  • No one notice that the killer doesn't project any red stain?

Yeah that was always the case with shadowborn. Now it's just basekit IF you want. How convenient.

Yes exactly, "survivors screwed up because they rushed their objective." But killers "done good" when they tunneled at 5 gens. They are the exact same thing. Objectives being rushed.

Surivors exploiting loops? You meaning playing correctly? Must be tough.

And that's why I said "it's their right". c: For this legit right, 1 of 5 people didn't actually play, didn't enjoy the game and quitted a little while later. This game, like everything in life, have it's problems. As a player (and a killer) I think is my responsability to play fairly as much as I can to let people have fun and play the game too.

If you rush (and justify rushing) you're justifying the killers that tunnels, slugs and 3 gens from the start, 'cause you're doing the exact same things, I already said that. Of course it's your right to use a map badly designed (three times in a row) against the killer, doesn't mean it's healthy for the game or fair for the other player (the killer) in the same measure as it's not right to tunnel a survivor right from the start and not letting them have fun at all.

Even if we play against each other, we play together. That's what I'm saying from the start. If the game lacks of balance, you can intervene as a player, playing with and for the others. But, as I said before, if you fight fire with gasoline... You got toxic games with toxic people and toxic matches. c: That's it, and that's all.

    GLHF!

  • Rushing and 3 gen are completely different things, if you rush and end with three gens (aka "you screwed up") you chose the shortest way to make points with minimum risks. You're just confirming that it's not the only way to win, but the easiest way to "try to win" and you're part of the problem, like every killer that slugs, tunnels etc because you're shortening the match to seek victory, just like them.

You're just fighting the fire with gasoline.

PS: yesterday I played three games with Chucky. High MMR. Big maps, Chucky is slow, gens all over the place. I'm not a killer that tunnels or proxy camps or 3 gens or whatever. Survs rushed anyway, exploiting (it's their right, right?) every single safe loop of the map, with the shack right in the center that made playing impossible with good survivors. Short games, I didn't have fun 'cause I didn't play. Quitted and switched to The Finals, a little frustrated, but chill, I know myself and I know the game. Until this game is seen like a competitive sport and not just a game played with others (the killer too, yes) then we'll always have problems and no update will change the situation. It's not a problem of the game. It's just... People will be people. Just don't be the people, it'll help.

You forgot the part where that‘s the only way to win right now. How is it deserved, when it’s a guaranteed loose if I stop doing it!? I already loose over 70% of my games, when playing survivor.

It's not. It's the easieast way, and doing it means justify killers that shortens the match by using any means. It's a dog chasing his tail. Btw, what do you mean with "winning"? Make points? Staying alive as long as you can? Escape? Escape all 4?

Killers need to play too, if you find the easiest way to shorten the game, expect the killer to do the same. I'm not justifying it.

While 3 gens can be a result of survivors rushing their objective, if a killer does the same ie tunneling then it's considered a valid strategy and even endorsed.

If the killer decides to rush their objective they are rewarded with an easy win, if the survivors compensate by rushing gens then they are punished.

If the game had built in comms then I would agree the survivors are at fault.

I missed the point where rushing is punishable.

  • Hi, I'm killer main. Before complaining about all this new gen thingy I'm gonna try it on the field, maybe it's a good thing, maybe it's not and time will tell, but let me be honest here:

If survivors end the game with three close gens together, they screwed up. Map management (and gen management) it's one of the main objective of the game and, as a survivor, you gotta pay attention to that.

Not to mention that you actually CAN end a 3 gen situation. You can. Happened countless time to me, but of course it's better to avoid to end like that.

Survivors can't tap gens, ok, understood. Will the maps shrink then? 'cause most killers can't even cover 3 gens and survivors will repair generators in seconds.

To be fair, I'm worried about this update. I'm gonna try that, then judge, but as I said: 3 genning is mostly a survivor's fault, let's face it.

EDIT: for those who say "it's easy", do you play as killer or do you die as survivor? Just asking.

  • Gen management should be a survivors business. As a survivor, if you end with three gens close together, you screwed up.

I can't understand why, as a killer, I need three brains to guess and calculate an enormous amout of things on (and off) screen, and survivors can't live with the idea of NOT LEAVING THE THREE GENS CLOSE TOGETHER UNTOUCHED BEFORE DOING THE OTHERS. Am I the only one?

  • I feel terrible about everyone talkin' about toxicity and not about how the killers will be in trouble against a potential SWF 4x in every match.

Imagine logging into DBD after work to try to relax and these are the survivors you get lmao

    Story of my life.

It's always the people yapping about "survivor mains" that provide the worst arguments.

Are we not meant to complain that we have to guess wether a killer is doing an M2? Every other killer has clear indication of using their special ability, just not this killer. Guessing just leads to lose/lose situations. There is no sound cue or visual cue for this ability so I don't know which game you're playing.

Stop being a silly killer main 😡

Same goes for survivor mains, that argument with "skill issue" every thread that concerns survivor perks. Instead of point the finger on me being a silly killer, read between the lines: Xeno is a new killer and people need to learn to play with and against it. Maybe - maybe - it requires some GUESSING, and in this case you can't complain about it, 'cause guessing it's a part of the game, consistently present in every killer playstyle.

That's it. Nothing silly. Then, time will tell.

  • What I find really funny it's survivor mains complain about GUESSING what the killer is gonna do (even with clearly signals aka "animation") while reading - and using - the environment, calculating distance and timing of their own actions.

Welcome to a tiny little part of the killers' side, HF. <3

I disagree. It’s the least she could receive in compensation considering what they did to her addons especially the amulet my god is it awful now sigh…

As a Spirit main, she may need a more accurate spatial audio, but no buff at all. She's fine as she is right now.

  • Wait: is the "killers strike" really impacting game queues?

  • @dbdthegame said:

Is 8 minutes supposed to be fast? Most of my games have gens done in 4-5 minutes even with gen regression perks.

This. I think my shortest match was around 6 mins.

out perked makes no sense. every game is 4 perks vs 16 perks. he is being out skilled as he has trouble playing the killer he selected.

Did you see the part of the video where he said that was the seventh game in a row facing very similar builds?

yes. that is called meta. every game has one.

You can't use that math here. He's not talking about the max number of the perks (you're talking like there's only one survivor with 16 perks against a killer with 4, it doesn't even makes sense) but the effect that the perks give at every specific survivor (so, yeah, 4).

I'm in the same situation: I used to find this game fun and interesting (with good results, btw) now it's just boring and frustrating (the reason I stopped playing) 'cause as a killer you're forced to longer and pointless chases, while survivors just genrush the map and don't even let you play.

Read me here: they don't let you play the game (yeah, like killers camping and tunneling, exactly).

Having a meta is fine. But the meta should be as fair as possible. Right now, the meta (for survivors) is not, giving a hard time even to experienced killers (just search for infos, there's plenty). You're talking about an entire pandemic build focus on endurance and haste that kicks in only when injured (that means that the killer did well, but the survivor is rewarded). MfT is completely invisible, you don't know it's there and this single element changes EVERYTHING. It's a matter of inches, when you swing your attack and you fail 'cause there's a 3% haste effect that you don't really know it's there. It's like DH all over again.

A single perk that gives you TWO of the BEST effects in the game. TOGETHER. It's meta? Sure. It's frustrating, gamebreaking and even humiliating (yes, humiliating) for the killer? Absolutely.

Right now, as a killer, you have to chase faster survivors doing their things faster, and hit them three times to get a single down, for a match that lasts like... 5~7 minutes?

If the meta for survivors (as I stated before) turns the killer (a player, just like the survivors) in a tool for the fun of others, then the game is broke. And trust me: it's the situation we're living right now. And it's even more complicated that this.

Do not summarize all this situation in "it's meta" or "skill issue" because it's not. Just go on Youtube or Google and see that yourself. Btw, a game that focus on cooperation should emphatize diversity in builds. Having 4 survivors running the same build and being rewarded for being injured (aka mistakes or the killer playing well) it's just disarming and completely out of focus for a game like DBD.

  • Just DON'T PLAY KILLER until things are getting better. Leave the "skill issue" players wait in the lobby with their absolute and unargued truth.

  • Go for the break bro. I'm doing it already. I love this game and respect the devs and other players, but at this moment, as a killer, the game is unplayable.

I honestly think that others should do the same. Let the survivors stay in the lobby longer, do not play until the situation is getting better, but at this moment DO NOT PLAY KILLER.

    Play survivor if you want.

  • Camping can be easily countered by survivors, maybe it needs a little cooperation but they're 4v1 (just use numbers) and they really have enough to take over the killer.
