let’s make it so the last survivor gets to spawn a hatch at their current location. Let’s see how much killers like that.. killers get gifted everything in this simulator.

Please, go play killer for a LONG while, then come back and type the same thing.

Before the mori stuff I usually don't gift survivors with a free exit, 'cause when the match goes wrong for me as a killers, survivors leave me nothing, just waiting at the the exit for tbagging.

In my opinion (i'll try to not be offensive) survivor players only are just spoiled. Explore the game from both sides (consistently), you'll see the game in a different light, trust me.

  • That's why this forum exists. Wonderful idea.

Well it makes you look weird. The types of people who reference Sweet Baby Inc. like that are usually the same types that get in a tizzy whenever there's minorities in video games, from my experience.

Well, I think it's far more weirder assuming things on people judging them by a simple joke. But you know, points of view and stuff. Have fun bro.

What is some people's obsession with Sweet Baby Inc??? 99% of the time someone brings it up they're basically guaranteed to have weird takes.

I think OP's point is asinine but it's still a weird thing to bring up either way.

Nowadays it's just a meme bro. When there's someone who uses strong words and strong opinions about something simple like a mori, well… That's the meme.

I will not answer seriously to some silly trolling like this. You will make discussion with arguments or have fun on ur own.

I'm sorry but I'm not trolling. You chose a peculiar wording for your post, aiming for a harsh retoric that points the finger against a game mechanic and the playerbase: hatred. It's a strong word, but it's related to YOU and how YOU perceive the mori. Just you. It's how you see it. Maybe on the other side of the screen that's a cool dude who enjoy playing with others, but you chose the word "hatred".

As I said, it's a strong word. Someone already said that:

    @MechWarrior3 said:

The way this post is worded is odd. "to kill the last survivor for free"

Its not free. The killer hooked you twice. Its endgame, and you're downed….What more do you want the killer to do? What difference does it make in that moment if the killer moried you versus slappin you on a rusty hook….I mean really….

Its not free. The killer hooked you twice.

And that's true. I'm sorry, but it's true. You can carry a better mori fo course but, honestly, WHY. And btw…

    @Lentara said:

    >Its not free. The killer hooked you twice

Damn maybe u wanna read post huh? Just at first paragraph i wrote "u can be moried even when u was never hooked".

Damn maybe u wanna read post huh?

Seems pretty harsh to me as an answer of someone who wanna talk about it.

  • Mori is now hatred. The system is encouraging getting 4K and it's bad. Should the killer go for love and cuddles?

Are you two Sweet Baby Inc. employees?

  • @TheRealConsent said:

Do you want to reduce the number of generators to fix to go down to 2 as well?

I personally don't camp, but people are mixing this up. It's anti-FACECAMP, it was introduced for that reason.

And even if it wasn't, tripling the radius is dumb.

Adding a LOS factor is dumb for open maps

And BUFFING Distortion is the biggest cope ever.

If anything I hope this is a troll post and I'm naive enough to have fallen for it.

Also I don't think I need to point out how ridiculous it would be to buff a perk because a random super rare killer build that's not meta counters it.

If anything I hope this is a troll post and I'm naive enough to have fallen for it.

Trust me on this: unfortunately it's not.

  • Can't see the 4 slowdowns in any of my posts, I'm sorry. Running slowdowns is different from running 4 slowdowns, and, I repeat myself, I never say that.

  • @DeBecker said:

Its not a forced one, its going the easiest way. Good players dont have to run 4 Slowdowns. The game is just catering towards bad killer players in so many ways it became really pathetic. And maybe just 1% of this players will ever get better than average with this, but by erelying on this and several other strategies they can beat above average survivors.

'cause it's always a skill issue, right. But this, of course, applies only for killers, as usual.

There's no point in arguing here, and btw: I'm against regression buff of any kind.

    HF next.

PS: oh, I forgot: never EVER mentioned about running 4 slowdowns as a forced choice. Stop putting words in my mouth, thanks.

  • @DeBecker said:

If it is a joke, why not playing without four slowdowns and using something thats not a joke? We had the prophecies that after the latest nerfs all those perks are dead. But we still see the same old perks being used. With the same kill rates. And we still have the same situation like before, that say: people are completely reliant on those perks cause they dont nkow how to play without them.

Because without slowdowns matches are even shorter, that's why.
It's not an happy choice, it's a forced one.

    Omgs...against any group.

So what were getting ATM is that you don't want a comeback from survivors. You don't like how the game can switch from one side winning to the other (yes both sides can do this). That is what we got from this second paragraph. So we ask why not? It also semi proves that the math is never clean if things like that happen.

As we've said many times now, the killer themselves provide the variance to the time it takes survivors to do their objective. If the killer is pressuring them then the survivors will be taking longer. It's going in circles here.

We're pretty sure variance is not the best choice of words, "faster" seems accurate. This is just us being picky though.

As we've said many times now, the killer themselves provide the variance to the time it takes survivors to do their objective. If the killer is pressuring them then the survivors will be taking longer. It's going in circles here.

False, because your game view is totally survivor sided, even if you play killer (it's not the point here). The objective of the killer is to KILL. Not buying time AND/OR supply variance to survivors. The killer is not a tool, is a player like you, too ofter treated like a given service.

Yeah, gen speed is crazy, regression perks are bad for everyone, but it's mandatory or a killer will succumb in minutes (aka they'll not play at all).

  • Imagine the needs to find specific tools to repair one specific gen, like this gen requires tape, the other one requires a screwdriver, etc, all scattered around the map and droppable from survivor to survivor.

This opens new possibilities for tools aura reading perks and collaboration between survivors.

Yeah, I know, I'm asking too much.

  • Give this man a medal.

pop and pain res pre-buff were popular and the fact that they continue to be goes to show how strong they still are. That's just how people like to play man, let's be honest. Sure, some people enjoy different builds but majority of matches people will always bring the strongest stuff similar to how people load into matches knowing full well they will tunnel the first guy out or slug the entire team for the '4k'.

what is even 'gen rushing' - doing the objective? do I 'gen rush' because I don't care to do totems or chests and just do the main objective? I'm always happy to take chase, aggro or take a hit for a teammate but gen rushing is not this prevalent strategy in solo q, we are literally all loading into the match with differing views of the best way to play the match.

yeah, game needs some stuff reworked but it's insane to think gen rushing occurs at the rate that people are slugged or tunneled because that crap is nearly every other game for me in solo q (I imagine it's the same for others) and my entire team dies pretty much every game. So trust me, at least in my games we are never 'gen rushing', I think myself or my random teammates would be escaping more often if we played this efficiently

I actually AM being serious here. It's honestly the ONLY viable build atm, any other build it's, as I said, miserable.

And, let's be honest here too, as a killer stall a game and buy time it's absolutely unfun and boring. My friends and I, as killers, hate the pop pain res meta. It's just boring.

Of course it's my point of view AND the point of view of the people I know, but it's something (?). Gen rushing occurs in almost any match I play. And, again, I'm being honest here. If not occurring, survivors try to.

"But as a survivor I'm ust doing my main objective".

Sure, yeah, and here's the problem. While a survivor should repair the gens, a killer should… Kill. But atm, the killer needs to buy time, in any possible way, or shorten the match asap. The situation is so bad that people is now addicted not only to regression perks, but to slugging and tunneling. Years ago it was addressed as unfair. Now? It's normal. And it's a shame.

We can't be straightforward here. It's not "yes" or "no", and I'm not even saying "yeah, gens are too fast tune it down". There's something at the core that's not working anymore and should be fixed.

People just adapt to something broken worsening the situation, both sides.

  • @dwight444 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/424175/generators-need-another-10-seconds-added

killers load into matches knowing full well they will play in a scummy manner so that's irrelevant

pop and pain res got nerfed like 5% each and are still popular alone or while being ran together

hook sabos are easier, sure, yet I don't encounter any more games now with sabo teammates than I did pre sabo buff; in other words, it is still a rare sighting for 1 teammate or a group to come with sabo builds . If they do, well, we prob already lost since they'll just be spectating every chase hoping for a save and most are dumb enough to get spotted, get hit and still linger around leading to 2 people downed now

gens fly fastest during the start of the match. If you're bringing pain res (we know you are) and aren't able to get value before 2 gens fly then that's a you problem

pop and pain res got nerfed and still popular 'cause it's the only wait to play atm, any other build sucks hard and feels miserable.

Instead of saying just "no" and assuming that someone is using some perks, widen your point of view. The game needs a massive rework in many aspects, and yes, genrushing IS a problem as much as slugging and tunneling.

It's not "his problem", it's a problem for everyone, both sides.

  • Hi, PC player here. Meet two cheaters in 4 years.

    Cheers.

  • @Junylar said:

What else are they supposed to do if there are 4 gens left? There is no come back mechanic for survivors in the game, so the most optimal strategy for each survivor would be to wait for their teammate to die and then take the hatch/gates. They were playing the most optimal strategies each for the given situation, but I understand this kind of thing might be difficult to understand if you never play soloQ survivor.

Yeah who cares about the dude playing the killer that just wants to play, right?

There are in almost every scenario 3-4 hooks in range of you when you pick a survivor up. Unless you greed for a very far hook, even if someone sabos, 90% of the time a hook is right nearby that you can still reach anyways. The reality is sabo heavily punishes killers who run scourge, and this drives them up a wall. So to sum this up, if you aren't running scourge 90% of the time, a sabo build won't actually do anything.

Here is something you probably aren't away about, the sabo time is still too long to get a sabo and take a hit. So if the killer is close enough you are in most cases trading to sabo. Making it once again, not worth doing.

Sabo really only shines in games where all 4 people are in on it. And the more we design games around SWF and killer, the more people will continue to look for other games.

Whatever makes you sleep at night bro.

Anyway, back on topic, I understand the frustration of survivors too. So I have to vote up for OP myself. Unfortunately, you can fix the game as much you want, but (unfortunately) people will be people, whatever their role in the game is.

  • @Jaredleto1234 said:

Killers throw a hissy fit the second the game doesn't go there way. Want proof? Do a sabo build for one game.

Anyone saying the game is harder on killer is FOS, the last two years has had the highest average killrates ever. The game could not be easier on killer. I can 4k on trapper (perceived as the worst killer) as many times in a row as I want.

"Run a Sabo build, it's easy!"

"I can play the trapper and go for 4k as many times I want, it's easy!"

Those two statements can't coexist, but thanks to gave me (the FOS person) the opportunity to show the others what a killer have to deal with: you chase someone, it takes time and sweat, you finally down them, and then someone arrives in front of you, sabotage the hook and now you're just stuck, everything was useless, your main objective is negated and you can't do nothing to little about it.

I'm waiting to see your stream of endless winstreak with the trapper.

PS: it's spelled "their", not "there". I'm a non-english person.

  • As many said before me, the game is getting more and more stressful on the killer side, where every little mistake (or unlucky events) comes with high cost.

At the moment as a killer you're literally forced to run 2+ gen regression perks JUST TO PLAY THE GAME. If you don't, the game usually ends in a bunch of minutes, and you're constantly under a lot of pressure. On the other side, as a survivor you can play more relaxed. I'm not saying it's easier, but you have a wider error margin.

It's very stressful, expecially when survivors rush.

He doesn't really have one, Art is kinda lacking something that makes him stand out. Someone like Ghost Face doesn't really have a unique thing either, but he at least found a place in DBD via being the stealthiest killer in the game.

Its getting a little hard at this point to come up with something new that doesn't make Art a carbon copy of someone else... wouldn't be against him coming to DBD, but ideas are starting to get a little thin on the ground 🤔

His bag. Art have his bag full of gross and sharp things. His power should be in his bag, getting a random weapon with different powers and use.

Because it's a 4v1. Survivors being able to constantly delay chases with the ability to vault cancel would drag chases on for even longer than they already are, in a state of DBD where even quick chases lose the Killer a generator or two.

So no, it's not a "if they get this, I get that" deal. Killers need to be able to cancel their animations and do small fakeouts in order to add counterplay to the uncounterable bs stuff Survivors can manipulate (and do so more than ever in this era of DBD)

Manipulate and abuse, locking you, as a killer, in a blind state, usually twice, freezing yourself on the spot (aka "not playing", which is literally insane in a game if you ask me) for many seconds.

Btw, in a chase the chased have the initiative, while the chaser must act in response of the actions of the chased one. A survivor can fake vaults ALREADY, not by cancelling animations, but just by mindgaming, and canceling animations will even be counterproductive most of the time (for the survivor). And please don't answer me by saying that "killers can mindgame too already", 'cause we're not talking about this.

In the last, I dunno, two years maybe? DBD gave survivors a lot of stuff trying to balance the game, making their basekit richer and releasing very strong perks (and nerfing them later). I'm not saying that this isn't right, but that, as Onyx said, it's not "if they get this, I get that". If for the sake of balance (which is actually impossible to truly reach) then yes, one side should obtain something without giving the other nothing.

I'll close this post saying this: it's not "us against them". I'm a killer as I'm a survivor. Every player is a potential killer/survivor. We're player playing the same game. If we start with this at every topic, every post and even every match, DBD will be much different (and it will not need any type of babysitting features).

  • @_Onyx_ said:

Indeed, it's a really good one. What's your reasons for liking it?

It opens the gate of many more mindgames and create many possibilities for killers, but for survivors too seeking counter measures and the game becomes eventually more dynamic and fresh. I think this is the main reason.

  • Tru3 had a wonderful idea and I absolutely dig it for many reasons.

  • Wander around the map, break doors, pallets or whatever you left. If there's nothing left, just alt+tab and do whatever you like, go on Youtube, read the news, anything. If they want to waste your time, let them waste their.

There's no need to a new feature here, just don't take it too personal, let it slide.

  • As I said in another topic: just make this game survivor only and use AI killers. I can't really stand players cry for anything a killer do or don't, asking always for more buffs and basekit and nerfs. Playing killer make yourself in the position to be the bad guy, if you play well or not, if you "win" or "lose", whatever you do, you're always wrong, in any case.

Playing killer is so frustrating right now, it's honestly unbearable.

  • @fulltonon said:

This is not a trolling and I'm 100% sure this will fix tunneling.

As I said in another thread, just make this game survivor only and use AI killers. I can't really stand crying survivors anymore, playing killer is just frustrating and you always be the bad guy, socially speaking, whatever you do.

  • At this point just remove the killer role and make this game survivor only with AI killers. It's honestly unbearable to see survivors complain about everything a killer do and/or use and call it "toxic".

I think your opinion that it should be normal that all 5 Gens are completed is not really the most popular one.

That aside, my main point was that Killers get rewarded regardless how bad they did. Going down to NOED against a good Killer is not really that frustrating. But going down against that Killer which is just outright bad, IS frustrating. (And this happens because of the 4% Movement Speed, which people like to downplay... But when MfT gave 3% it was the worst thing ever)

    Rewarded how?

Before you go saying punishing this action isn't a good idea or that survivors aren't punished, yes they are. Survivors can only vault the same window over and over, the entity "punishes" survivors for using the same window.

So why can't the entity block the hooks when you're trying to hook the same survivor consecutively?

This is why survivors become toxic later on btw.

Killer main here: I don't tunnel like... Ever. Don't like it, never liked it. The game punish me for this most of the time.

Ok, sounds fair. At the same time let the killer bypass survivors that bodyblocks doors and passages to save teammates.

    Thanks.

EDIT: Before the flame starts, I'm ironic. Basement is not a safe place and I hope it will never be. And even if I find annoying how survivors bodyblocks the killer, I'm not REALLY suggesting this possibility.

  • As I said here (Lights out is fun and the reason the perk system has to go — BHVR) I'm totally fine with this. A skill system is better than the actual perk system, and more sustainable in the long run. If you continue to add more and more perks in the pool, the game will be progressively difficult to balance, not to mention it will be redundant.

But most people are fine with perks alone, so it is what it is.

look, you and the other guy can believe whatever you want about my actual anxiety related condition (formication) and whether or not the game should have changes or not because of it, but you cannot claim that we should accept it because "it's horror, you picked up the horror game you should be okay with every horror trope ever". besides the fact this isn't a horror trope, because it's not horror, that's just a really irresponsible thing to say to someone you know has a very clear issue with something for a very valid reason? idk. i just feel kinda disgusted with this thread. i am blatantly being lied to and am being told to accept things because "horror game lol". it's just gross. have your opinion on accessibility features all you guys want, but leave the lies out of it.

Never mentioned your anxiety. I'm just saying that what you're talking about it's body horror, and it's a horror genre. I'm sorry about your anxiety, I truly am, but that skin IS horror and in specific it's body horror, that's it.

this isn't... horror, though. it's just "haha the skin has bugs xD"

like, the skin doesn't SCARE me, it just makes me uncomfortable and (i hate using this word but it's the most accurate descriptor i can think of right now) it triggers my formication. i'm not IN FEAR when i see the skin. if you're going to be snarky, at least understand what the people are saying first before you come replying to the thread. i get you're probably not here for an actual discussion, but the least you could do is not be provocative and rude to people who go through things you don't go through. the least you could do is just not reply if you don't understand and have an inkling to be rude.

    It's body horror.

  • People play Lights Out like they normally play DBD. Sure, it needs some adjustments and balancing and you're absolutely right, it favors the killer atm, but the main problem is the lack of mental flexibility of a lot of players. It's not the same usual DBD, it's different.

  • @SidJflex said:

I'm just going to be honest with you man as the person that plays survivor and that hates the killer Side Lol. The "Deja Vu" Perk is the solution. Deja Vu shows you the three generators that are closes to each other and also gives you a 6% speed boost. So as a survivor you target the three generators that are closes so at the end of the game when it's just three generators they'll spaced out. Most time survivors do the generators on the outside of the darn stage to avoid the killer. What that does is makes the stage smaller for a killer that's faster than the survivors. Making it easier for the killer to patrol three generators that are super close to each other. The generators in center must be completed first if possible. Meaning the area that the killer will be running is wider in order to check the generators towards the end of the Match.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KA58T19HS4DT/screenshot-20240211-103942-chrome.jpg

Someone finally said it, but of course you'll be not listened at all, 'cause you're telling them to stop running the strongest perks to loop the killer over and over and over, asking for the entire game to change to let them do it, instead of playing a role in a team and help the survivors follow one of the main objective they have: gen management.

But well said man, well said. I'm with you.

  • Well I said what I felt to say. c: I can understand the point of view of everyone against this, but, as my last answer, I'll ask you to be less conservative about the game and more open to possible and radical game changes, for the benefits of the game itself. I can be wrong btw, but until I can't see it fail, for me, this is a good idea.

Nothing stopping you from playing without perks now. I do it sometimes.

It's not the same thing and not what I talked about.

If you want unique abilities for survivors I'd suggest playing Identity V. That's basically guaranteed to never happen in DBD.

Oh, thanks! I was interested in that game several years ago, I'll follow your tip!

If you want to remove perks, than every survivor needs to have their own skills. Like a champion we choose to play

Absolutely yes, that's wait I said from the start. Works on shooters, works on mobas, it should work on DBD too.

ain't no way bro said perks gotta go

this the guy tunneling you off hook

Lol I wish you a killer like me ten times in a row, so you're gonna get toxic-free games and maybe even easy wins (?).

The game would be boring without any perks. The fun in this game is using different builds.

How many builds are actually used in game?

DBD lacks in roles and it doesn't identifies survivors at all. Imagine a STRONG survivor basekit to counter tunneling and one unique ability for each survivor that makes them special and give them a specific purpose in game. I'm not saying that tunneling is not a problem in Lights Out (or in game in general) and I condemn every killer (no, let me correct myself, every player) that abuse any single game mechanic flaw to ruin the fun of others. That's why I'm saying this: without all the variabilies that the perk systems brings, problems are easier to solve, and it's even more sustainable in the long run.

Perks are a lot of what make the game fun, imo. Even if some of them are too strong at times, or annoying, I'd rather have a game with perks than without. It'd get stale quick if they were removed.

Also Perks are like a significant part of each DLC's content. You can't fully remove them as that would remove content people had paid for.

It's fine as a modifier but removing Perks from the base game as a whole is out of the question entirely.

That's why I talked about unique ability/abilites for survivors, just like the killers.

No perks = tunneling. Lights Out made this VERY clear.

Then we can work out a solution, as I said: it's easier without perks. And as I said, again: no perks BUT unique abilities.

  • I had sincere and complete fun without any kind of frustration for the first time after I don't even know how much. The total absence of any kind of loadout is absolutely brilliant in my opinion.

    Raw gameplay is so fun.
