Personally I have bought all the characters because I usually just spend shards on the shrine and the occasional cosmetic.

I'm curious how many people are patient enough to save 9k shards for new characters. I think the most I ever saved was 6-7k then said "######### it."

just two the twins an Ellode. The only thing that helped me do that was all the shards we got throughout December.

Where's the funny part of the story?

the funny part was how this person spent so much time on their stream and I'm talking like 20 minutes bitching about keys and plunderers. They were mad. Hung up on the fact that they should have killed us but didn't and the fact that they were rank 1 and were just telling us that we knew nothing and they'd be playing since day one ect.

    That's the funny part.

We got an item legit in the game that allowed us to escape a rank 1 killer and they were mad that we did.

  • @crowbarman said:

All he was doing was patrolling gens. That's... Good gameplay.

I wasn't complaining about that, it was just what he was doing and we used the key escape to counter. and it was the twins too.

  • Now at 11,

    Sluzzy has spoken:

Survivor perks are okay where as killer perks ruin the game right from the start. Not only that but that survivor perks that annoy killers are needed but Killer perks are crutches and are too powerful.

More on the this story as it develops.

  • You're not reading and understanding this properly.

The way you're describing is how the game is supposed to feel. It however does not feel like that.

Try playing both sides and comment again

  • I think the Cult in question could or maybe it already has gone to the place where the HEX: cult can go..

    Away.

  • @Sluzzy said:

As easy as killer is, why on gods earth is it necessary to crutch on the same things over and over for free wins? Does it not get boring winning very easy?

First game of the day: Hillbilly with Ruin and Tinkerer

Second game of the day: Nurse also with Ruin, Tinkerer, and even Starstruck on top of that

Third game of the day: Huntress with Ruin. I killed myself and exited the game. I knew the 4th match would be another Huntress or a Spirit probably.

This is ridiculous and very embarrassing for killers. It's more embarassing for the devs that are so incompetent that they leave all of these training wheels in the game for killer to get a 4K every game.

Once again, balance the game and make it fair for a change and stop pandering to baby killers that want easy wins.

As someone who plays both killer and survivor I can ask that question in reverse.

    Why do survivors need

    dead Hard

    Unbreakable

    Spine chill

    and Borrowed time

sometimes all the in the same build

but I don't think this is something you want to hear.

I got a question about next gen if I was to upgrade would I have to start over? Meaning Xbox One to the next gen Xbox is that at least cross progression?

the only thing that you will have to do again is the achievements/trophies everything else should carry over.

  • Funny story about keys.

I was playing a game a few weeks ago and We found a key. one person brought plunderers in too. and two of us got out via the hatch and it was the only way to counter his playstyle because we knew he was just patrolling the gens. we found the hatch and got out. The fun part is this person was streaming and after the game we went in to take a look. This person was a Rank 1 killer too.

    This is all we heard.

    "Plunderers is BS."

    "Keys are BS"

"if they hadn't found that key I would have Killed all of them."

The people I play with put me up against very high ranking killers. and no I don't use them to get wins. the ranks I've gotten I've gotten on my own. It actually puts me at a disadvantage.

Either way this guy was going on and on about if we didn't have this, if we didn't have that. and all of it was BS. That and since he was a rank 1 he knew more about the game then us and he was allowed to complain and we didn't know what we were talking about.

so yeah I know people hate keys but what they really need to do is get over themselves in some cases.

What pressure on killers to do well???

And what qualifies as well? Most BP? 4k? Or whatever they want to imagine?

it's quite simple. the game is 1 VS 4.

the survivors work on a team and you're playing by yourself.

If you're the one you're at a disadvantage. And by well I mean at least get 1 or 2 kills. Each person's definition of well is different in this case.

the same pressure is on survivors. finish enough gens and get out. the only difference is they've got 3 other people helping them along with the aid of addons and items. so it's actually a little less

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Playing survivor is way more stressful than playing killer sorry.

Alot more survivors dcing than killer too.

I disagree both are stressful but there is far more pressure on the killer to do well. The reason Survivors DC is because they're upset that the game isn't going the way the want.

  • for movies I picked Ju On.

    for Anime I picked Hellsing

for games I picked Until Dawn

and for comics I picked Spawn

the one I added was Clocktower

Some of the choices were crazy and some were already confirmed to be coming Resident Evil I mean.

  • what breakdown bug? I run it on some characters and I've seen nothing wrong with it.

With the realese of Trickester just remember again that any competitive mode should not have crossplay between PC and consoles for a even environment.

For example all killers are playable but there comes a point where you are limited by the precision of the joysticks, Trickster, Blight, so hard to be good on console even killers like Oni, Billy, Huntress, Pyramid Head sometimes you need to react fast with the power and aim fast and in control that's inconsistent, not to mention other benefits like lower graphics, FPS etc, as survivors you can be faster in the movements easier 360 etc.

The point is that it is an unfair environment and open a debate that the consoles should be separate from the PC and before you mention that you can deactivate that does not work because you will not find games that function is useless.

As someone who plays mainly on console. you missed two things.

1 people playing on console are far less likely to hack. where as they can go up against full on hacking PC player

2 the one thing they did to movement that evened the playing filed got bitched out of existence because people needed their 360's to survive.

after the ds nerf people need something else to complain about. also dead hard is not such a good perk, sprint burst gives you way more distance. the thing about dead hard is that its useless if your team wasted all of the pallets unless the killer is a moron and doesnt wait out dead hard. honestly i prefer lithe over dead hard

people have been complaining about dead hard long before the DS nerf my friend. You're right though there are many perks that are better then dead hard.

Friday the 13th, Alien, Chucky, Scream

Friday the 13th is never going to happen as long as the rights remain in limbo like they are now. We already have ghost face it's just not related to the scream movies, though you can get the classic costume from the store. Alien is a good idea but I'd have a hard time seeing the xeno put people on hooks. It would be cool if he could put them into cocoons and plant an egg in front of them. once the timer ran out Face hugger!

Along that same line how would Chucky do it? he's way to short for that.

  • The problem with dead hard is that it's a NOPE button. You're about to get a clean hit, not anymore. With only one condition you have to be injured to use it. I respect it when players use it to gain distance and time it right. If they use to it avoid something that should clearly be a hit such as into a wall or to run through you that's when I don't like it.

Yes killers have some one hit down abilities, but all of them require something to trigger them and all but 2 are on a timer. Dead hard can be used over and over a long as you're not exhausted; this give it a cooldown but not a limit on how many times and when you can trigger it.

I do realize that putting a limit of one use per injured health state would make the perk too weak so I'm not going to suggest that but it could use some balance tweaks

Would you prefer a faithfull Tyrant or a watered down Nemesis is the real question.

There is no earthly way Nemesis would get into DBD with his full arsenal of weapons and tentacles attacks. Meanwhile the Tyrant is a much more straightforward monster that can be included in the game without needing to workshop him heavily.

Also while original Nemesis may have been more memorable than the RE2 Tyrant, I feel its the opposite in the remake. Remake Nemesis feel like a setpiece in the first chapter and then just become a serie of boss fights. He never actualy feel like he is chasing you. Meanwhile in RE2 remake, once the Tyrant enter the RPD he is after you constantly, roaming around and making noises. When you go accross the police station you know its only a matter of time until he find you and you have to plan your path around his presence.

Honnestly the most likely things that is going to happen is that we will get a Tyrant with many skins. But Nemesis being the base kit would just be weird.

They watered down Nemesis pretty well in the RE3make so You really don't have to worry too much about that one. the only think he wouldn't be able to do is use weapons like he does in the game.

    Warning: Long message

Hi, i'm just wanting to share my thoughts on who i think will be our RE killer in the next chapter. I think it will be the one and only Nemesis.

    Why do i think this?

Well for starters, i feel if they were going to bring anyone from RE in, it would have to be someone classic and well-known to draw people in. Jack Baker and 'the tall vampire woman' (sorry, don't remember her name) could be good in the game, but i think they're not iconic enough for the choice, epically since one hasn't been released yet. I mean, don't get me wrong, Jack is very well known, but there are characters in the RE world that some would see as more recognizable that Jack.

When choosing a licensed killer, it can't just be the scariest one, it should have character, identity and a history within the license itself. This is probably why they chose Amanda over Jigsaw in the Saw chapter, she was more bloodthirsty than Jigsaw and was more suitable for the role. And i feel Nemesis fits all these parts. Lets see some pointers.

Character: Even though Mr X is the same as Nemesis in most ways, he lacks personality, Mr X is like a large Terminator and has little to use as a killer in the game. But Nemesis knows what it wants and doesn't stop until it gets it, it strategizes and has an arsenal of weapons it can use, such as a flamethrower. It also has a tentacle whip in its right hand, which i can see being its main weapon.

Identity: I feel Nemesis is the most recognized villain in the RE world, mostly for his endless chasing, disfigured face and intimidating appearance.

History in the license: Everyone knows Nemesis and has made different appearances in other games more than other villains in the RE games.

RE 3's subtitle was Nemesis, showing more just how iconic it is. Also, if you think about it, even its name fits with DBD. Nemesis means arch enemy, which fits the descriptions of most of the killers in DBD. Its also been named 'The Nemesis' in the RE game at some points, which is the nickname the DBD killers have.

In the very early tease about Year 5, the devs said there were many 'Stars' in the 5th year. And now that we know for sure its RE, it is likely to features either Jill or another S.T.A.R.S member, or Nemesis for its iconic "STARS!" catchphrase.

But these are just my thoughts and it could be Mr X, Jack or William or whoever, and if its not Nemesis, i'll put my hand up and say i'm wrong and be happy with whoever we get. Thanks for listening and see you in the Fog.

There's no thinking Nemesis will be the killer, Nemesis has to be the killer. He makes the most sense is the most versatile and is smart enough to switch tactics. He'd learn enough to put people on hooks.

The Tyrant from Resident evil 2 is so boring and one note. Walk and punch then crush head.

And these are the type of posts that are the problem. Instead of learning to actually play. Folks like you cry they're "too strong" until they get nerfed to the ground and you can have easy mode.

That's exactly right. as someone who doesn't main killer. It hurts to see them get gutted like Freddy. I have gotten 4Ks with him but not all the time since i'm outplayed and that's fine but now the people complaining just made him into a meme killer now

  • If they're going to gut Freddy this bad the hag should be next. she can place up to 10 traps and in very close poximity and she teleport to them. that's cool but Freddy nah we need to cut his traps almost in half.

  • I think I did, I know I hooked at least 3 of them twice. one of them DCd and I chased them all and kicked gens al lot, it was weird but I'll take it. now if I could only get adept shape as easy. I had it on PS4 but the trophies don't carry over to 5

  • there shouldn't be. but on steam there are 3 of them

It being deactivated on self healing needs to be changed to be a full heal. If you've started healing you could yes argue you're not being tunneled but say you start healing and killer decides to come tunnel you now because they see you've been unhooked or see you started healing yourself. You get tunneled for free now and the perk fails you. This wouldn't be abusable either because you still can't do gens without losing it nor heal others.

Nope, the nerf is hear to stay deal with it. I don't like it sometimes either but there's not much

  • @kyogul said:

The more I play killer, the more I've noticed something like this:

    • Survivors are justified in genrushing, but killers can't do the equivalent, which is tunnelling and sometimes even camping also. Survivors' objectives are to do gens, killers are to kill. It seems like tunnelling/camping is frowned upon in any circumstance
    • Running slowdown perks as killer is boring, overkill, and trite and is carrying you, but it's not "boring" when survivors bring toolboxes with BNP's, Prove Thyself, etc.
    • Survivors give up in games all the time for whatever reason, but if a killer doesn't want to play a game for whatever reason (dcing because they see an offering like haddonfield, they simply don't want to play the game due to various factors, etc.) they get insulted for not wanting to play
    • To elaborate on the previous point, survivors often give up when going against strong builds, especially on stronger killers. Like a ruin undying Spirit, and no one questions this very much if a survivor gives up. But a killer is meant to endure very troublesome and unbalanced trials, like a Pig with only surge for regression on fractured cowshed against four dead hards, BNP and prove thyself.

It's just a game yadayada, but I have very much noticed a lot of high expectations being played on people who play killer; from watching streams and seeing end game chat, to also my own personal experience playing killer as well.

pretty much, get ready for the flood of survivors coming in here telling you how full of ######### you are

  • @Kirkylad said:

I agree to a point but I would imagine they're trying to avoid the whole slugging at 5 gens and using these kind of play styles to get the achievement.

I also don't mind if someone plays like this because they can play however they like but the devs probably just don't want to promote this themselves.

those playstyles still happen though so ...

  • @LoolaHoop87 said:

Where has the fun gone out of this game? Match after match after match no matter if I play killer or survivor the people I go up against are complete sweatlords. They aren't there to make the game fun for the other people they are playing with. Killers constantly camp/slug/tunnel, even when playing swf (non comms) and the other survivors try to protect against the killer and take hooks etc killers just aren't interested they just want to tunnel someone out the game! Then as killer against survivors they are either totally unproductive and just want to bully the killer or literally just have come in with full toolboxes/bnp and prove thyself. Where's the gameplay? 😓

Never mind the fact I had someone as a killer in a 'tournament mindset' this shouldn't even be in the regular servers literally queueing up for a game for it to be over in 3/4 minutes cos they just go in hard. I know people won't agree with me and most likely these people are the culprits.

If you have nothing of value to add to the conversation then don't I would like a genuine discussion about it.

good question my friend but this game being for fun died about 4 years ago. I try to have fun with it but I feel like I'm in the minority on that one

What's the point of your list then?

It just sounds like a "survivor bad" kind of thread to me.

the funny thing is, it doesn't sound like anything because you can't hear text. second a lot of the things I mentioned happen quite a lot and as the post above me says it's a two way street. You're reading much more into it then is there. I'm not trying to start a debate on which side is better. I'm just pointing out things that I've noticed over my 2 plus years of playing that kind of annoy me. If those same things don't annoy you that's fine but it doesn't make my feelings or stance wrong. The Hypocrisy is huge with this game we all know it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240261/if-a-killer-does-it-its-garbage-if-a-survivor-does-it-its-a-fair-tactic-to-win

I've noticed for a few of the things survivors don't like the team has gone in and changed the game mechanics and scoring system to discourage and protect against it. However anything killers don't like; they throw out perks to counter it. If you don't have access to those perks for whatever reason on a all your killers too bad, but survivors; we'll change how the game plays for you. Yes some perks have been changed and just look at all the topics complaining about it and how unfair people think it is.

    ?

-What about the Endgame collapse removing hatch stand offs and survivors holding the game hostage after all the gens were done?

-The removal of almost all the god windows

    -Removal of pallet vacuum

    -Insta Flashlights

    Etc.

Survivors are also forced to equip certain perks to deal with unfun tactics like camping, tunneling, slugging (Borrowed Time,Decisive Strike,Unbreakable)

you missed the point of my list, I said there were some examples and it's based on when I started playing. the EGC came in shortly after I started so I didn't think of that. and If I were to list everything it would take forever. I listed the ones I run into the most.

    @KingFrost said:

If survivors rush Gens, they don't get many BP's either. In fact that's why AFK killers are so annoying. You miss out an opportunity for an entire category of points. I'll never understand players who's goal is to win as fast as possible so they can get back to the lobby. It's why I never bring BNP's or Toolboxes unless I've got a rift challenge (in which case I bring a brown toolbox and use it up immediately)

yeah I do the same. the same rule goes for killers too, I don't understand why some of them want to end the game so quickly either they get less points for not hooking enough and not chasing so to rush a game hurts both sides.

It's more the attitude of players then anything. No matter what side you play sometimes you can just tell people are doing things to annoy you,

  • The one big problem is the ranking system. If the game stuck only to a level that only the player saw; kind of like Friday the 13th did with it's leveling system then a lot of the sweaty competition could go away. Sure you're still going to get people who want to play hard to win but that's the same for every game. though most games that use that system give you rewards for leveling up, DBD gives you shards and that's about it.

the ranks effect matchmaking and I'm glad they're working on a system that will make them meaningless (if they ever get it to work right)

  • @fatbabyslayer said:

I had downed a person and the other survivor was right there injured of course ima hit her and not just pick up the downed person but thats slugging, I see a person and hook them the one survivor takes them off the hook, then they run and run and I stop the chase as I wanna patrol gens, then I see the still injured person that was recently unhooked... am I meant to just let her go??? End game I hook a person see nea and the silent hill girl around the area I go to nea and the silent hill girl goes I go back and forth I get hit off on nea down her pick her up hit the silent hill girl put nea up and IM CAMPING??? do they want the win handed to them? I literally am not aloud to win under any circumstance or else I am being toxic/scummy when they are running meta perks and im running "fun" perks. then the post game is the red rank nea "slugging, tunneling and camping." wait so its ok for you to use ALL OP PERKS but I am not aloud to try to win the game.

that's pretty typical actually. Survivors will destroy a killer verbally for doing things that they don't like, but everything survivors do is fair game and a tactic to win. I play both sides so I hear it all.

As survivor if I'm on a team that gets stomped, camped or tunneled they all complain about it.

If I'm playing killer and I have to camp to even get one killer against a team(sometimes I don't even get that thanks to game mechanics) or I can only ever see one person, or the team is being super altruistic and saving right in front of me. I get called trash and told to get good. I'm a low rank killer too. I know I'm not the best killer but sometimes the game feels impossible at some points.

  • For me it's the coldwin map. when ever I play killer pretty much every other match is on a condwin map; I so tired of seeing that damn corn.

when I play survivor it's the same thing

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

Every killer tech seems to just be called an exploit wether its fatigue cancel or J flicks. I am not going to put my opinion of J flicks here since I don't want to start a big arguement but why does it feel like survivors constantly get new techs but every killer one is labelled an exploit. Like as I am writin this I can't really think of a killer tech but there is CJ tech, heal tech, dumb tech, window tech etc.

because survivors do have more abilities then killers do. sure killers have powers that all act differently but the goal is the same; Hit, Down, hook, kick.

where as survivors can hide in lockers, body block you from moving, body block you at a hook, fix a gen very quickly with items, take a person off from any side of the hook while a killer has to hook from the font hence the body block, sabotage a hook right in front of you even after you hit them.

I play both sides of the game and I've noticed a pattern. Anything a killer does that annoys survivors; oh that BS and unfair. Anything a survivor does to stop a killer from doing what they're supposed to do; oh it's a tactic to win and 100% fair. Also anything that a killers do such as face camping, yes it's annoying I know but that gets changed by in game mechanics such as loosing emblem points or being able to unhook from any side of a hook. the same things that annoy killers; they use perks as band-aids to fix the problem. If you don't have them too bad.

My expectations are actually zero, because they'll update them which will change something people don't like; those people will complain and they'll just revert it after a week.

  • it is a problem, it's caused by a limitation that killers have which survivors don't and it can be quite annoying when you get someone fair and square and then you get body blocked

  • what killers should be able to do is hook a survivor from the side of the hook as well as the font. If survivors can do it killers should be able to as well.

Not just particular, grabbing has been bugged for at least two chapters, the only way to do it is accidentally, if you go for it, you just give the survivor a backrub, they can just run and cancel your grab.

oh I know I was trying to avoid using the word broken but the hell with it it's completely broken and only works when it feels like it sometimes.

The thing is they can't change text on the perk because of Sony's policy. They would have to make achievement unobtainable first - or just change what a Mercilless is (which now is tied to Emblems and means +2pips, proposed change is to show Mercilless or Brutal etc... based on kills [sacrifices] during match, this way they won't need Sony's permission for that.

I've said in numerous times on here they don't need to change anything about the achievement itself just what counts as a merciless victory. so many people are missing that point and going right back to the Sony won't let them change it because reasons

  • I'm really only playing it because it's the only thing there is like it. if it gets any good competition like Friday the 13th again I'll be gone

They won't change the whole pip system for some achievements, even tho they need to change it regardless.

they don't need to change the pip system at all. they just need to tie what the results screen says to the number of kills. they changed it once they can do it again.

the condition hasn't technically changed though. it's always been "merciless victory". unless they make it so 4k = merciless victory on the end results screen, they can't really do anything about it.

All they really have to do is revert it back to where a 4K is a merciless. the achievement/trophy is tied to what the results screen says. They don't need to change the conditions that trigger it at all, just the ones that make the trigger happen.

  • I'd say I'm about 70/30 survivor and killer.

I'm not the best killer out there only rank 17. but yeah I try not to play like a jerk but sometimes I have too based on how people play. Killer can be very stressful. I have to keep an eye on gens and 4 people. sometimes the audio mix is so bad that I can't hear gens being worked on or survivors when they're hurt. When I do hear a gen it can be tough for me to figure out it's direction too. there are some balance issues I find between killer and survivor but I think it's intentional in some cases. the one thing I don't like is that survivors can save another from any side of the hook to fight face camping but killers can only hook from the front which can be body blocked and there's no issue with that?

the one thing that bugs me is that sometimes I hear the sound of a gen being worked on and there's no one there and I don't see anyone running away. I'm playing on PS5 too. so who knows how many differences their are.

as survivor I have some pretty good games. I'm at rank 10 right now. sometimes you get killers that stomp you and sometimes you get lucky. it's all about teamwork for me. if I were playing solo I'd hate it. though I don't taunt killers or try to piss them off. the people I play with are much higher ranks so I get put up against red rank killers quite a lot so even if I die and can get a good game out of it it's a good challenge.

This is just an opinion from experience not an argument or a complaint.
