

    That's how your thread reads.

I know when people are good at the game It's just impossible to not get baited out vs blight in that scenario. Not sure how my post read like that at all. If you had a blight who didn't bait the first time and then baited you out 2 more times while rushing you would not hold it. I know that.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R77BDALCAUVC/image.png

I'd like to see you no get baited out vs a blight rushing at you several time's who get hit you at any time without any idea he was going to bait in the first place. Geez.

  • @The_Krapper said:

I don't think there are as many as you believe, a lot of competent survivors look behind them while in chase and if they see your weapon draw up and hear the sound the wind up makes they can just DH because they know for a fact it's a swing especially with good headphones or sound settings that wind up makes a small sound before the swing , the survivors you get that try to fov DH you mid chase aren't really good and it's easy to bait but a good survivor can seem like they have it because they have the reflexes and the ability to see you while being chased unlike a survivor who never looks back and waits for the stain to appear, they know the difference between someone baiting and someone actually making a swing and audio cues also help with that

I don't think you read my post. I know there are survivor's who are very good at baiting it and even know I will bait with one rush as blight. But I don't think you read my post, no survivor wins a 1 in 3 with no idea I was going to bait the first lethal rush in the first place.

  • Crazy to see them go down seconds later. Old DH is gone let it go.

If there was a real game - most people wouldn't suicide. I don't come across this problem much when I play killer - but then I don't play like a dick either.

Again, passive aggressively assuming I tunnel or camp ever. Even if it's not directed towards me It doesn't matter. Most of the problematic suicides are on stage one. Generally one of the first 2 survivors after they get downed. They simply don't want to play vs someone better than them and go next. But going next like that without penalty shouldn't exist.

Ok and what is your complaint then? That you're winning too many matches due to suicides, or are you trying to force matches being longer because killer queue times aren't so fast any more?

Maybe he wants a real game??? Killer's want survivor's to not dc because it ruins our game as much as the other survivors playing. Always gotta make it an us vs them bit.

    Solo Q needs buffs.

No that's not what happened. Survivor's used to get queued against worse killer's because of them being filled into their lobby's. Now that the ratios is changed it's the opposite. We could have matchmaking be "tighter" were It doesn't just hit 3 min and start filling in who ever is available.

In her case it was her fault, she could have hooked them so many times but she didnt, she went for slugs even when fully aware they all have Unbreakable, she made horrible decissions and they just kept getting up over and over.

    • 0:20 she should have picked Feng plus you can see Claudette running towards the locker, she switches back to Charlotte and can snag someone out of the locker.
    • 2:10 she should have picked Feng she could use the corner to avoid the flashlight.
    • 2:20 she should have picked Feng after downing Claudette but she went for Jane who didnt have a flashlight, smart move would be pick up Feng, hook in front of the Saloon and then go back to either go after Claudette or Jane after unhook.
    • 2:30 again not picking anyone.
    • 3:40 same train of actions, downing several people but deciding to not pick anyone, Jane didnt bring a flashlight so its safe to pick up with her around.
    • 3:55 again switching to Victor instead of going to pickup someone.
    • 4:05 same playstyle, downs someone sees someone else on the distance and goes for them instead of picking up people already downed.

And thats in the first 4 minutes of video, are you telling us this wasnt the Killers fault?.

No, he's saying that sometimes all survivors will play one side of the map and die there. Leaving it a complete dead zone outside of your control. He then asked you why the killer should get 0 value out of a down for that happening. I didn't watch the video I am just telling you, forced slugging via survivors is going to be an issue even if the perk UB gets deleted.

Only way it will happen Is with massive skill gaps. Though it does look fun on ptb, just infinite chase. And yeah 3rd best slugger is oni for sure.

I had a match I got tunneled for being a double digit prestige(killer told that’s why he tunneled) and I got max chase very early and ran him for a bit longer after that. Zero gens went. I got pallet saved and ran him again for a bit. Zero gens again.

I, then, got one hooked to death as he camped which no one tried to save… and 1 gen was completed that they tripled and then contemplated saving before the entity took me.

I observed after and apparently all 3 of my teammates were more interested in going for saves than doing gens which the killer read correctly the killer 4k’d with 4 gens left to do.

as unfun as being slugged on the ground or tunneled can be. This is the worst feeling when you know the killer overcommitted and should have been punished for it but you’re teammates aren’t doing anything.

Played only killer forever, but have been duoing with my good survivor friend for a few months quite often. The problem with solo is teammates just messing around instead of actually trying to win. I see it from both pov's.

  • @prion11 said:

I have been having a great time playing survivor (solo to 2-3 swf) these days. It feels like a larger variety of perks is in play on both sides, save the outliers like pain resonance and eruption. After the perk rework and RE-2 chapter, I have lots of options to combat camping and tunneling. I can run deliverance + off the record or DS to stop myself from getting tunneled. Reassurance to help my teammates resist camping, tenacity is better than ever so I can run flip flop/power struggle with it to counter slugging. Boons are in a balanced spot and dead hard takes skill to use. It really feels like you get more value out of a swf now when each teammate plays a different build, focused on being "the healer" or "the sabo guy" or "the please chase me", etc. sure, bad games still happen. but we are biased to remember the bad over the good. anyone else having a good time?

I never liked survivor until 6.1.0. I think it was because I quit the game due to seeing the same bot survivors with the same perks everygame. Now I enjoy playing both sides a lot. Though killer is a lot more stressful to play

    20220929021344_1.jpg

I play more survivor than killer at this point, these are the average builds I go against although I usually play around 12:00AM-3:00AM NA. Must be getting ready for that unbreakable update.

Out of the 100 and something games of survivor I have played I have been hard tunneled once and it lasted for 4 gens.

People complain about Blight "alot" and rightfully so! He's top 2 killer in the game and very common to go against. For these reasons although he "can" be fun to go against Blight is your typical "top tier" so not alot of positive things will be said about him.

Depends a lot of time I am running shadowborne, bbq and lethal only with random sets of add-ons. 90%(at least) don't really know how to play vs blight so they hate him. Half the player base will still attempt w vs him. But with out the 3 busted add-ons he has there is lots of room for counterplay. Most people don't even know what a wiggle is. Plus unless my queue times are long then I get people sweating, they know what they are getting into.

  • Welp I play 100% blight when im not duoing survivor. I play for chases and Usually take no slow down or only pain res. I'll slug in end game against really altruistic swfs but everything else is on the survivor. If you have a chance for a good chase then there should be nothing to complain about, right?

The only time It upsets me is when I go against a good team and they get salty. Every comp team I have gone against has proceeded to ruin my mood with all of them spamming salt about any little thing. Sorry you had to try I guess?

  • @Gandor said:

Midwitch always had bad hook spawns and nothing changed here. But the map was and still is heavily killer sided so lack of hooks is good.

The game on the other hand... I play saboteur and the only possibility to get successful sabo play in this map are scourge hooks + perfect play (and killers ignoring closest hooks), or endgame some survivor falling down in gate area (and even this is not guaranteed).

In all the other cases killers never have problem with the map in my experience (but I see tendency of many killers to stay on same floor even when it makes very little sense - it might be your problem too). It's much easier to get good sabo play on eerie, any red forest or any farm map (all having regular hook spawns) then on the game

I'm pretty sure cold wind got the reverse treatment of midwich. It's impossible to walk two feet without another hook being there. Even against sabo squads there is always another close by.

People who is complaining about Nurse & Blight and people who is complaining about SWFs can keep whine. But they should keep this in their mind, that's your reward for being tryharder.

Haha. Every single time I go against a comp team, which to be fair is rare. No matter how well I do all I get is salt even though they running the sweatiest builds possible and I'm running bbq, shadowborne and ring/crow. Just makes me sad because I like going against good teams.

I said WHEN THOSE RNG THINGS ARE IN PLACE...things LIKE a BNP have 0 effect on a match. Here I'll list them:

    • Small maps with no notable worthy pallet as resources.
    • Killer is a comp Nurse/Blight with strongest add ons.
    • Killer has complete blown out gen regression load out. (Including those that could easily UNDO what you just contributed to with a BNP)
    • Killer Camps/Tunnels every single hook.

You really think your BNP is going to compete with all that? I'd like to see it.

So you seem to be comparing killer to survivor so you should be saying "Is 4 BNPs equal to Blank". Can 4 BNP's with good perks beat a good blight? All but the top few % yes. People really give survivor too little credit. Comp means nothing. Especially on survivor side, just means you pre throw and hold w/ work efficiently on gens. In fact I went against a full meta comp team today and only one of them was a good looper but even then he still held w and pre threw. Plus infinite salt in the end game chat. BNP will always have an affect no matter how small you think 25% of gen in what 10s is.

  • @Vampwire said:

I've seen people freaking out about this, but as an experienced killer main I can promise you this change isn't going to lead to a free win for survivors. You will have to play differently, that is true. But 45 seconds is a LOT of down-time and most of the time you aren't going to want to slug for that long.

This has only killed long term slugging for things such as a 4k. It only really removes the ability to drag the match out for longer than it has to be. Plus, mori's will actually be a base kit feature which is nice. I think a lot of people overlook the amount of pressure this puts on the survivors as well. If you aren't careful the match can end in literal seconds.

But you're also rarely going to be able to get a 4 man slug. Even with Oni. You probably can with Nurse but lets be real, it's Nurse.

If anything this punishes greed on BOTH sides. If the killer tries to go for the insta 4k, but ends up taking too long with the last survivor. Or the survivors get too greedy for lets say a gen, it has an impact. And I think this is good. It means you actually take a risk when slugging in certain scenarios that would be safe at the moment.

If anything, I don't think Unbreakable should allow you to pick yourself up in 22 seconds with unlimited use. Because slugging does have its purposes. Maybe it has diminishing returns with every pick up? Anyways, the main counter for this is going to be not to slug a bunch and be smart about when you do.

If you do slug to get another down, hurry up back to the first guy if you can and hook him. That's what you should be doing right now anyways. Slugging has always been a way to juggle survivors and really this update doesn't change that fundamental. It only allows survivors to put pressure on the killer to make a move.

You can say that currently the pressure survivors have in this situation is letting a team mate pick up the survivor, robbing the killer of a hook. But as I said 45 seconds of someone doing absolutely nothing is a huge time loss. They could leave the slug there to finish a gen, but then the killer can go to that gen and potentially down that person as well. Leading to another slug or hook, and now we're back where we started.

"But what if they have an anti-slug build?"

That's easy. Don't slug them. Now they have no perks. There isn't always a tell for this, and I think that is something that should be fixed eventually. But there are ways to tell if they do by their behavior. Like if they're a little too eager to take a punch to the face while injured, they probably have unbreakable and expect you to leave them on the ground. Survivors will constantly give away what perks they have, you just have to pay attention to the signs of said perk.

These updates are encouraging killers to be more aggressive and constantly on the move. That is good. It leads to actual gameplay instead of "me stand in front of hook and now u die :)". It means people are actually playing and interacting with each other. We need more of this. So even if this update seems uncertain and odd for the future, I'm ready for it.

I don't multi slug unless I am against a swf in end game. At that point I am doing everything I can to bait their altruism. Went against a 4 man comp team with 4 unbreakable's today. Got a 3 man slug, but it didn't matter. Even though only two were moderately good in chase, I still got tons of salt. Comp teams really can't fathom losing.

I hate to say it, but I dont think solo q buffs are coming anytime soon since they said the solo q icons were put in the back burner.

While I do agree that solo needs info buffs. When I play killer and survivor, the biggest detriment is always bad players. Especially if I queue up late at night as killer, depending on the night I will either get matched 100% with people I'm supposed to or get filled player's that just make me feel bad and stop playing after a game or two. It's kinda the reverse scenario for killer pre 6.1.0. Higher ratio of killer players means more bad survivors going against good players, just as bad killer's would go against good swfs before.

I didn't. I responded coherently and to the subject at hand.

There is always going to be the RNG aspect that will heavily apply to EVERY single match. Because it isn't just gen times, it's also MAPS, it's also Killers with mobility Etc etc . There are things within the game that have literally zero effect on a match (like BNPs) that when those things take place do VERY little.

I may have misunderstood what you said. Did you just say BNP's have zero effect on a match? True and eruption really doesn't do much either.

I'm just glad they removed his camera from his belt buckle and properly put it around where his face is.

I'm glad I did not play grimlin blight

Ub base kit is fine because of the fact that if all four are slugged or hooked/dead at once you auto win the game now with the finisher Mori, so how troll squads would take you to RPD and make you bleed them out in the Library can never happen again because they would auto die as soon as the last person standing gets slugged and I mean you get 45 secs to decide whether a full slug is worth it or you can just hook the survivor then slug if they're nearby , either way if they're all downed they die there's no more crawling to a dead hook zone while slugged and wiggling out everytime

There are 3 killers in the game that can viably 4 man slug. And even then it's extremely tough.

I wish i could just have shadownborn base kit

At least half of all blights are forced to run three perks. They wouldn't want blight to be running four perks, come on now.
