It's still good, but not completely game-defining the way it was previously. Pop Goes the Weasel is the better perk, but Ruin is still not bad.

I'm sitting on a million bloodpoints and I would really like to level up Freddy because I think he's fun to play. That being said, I really want the perk nurses calling but I don't like playing as the nurse. I know nurses calling is a great perk for any killer to have, so is it worth dumping all these blood points to get that teachable perk, or should I just focus on Freddy?
I don't have a whole lot of free time to play this game which is why I'm at a bit of a crossroads here.
The eternal question that is at the heart of this game's biggest problems.

A significant amount more people follow football than any other sport. And Messi is the biggest name among them.
I'd expect even people who aren't fans to know about him. He's a bigger name than Trump.
Some people just don't follow sports and aren't gonna know him. I know I have heard the name before, but I could not tell you what he looks like, who he plays for, or a single other thing about him. I could perhaps make all of these same arguments about Roger Federer or Naomi Osaka, but if you don't follow tennis, maybe you don't have any clue who they are.
I cannot name one single American football player. Tom Brady? Does he still play? I don't know any of them. And basketball. There's the guy with the beard? He was in a commercial once.
EDIT: Also, bear in mind that a lot of people on this forum are from the USA, which is not a hotbed of soccer fans, unlike the rest of the world.

I'll tell you what's scary. Infinite tier 1 Shape, that's what's scary. Been playing this game since Nov. 2018 and he still makes me jump.

They have not provided any information yet.

Alright thanks so much. I hope there arent, because apparently EXcalibur PC is 98% positive seller with techs inspecting the pc before shipping. If they manage to screw that up, i'd be pissed.
You are very welcome! Just make sure you are buying from a reputable seller, if it's not manufacturer direct.

They probably have all kinds of metrics that they can create reports around (win rates for specific characters, items, perks, maps, ranks, etc.).
There are a lot of bad perks because there are a lot of perks, period. There are currently 77 survivor perks and 69 killer perks. Balancing that number of things is not easy (plus the perks don't exist in a vacuum either), and balancing changes always have unforeseen ripple effects.
Have a look at all the characters in, say, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and then do some digging and tell me how many are viable (the answer is 4 out of 56). Dead by Daylight's situation isn't quite as dramatic, but it's the same principle. When you have a ton of option, there is gonna be a small smattering of stuff that is worth using, and a bunch of stuff that just isn't as good. If they tried to rebalance everything, it wouldn't make a difference. The deck chairs might get rearranged, but we'd probably wind up with a roughly similar ratio of awesome-to-awful.

I'm thinking if i play everything in medium it'll not fry and last. I know that intel is very new from what i heard and rtx 2070 is a huge gap from 1660 super. But thats all i know. Would you say playing on medium should make the laptop go fine below 85C?
I would think playing games on non-ultra settings would be reasonable, yeah. I'd be shocked if you have any major cooling issues right out of the box.

The insta-heal nerf was a net improvement.

Ye i e been leaning to the laptop because it seems loaded and i trust MSI. Also i have mever used a pc before. I just dont want to spend extra hundreds for something that could overheat and be useless. Do You think it would last without being fried?
Most of those botique gaming laptops tend to run well, though the fans can get pretty noisy due to the small form factor. I see a couple of reviews of this laptop on Amazon that mention this, but that's just the trade-off you're making by going with a laptop.

Because not everyone in the world follows soccer. Hell, I don't give one care about soccer, don't follow it, and don't know a single team or player for it. I follow American Football, and get my news directly from the NFL website, so wouldn't even stumble on soccer related reporting.
Nothing against soccer or its fans, just not for me. So, don't assume everyone would know about that player, just like I don't assume everyone in the U.S. follows the NFL.
This is the only soccer that matters.
-
On paper, the laptop is better all around (especially the video card). I think the bigger question is whether you prefer a desktop or laptop PC. I suspect either of these choices would play the games you mentioned just fine.

GG OMG NOT TOO EZZZZZZ, WELL PLAYED. MAKE SURE YOU SURVIVE IRL OUT THERE, AND YOUR MOM TOO LOL. KEEP THE GAME INSTALLED.

Legion and Plague for the perks. Ghostface for a relatively competitive killer.

I'm not in Australia and my Survivor Rank is different from my Killer Rank, so I wouldn't even be playing with or against the same people. And if the white team in Chess gets to make 4x more moves per game than black then they are not the same.
I think you are missing my point, while also trying to rationalize your ragequitting. I am confident that you understand why the leaver penalty exists as-is.
If it is a one-time thing as you described above, it's a five-minute penalty. This hill is not worth dying on.
-
Also, re: your analogy. If your grandmother were playing... I dunno, chess with you, and you were playing the black side and flipped the board in anger, do you think she would be cool playing with you if you agreed to play the white side instead?
-
It's to penalize habitual disconnecters. Killer queue and survivor queue are not two separate games; they are both Dead by Daylight. If you're ragequitting (for whatever reason), the intent of the system is to punish you as a deterrent to doing that.
-
If you like the game, then sure. There are all kinds of good reasons to have a PS Plus subscription besides this, too.
-
Damn, harsh. 😥

The emblem system is not intuitive and makes no sense to a normal person.

Hey, HEY, WHOA. This is not your AMA.
Also, your taste in comics aged like that dude who drank from the wrong grail at the end of Last Crusade.

Once you've learned how the game works and you're not making newbie mistakes anymore, I think getting from 4 to 3 is harder than getting from 20 to 4, on either role. Personally, in order to pip at red ranks, I find that I have to be at peak performance at all times. Doing enough to pip at purple ranks only makes you break even at red, which means you'll spend a lot of time ping-ponging between 4 and 5 unless your play improves.
Ultimately, if you have what it takes to get to rank 3, you have what it takes to get to rank 1.

ok until know nothing happend but is it possible to fight a bann for (illegal bloodpoints farming). because i think it´s a lilltle hard to bann someone for that permanently.
Again, the only reason you would get banned is for, effectively, trying to hold the game hostage.
I've had many games as killer where a survivor will DC immediately for whatever reason (like if they get found and hooked immediately or something), and I'll farm with the survivors who remain because I feel bad that the game was immediately ruined, and I'd rather everyone gets something out of the time spent.
(Also, my rule with these matches tend to be: Everyone gets out alive, unless someone insists on getting death hooked or sticking around through EGC.)
-
Explanation: It's a bad, poorly thought-out challenge that incentivizes negligent play.
-
Don't listen to this guy, he hates fashionable nerdy girls who don't wear bright colors.
-
Dead by Daylight SWF, 2020.
-
The only reason you would get banned for farming is if you force players to farm when they don't want to, or work together alongside survivors to target and bully one of them.
As long as they are capable of doing objectives to end the match if they don't want to farm, you're in the clear.
-
Anecdotally, I feel like there are a lot fewer disconnects these days after they added harsher penalties, at least on PC.

I have level 50 on spirit.I have the teachables for bbq&chilli, pop, enduring yet i don't have any of these perks on my spirit because the bloodweb is bullshit.I know on mobile you can purchase exactly what perk you want.I would rather spent 200000 bloodpoint to get exactly what perk i need insted of wasting thousand of bloodpoint just to get the perk you want.Perks are an essential part of the game and you shoud not relay on luck to get them!
This right here, Behaviour. There are probably 20 people who say nothing for every 1 of this guy who is frustrated about the Sisyphean perk grind, and they leave the game and never come back. (@Peanits @not_Queen etc.).

I don't tunnel them for hiding. I tunnel them for being Claudettes. See the thread topic.
"Precious 4k" right, which is why I said I will throw a game if I have to ensure a Claudette's demise. SMH
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1318833#Comment_1318833
I'm playing at rank 1, none of the Claudettes I run across are new to the game LOL. They play like they are but their rank and hours played says otherwise.
I've told you several times. It is no joke. If I see a Claudette, I will tunnel her out of the game. IDGAF.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1318836#Comment_1318836
Ask me where I find pretty much every Claudette?
Yep, in a bush or a dark corner, usually Urban Evading, quite often Self Caring while another survivor is on a hook clear across the map with me no where in sight.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1318839#Comment_1318839
Well I will come after you for different reasons 🍑
Yeah but what about the Claudettes that don't hide in bushes and never Self-Care (and, in fact, think it's a bad perk that no one should ever use)?
-
These kinds of blockheaded all-caps demand threads never cease to make me chuckle. 🤣
There will probably be some sort of Bloodpoint event next month, since the game's anniversary is in June.

killer you can killer have no way out but to dc.
can killers jump on hook if were not having fun?
No, but the point is that survivors shouldn't be able to either. Play the game if you've decided to play the game.
-
No, this has never happened. They would never turn their entire development apparatus toward this kind of thing when there are people at Behaviour who are paid to design content. This is a multimillion-dollar company.
There have been contests to design cosmetics, but that's the closest you're ever gonna get with fan creations.
-
On one hand, there is no play style that absolutely applies just because someone picked a character, as many people in this thread have pointed out.
On the other hand, your absolute commitment here is hilarious. 😄
-
Most played are 100% gonna be Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, David, Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, and Nurse, because they're in the base game for all platforms. This is how that works in all games that have paywalled DLC.
-
What is the best ice cream?
-
Play Spirit.
-
It would be cool to have a couple more motes, or a very limited canned chat wheel, yeah.
-
This might sound good in theory, but it would lead to a wonky survivor meta. Friday the 13th has basically what you are describing, and there are only 3 survivors in that game who are considered viable. It would be the same way here, and it would lead to LESS survivor diversity than we have now, not more.
-
95% of the Cannibal players I see are facecampers. If you go to the basement vs. Cannibal, sorry, you're dead to me.
-
@Ghostwithaface Scott Jund's stuff is great, but this is a really advanced guide for someone who I assume is just starting out.
-
Welcome to the forums! It would help to know who you're playing and what you're having trouble with. But here's some general advice:
- Patrol generators, because that is where survivors want to be.
- Don't be afraid to break off of chases if they are taking too long. You don't want to waste your time on one survivor while the rest of the team pops gens.
- Don't let players tilt you with nonsense like teabagging and flashlight clicking. Ignore it, because they're trying to make you angry and force you into making mistakes.
- Try to unlock Barbecue & Chili (from Cannibal) to juice your BP accrual rate. Other powerful general perks are Pop Goes the Weasel (Clown), Corrupt Intervention (Plague), A Nurse's Calling (Nurse), and Save the Best for Last (Shape).
- Use sound to your advantage, and pay attention to scratch marks. These are your main tracking tools.
- Whispers (common perk) is also GREAT for finding survivors, but only at rank 3.
-
In terms of player activity, DBD is literally the healthiest it has ever been. The pandemic has pushed everyone into playing more games.
