Honestly Thwack as a whole is just a completely flawed perk. It gives you information when you often don't need information because you're already chasing someone. Even when it had the aura reading it was really only any good on ranged killers and even then if you want aura reading in chase there are other perks that are better.
Either way, the perk is weaker than it was before the update and it needs a change. If nothing else, keep the tokens, revert the range back to 32 meters and add back the aura reading, so at least it is actually a better perk than it was before.
Honestly, the effect was actually pretty decent before, it just didn't activate enough. It let you keep track of nearby Survivors, see where the Survivor you were chasing was running towards, AND prevented blinds at pallets due to the scream.
I ran it a lot on Singularity because it works somewhat well on him (or at least did before it was bugged) and I like running bad perks for the fun of it, but the issue with the perk wasn't the effect itself, it was the steep requirement in comparison.

Good idea, actually.

So better fogwise is the idea? Nah.
No? Fogwise can activate multiple times over the course of a repair. Poised you'd have to go and touch a different generator.
Even with this buff idea Fogwise would still be better imo.

Mori is now hatred. The system is encouraging getting 4K and it's bad. Should the killer go for love and cuddles?
Are you two Sweet Baby Inc. employees? What is some people's obsession with Sweet Baby Inc??? 99% of the time someone brings it up they're basically guaranteed to have weird takes.
I think OP's point is asinine but it's still a weird thing to bring up either way.

Honestly I'm not too sad about hug tech being gone considering his collision is remotely consistent now. I'd be lying if I said I didn't kinda miss it though, and I don't think it should've been removed.
However, stuff like double fatigue, back bumping and crouch tech still being in the game is wild. It needs to be fixed urgently.
-
The red screen might be good as a closing out effect.
I miss the SFX with the last Survivor Standing mechanic honestly. The increased FOV was a cool mechanic too.

It censored the letter "s" for me two days ago.
Literally just the letter s!!!!!

I do not think this video is exposing an actual issue at all, it's complete hyperbole.
Agreed.

Yeah, he's not the killer for everyone. He requires a lot of quick thinking and mechanical skill. Like, the amount of actions you have to do in order to use your power is leagues higher than most killers.
It's why I like playing him, though, I can get really into a flow state with all of the things you need to do all at once. It's great, but he's undeniably really hard to pick up (which isn't a bad thing, that's just how it is).
-
Are you seriously complaining about Corrective Action?
-
Oh god I don't want him to be in the bin for another month ;w;
-
Yeah, I think there should be some special locker spawns just for Dredge. Some maps are just flat out abysmal for him.
-
They've said they can't remove it because it's still "technically possible".
-
Who wants to let OP know that this would've been an escape even without the buff…

Was the "not being able to wake up from skillchecks"- addon before or after the rework?
After.
If you weren't able to wake up from skill checks then if all 4 survivors were asleep there'd be genuinely no way to wake up. Alarm Clocks weren't a thing back then. It was either fail a skill check or find an awake survivor.

The timing of the invisibility is exactly what made the survivors be able to get away without you getting a hit every single time. And without an addon, they could just wake themselves up with a failed skillcheck. There was no special, or "different" learning curve, because he was just a m1 killer, but far worse. His addons is what made his power, if I recall correctly, being asleep didn't even slow down gens or heals by default? Or maybe it did. But without the pink addon it was easy to wake yourself up. And if the survivor wasn't asleep you had to forget about ambushing them.
Being asleep gave a 50% action speed penalty to basically everything. Gens, heals, totems, gates, chests, the lot.
None of his Pink addons had anything to do with making it harder to wake up either. There was a Green, Yellow and Brown addon that reduced Skill Check chances while asleep however.

Yeah I wouldn't post that publically if I were you.

Well the slugged survivor could Unbreakable themselves up or something then get those survivors off the hook. So once again removing gameplay from the game.
They've already removed these kind of plays for the last person standing, where does it end?
The mori is not automatic. It'd essentially be the same as the killer picking them up and hooking them anyway.

I'd rather see STBFL be better again.
I think Sloppy is largely fine.

I gotta say that's a hot take for sure. Old Freddy was easily the most dogshit killer this game has ever seen in my opinion. He was a m1 killer, and he couldn't even hit people instantly when you found them. The only real "power" he had was his addons.
His power was in the info and slowdown you got, combined with his smaller TR made it very easy to ambush people from unexpected directions. Keeping people asleep let you keep on top of the game as well as giving you perfect info.
If you were advanced and knew the timings of the invisibility by heart, you could use that as a chase power. Think Sadako but better.
He was a very macro orientated killer that was weaker in chase than a lot of killers, and I think people struggled to adapt to his unique playstyle. However, I really don't think he was bad, I and a lot of other dedicated Freddy mains could make him very effective.
He was undeniably hard to pick up, though, which I think was the main contributor to his reputation. If you played him like just an M1 killer with a 7 second waiting time to hit someone, then you'd struggle a lot. He had a lot of different fundamentals than the rest of the killers.

Yeah, it's kind of a shame when it's supposed to be a dramatic end to a trial but in a lot of cases it just ends up being a pain waiting around.

I believe that this is part of a convoluted plot to raise Nurses killrate to such lofty hights, that they can warrant a big nerf to her in order to safe the game and minimize the pissed off long-time players.
I mean hell, if it means Nurse gets a nerf and Wraith gets at least one good teachable then I'm all for it.
-
Yeah, the thwack changes were really misguided.
It doesn't need a token system. If Nowhere to Hide can exist in its current state, then I don't really see anything wrong with thwack being active all the time. It actually has a tell as to when Survivors are being revealed too.

@Ayodam said:
You could probably alleviate most of those issues by playing in a SWF. Not even a cracked SWF; just a group of likeminded players who want to win.
Yeah I've mostly given up on playing solo during peak times.
At off-peak times you're a lot more likely to get competent teammates in my experience, but once it goes past like ~5PM then you're outta luck.
SWFing is a good guarantee that you won't have a game ruined by a teammate instantly going next though. At least most of the time.
-
Effective, but I wouldn't say it's OP.
Leverage is somewhat easy to counter I think, powering through it should not be done. Either get another person to help heal or wait out the 30s.
Healing under the hook through Leverage is quite literally the worst thing you can do. Once people learn not to do that, it might become less effective, but I'm glad the perk is at least useable now.
-
Vanishing Box was lowkey busted, but yeah 80% is too large a penalty I think. Maybe 40% would be ok but I think 20% would be too low.
I would love to see the entirety of old Blurry Photo made basekit as well, it's a must-run and needed to be integrated into its basekit entirely.
-
I mean it doesn't make sense for Survivors to be cut in the torso with a chainsaw without getting split in half either. Not everything needs to make perfect logical sense, that's a poor argument for balancing.

The answer is Freddy. Pill Bottle is a purple add on. One of his ultra rares only blocks exits if the survivor is asleep. His other ultra rare just gives him a power. 3 add ons are dedicated to changing snares to dream pallets.
Pre-rework Pill Bottle was so peak… I miss it.

It's between Freddy and Pyramid Head I think.

not as solo, but if its an SWF and 3 use an Aura read perk and one openhanded, think i think it might be.
It's just so clunky to use, not worth it. It also doesn't have enough range to be used as a free callout machine like old Object was (which is a good thing but still).
Like, maybe you COULD stand still at a loop nearby a chase, but chases are always moving, so the effect it would have would be limited. It also ties up a second survivor in the chase essentially, which kills gen efficiency.
They need to reduce the activation time to 2.5-3 seconds imo.

Sorry that this happened - we've switched off new accounts being able to join the forum temporarily, to ensure security.
It's frankly disgusting and that person (clearly a previous banned account), is not someone that should ever be allowed on the internet!
It's not as simple as not being able to post images unfortunately as there is very many ways to get around that (links etc), and then it would have to be for everyone not just new accounts (due to the forum set up which is out of our control to change).
Again our deepest apologies to everyone who was forced to see those imagines :(
Mandy
The fact that the platform doesn't allow for relatively basic moderation capabilities such as disallowing new accounts from embedding/posting images or making new threads is kind of unacceptable in this day and age. It should not be a difficult thing to do with group permissions.
This is not an isolated incident and is a massive flaw in the forums, basically anyone with the will to stomach looking at these kinds of images (and the lack of empathy to do so) has the power to do this.
This needs to be prevented from happening in the future.

I have tried that combo. Not worth 2 perk slots imo.

Also I'd also enter an otherworldly fog/torment dimension just to see my "best friend" (see: girlfriend) again.

its pretty strong to be able to tell the team where the killer is at all times.
I mean, it's not "all times", it's only in a range of 40m.
It also requires you to become as useful as one of the Yamaoka rocks to do so.

Honestly no idea. I reported it as a bug and it was marked "Need More Info" and kind of left there even after I updated the bug report.

its already in the game, its called Still Sight, pair it with Open handed and it gets really strong, especially in an SWF with voice communication.
Still Sight requires you to stand still. Premonition wouldn't.
(also Still Sight kinda sucks, 4 seconds to activate is kinda steep)

But then what is the point of Scene Partner? The perk should rather get a rework to do something else useful
Scene Partner would reveal the killer's aura for a significantly longer time.
It's also getting buffs soon so we don't know what the perk will be like in a few months.

Old Freddy was a genuinely good killer, it's just people couldn't play around his weaknesses when playing him.

Object of obsession is not a counter. It gives you problems when you are the obsession. Your aura is automatically revealed to the Killer for 3 seconds every 30 seconds. It increases your chances of being the obsession and if you are not, you can become it just by pure luck with Friends Till the End. It is too unpredictable and it is not worth revealing your aura just for the killer to find you.
It is a counter though, like a very good counter. I'm very sorry if you don't have the skills to handle having your aura maybe periodically revealed, but it's undeniable how good Object is against Weave, it lets you exploit the perk against the killer, since you can control where you drop items.
Dropping a medkit at shack against a killer with Weave and you have Object is insanely good for you.

Until such time as those changes are rolled out, my point is valid. No offense, but i'll reserve judgement until after the changes are finalized and released. As they are now, Franklin's Weave is absolutely broken.
Personally, i don't roll distortion because i like the back and forth the comes from a good chase. I see what they're going for by having survivors engage in a chase to get tokens back, but with so many ways to reveal auras it's just too easy to overwhelm even the proposed version of Distortion to uselessness.
Well, those Distortion changes will likely be out in a couple of weeks, so not long to wait. I can imagine it'll help Survivors who aren't very good at chase a ton.
Franklin's/Weave wasn't exactly well countered by Distortion either way pre-nerf, considering it eats up tokens extremely fast. The better counter in this case is Object of Obsession, since it's unlimited and gives you aura reading on the killer in return.

For the record, there are only five killers in the game who do *not* have an aura reading add-on. All other killers have at least one.
- Bubba
- Pig
- Deathslinger
- Onryo
- Knight
There are 17 perks that allow for aura reading perks, and there is no way for the survivor to definitively know their aura has been revealed, outside of using "Distortion". 3 of the top 6 killer perks reveal auras (nightlight.gg/perks), with Lethal Pursuer leading the way with it's extra 2 seconds of reveal time for *every* Aura reading perk/add-on. This may not sound like much, but a lot of add-ons are only 2-4 seconds, meaning Lethal Pursuer adds 50-100% extra time.
This doesn't even account for broken combos such as Franklin's Weave, which is infinite Aura reading unless you happen to find where an item was dropped.
Distortion was the only tool for survivors who aren't good in chase to have some buffer of safety at the cost of increased pressure on other survivors in the lobby who didn't run distortion. People who are in good in chase will benefit from this change if they used distortion, but they likely don't run it since they can take care of themselves.
Distortion is getting buffed and Weave is getting nerfed, so your point isn't really all that valid. 15 seconds to charge a token means it'll still have plentiful Tokens even for Survivors who are bad at chase, it'll be hard to NOT get at least 1 Distortion token in a chase.

The perk is broken in 2 different senses. It's overpowered and NOT easy to counter, and its bugged. So you are doubly wrong. I basically consider any killer who brings the franklins weave combination, even before it was bugged, as having the same mentality as a cheater. If we're going to let killers have all the most broken ######### imaginable then bring back buckle up for the people, bring back the bugged potential energy. With this new update Bhvr. has.made the game even more killer sided and I don't see how Bhvr. will get the message unless survivors stop playing or just start killing themselves on first hook every game.
Running perks means you have the same mentality as a cheater?
Who's your yoga teacher? You're REALLY good at stretching.
-
@Crowman said:
Killers still only have 4 perk slots. Most aura reading perks still see practically no use. Weave is already slated for changes.
Plus Distortion is already confirmed to get a buff to charge tokens in 15 seconds in chase instead of 30 seconds.
Overall, survivors will be fine.
Yeah, the argument that there's "too many aura reading perks" really doesn't make sense to me. You're only ever going to see 4 at most in a game.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
a buff that only makes swf stronger. if it works for allies than it becomes wall-hack on killer like scout class in 2vs8.
It would reveal the killer's aura to the user for a single second.
Not really comparable to the Scout passive even remotely. Also not really any more effective to a SWF than a regular callout.
-
@HolyDarky said:
Scene Partner does this already. Thus you scream when the killer aura gets revealed but that is a fair trade.
Yeah, I guess. If Premonition had a very short aura reading duration it'd be a stealthier alternative, though.
-
@Khastrx said:
I don't get how this is different to many other perks that reveal the killers aura. Dark Sense, Fogwise, Object etc, what would make this perk unique?
It'd be when you looked in the Killer's direction when they're close on a cooldown.
It'd function the same as current Premonition, it'd just be a bit more precise.
