  • It better be an actual issue and not because of the stupid meme. I refuse to buy it until they put the voice line back. please get a spine, behaviour. On the upside, pinhead received a minor buff since he doesn't say anything when he teleports, just a bell sound

clap pretty good job so far 🤣

  • the chains can break from:

    1) The environment

    2) Other survivors running into them

    3) Pinhead running into them

    Title.

I just would like to know. They were fitting (a citation from the movie) and they gave more indication when the killer teleported.

    So, why remove them?

Theory 1: Some TTV people were complaining about chat doing a gatchiBASS emoji every time pinhead said "I Came" and found it annoying.

Theory 2: It might have been a teaser for putting voice line(s) in the store as part of cosmetic costumes, not 100% sure if that's true but if it is I draw the line there and probably won't buy the killer if that's the case.

Theory 3: Might have somehow glitched when fixing... whatever they were fixing after the PTB and I have no idea what that is because everything just seems worse... again.

Theory 4: Licensing issue which would be odd since I doubt they would have put the voice line in the PTB if that was the case.

    Theory 5: Devs hate fun

Theory 6: They were annoyed by a meme that was going around

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's the first one and that is the one I lean to the most especially if they're not going to give a reason why they removed it. They better put it back in the game without needing to spend money to get it and I am not going to buy it until they do because the killer isn't as enjoyable to play and with MMR coming out tomorrow, it's going to be a nightmare for me anyway. I honestly don't think the devs even changed anything since the PTB because it all looks the same with more bugs

  • He's ok, I have been using his power at close range and it seems to work better than activating it at long ranges because they break too fast and they can be broken which is dumb but it's whatever. I still don't think they should be able to put pallets down when they are chained. I just want to know why they took the voice line out, I liked it and it was perfectly fine.

  • I've had my FPS uncapped since 2017, I have not been banned and I have made tutorials on how to do it. It's perfectly fine.

see this kids? don't be this.

it is toxic because it's giving someone a 2min respawn timer into a 5-15min que. it's 1 person looking at that shiny game you bought, and saying "no you can't play it"

then it's always "just get good," or "just use a certain perk"

killing is not toxic, camping is. same thing in call of duty

well if you buy call of duty and you're going 0-14 someone is going to tell you to uninstall the game which is the equivalent of saying "no you can't play"

But if my teammate or your teammate is going to camp in a corner and at least be able to get some kills to help the team then they doin' what they gotta do, assuming you're playing TDM. While I do not like it and think it's an unskillful tactic and extremely annoying, I understand it. Most of the time it's a noob or a random kid sitting in the corner that can't get kills like the other 11 people are that are running around.

Solo survivor life is usually miserable, but you guys really excel on making it worse than ever.

This guy decided it was fun to keeping slugging the entire team using Infectious without hooking us ONCE. The entire game lasted for more than 20 minutes because we were constantly picking and healing us up, but thanks to the fair and balanced Alchemist Ring + Blighted Crow combo you can't even make distance anymore. My teammates were not even that bad at chases, but with these addons you basically have to feed him pallets and at some point they were gone.

How is that fair for a solo survivor? How can I comunicate for my team where the totems are? How can I coordinate pick ups?

I like to play Blight, but if one day he receives the Nurse and Billy treatment and gets a pass that makes him super unfun to play as I'll honestly be happy because you guys deserve it. At this point I'd rather go against 10 Spirits in a row because her players usually know how kind of boosted she is and don't do ######### like this.

I had a better time when MMR was on for the solo queue. I hope they add that to the game soon because the struggle is REAL right now. I don't even play survivor it's just that bad.

i still don’t even have enough skills to be a killer

but .. one day i followed the daily killer tasks .. forced me to be a killer.. it was a disaster lol .. even 1 survivor keep teabagging me whole trail .. until i finally got him .. hooked him .. i was like full camp+ tunneling him until he died from 1st hook .. in fact i downed other survivor.. but i let them live .. and escape i got 1 k that game ! do u blame me camping him?

Nope, but you can't come on the forums complaining about it if you're doing it too. Whenever they bring the MMR back, your matches will probably get better. I think the 2 weeks where you had decent killers was the week(s) MMR was on.

i was like thanks god .. no toxic killers no more

    then baaaam ... 2 matches a row ! toxic + camping! me !!

tbh ... i closed app. on 2nd time ... so killer don’t feel so proud

I bet the guy that made this forum also camps and tunnels 🤣

  • He's fine how he is right now. There are more important things that need to be looked at.

  • While I do think NOED is annoying as hell, it is still up to the survivors to cleanse the totems if they think the killer will have NOED. You can have some tell signs when a killer will most likely have it.

  • The best way to solve this would be to make graphic settings customizable in-game for FoV's or they should ban it comepletly. Either everyone has it or no one does.

Thats not how BBQ works though. Face camping killers won´t get any benefit from BBQ.

No, but new players/casuals usually swarm the hook so they'll get their stacks.

Yeah.. clearly I am the one not open for any kind of debate.

you are the one being against a system that you don’t Even know how it works and you judge it by testphases that the devs themselves said had problems.

the balancing of the game is another issue. And it won’t get fixed by the matchmaking system. But they already said they are working on new mechanics (early game collapse, key and Moro in base game reworks).

the thing is, current matchmaking is really really bad. That’s a common community complaint. And actually from any type of player. I don’t get how anyone can justify this system. And most of the arguments are just assumptions and doom saying. Nothing more.

ok, you'll see for yourself but I can already see how it's working from people talking about the MMR right here on the forums, so. Current matchmaking is also dependent on your rank. Solo queue is bad, maybe MMR will make it better but it didn't for me it actually made it worse.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422134#Comment_2422134

Wrong. Having a SBMM won´t suddenly spawn new killer players that only want to face camp. We had new, unsecure killers since the beginning of the game 5 years ago. Those new, casual killers will eventually learn that they earn way more points and have a more enjoyable match, when they don´t camp all the time.

The old system could be manipulated to easy. People would depip before free weekends to stomp new players. This will stop once the new MMR goes live.

new killers won't face camp because they're new. They're learning the game. As I have said, it's mostly the casuals, the ones that don't care about their ranks or how well they do in a match. They slap on BBQ, get their stacks, and off they go. The old system can be manipulated because all you had to do was rank or de-rank, a 6-year-old could figure it out. The new system will be the same way once someone and someone will have figured out how to do it and made a video to which all the other creators will do the same thing and then we'll be back to square 1 again.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422194#Comment_2422194

Yeah. We will see how it is… when those players won’t quit because those type of players actually want harder games.

you don’t Play competitively and are among the top-tier players and then only be happy if you get matched against noobs.

and you actually have said casual players should derank to stay in green ranks.

"Yes, it does, just stay at green ranks. You want to challenge yourself, move up in rank, don't like it? De-rank. Easy"

Is what I said and it doesn't seem like you're open for any kind of debate about this, it is clear where your mind is set. You have high hopes for the MMR whereas I do not because of the devs balancing things around casuals. Most of them play for kills, they do not care about ranking, they do not care about being good they do not care about being gen rushed.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422123#Comment_2422123

I agree. Overall though, MMR will probably be a good thing for the average player. Matches will feel more fair and games where either side stomps the other will hopefully become much rarer. Content creators will probably suffer the most. Survivor content creators will likely be ok because it's still possible to play without the meta and win as long as you and your teammates are good. Killer content creators will probably suffer hard though.

I suppose this all just stems back to the fact that its simply not possible to even consider 12 Hooking against even semi-decent teams. So of course, High MMR is likely going to be a huge mishmash of tunnelling, slugging and camping (Which people typically don't enjoy). Ironically, if playing nice and 12 hooking became a somewhat viable strategy then MMR might just be a net benefit for the whole community. The Devs wouldn't do that though so I guess we're stuck in a situation where most players will be fine but the best players will take a hit.

    agreed

  • @Mooks said:

you can manipulate it. But not as easily as you don’t know what is actually used for the calculation.

Malis my point is.. people should not have a reason for that kind of manipulation. You were arguing casuals should purposefully derank to avoid going against higher ranked players and you are trying to make a case that that kind of system is better than MMR - which you have not data and little to no experience on.

and I know the current rank doesn’t relate to skill because I can easily reach red ranks on both roles. And I am bad. Like not that ‚I’m funny in saying I am bad but actually I am pretty good‘. I am actually really bad. I can’t even run shack efficiently. And I am not boosted by teammates either. Contrary, I am playing in a 2 man swf and my partner isn’t good either.

and yes. Playtime would be terrible. But current rank system IS pretty much playtime, but it has the rank reset to even it a little bit out. That’s why we NEED another system

Other people will find the calculations for it to which people will manipulate it it's only a matter of time. I did not say casuals should purposely de-rank I said casuals don't care if they're good or bad they just want kills. We'll see how it is once the top-tier players stop playing because of all the try-hards they have to go against, then they'll make their way down the ranks again just to get games. Don't need to be efficient as a survivor, still in an SWF group, you have coms, that's an advantage. They put rank resets in so people have a purpose to come back to the game every month when they've reached rank 1. Yes, any rank system will be based on playtime. The more time you invest into a game, the better you will do and the more you will achieve, that's in every game but there is also a bit of skill to it, it's not just playing time.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422114#Comment_2422114

The old System is better because you have to manipulate your rank over several matches, screwing over every other player in said matches and then you can hope for the best?

with mmr the goal is still to play normally and you get matches against killers that you actually have a chance against. Without manipulating the rank system. That’s not what you are supposed to be doing.

there will of course be facecampers with the new system. But it won’t be only those as there will be plenty of normal players on all skill levels. With current rank based system, everyone will rank up if they play often enough/don’t derank purposefully. Current rank has pretty much nothing to do with skill. Just using time played as a matchmaking system would be better than current matchmaking.

My point is, casual killers won't care. So you're either going to play against the face camping casuals or the try-hard sluggers. Good luck. You can still manipulate the new rank system, just play poorly. The current rank system has to do with skill, idk why people say it doesn't unless you get matched up with a boosted 3-man SWF group because the pip system changes the higher the rank you are. No, playtime would be terrible.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2422114#Comment_2422114

No, this is not how the SBMMR will work for new players. They won´t get non stop face campers. So please don´t try to scare new players with this kind of claims.

On a side note, when there are such a high amount of face campers, than another problem is the root cause of that: killers feeling helpless because of the gen speeds.

False, they will get face camped because that is what casual/new players do, mostly casuals. They are only focused on kills and not actual gameplay. I also didn't say there would be non-stop face camping I said for the majority of the time (around 5 hours) there might be but that depends on how long it takes for the MMR system to collect the data. Casual survivors also don't tend to rush gens as often as the higher ranks do, they go for the saves and because of that, it makes the killer camp especially when they think their objective is to just kill, which it is in a way but it's not the only objective but casuals don't care.

  • @RoboMojo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/272147/is-it-fun-to-play-against-killer-which-you-only-stomp

Maybe, but People like winning whereas People don't like losing. So, when something is introduced that makes it harder to win then that upsets people. There is also a potential lack of variety in Killers to play against which could make things boring for top level players. Only a small handful of Killers are actually viable against good Survivor teams (Mainly Nurse, Spirit and maybe Blight). This means of course that the High MMR Killers are only going to play those Killers because if they played anyone else, it'd be a guaranteed loss. I don't think there'd be as many complaints in this regard if most of the Killer roster stood a chance against good Survivor teams. As of right now though, most Killers cannot compete with good Survivors. This isn't necessarily a bad thing considering the casual nature of the game but it obviously poses a problem for High MMR play.

I agree. MMR isn't going to be fun at the higher skill levels for both sides. The game isn't even based around skilled players it's based around casuals which only makes it worse.

  • It won't matter, you're still going to get the face campers with the MMR system anyway. Almost every game for a casual/new player will be a killer camping or tunneling and instead of being able to move out of that rank quickly, the system has to gather information to move you up or down in the system, and who knows how long that'll take. So if you're playing 5 hours against face camping killers and nothing has changed, then what? Whereas the old system, you could just rank and hope for the best. If you're on PC, I would recommend turning cross-play off, it's a much better experience but more challenging.

  • @SonicOffline said:

Real question. Isn't my objective to eliminate players when I'm on killer?

Actually, the objective as a killer is to defend the gens and get multiple hooks before killing a survivor, however, you play as you want to but know that it's not as enjoyable from a survivor's perspective, they also want to play the game too.

When I play killer, I go for multiple hooks until the survivors reach 2 gens, then I don't play so nice anymore. My goal is to have at least 2 people on death hook before then but I don't force it, I just play and go for multiple chases.

  • @Mooks said:

The rank doesn’t work fine at all.

the devs see this and the community actually too. There have been so many complaints on bad matchmaking and people actually trying to blame MMR for bad matchmaking when in reality it was the regular rank-based one.

people need to start giving MMR a chance, the goal is for those casual players to be finally getting matched against/with other players on their skill level. Which rank based matchmaking doesn’t try to do at all.

Yes, it does, just stay at green ranks. You want to challenge yourself, move up in rank, don't like it? De-rank. Easy

  • The devs balance the game for casuals because the game is mostly being played by casuals that don't want to go above purple ranks. That's where the problem lies, so putting in an MMR system, in my opinion, is pointless and stupid. The ranks work just fine, they need to stop fixing things that don't need to be fixed and start fixing the things that do.

  • Just use borrowed time and decisive strike... if you're solo, bring Kindred as well. Let the killer camp just go do gens, you won't be able to penalize these killers because all that matters to them is kills, not pipping. This is why the game should reward you more for hooks and not kills but again it won't matter with those kinds of killers what you do, they just want to kill.

So if you want to avoid those killers, play better but I am not sure how the MMR is going to work so you'll just have to deal with it for now.

  • @Rescultir said:

My teammates are bad and the killers are even worse. I am a rank 8 survivor, I hardly play survivor because it was already bad before but now it's just not enjoyable because I get killers that camp or tunnel, and they mostly console killers, and then I have teammates not doing the objective at all and just going straight for hook saves all the time.

When I play killer it's ok, I don't get any mega try hard groups but most of the time I get the noobs that just throw themselves at me and don't bother with the objective at all so I end up getting easy 4k's or the survivors are new with only 1 yellow or green perk equipped, it's sad.

Also, I would rather there be ranks at the end of a match than just an emblem saying who is survivor and killer or at the very least put in the picture of who is playing what character. Leaving things blank is getting old and boring to look at, just lazy work.

I've been playing from 10 pm to 5 am now so about 7 - 8 hours and nothing changed, it didn't get harder but it didn't get better either. So far, not a fan.

I dunno, I played killer because survivor is so awful and I kept getting purple rank SWFs against my level 20 killer.

I take back what I said, playing killer sucks.

  • I don't try as much as I used to anymore. I used to be a killer main back when Freddy came out and over the years I just realized there's no point in trying. The amount of stress that gets build-up is too much, the mental state that you put yourself in after a good hour or 2 of playing nothing but the killer is not healthy at all, and the backlash you have to deal with when that 4 man SWF loses because you had to do some "bad plays" like slugging when there's one gen left but 4 survivors are still alive and only 1 or 2 might be on death hook.

I read some of your comments and I personally don't believe you've played killer to its full potential. Play killer for 1 month or however long it takes you to get to red rank and you'll see. Not sure if it even makes a difference now because of MMR which is also the reason I don't try at the game so I can just relax with music and get blood points and not care about getting enough points to pip. It could also be that, maybe, most of the good killers probably quit or they started playing so that they could get kills since there was a discussion between Tru3 and Otz about hooks over kills and since not a lot of people like Tru3 they went and did what Otz said which is to just slug/camp or whatever to get kills and that's what people did for a month, straight. I don't know if it was to prove a point but it was boring and that was around the time I stopped playing DBD again. Overall, I probably quit this game about 5 times because solo queue sucks, and playing a killer isn't any better now that they nerfed the good ones. I used to main Trapper all the time, Trapper was BAE, fam. When I wanted to try I would just play Nurse which is also not the same now that I have to wait for the stupid blink timer to refill but at least she is still viable.

and no, this wouldn’t lead to people getting irreversible treatment that they didn’t actually want, that should go a long psychiatric and medical process. If those processes are cut short it has nothing to do with media representation. I have heard about some of those cases. It’s the fault of the parents and doctors. Not the media.

Anyway, I am trying not to get off-topic here.

My original point is that having an LGBTQ character would cause problems, IMO.

If the devs wish to add in an LGBTQ character then that is up to them, again, I don't have any problems with REASONABLE LGBTQ that will at least listen and talk about things without being offended.
