Connections good. But the heal you expose you…I bet that was it. I was thinking it was some event thing cause it was sporadic. Thanks for the heads up.
-
Same issue on PC. Thought it was just me. I updated my display drivers and verified the game files. Still no go.
-
There are always improvements which can be made to both killer and survivor. But often times the things the devs decide to focus on are strange. For instance, why did they nerf Billy into oblivion, but yet Blight's addons have remained OP for so long. I feel instead of adding new features they really need to do quality of life updates.
Making the maps more balanced would go a long way to help. With re-balanced maps they could check back in and get a much better feel for what changes actually need to be made.
Other QoL adjustments could be:
- Change DS stun time back to 5 seconds. Most everyone agrees 3 seconds is too short. I mostly play killer, and to be honest I don't really care much about a 3 second stun.
- Fix flashlights. It is very frustrating to get blinded while I am staring at a wall. Just make it so the survivors need to be in the FOV to make a stun.
- Rollback the healing nerfs. Again, I am killer main and I think those nerfs were too much.
- Fix pallet stun vacuum sucks. Survivors now stun can make the stun while on the same side of the pallet as the killer and it shoves the killer all the way over to the other side.
- Make boons and hexes worth playing. They are supposed to be high risk high reward. Right now, neither type is worth running. Revert boon healing, just don't make it so fast. And make it so a boon can't be added to the same totem twice. For hexes, put a timer on them so they can't be cleansed within the first minute of the game.
- I think the new camping counter could work well. But having it turn off only during end game is an issue. Once all gens are done you should be able to camp because there is no counter for a 99 percent gate. This could be fixed by still having the anit-camping active, but then have the gate regress to 90 percent. Again, every survivor team is going to 99 a gate after all gens are done, so adding a small regression to the gate is something that should be added so the killer also has a chance.
- Why remove hook grabs. They were already rare, but they did add some spice to the game.
- Map balance.
- Map balance.
- Map balance.

Are you using shadowborn?
I never use shadowborn.

I figured out the problem. For some reason Steam didn't update to the current patch. It still allowed me to load the game and there were a couple survivors loading in, just not enough to start a game. I suspect they were also pre-patch and had super long load times. I had to verify the integrity of the game files through steam before it would let me start the update.
-
Seems to me the devs keep trying to balance things so killers will average 2 kills vs soloQ. Because of that, those same killers suffer against swf.
What they should do buff soloQ up to swf level then balance the game. There is no way to balance against both solo and swf.

Lol I once hit this surv like 30 times, until eventually they tbaged and started a gen and I just grabbed 'is ass right off of it.
Excellent:-)
-
These are not bugs. They are types of hacks.
-
I had no hexes. I downed the player in the vicinity of a boon. Slugged the player to down another nearby survivor. Just as I returned to the first player they picked themselves up off the ground right in front of me. I hit them and Soul Guard endurance activated. After the game I checked and they did NOT have unbreakable. Perhaps a bug, perhaps not. But those were the order of events.

Anyone else having these issues on Xbox? The crowns only unlock on a few original characters. On most of the original characters, the crowns are a no show after escaping with the crown unlocked. And not all of the redemption codes work. Goldenbros will not go through.
edit: Goldenbros worked after trying a bit later.

At least I'm not alone, thought I was doing something wrong but noticed the "crown unlocked" achievement at the escape as Leon and got nothing.
Leon won't get a crown, just the points for finding it. Only original characters are eligible for the cosmetic.
-
Same here. Tried it with Billy and Trapper on the killer side. And escaped with Nea, Jake, Meg, and Dwight but did not receive the crown.

Having gotten all of my Survivor crowns, would getting additional ones add to this total, would you think? I'm tending to leave them to give the others first refusal now.
That is a very good question. I think you still get point regardless, but not sure if extra crowns count towards the skins. The devs are being very mum about the skins for some reason.

How do you know this?
Edit: Found it
It is mentioned on the event page. https://deadbydaylight.com/en/news/5th-anniversary-limited-time-event

Like others have said, it would make an achievement impossible to get which is apparently a no-no from MS and Sony.
Personally I suspect that they’re working on something that will affect the end game in a bigger way, not just keys.
Ahhh...I did not realize that was the case. That does indeed make it more difficult to sort out.

A key nerf requires much more than the mori nerf did, the mori nerf was a simple number change, changing a 1 hook requirement to a 2 hook requirement. Keys on the other hand, will most likely require much more.
We may see a new channelling requirement
New animations
Possibly even changes to the hatch as a whole
Not only that, but the key nerf could very well happen in the next update, it is highly unlikely that the devs will tell us about the nerf in advance. That way, people won't just use all their keys before the update drops.
The key change doesn't need to be difficult. Just make it so only the person using the key can escape.
-
I think it's a step in the right direction. However, I feel there needs to be something else done. The new changes don't add much except a cool animation. True you can bypass DS, but that's already possible.
I feel like the new moris need to have other conditions that make them usable. Something like, mori upon the third hook OR if exits games are powered.
-
Currently just Feng. I'll probably do Kate or Nea next. It takes sooo long that I'm in no hurry.

yeah...
i think the best shot they have is to buff solo survivor to the point where they have the same tools to work with as SWF teams and then balance killer around that.
and even then, solo teams would still have somewhat of a disadvantage when compared to SWFs (just because its 4 random people versus 4 friends who know each other), so i doubt thats ever going to be balanced properly...
At issue here is that the devs keep trying to balance all killers the same. That is a big problem as not all killers are equal.
I think the solution is for them to NOT try to balance every killer the same. Easy killers should be balanced against new solo survivors. Intermediate killers should be balanced against purple/red rank solo survivors. Hard killers should be balanced against SWF.

You can't unless the killer has Shadowborn or M&A since they increase the FOV of the killer.
It's definitely happened to me without running those perks.

Ya you can blind from the side now apparently, found that out the hard way when 4 swf's swarmed me with flashlights and unbreakable. Super fun.
That's what it seemed like to me too. I wonder if it's just a bug with the current patch or a permanent change? Would be an awful change if that is the case.

I have a 48 hr ban RN just from getting kicked back to the loading screen after my game freezes for a sec. Definitely worse.
That stinks. Hopefully they can sort out the issue soon. It's been driving me crazy. I had to stop playing it was so bad.
-
I am just north on the killer side of main (roughly 60/40%) and I think moris definitely needed to be changed. I just think this particular change was not well thought out at all. With the changes there is no benefit to using them now. I'm hoping this is a first pass by the devs and that they will continue reworking.
Something that brings back the element of horror. Really that means making a condition beyond just hooks. It should be something along the lines of being after the first hook AND even then only after the hatch spawns. That way killers can't just tunnel someone out of the game early on. But yet the moris could still be useful to the killer in late game.

I'm keen on the idea Otzdarva had for Mori's:
After hooking EVERY survivor at least once, you may kill a survivor by your hand.
This stops the offerings being absolutely game changing, as the killer needs to get 4 alternative downs to force somebody out of the game. If one or two survivors manages to evade the killer for a significant amount of time then it's possible nobody gets Mori'ed all match.
I don't realistically see the devs removing Mori offerings completely, but this would feel like a compromise to keep survivors happy while avoiding anger from killer's. I don't care how they nerf it though, since I rarely use these offerings myself.
The issue with this is that you just need to have a player hide in the corner all game and it negates the mori ability completely. Or if you have a swf group running OoO...ouch. I'd rather they just make the mori an option to do only on the third hook. It's a bit faster than carrying them to the hook for the sacrifice so that should keep the killers happy. And since they would be dead anyhow it's not as much of an issue in terms of fairness for survivors.
-
DC penalties need to remain. Too many people rage quit the instant something doesn't go their way. DCs screws up the game for everyone else. Matches are maybe fifteen minutes. Not hard to stick it out for that amount of time.
And the game really doesn't crash all that much. I've been playing on both PC and Xbox over the last couple years and have had maybe four or five crashes total between both systems.
-
I figured out the issue. I'm using an Alienware gaming laptop with an external monitor hooked up to my Thunderbolt dock. Surprisingly many versions of Alienware systems do not use dedicated graphics via Thunderbolt. Hooking up the external monitor directly to the display port makes everything work fine.
-
Just played a round and got a 4k with the hag. In chat afterword, the survivors got salty and accused me of setting traps so I could camp the whole map.
-
Got the dlc and updated to the new version today. According to the Steam overlay, my framerate has tanked to 1 fps while in the main menu.
32gb ram
Nvidia gtx 1080 8gb graphics card
Windows 10 pro
I sent in a ticket. Haven't heard back yet, but hopefully they can sort it out soon.
-
Upload the video to YouTube. Then include the link to video with your support ticket. Works very well when you do it this way.
-
I was able to get out once as well. I spun left/right while trying to walk up the rock. Took around twenty-thirty secondsand then I just popped right out. Of course the other couple times it happened the killer smacked me down and tossed me on a hook.
-
Terumisan, this pic made me spit up my drink:-)

Thanks MandyTalk.

Thanks all. I will keep an eye out. Hopefully the devs will release some costumes.

When I first started playing, I thought it caused extra damage. These days, I don't do it. Just hook and move on.
-
Better would be if they made DBD 2 using the new Unreal engine. Not sure if there are any plans for that though. Trying to retool the current game to fit would be too difficult.
-
I would have liked breakable walls to not be visible to the survivors. Would add some oh crap moments to have a killer break through a regular looking wall next to you.
-
Keys and moris both need some tweaking in my opinion. I think keys would be fine if only one person could use them. And I think moris would be okay if they could only be used during the third hook.
-
Sounds like it might be a random occasional bug. This was the only time it's happened to me. At least I know I'm not going crazy.
-
You also turned back to the window just before the hit. That combined with lag is the most likely culprit.
-
I had this problem too. Setting the size of text and apps to 100 percent seems to have fixed the issue.
-
That's not entirely accurate, though. The Consumer Rights Act was revised to account for video games. The Consumer Rights Act says goods must be:
- Satisfactory quality.
- Fit for purpose.
- As described.
These changes were made, in part, to prevent companies from hiding behind blanket EULAs if they are not holding up their part of the agreement.
Right now, DBD is lacking in these areas because the matchmaking issue is making the game unplayable.
That being said, my having mentioned refunds is more out of frustration at the lack of response from the devs into fixing this glaring issue. What I actually want is for the devs to fix the game so it can be played. That is all.
-
Reborn2020 -- that would definitely be an improvement. Good idea.

D'oh. Thanks for the heads up.

Peanits, thanks for the comment. I did report them.
I am glad to hear that you all are striving to keep people from acting this way. My apologies.
