Do you even read those or do you just hope I believe you and don’t Open the links and read on my own?
please show me where it states that exposure to LGBTQ+ representation is directly linked to higher suicide rates or even irrational decision making for children?
Oh no, it's right there in the first one I posted.
- "Among USTS respondents, suicide thoughts and attempts were more likely to be reported among those of younger ages, Alaskan Native/American Indian or Biracial/Multiracial respondents, transgender men, pansexual respondents, and non-binary respondents assigned female at birth."
- Similar to trends in the U.S. population, we found a higher prevalence across all suicide-related measures among respondents who had lower educational attainment, were unemployed, or had lower annual household income. In terms of relationship status, respondents who were partnered and living together with their partners had the lowest prevalence of suicidal thoughts and attempts.
discrimination is not the only thing leading to suicide.
But I did have one about kids that I guess is gone now.

And? Those are going to be here regardless and have been here for years. Are you saying we should shut down the game altogether?
Nope, I am only showing you that there will only be more problems than solutions. I am still sticking to my original statement and showing you how it would only work against you.

Then maybe it's time for someone to stand up to those unreasonable people. Why should we kowtow to cancel culture? Let's add explicitly LGBT relationships and when someone wants to cancel the game because their kids play it, we say "no".
Good luck, you're also going to have to deal with the people that think games are the reason their kid is violent.

I haven’t said that at all. This game is for adults and children should not play it. There are parents involved after all.
i am saying however that children can easily handle the existence of LGBTQ+. Many children at growing up with people that are LGBTQ+ in their close environment and don’t evolve any problems out of that. And yeah that is proven as well, even for children with parents who are LGBTQ+.
i don’t know why you would say it would be problematic??
Because the data shows it as being problematic if you're not making the right choices.

So go complain to the parents, not DbD. This is a game for adults. If the parents are letting their kids play it, that's on them.
PS: Seeing or hearing about LGBT people won't turn your kid LGBT or cause any issues. That's not how it works.
Yea so you see the problem here then? The game is rated M for mature but parents still let their kids play BUT the parents won't put that blame on themselves, they'll point it at the game and the devs, and then the media will jump on it like they always do. This has also been going on for years to other games.
Yes I know that's not how it works, calm down I am only saying that showing underdeveloped kids that kind of stuff can turn them in a direction they might not want to go. Not so much for Lesbian or Gay but the more extreme stuff and I use the word "extreme" only because you can change/alter your appearance and won't be able to reverse it. It is not intended to be offensive.
I should also mention that by "kid" I mean anyone younger than 15. Maybe 16

Kids can handle this just fine. No one is asking for graphical sexuality here, just treating LGBTQ+ the same way heterosexuality is already treated.
actually I think it’s way more problematic if children don’t get to know about LGBTQ+, because this is making them believe it would be something abnormal, which it just isn’t.
also the violence part is definitely something that might cause problems for some children, even though you don’t see any immediate effects.
So I am assuming that you think kids can make decisions for themselves then? It is actually more problematic and we are already seeing it. Violence in video games is not a problem for normal kids, only those that have already had problems in their childhood, and this is proven.

Do you think they're going to listen to you explain it? Good luck with that, they don't listen to much of anything without being offended anyway.
That's why I said you ignore the unreasonable ones. You need to read past the first sentence.
Also, violence and toxic people are in almost every game, it's actually worse in Rust which is the big thing on YouTube now so kids are more into that so no I am not worried about that since kids also did the same thing in Fortnite as well, that will not change it has been going on for years and it's up to the parents to control that the same way it is up to the parents to tell them about LGBTQ at an older age and not a game.
So go worry about violence and toxic people, which are actually harmful, instead of worrying about the kids who are going to read all the lore in the game with a fine-toothed comb (yes, all 0 of those kids).
Most of them are unreasonable, so as I have said before... good luck because there will probably only be a small handful that will actually listen to what people say. I also added to that next statement you quoted. "plus we all know that content creators will talk about the LGBTQ so even if they don't read the "lore" they will still find out in some way." is what I edited in afterwards

With everything going on in the world right now, I would avoid adding LGBTQ characters to this game. It's not that I don't want an LGBTQ character, you do you that's fine but I know that the other more "caring" LGBTQ people the ones that just look at things for what it is without putting much thought into it will see this game as offensive. I believe there will be too many problems that will occur when adding an LGBTQ character to this game and any other game depending on the style of the game.
So you explain the context to them and ignore the unreasonable ones who won't listen. Problem solved.
I also know that there are some kids that play this game and I STRONGLY believe that they do not need to know about this kind of stuff at a young age from a game. so again, I only see more problems than solutions coming from this.
As someone who didn't know bisexuality was a thing until his late teens despite having felt attracted toward boys and girls since he was a child, this is BS. Furthermore, if kids are playing the game, I'd be far more worried about their exposure to the violence and toxic people than a line of lore they will never read.
Do you think they're going to listen to you explain it? Good luck with that, they don't listen to much of anything without being offended anyway. There's clearly something that bugs ppl about the trickster and he's very different from the other killers. Some ppl might point at the tricksters clothes, hair, attitude or whatever. Others have rightfully pointed out reasons why that doesn't make sense.
Personally, I think the "problem" with the trickster is that he feels like just a normal villain. Not a horror killer. There's a reason why ppl memed hey look pagan min is in this game or said he reminds me of the Joker. Don't get me wrong , they're good characters. They're scary if you met them irl, have horrifying lore and brutally kill people but you should understand why ppl think they don't belong in dbd. It also opens the door to having other villains in the game.
You won't convince me that a K-Pop character is more terrifying than an FNAF Animatronic. I'd take the Animatronic.
I would have even preferred the Joker over this K-Pop weeb. There are other killers they could have tried to add a long time ago but they wanted to stick to a "theme" with this killer being released they might as well throw their "theme" dream out the window. I will not buy this killer nor will I accept him into the DBD universe because I STRONGLY disagree with the way the devs went on this.

I don't get why you quoted me twice just to basically repeat yourself.
I'm not sitting through ads and watching 20 minutes of some random content creator's video and waiting for him to talk about what you think is related to the emblems. Find the written DBD dev statement instead because I'm guessing the dude is just reading one of those.
The new MMR is not attached to the ranking system with the emblems, in fact in the last Q&A stream they said they will not be telling us what exactly they are using to calculate the new MMR because they don't want players to change their play to increase/decrease their hidden MMR rating.
In the January dev update they said Ranks (which are tied to the emblems) would no longer be used for match making once MMR is introduced. They will only matter for BP rewards you will get at rank reset.
The BP scoring events are not tied to the emblems in a way to let you know what your emblem score is. You can max out BP in categories which you would see from the BP scoring BUT not get an iridescent emblem because the scoring for emblems is not the same as BP scores. I've gotten all iridescent emblems and not max out scoring in the categories - Unbroken is one you can get an iridescent emblem and only have 5k out if 8k points. I've also gotten perfect score of 32k but not had all iridescent emblems - Unbroken again if you're hooked once you won't get higher than gold but you can still get the max 8k BP.
As far as BP scoring events staying/being removed from the HUD I would be fine with them being removed so there is less popping up on my screen during a match. It could be helpful to remove them because there's plenty of players that see they max out in altruism and stop even attempting to save players from the hook because they won't get any more points in that category. The only time the BP scoring events are possibly needed during a match is when there's an event like the current one we have now. Currently in game you see the event scoring pop up, if you played event offering it'll show the increased bonus BP.
Between BP scoring events and emblem status I would choose BP scoring events every time because they're more useful than a soon to be old rank system that will only matter once a month.
Yea my bad the quote thing said it didn't post the first time, idk what happened there. Don't see how I can delete it.

@Gibberish said:
I'm not sure I aree with your rework in particular, but I do agree that the Unbroken emblem should be reworked into something else. I honestly dont think escaping should be part of the emblems system, escaping should just be a BP multiplier or something.
Yea, I don't agree with it either but I was just trying to give an idea lol

@bm33 said:
Soon rank won't matter at all except for some extra BP at reset so adding in emblems would just be unnecessary clutter.
People seem to forget that the devs are bringing back MMR despite all the negative feedback about it so it will force you to pip or keep playing with potato teammates. The icons on the top right of the screen in-game is the old scoring system to show you what you needed and how much you needed to pip. So if they replace that it'll be more useful than the current icons that are there since it doesn't provide any useful information while playing the match.
-
@bm33 said:

Yes, but they have those other blood point gains icons that also don't matter because you don't see the total amount of bps you have until the game ends and those icons represented the old rank system to keep track of how much score you got. So I say we replace those, you say rank doesn't matter but it will because they made that MMR, and they're bringing it back in the future. Even if you think they're not important, the devs still think it is despite all the negative feedback about it.

Hopefully, I explained this well enough for people to understand how it works. I still think you should not have to wait to be downed for this emblem to start rewarding you. so let's say you start at 0 and then as you're playing you start gaining points and say you get 850 points because you have not been downed yet. Once you go down those points should be added to that 1 point (1,000) for the time you were alive without being down. 1000+850 then subtracted from 999 = 851 and that's the value you'd get and then you'd add points for being downed as a punishment so say you add 100 your total would then be 951 so you'd get silver because it's below the starting level of 999 points for the bronze. the values and everything would have to be reworked as well but I think y'all can understand... hopefully.
-
Obviously, I think they should be part of the new HUD and they SHOULD have been part of the old HUD as well. Let me know what you think.

Oooh. Yeah that's pretty annoying. Its situations like this that make me wish we had a "die on floor" button when there's only 2 survivors left and you've been on the floor for a bit (like 10+ seconds or so), or something similar.
A "give up" button is probably the best idea in most situations, they should add this to the game AND/OR make it so you have to stay in the match for 'X' amount of minutes before you can use it.

I didn't ask for anyones approval. You're just assuming I did for whatever reason. Ive been playing for 4 years, I don't need anyone's approval.
So it's okay to slug for a 4k but I can't kill myself voluntarily? I'm giving the killer his kill, but I'm not wasting any time with it. There is no skill required in slugging for a 4k thus it shouldn't be respected. If you're going to slug me and make me bleed out without having any intention to pick me up either for a 4k or for using me as bait, I will dc. I'm not having my time wasted and I'm not being used to help you get easy kills. I don't respect people like that.
Did I say I expect people to play by some made up rules. No. I didn't, so stop with the forum coin terms. I am taking myself out of the game, that isn't making anyone play by my rules. If anything, you seem to be the only one wanting to force people to play with your play style.
I never experience players dc'ing in my matches when I'm killer. I don't tunnel. I don't slug. I don't camp. I play in a way that is fun for not only myself but others as well. Everyone in the match including myself gets a ton of bloodpoints and almost always pips. I usually get 4ks but I will every other match get a 3k cause a survivor got to the hatch before me. I'm constantly getting better because I don't rely on scummy unfun tactics that only rank 20s should be using. If you can only get a 4k by slugging, I simply don't respect you enough to give you the easy 4k. I'll accept a defeat when I get outplayed or even if I make a mistake. But not if you do cheap nooby plays that literally have 0 counterplay.
The only way a survivor gets outplayed is if they make a mistake...
Personally I don't have a problem with slugging I do have a problem with killers forcing 3 gens every game, that ######### is boring and needs to be stopped especially when you're solo and survivors have no idea what the killer is trying to do and you're the only one going for the gen to prevent the 3 gen.
Also, why would you DC at the end of a game? That's like killers DCing when the gates are powered, literally pointless. You've just wasted your own time playing that match and gained nothing from it so why DC? Yes it is annoying but killers are going to do it regardless, why? I don't know, I do not slug for 4k because I just want the match to be done with at that point as a killer mostly because I don't have patients.
To be honest, I think most people slug for a 4k because they see their favorite content creator slugging for a 4k but that's just my assumption.

@Snapshot said:
Honestly this is just ridiculous. Survivors DCing all day:
- get hit first --> DC
- get put in basement with Bubba (not camping) --> DC
- not getting a chance for DS because Pyramid Head --> DC
- Realizing the killer is Spirit --> DC
Over the past 3 days I played like 50 matches or so and in 39 AT LEAST 1 survivor DCed.
There needs to be some better punishment in my opinion
They have a punishment coming in December, when a survivor DC's they get a time penalty and it will in crease every time they leave it was in one of the patch notes when they added the timer on to PC and then took it out for some reason just to put it back in sometime in December.
Also, idk if anyone else noticed but they also made it so that now when someone DC's they only lose 1 pip, not 2... It's almost like the devs are trying to find every which way to side with survivors... Prove Me Wrong.

@Smurmph said:
"Rescuing a survivor by stunning the killer or blinding them with a flashlight now grants a token."
Let's talk about how this does nothing for what they said.
- This was already in the game. I'm unsure if it's a bug turned feature but it was already in the game.
- They stated that they wanted to add new ways to get tokens in order to stop the unhooking competition between survivors. This is just making an unsafe unhook in order to get a token. This "new" way to get tokens does nothing to stop this because it's so situational. And again, it was already in the game, so it changes nothing. The unhooking competition stays the same.
The only thing that was added to WGLF was the increase to healing speed when healing a survivor in the dying state which, btw, DOESN'T EVEN GIVE YOU A STACK!!!
I'm really disappointed in some of these perk buffs because they could be so much better. If it were me I would add "Gain a token for healing a health state of other survivors"
Pretty sure everyone wants this and this would make it easier to obtain tokens AND reduce the competition between survivors for unhooks because healing happens so often during games.
If we wanted to go further I would also add" Gain a token for completing a generator" further decreasing the competition and making it easier to get tokens, But that's just me
Devs I hope you listen, We all want more ways to get tokens, but you have to actually add more ways to get them.
yea you'd think that healing a survivor on the ground and then taking a hit because you at least tried to heal them would give you a stack but nope... and the killer is usually going to chase you since the other guy is still being slugged, I don't understand the devs thinking.
WGLF should give you a stack for risking your life to try and help others, that's basically what the perk is.
-
Blood Warden won't do anything, survivors don't open the gates anyway unless they're pretty much forced to or you get that 1 random that doesn't know what they're doing. It's not 100% effective and tbh I think people only 99% gates because they see other YouTube's and TTV people do it so they just started doing it as well and it wasn't because of BW it was because of the timer. The timer should start once the final gen is done and should not wait to be activated once the gate is opened which would make BW more useful IMO.
As for DS, there isn't really a solution. It was nerfed to be a countering tool for tunneling which is fine, I did not mind the change. What I did mind was them nerfing enduring so you couldn't recover from the stun as quickly which I don't think they changed the stun time while nerfing enduring, I could be wrong about that but if you nerf one thing you have to balance them out. So what they should have done was figured out a reasonably good stun recovery time from taking a DS hit which I think is the only way to go.
I play both killer and survivor and I can say that disabling the perk once the EGC begins is not the way to go. If the killer has 4 people still alive at the end of a game it is not the survivors fault it is your own for not knowing how to handle situations accordingly. The most common time someone is to be tunneled is at the EGC and if someone was able to save their DS until then (which is about 8 - 10 minutes) then imo they deserve to keep their DS since they played well enough to not have to use it.
The only time devs ever change anything is if they get too many complaints from SWF, Survivor Mains, or when they try to balance the game around low rank players so they can continue to play and the only low rank survivors playing this game are console. I made a new account and tested the theory myself, which is probably where most of their money is coming from so they're trying to make the game more enjoyable for them so they can keep playing the game instead of balancing it around rank 1's and people that actually KNOW how to play the game and have THOUSANDS of hours and are able to ABUSE certain perks/items or whatever to their advantage.
I mostly just eat DS if I have time to do so but it depends on the situation as well.

yea... but that dedicated server meme is still true. still rely on your internet being good enough or for some reason the game matches you up with some random server that's no where near you. I like the Doc changes though, a killer should be able to gain some information to decide what to do next.

Full article on Ruin:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/117488/designer-notes-doctor-gatekeeper-hex-ruin
Short version:
We took a close look at the perk to identify what makes it so frustrating to play against. Three key issues were identified:
- Its punishment of new players or those who can't hit Great Skill Checks. Newer players trying to help veterans with generator repairs tend to make the situation worse rather than better.
- The passive nature of the gameplay pressure it provides means that there is a huge amount of potential with very little effort or risk on behalf of The Killer.
- Its inconsistency due to the random nature of the appearance interval of skill checks.
- Why are nubs being matched with Vets? Only time I see that is when vets would group up with them to get easier games to boost their ranks.
- The risk is the totem spawning beside a gen or out in the open because totem spawns are trash. especially if they get it at the start of the match which would also leave a killer with a wasted perk slot.
- I have done a few gens with only 3 skill checks popping up and sometimes I wouldn't even get 1 when playing survivor. It felt like a killer running ruin just buffed skill checks so people could fly through it easier (which most high ranks did) so I don't know where you're getting your information from but it doesn't seem right to me.
-
That's because no one plays that game on console so they match people up with whoever is playing to get games faster. That's why I switched to PC instead.
-
The roar thing is dumb, I agree. Just leave it with Oni, devs. You don't have to keep copy-pasting killers I thought you were trying to make the "unique"?

I don't think so, cause I've fought killers before and it tells me anyway.
When you get past a certain amount of hours in the game, they will stop telling you which killer you are playing against. It could also be whatever rank you get past as well I am not sure but they do go away after a while so you won't be able to tell who the killer is. Hooks should not be made based off of who the killer is it completely removes the fear factor at the start of the game.
-
It also does it with the "Best New Trapper Mask" there is no red maple on the front of it.
-
Ranks should be removed from the game;
- Most of the high rank players are boosted Survive with Friends.
- Queue times take too long after a while.*
- You're not rewarded for ranking.*
- Solo players usually queue with bad players.
- New players won't learn anything when facing other new players.
- Some killers will purposely de-pip to have relaxing games, same with survivors.
- Ranking splits the player base.*
- Rank Resets are pointless now.*
- The pip system is still broken with some killers. Trapper, Bubba, and Billy being top 3.
- You can still de-pip/safety pip in some cases even though you played the match well.
The ones marked with a star (*) are pretty much the main concerns I have with the rank system. What should happen is all ranks should be allowed to queue up with each other and be rewarded for getting higher ranks which is probably the best way to keep ranks in the game. The other way would be to completely remove ranks and have a score board with the top 50 people or so on it but still have a reward system and you could have a "Solo" "Survive With Friends" and specific killer tabs for them. Which could also promote some content creators on Twitch/Youtube since, I assume, some of them will be on there.

If you're looking for a balanced game, this isn't it. There are going to be games that just aren't possible to win right from the start, especially if you don't use Ruin. As for harassment, see the humor in it. The SWF groups are playing the easiest possible version of the game and acting like they just won the Olympics. Don't sweat it.
I try but after a while it just gets annoying and worse, the games I have been playing the survivors still blow through ruin like it's nothing. In 1 game it took them 1 min to do a gen and every other game where I have went to a gen it's almost done... Maybe it's me? But why is it not like that when I play solo games as survivor and always get potatoes I do not understand.
-
That mid-chapter patch did not solve my issue but it does help for the end game.
-
I take breaks too but every time I come back it's the same stupid things. Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming back to the game just to be bullied over and over again. I had 2 games where 3 survivors escaped with a key and then called me bad even though I had a 3 gen lock down and they have MoM + DS and other crutch perks, most of the time it's Adrenaline. 1 survivor was on death hook that I was chasing. They all ran to the hatch (obviously had mics) and escaped and because I can't grab no one FROM THE HATCH FOR SOME STUPID REASON! they all got out because I did not see someone had a key and was standing at hatch when i was going to a gen to break it. I could have at least grabbed Dwight at the end for my 2nd kill.
In that situation I SHOULD be allowed to grab a survivor and close the hatch while holding them I think it's completely stupid to just let them go because I couldn't close the hatch when someone is jumping into it. I don't even think I can grab survivors on doors now, did we really stoop to this level? That's not balanced, that's favoritism. Where is that MoM nerf, that perk is way too strong it's basically and un-nerfed DS?
-
Thank you, I am a little less pissed now but still not enough to go back to playing DBD right now.

I mean considering the next patch is literally called endgame collapse I will be shocked if the hatch is unchanged.
Where do I go to see them?

@HavelmomDaS1 So how do I do it?
Just now I tried to find the file but when it comes up, whether it's in Wordpad or Notepad, it's completely blank. How do I change the settings?
you'll have to right-click on GameUserSettings (don't open it) go down to Properties and make sure both Read-Only and Hidden boxes are unchecked. Then, you'll want to click apply, close everything and launch DBD. quit the game and go back to GameUserSettings and everything should be there. Also, the value you will need to change in GameUserSettings is called FrameRateLimit=200.000000 it's close to the bottom and located above DesiredScreenWidth=1280 and turn off bUseVSync=False That might fix your problem.

PC DBD gamers are pretty toxic, I use to play on PC now i am on ps4 and it is a lot easier as killer but people still message me because they die xD

I played with a controller on my PC when I first switched, i don't find them to be too hard but that's probably because I play on the highest sensitivity to avoid being 360'd a lot xD

Old Legacy will never be brought back into DBD, you have no idea how long it took to get stuff in that blood web and all the annoying things people had to deal with back then. 100% deserved and should only be given to those that played in that time. Now if they make New Legacy skins (which I doubt they will) there would have to be some kind of incredibly insane thing that people had to go through to deserve those outfits, not because they purchased non-licensed characters, you already have cosmetics, more are coming, and you can STILL purchase the characters once the new patch goes live. I do believe they are making outfits for those that purchased the killer but it won't be anywhere close to classifying as "Legacy" just an extra 1 or 2 outfit(s) for you for supporting them, that's it. I do not know if people will be getting outfits for purchasing non-licensed killers BEFORE the patch goes live but that would be awesome if they did that.

as long as the game is not 1 sided, I am fine with how it is. The only thing they should do is give timeouts for people that leave games, and no not "BAN" them, that's just stupid since the player count would drop dramatically. Timeouts are fine and the more they leave a match, the higher the time queue will go, this will allow new and experienced players to try and better themselves and SWF groups to stay in the game instead of leaving when the main person they are trying to protect dies first. Idk how other feel about that but it is just my opinion/idea.

I just want to show the survivors my creative art, I have to place them on a hook or they just run away.
So lonely =(
