Because of how bloated his kit is, for a power of that nature. Hyper-mobility can be tricky to balance because of the way survivors have to play around it. They are powerful abilities, after all.
Hillbilly and Oni are good examples of well-designed killers with hyper mobility. Hillbilly has the charge time to keep in mind and Oni has to build up his power, but in return they are gifted a good power. That is fun, and fair.
Wesker in the other hand, is a perfect example of a horribly designed killer, for a power of that nature. He has barely any charge time to worry about, he can vault, he creates a countdown towards Hindered and he gets a notification of your location as soon as you get rid of the infection (which you have to do). Passive slowdown and information are good abilities, but they cannot be paired together with mobility. This is way too much.
Even if you somehow play perfectly against him you will go down, because you will get slowed down and once you're fully infected he only needs to get you once, while not worrying about… well, anything. And it doesn't help that the few resources you can use against him are scarce, thanks to the map reworks, so regardless of which direction he throws you (which shouldn't exist as an ability to begin with), there is a good chance you will be stuck on a deadzone with nothing to use. His hitboxes are extremely inconsistent. Not to mention his incredible potential for tunneling, which thankfully isn't as intense as it used to be before his nerf.
Also, he doesn't even contribute to the horror atmosphere and his voice-lines are annoying.
He is not unbeatable, of course. No killer is. But I don't think his power is healthy for the game. I would be happy to never see him again.
Terrible killer design.
I'm sorry but Infection just isn't a significant effect anymore. It's ~100 seconds after the first hit for a -4% Hindered effect.
-
Never going to happen but they should let both killers play Legion, as long as they're playing different members…

It doesn't even necessarily require elevation changes, crouching and moving in a direction makes hits that would hit an uncrouched survivor miss due to how the hitbox is set up.
IIRC crouching survivors have a smaller hitbox compared to when they're running or walking. Good survivors use that to avoid being hit by killer powers. I don't see a problem with this since you can still use your power on a survivor whose crouching and not on a lower elevation than you.
It affects the hitboxes of certain killers far more than intended. You can literally be touching Demo's model but because you're crouched the actual hitbox will miss you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRkOESqVSfEI know this is an old clip but it still holds up today in terms of how this works. Demo literally slides off of the Survivor on the second shred without hitting them just because they crouched. It's crazy how hard this tech screws over Demo specifically.

Then it should be fixed by letting those respective killers have less vertical restrictions when using their power. But even if it isn't fixed I don't see it as becoming a huge issue since Blight and Billy are still S-tier killers along with the crouch tech not being well known at the moment and also requires specific elevation changes for it to be pulled off.
It's getting more and more well known by the day. It doesn't even necessarily require elevation changes, crouching and moving left or right slightly makes hits that would hit an uncrouched survivor miss due to how the hitbox is set up.
The killer it affects the most is Demo, who isn't anywhere near an S-tier killer either.
If Hug Tech is unacceptable then this needs to go too.

No amount of duct tape can fix this game. They need to sell this IP and make dbd 2 with original engine
How to tell if someone has absolutely zero knowledge about gamedev in a nutshell.
-
I think they use default TR for all killers in 2v8 to avoid confusion between the two.
-
I mean, it says right there in my post.
-
Depends if it's 50% total or 50% of current.
-
@versacefeng said:
From what I've seen, you can counter the crouch tech by looking down while attacking.
The killers that are most affected by this have their cameras locked vertically during their power. Billy, Blight and Demo mainly.
@indieeden7 said:
I mean, killers aren't FORCED to always use their power. If a survivor keeps crouch teching you, you should probably just go for an M1. A big part of this game is learning how to make the better choice in a certain scenario. Hence why killers like Huntress or Hillbilly even have the option to M1 in the first place.
Kind of asinine advice. Crouch tech nullifies some killer's powers to a borderline broken degree and shouldn't be a thing.
-
Take the DC penalty if you want to go next. If you want to go next all the time then uninstall.
If you go next at 5 gens then you are the reason why solo queue is so terrible at the moment.

Is there a reason to create a build around opening chests quicker? Most games there's only 3 anyway.
Hey, I mean last year's cobblers add an extra chest as well as giving you extra BP.
I have like 600 on Sable still. -

It's based on what you have when they decided to take the snapshot for the PTB usually people will have enough to at least unlock tier 1 perks.
I know what it's based on. We shouldn't have to luck out by having high BP on a date that seems to change every time before a PTB. I only had ~60k BP from the snapshot date.
We should be given bloodpoints to test the actual content. It is a test build after all.
-
I really like what they've done to the perk. I just wish it had a slightly shorter cooldown, maybe 45 seconds, or maybe make the aura reading always active and only have the gen speed go on cooldown.
Either way, I'm happy that they've finally made Quick Gambit somewhat viable. I love seeing a bad perk made good.
-
We don't need to add killer forfeits, we need to remove the ability for Survivors to forfeit.
-
Yeah… I don't really see much of a point in using it at 60 seconds. It's like Moment of Glory but somehow worse.
-
They said it's for a different chapter. I guess they finished the map earlier than the rest of the content and want to do some testing beforehand.
(that or this is a rehashed previously licensed map that got cancelled but let's not assume the worst) -
It's barely used, quite honestly. Nowhere near the meta. It's just the games where people use it to it's fullest extent are unpleasant and hence more memorable.

I think they should buff it to 50% but it ONLY activates late game. It'd be pretty hilarious being able to basically yeet survivors off the ground with 50% faster pickup speeds.
I think I could get behind a similar idea. I wouldn't only want it to activate in the endgame because honestly it's a nice perk as it is, just underwhelming.
If they made it 5% per stack, and an extra +25% when the Exit Gates were powered, I think that'd be really neat.
-
I'd love per-character profile loadouts. I already run hook charms that are related to the killer I'm playing on basically every killer, I'd love to do the same with the profiles too.
-
I mean yeah, that's kind of the point. It's only meant to be used if the killer's tunnelling you.
I'm gonna assume you weren't around you were around for pre-nerf DS but you'd have people working on gens in front of the killer with DS up and then they'd go hop into a locker if they got too close. It was kind of dumb.

i did not say that. i said i am saying that for killer to consider changing their build play-style into something different than this large laundry list of game-delay perks:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K7P6CB02CF6T/image.png
Haste perks are main potencial of chase builds for killer. besides bamboozle which is plaster fix to bad window design and slow-burner brutal strength, there isn't much for killer in relationship chases builds. arguably the most chase oriented builds in the game in my opinion right is Franklin demise+Weave attunement which gives aura's in loops for killer based off survivor's inability to manage their item. but that is like Opps, we made chase build, better get rid of that one.
A lot of the perks in the killer game encourage efficient soft-tunneling like aura perks, 3 gen like gen-kick perks, early hard-tunneling like gen-blocking perks but don't really promote killer for playing offensively and playing loose. Part of why playing playing loose and offensively is rarely seen on killer is because there simply aren't any killer chase perks that promote that gameplay style on killer end that are perceived as popular/good choices. The reaction you expect whenever you suggest out of the box is @GeneralV reaction or @ReverseVelocity reaction.
There's out of the box and then there's conceptually busted.
You're basically suggesting the killer version of (old) Made for This, which was incredibly busted. Your idea is just inherently flawed, and not even theoretically, it's been tried and tested.
-
Can't give you a dev update but I can give you a sign:
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
i would suggest to add 1% haste per gen done.
God please no.
-
Not only does this idea have a myriad of issues, such as false reports, increased toxicity towards others, etc. It just won't work the way you think it will.
I tunnel, camp and slug my fair share, especially in games that are close, or not in my favour, because they're undeniably effective strategies that can be used to turn the tide. Same with Survivor, I'll bodyblock and take chase aggressively when a teammate who's dead on hook is in peril.
I'm not doing these things to deliberately annoy the other side, I'm doing them because they're good strategies, and sometimes straight up necessary. I generally try to match the energy of the lobby accordingly, because hard tunnelling in a lobby that is clearly mismatched in your favour is a bit of a dick move.
A badge won't stop me from doing these things. It's like people in the end game chat who try and shame you with things like "nice tunnel" or "nice camp" or whatever. Like, yeah, that's what I was aiming to do, thanks for noticing.
People who are doing these things with the specific intent of ruining the other side's gameplay will likely try and achieve as many badges as possible. Like a badge of (dis)honour, if you will. There are some people who genuinely enjoy ruining games for others, which shame has no effect on, and giving them a unique status will only encourage that.
Not only is your idea ineffective, it's counterproductive.

Also if the window of opportunity for the "Wasted" score event could be increased by 1 or 2 seconds that would be swell as well.
Yeah, I agree with that, the timing is kind of tight, especially compared to other killer score events which have a hefty buffer even after an effect subsides.
As for the Invigorated score event, maybe a name like "Amped", "Wired" or "Hopped Up"? Kind of the opposite of Wasted.
-
I mean that's basically the same deal as Object. Object also gives you a 6% speed boost when your aura is revealed. I think it'd be too similar.

I got lucky and got both Hemophobia and Left For Dead in 2017 by chance. I was a new player and had no idea what was going on lol.
Left for Dead was probably one of my most memorable games from back then though. I was Bill on Resting Place against a clearly brand new Huntress. I was able to complete both gens and open the exit gate undetected.
The reason why it was so memorable is because it was the first time I heard her sing in that lower and creepier pitch... Huntress back in the day would stop singing when she entered chase, and would instead breathe really heavily. Once the chase ended the lullaby would start over. I was genuinely terrified lol
EDIT: Oh and to maybe answer the question of "why didnt you just look for hatch?". Hatch would only show up once 2 gens were completed.
I wonder if they could reasonably bring back the "no lullaby in chase" thing now that we have chase indicators in the HUD?
-
It's doable, especially if you rush the new achievements every time they drop. Hand-Eye Coordination is a nightmare to get currently but it was way easier if you played shortly after Vecna's release.
It took me years but I was able to do it, I'm sure you can too!
(Console Skilled Huntress is a nasty one though, I hope you REALLY like Huntress)

Yeah, for real. I am in Canada and the closest servers I can connect to are in Virginia, which gives me a 60-80 ping depending on how the game is feeling that day.
For some reason the game also seems VERY loose with what servers it puts you on, since I quite often get put on the South American servers and it people from South America are put on the NA servers and it makes the game awful to play.Canadian game has zero Canadian servers. Funny.

My main is Legion. I don't have any super exciting tips but here are a few basic ones that some players might not know about:
You can pick Survivors up in Frenzy. So if you hit someone through a window or over a pallet, you can use your power to quickly vault over to pick them up and save a little bit of extra time.
The Unknown perk Unbound can be lots of fun on Legion. It's a slept on perk for them, imho. Should have been a Legion perk, really.
There is of course the "Legion tech". This means letting a Survivor blind you to get you out of your power, so you can immediately basic attack them without going through the fatigue animation. This is usually pulled off at a pallet, but I've managed it at the exit gates for a funny "just leave" moment. I once had someone blind me as I ran into the gates at Midwich, which allowed me to knock down an injured Bill and carry him away for a last moment kill. He was so unhappy about this he DCed.
Don't always be a "hit and run" Legion when in Frenzy. Lots of Survivors will expect you to leave and start mending, so mix it up and cancel your power to return to knock them down sometimes. This can be very effective, especially if you know they can't make it to safety. Be unpredictable.
Lots of prominent content creators don't rate Julie's mixtape very highly or think of it as an add-on for beginners, but I think it's one of their best. I pair it with the Iri button to break pallets and Enduring to give Legion some anti-loop chase abilities. I honestly think this is one of their strongest add-on combos. It makes getting smacked in the face with a pallet fun and is by far my favourite way to play them, because you never have to respect a pallet (unless you are chaining hits). You want Survivors to stun you in Frenzy with this build to use up pallets and I find most Survivors will happily oblige.
The last one is super, super niche and only for the event. Legion can vault from the top floor of the void onto the little platform below. I think other Killers have to swing around with a basic attack hit, but Legion can vault, get a Frenzy hit, then leave the rift to continue the Frenzy. It's lots of fun if you can pull it off. This mostly what I do to kill time in the void whenever I'm getting dunked on, though.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/AUWYGE0ZOBCR/voidvault.jpg
Another (quite niche) Legion tip:
Htting a hooked Survivor while in Frenzy does not cancel it. In specific scenarios, such as running past a hooked survivor, this can be used to get a free lunge and a bit of extra distance. Especially good with Friendship Bracelet.

I know that a lot of people have been asking for those two addons to be basekit, but I think that would make the gameplay on the Survivor side feel worse.
Both of those addons make Ghostface significantly stronger on indoor maps with no downsides, and a faster cooldown means that we will likely see more hit-and-run ghostface players, which is a playstyle many people find boring or annoying.
I'm happy with any basekit addons they give him, but like I said, it could mean a worse experience for Survivor players.I mean that's just how his kit fundamentally works. Whether it's Hit and Run or Stalk and Run, there's always an "and run" attached to it.
Unless they want to give him a brand new ability on top of what he already has, juggling survivors by either hit and run or stalk micromanaging is his only game.
You can't really make him stronger without buffing hit and run playstyles because that's all he boils down to at the end of the day.
-
I mean Doctor and Legion's powers are heavily connected to their respective Terror Radius.
-
Matchbook basekit again (and a rework of Matchbook so I can finally feel like I can run other addons instead of cooldown), maybe Philly basekit too.
Apart from that, I don't know what they could do. Maybe 4.0m/s crouch speed?
-
I 100% agree with all of these changes. Cut Loose is a really fun perk with good potential but the hefty cooldown and chase requirement hurts it a lot.
I'd honestly go as far to even say that the cooldown could be 20 seconds, the same as Quick and Quiet.
I'm not sure why this perk wasn't changed with the latest midchapter, it seems like they did an informal pass on all of the Tools of Torment content. Whether this perk slipped under the radar or was simply left out due to lack of dev bandwidth, I don't know, but I'd love to see it buffed.
-
Honestly, I think a better idea would be to add a hefty self-recovery speed bonus while Cursed. Something like 50% compared to Unbreakable's 35%.
The issue with the self pickup isn't necessarily the Cursed requirement itself, it's just it has that AND it takes an eternity to do, since default self-recovery speed is very slow.

DO you remember when that happened? I keep up with patch notes but I don't remember it being officially nerfed.
It is a rather huge frustration for this perk though since it already carries the Deliverance curse.
IDk if it's a bug or not because OoO was shadowbugged at one point too
It was a bugfix officially. However the perk worked the way it did for years.
I think they should bring it back as intended behaviour.
-
I'm still mad that they made it not get full progress if another Survivor joins in on a heal at any point. It's so frustrating.

I think the heal time should be bumped down to 45s. Then it'd be pretty decent without being OP.

Because there is no negative word when it comes to the long shots, but a negative indication when it comes to Huntress players basically going into Melee-Range before throwing their Hatchet.
The quoted sentence reads like an answer to the question "Why do you like my Huntress-gameplay?". And given that all Discussions of OP here are Anti-Survivor, I call doubt on that one.
I think it's far more likely that people got wound up at the other side playing the game decently well and coming to get upset in someone's twitch chat than the OP manufacturing a whole scenario just to post on the forums for a minor amount of attention.
I might be wrong, but I don't think conspiratorial thinking helps anyone in the long run.

How? You won't have aura reading IRL.
I will use Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance, Pop Goes the Weasel, Corrupt Intervention and Surge to topple world governments and install a Killer Main World Order.
We shall nerf Windows of Opportunity not once, not twice, but 3 times!!!!! Dead Hard will be illegal, as will all Exhaustion perks. IN FACT, every single Survivor perk will be banned. Skill Check Ruin will come back, alongside pre-totem NOED. Dead by Daylight will become a fighting game between all the different Killers, no Survivors allowed.
Also yeah we're still nerfing Pig, sorry.
-
Once we have taken over Dead by Daylight, we shall take over the world!
-
You can't take 20 aura reading perks. You can only take 4.

Depends on the situation. It is very difficult to stun him with a pallet while dashing and I am not talking about the timing here like in case of Bubba. I can clearly see the animation but I find myself on the other side with Weskus pushing me to the pallet.
Wesker has a wide range of bugs that can either benefit him or hurt him. It's kind of crazy how broken he is.
Grabbing people through pallets, bouncing off of people who are clearly vaulting windows, sliding past survivors, sliding past walls while carrying a survivor, throwing people past walls (or hitting people on nothing), getting a bound cut short by literally nothing, sometimes dropping a survivor for no reason.
The only way he's broken is in a technical sense, and in that case he very much is.
-
"extremely large grab hit boxes"
Do you even play Wesker? The amount of times you brush right past a Survivor or even bounce off them would be funny if it wasn't super infuriating.
-
I honestly don't know why it has an Injured requirement. Make it work while Healthy and it'd be at least useable.

It's not a good idea to mindgame a bot either way, they basically have walls, but are programmed to be kinda stupid outside of that.
