He needs some minor adjustments in my opinion mainly around how well the clock works as counterplay.

I think the clocks give too much guaranteed power time for how easily he is able to get it back up. I think the clocks need to reduce the timer more then it currently does.

I think more survivors would accept the spammy nature of the power if the clocks felt like better counterplay.

Edit: this would also lead to survivors doing clocks more often as you go in and out of clock mode more often.

Agree with this, the power ends and is immediately back there is literally no cooldown even if you do the clocks the time that is left is so long that it shouldn't be allowed to be back so fast. Even Freddy has a mechanism where you can't go to sleep after you wake up. It's just another killer that is miserable to play against. It will only get worse the more people play him. Having to do clocks for basically no benefit and the totems builds people are using alongside that. No gens ever get done.

  • I don't think that it is survivor sided or killer sided, it depends on who you get matched with. You win some you lose some. There is only one thing that is consistent and that is that I play solo and 90% of the teammates I get can't down survivors. I am sick of the amount of time I have to wait just to get steamrolled because my teammate is useless or even worse they are completely AFK!

  • Hmm @Wezqu I checked having just seen this and now there is 1 so I'm up to 3. I know I did all 5 but it does seem 1 of them added on afterwards at some point.

  • Same trying it today and I've done more than 3 escapes being broken and its stuck at 2 is this getting fixed. It's already hard enough to do since killers see a broken survivor and tunnel but other survivors just think you're a troll for using no mither

  • I have played both sides and come across 'sweats' on both sides. I will say though that to me there is no point interacting with the void stuff as a survivor in SoloQ its just gets you killed.

  • Billy has been over tuned he's almost impossible to counter I've been out of line of sight and they still flick around the loops. There is no point as people have said playing against them. Not only that the amount of them that just go back to hook to down the person unhooking is beyond a joke. That along with seeing them nearly every other match is just boring.

  • Omg I saw this and was like how can this be that bad?!? They really need to QC things…

  • I logged in to find this post I'm glad I'm not the only one it's borderline unplayable for me right now. Getting stuck rubberbanding its not only frustrating but its so bad sometimes its disorientating as the camera angle is switching too I was walking around a corner chasing a survivor and I walked round trhe corner 3 times each with the camera snapping back to the original. I just sat there like what tf just happened!? I play on Steam for the record.

  • This, I'm trying to have fun. Do challenges and killers want to slug, camp and tunnel. BM for no reason, I'm solo it's not on me if my teammates want to play like idiots.

1st game on a Pyramid Head that slugged and tunnelled, second game, a Plague that tunnelled and hit people on hook, third game, Onryo slugging/condemn, forth game slugging Wraith.

Like how is this fun???? There is no wonder that there is always a survivor bonus cos no one wants to play against that. Then they take great pride in making everyone miserable. Like just play the game, have chases, get hooks what is this new breed of killer who just wants to kill everyone quickly and chuck in the BM?

Don't get me wrong playing killer I get full swfs where I can't do anything because they are working together so on the flipside that can be equally as frustrating but you know as a killer if you are in a winning position and you can adapt you can play. Maybe even you know let everyone have fun!

This game will not last if BHVR don't commit to a party game or comp because the 2 types of players mixing is killing it altogether.

  • @ButterFlee13 said:

looks like one bad match and you are salty.

99.99% of match that people face are not these perks or combo.

I beg to differ its every match and its also combined with tunnel the first survivor out the match as quickly as possible

  • This I completely agree with this. I have been playing less and less but and it makes me sad that I put so much time and effort into a game for it to be wasted because the Meta is to Tunnel the first player and gen rush. I played this event and bloodrush and I would say 90% of games were 4 hooks 1 person is dead. It needs to be made so much better. That person getting tunnelled in every match is not going to keep coming back and playing and the killer getting gen rushed into oblivion isn't going to come back to play. It's demoralising. Casual players do not want to mix with the 'comp players' there needs to be a ways and means to separate the types of players for this to go back to being enjoyable. Time and time again I try to come back to the game and it gets worse and worse. The recent killers just hold 3 gens, they don't allow you to loop anymore you have to hold W meaning new people to the game don't learn to loop so then you face a whole heap of people holding W. I beg that tunnelling and gen rushing is deterred the same as camping is now being or a new game mode is introduced it needs a huge shake up/revival to make it fun again, no amount of bloodpoints, shards, new DLC or Twitch Drops will help its way past the point of this.

  • I use Head On a lot, its great when it works but it's so buggy. Like you say it either doesn't work or I get dragged out a locker by someone that's hasn't even opened the door?? I don't know if that's ping dependant and they opened it their side but I get so fed up of using it when 8 times out of 10 it doesn't work. They really need to fix this it's got really good potential yet it suffers so much I have no end of clips where I just get dragged out the locker even though I am spamming space.

  • I fully admit I will go next on this killer, the fact he camps already.... it's only going to get worse and then the way he zones with his minions so it forces you to be double tapped it's boring there is literally 0 skill required to play him cos its just camp and zone. Twins 2.0 except the guards run at the same time as the killer... its utter bs

  • @badkarma said:

Hard agree this is the worst addition to the game since Legion release.  Supremely underwhelming chase music.  AI killer/zoning that practically guarantees hits.  More exposure perks.  Way too easy to use and win as killer, boring as hell to play against as survivor.

Wesker and Nem we get some intense music and loud thumps. Blight you can spin, zone, or mind game. Huntress you can juke those hatchets. Trapper you can observe and disarm preparations. Nurse you can double-back and mindgame. Billy you can spin. Trickster you can juke and dodge. Bubba you can trick and run into the environment. etc etc etc..

Every single other killer you can feel accomplished to play as, or battle against. You actually feel like you outsmarted/outplayed a human opponent. This killer you just send out a bot to have the fun for you.

F-tier killer. I'm so disappointed I'm gonna uninstall until next character patch. Glad I used shards to unlock this killer instead of money.

Exactly this, the killer doesn't need to have skill. In the games I have played against them they send out a minion who zones me I have no where to go and then I get double tapped. You can't vault as they phase through it you can't drop cos they teleport... It's utter bs tbh that you now have another killer that can get free pressure. Then the exposed perk.... you get punished for outplaying someone.... why are BHVR trying to kill the survivor side of this game?? This is from someone who plays killer. That new map is also a huge issue.... it needs to be killswitched until they fix it!

  • I tried it today with Myers, it didn't count either. Tried it with GF immediately after and it worked.

Game is still as fun as the first time I played 4+ years ago. Actually I think it has grown more fun over the past two years than the first two the game was going. Fun - is a subjective word - what one person finds unfun 1,000 people will find fun... and vice versa. If you are not having fun in a game - I fail to see why you would play it.

Yeah people have already said this. It's not a discussion point for me. Move on if you disagree. Thank you

dont worry, youll start feeling it again eventually. dbd becomes boring and you get 4 ######### matches in a row but one day youll get an entire day of good matches.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240459/what-happened-to-this-being-fun

I mean really how many camping and tunneling threads are there going to be for killer mains really to stop doing this? I am sorry the days of saying "this doesnt happen that often", or "I only tunnel when I have to because four gens are done and I have downed no one" are over. Most (not all) killer mains do tunnel and camp, its in almost every damn game I play now. I am not exaggerating or making it up. I play a couple of hours a night and where I used to see camping and tunneling maybe in a game or so, now it is like every other game. It is just so dumb, its lazy game play solely to win, and it makes it less and less fun to play the game. It IS the reason I have gone from a few hours of play a day to maybe a game or two. Just last night the same damn Wraith killer (literally the same one) in two games hooks then goes invisible, sits by the hook only to get survivors who try to rescue. If you happen to get the save he goes right for the same unhooked survivor. Are some killer mains that bored and lazy that this is the go to move all the damn time????

Exactly what I mean where is the fun in this, I know I'm not the only one out here that thinks the same. Larger penalties need to be introduced or something in game where the hook timer stops if the killer stays within a certain range or if they decide to start slugging everyone and you have been on the floor for over a minute then the survivor is able to get up because spending half the match on the floor is absolutely no fun at all. There has to be something that can be implemented to deter this kind of playstyle

I find solo pretty fine....Unless the killer is literally facecamping someone, I'm almost guaranteed to at least safety pip during any match with 20k+ BP.

    I play solo primarily.

    Then I admire you!

Winning and winning decisively are fun for a lot of people. You need to make your own fun in Dead by Daylight. The only thing anyone else in the game owes you, whether killer or survivor, is to not cheat, use exploits and not say offensive or disgusting things in chat. Other than that, expecting people to play the way you want them to is pretty self-centered tbh.

I'm not being self centered I wanted a discussion about it. I never at any point said they can't

  • @Raccoon said:

I've been having way more fun as of late, and caring WAYYY less about my match results.

Surprisingly, my results have improved astronomically!

tbh I don't care about rank or the result I just want fun I guess solo queue does make it a lot harder at times

Heh. I'm always under an obligation when I hear a cry for help. That is what your posts always sound like, an angry, helpless child wailing lost in a Department Store. When I see these posts I do feel obligated to try and help, but there is only so much one can do if someone refuses any help tossed their way. However, since you were so polite and told me to "shut up" I just have to respond. It is my shallow nature. Let's look way back to roughly eight months ago when you first appeared. When know when you started playing because you dated yourself in one of your very first posts in August of last year. You said:

"Hey so I'm new to DBD not even a week a lot of what your saying makes sense. I started off as killer played some survivor went back to killer. Yesterday was the worst day playing very toxic players mismatched in the system. One literally stood there and blinded me with a torch for a good minute... I get told I'm [BAD WORD], I get 360d all the time. And survivors blocking the hooks? Is that a thing? Also forgive me... Teabagging haha... I just want to play I'm not bothered if you survive if I get you I get you if I don't I don't but play fair!"

That's odd, you don't sound like you are having much fun back then either. I took the liberty of going through your various posts and it came as no great surprise that you are unhappy in most of them. Going by your posts, I can't quite locate this time when the game used to be fun for you. So I have to ask, what is the basis of your comparison when you say the game is no fun now? I considered quoting all your posts or at least one from each month you made to thoroughly illustrate this point, but I suspect anyone who wants to listen to you lament DbD can quickly go look them up. What I found, taking just a few minutes to look into you deeper than your posts in this thread, is that you are a serial complainer. You have been one from the start. So please enlighten us; why are you still here?

You really have too much time on your hands my guy.

good question my friend but this game being for fun died about 4 years ago. I try to have fun with it but I feel like I'm in the minority on that one

    We definitely are the minority

Solo survivor has been rougher than ever for me recently. The killers are sweatier and random teammates are worse than ever. Every second match there is someone who suicides on first hook and in teammates going down in 5 seconds.

And during prime time the matchmaking is putting me with rainbow teammates....

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YVTD7NR7ZN9E/yikes.png

I would que as killer but I'm not interested in matching with 3k hours sweatlords running SWF on comms. Actually, that might still be better than this s...show.

Honestly, im not having fun at this point and I'm only committing because I bought the premium pass

I feel you, its terrible right solo survivor is hard!!!

Ok? You have chosen unrealistic fantasy world where you blame your lack of fun on OTHER people and the game itself. My obligation to help you has been satisfied. One can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Just remember the old saying, "wherever you go, there you are." I hope you do find your fun again, but I'm not holding my breath.

you were under no obligation either.

I think you just got burnt out like I have. Win or lose I don't really have fun anymore, on either side. Just feels by the numbers. I'm taking a break from the game and hoping it'll resonate with me when I come back.

I don't know I love the game and I don't play it half as much as I did because of the state its in.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240459/what-happened-to-this-being-fun

If I read your intention right, you don't want anyone who disagrees with you to chime in on the conversation? I assume you are the person who decides if what we add has value? I do so love posts like these; they make me laugh. The game is still the game. The only thing that has changed is you. Perhaps it is time for you to hit the electronic highways and search for the next big thing. Don't worry, I'm going to explain this to you, although I doubt you will accept the reality of it. Doing so would admit that you, yourself, are the problem.

DbD does change and evolve but it does so with glacial slowness. This is because they would rather annoy us with a minor problem for years than create bigger ones due to rushing. Unintended consequences come with every change. You on the other hand, change rapidly; so do I. Everyone playing a new game goes through stages, wherein there is the wonder, the golden time when wonder is mixed with just enough knowledge, the challenge, and ultimately the tedium. You can't go home again. The time of wonder was only possible for that brief shining moment when the game was new, the maps were not burned into your memory, and things still felt like watching a horror film. The golden time was when things were still new enough and you now knew enough that everything was FUN without real effort. Nobody on either side knew enough to be super deadly, just enough to make games feel challenging without being overwhelmed. You can't go back there either, short of a head injury. You know too much, and so do your opponents.

Then comes the challenge where people know the game, the maps, and the strategies. Things are still fun for those who like a challenge and still have nostalgia for the game. There is this silly notion in the back of your mind that only some of these games will be rough and hard, but many will still be FUN as you used to define it. This is self deception; you cannot go home again. You and your opponents are going to be down to brass tacks, fighting for every inch of every map. You either enjoy that kind of challenge or you don't. If you don't, the tedium comes faster. Even if you do, eventually the game will be tedious because even the challenge will fade. In both cases, it is time to move on. Even I, who LOVES every sweaty match, will eventually grow bored, and will move on.

I digress. The problem isn't the game or your opponents. YOU are the problem. The game isn't fun, never has been. Games are just games. People bring their mindset and fun with them. If you can't muster it anymore, you won't find it in DbD. Some people take break and come back; that seems to work for a few. Some people cut their losses, remember the good times, and move on to make new memories and start the stages all over again in a new game. A few, twisted individuals continue to play a game they don't enjoy and then pester the rest of us complaining about it. That is madness, to do the same thing over and over and somehow expect a different outcome. I believe in honesty and tough love. I'm not saying these things to be mean. You have to accept that the only fun you are going to have in DbD is going to come from you, that it has always only come from you. You have some hard choices to make.

Don't talk to me like I'm an idiot, reading your message was tedious. I was asking where the fun went and wasn't bothered with people and bullshit answers. I've actually had people that understand where I'm coming from so it isn't just me that's the problem. There is no reason to get into an argument about things if you disagree with what I say move on. You don't have to try and be a smart ass.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I've suggested rank and casual mode.

Hopefully all the sweaty people can go try hard and cry about rank.

And causal, fun, potatos playing the game can continue.

Doubt it will happen, assuming the player base is too small, or it would mess up the current blood point system? Which I like because it's different from most other games.

And for those few sickos, I imagine they rp as the killer and like to watch the world burn.

Yeah something like this can surely be implemented when they have stuff for MMR even if its not currently working

if You want to have fun play KYF with the same mentality of fun, some people may find it fun to gen rush or tunnel and camp. I do it sometimes. It’s not particularly ruining fun for others. Like there’s no actual rule to say who can’t do this or who can do that. You want to camp then do so or even tunnel or even gen rush. You can have fun it you make it fun.

    I’ll do it for you.

“like I said, If you have nothing of value to add to the conversation then don’t”

I was actually considering your opinion until you did that at the end. Shame you can't have a grown up conversation

  • @Clevite said:

The thing is everyone's win definition is different and fun is subjective. As such, if you have a 4k win definition as a killer, you will seize any opportunities you can to make this happen, hence adding to your fun.

However, this directly affects another person's game, killing them or tunneling, etc, making their game experience unfun or a loss in their own definitions. This can also be argued to be true in reverse.

Simply put, there are two many perspectives as well definitions of fun and wins, for everyone to be happy all the time. Play chill and sweats have no fun, play sweaty and the chills have no fun. I say play the way you want to verse, and be happy to be "doing you". And respect those that do it differently.

I never said they can't I just want to know when in became unfun to play. Yes everyone has a different opinion of what's fun but seriously it's becoming ridiculous

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

They're making a valid point and I think they're absolutely right. What is "sweating" to you might just be another player who has the most fun when they win. There is no reason to expect that other players' fun and your fun are always going to line up.

If you're constantly playing against sweatlords, either MMR is still wonky, or you're probably sweating yourself. If the former, it should get better over time. If the latter, stop sweating yourself and you'll eventually have fewer people sweating against you.

I don't sweat I can't be bothered to sweat it supposed to be a fun game.

  • @Phasmamain said:

I've been having a pretty good run of fun games recently. There are always some sweat lords on the survivor and killer side but mainly it's been pretty good. If I was going to have a complaint it's that people are actually just not very tactical on the whole. The number of times I watch my teammates just run around like headless chickens while someone leads a killer on a 2-minute chase is crazy high.

As for the tunneling I have seen lots of posts about this but I haven't noticed a change at all in the last few months. I'm only rank 8 but from 20-8 I have been tunneled maybe 5 times and some of those were likely because I had found a key in a chest or was simply looping the killer enough to get them tilted.

I'm happy you have had a fun time at least there is still some decent players out there! And yes the headless chicken thing is too true! As a solo survivor I see it all too often and often get left on a hook til second stage
