You listed only three perks, forever destroying the hopes and dreams of those of us wanting a full build, I hope you feel ashamed of yourself jk lol

It's up to the readers' interpretation and deepest desires to summon the fourth perk 😤

  • Natural ways you can create pressure (if you are not using a high mobility killer) is through interrupting gens, hooking survivors near a 3 gen or corner, or even leaving survivors on the ground and chasing a nearby survivor. These things cause one or more survivors to either have to find new generators or waste time doing altruistic activities.

I'd say running even just one slow down perk helps ease things though. Although your build can help enhance the natural pressure you can cause. For example, say you run an aura/tracking build, you will find survivors quicker than normal and then the pressure you cause is based on how quick you can down and hook survivors. Another example is using Plaything and Pentimento which allows you to manually create secondary objectives for survivors to do.

In general, best way to deal with protecting generators without the help of a perk is by protecting 3 close generators and setting up a 3 gen. This can help stall the game in your favor near the end of the game, especially if you can hook survivors near the 3 generators so that you do not have to go very far. However, you cannot just assume survivors are bots and won't understand what you're doing. Perceptive survivors will try to prohibit a 3 gen from happening and you will have to spot that and deal with it accordingly.

Others have stated that playing for hooks and chases is more fun than playing for kills and protecting generators, which I completely agree. The latter can cause you stress while the former engages you in an interesting way and can help you learn game mechanics and mind games.

Can't be that, I've been rubberbanding badly at 60 and that's definitely below 105.

It is strange that people have had different rubberbanding experiences. I'm honestly not sure what could be the cause of it or why different fps limits solve it for different people.

  • Monitor and Lethal are two perks that could combo well. Lets you know where survivors are immediately to get your power and give survivors less time to react to your presence. The game starts flowing once he gets his power so taking two perk slots to ease the beginning isn't so bad. I've noticed that once you start gaining hooks, Plaything helps you sneak up on survivors with your power even more.

  • I believe lowering it to 105 works as well. At least for me personally, the rubberbanding stops at a limit of 105 or lower.

  • Weirdly, she is a killer that I love playing because I tend to enjoy the ranged killer playstyle, but dislike going against due to how effectively she can trap a loop with her crows. Although I mainly play her in a sniper way and both the Charcoal Stick and Velvet Fabric add-ons help me out with that.

Garish Make-up Kit makes the duration last even longer than the solvent jug so it pairs even better

I must have bad rng because I've never seen that actually. Thanks for the tip!

Edit: wow I literally just got it after saying that

  • I may still use it, but I think Floods of Rage or Darkness Revealed may be more helpful for me personally after the update.

  • Isn't that just the fault of the survivor teammates? They surely had ample time to unhook you, heal you, and finish the gen but instead left you to die. If they could do the gens and unhook you at the end of it with no repercussions, then there'd be no pressure added to hook survivors in the first place. Hooked survivors are meant to slow down the game so that a survivor is forced to get off the generator to unhook their teammate.

Although I'd be all for base kit Kindred but without the killer aura part being a thing.

  • Atm, it'd be

    Favorites: Oni, Huntress, Deathslinger, Trickster

    Least: Myers, Spirit, Artist, Demo

  • His knives slow him down and you can loop him because of that. The trick is positioning yourself in an area that you know can help avoid his knives. If you compare his ratio of 6 knives to 1 hatchet, he has a similar amount of capacity to Huntress. Although I'd argue he has to reload more often than Huntress due to the difference in variety of his chases. The reason he can miss a few knives is because he needs 6 of then to remove a health state which is different from other killers. However, missing knives means he has to reload more often which slows him down from going immediately into another chase.

  • Have you ever used it on Blight? I've gotten many downs with him due to this perk simply by denying pallet drops. Works well in the Blood Favor, Ruin, Undying, and Pentimento build I was running.

Blood Favor is probably dependent on the killer that runs it. It's mostly nice on fast movement killers or ranged killers. M1 killers do not benefit as nicely from it as a survivor can simply shift w away to a further loop.

So, im bugged right now, about lullaby. How works Trickster's Lullaby anyway? Plaything can be useful for oblivious or just for a "second Objetive?"

It could still be a good secondary objective. It has surprisingly worked for me in the past from my experience. However, if you want another alternative, another good perk that works well on Trickster and that @geni mentioned is No Way Out, which can stall the end game enough for you to get more downs.

No it isnt, that used to be the case when he was first released but it was unintended and quickly changed (used to be 32m - 24m)

The Lullaby now begins at 40m and can no longer be heard when within 8m, al though the closer to the middle you are to it the louder it gets. So only people who are really paying attention will hear it

Ah, I see. I must have missed that change. Wish they kept it as it made him unique and could have had some good mechanics going on with Plaything and such.

Side question: Do the Huntress or Onryô have similar "donut lullabies"?

No, they have regular lullabies I believe.

Why Plaything? You do know Trickster has a 'Lullaby' right? Survivors can still hear that if theyre Oblivious

I explained it in my comment. Trickster has a special type of lullaby that is donut-shaped. His lullaby ends around the time his TR begins. If they are oblivious and are near the Trickster, they will not hear the lullaby melody or the TR.

    Screenshot_20220714-103325_Samsung Notes.jpg

Sorry for the bad picture, but it works something like this. As you can see, there is no lullaby in the hole of where the TR begins. Meaning survivors that are oblivious near the Trickster cannot hear his lullaby melody or his TR.

Edit: I just realized I drew the lullaby wrong (it is donut-shaped, but it overlaps with the terror radius at certain points)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3060894#Comment_3060894

Thanks for your explanation... Pentimento instead Iron maiden, what do u think about it in that build?

I usually tend to use Pentimento on fast movement killers. Trickster is slower and will take a while to get to each totem to rekindle them when he could be focusing on chasing the next survivor and generating pressure through downs and hooks.

That being said, it very much could work since you could expect a lot of totems to be broken when paired with Plaything. And never underestimate a 30% slower gen repair while also creating another objective for survivors. Man I love Plaything and Pentimento.

  • I used to think they should, but not so much anymore. Survivors that do boons are not doing gens which helps out killers in general. Plus COH is the only strong boon normally used so is it really worth being able to destroy a totem for a single boon? Also not destroying totems can actually be advantageous to you. For example, you could remove a boon, down a player, hook them and then that same totem becomes a Plaything hex.

  • I tend to focus on giving survivors other objectives or passively defending gens. Trickster is great in the 1v1, so generating pressure from downs is also good. I do this by using:

    - Plaything

    - Deadlock

    - BBQ/Floods of Rage/Darkness Revealed

    - Iron Maiden

    - Caged Heart Shoes & any add-on you like

Plaything generates a secondary objective for the survivor. Most don't think about using it due to Trickster having a lullaby; However, his lullaby is special because it is donut-shaped. This means that his TR begins around the time his lullaby ends. For example, an oblivious survivor will hear your lullaby and then hear it go away with no heartbeat or TR sound at all. They do not know if you went far away or are really close because they can no longer hear the lullaby. This has been advantageous for me getting close before survivors run away or they will sometimes run into me. Even if they cleanse it, this is okay because they were doing another objective.

Deadlock passively blocks a gen for you to slow down the game while you focus on chases.

The third perk I use for information and tracking survivors.

Iron Maiden is used to not waste time reloading so much (Darkness Revealed pairs well with it).

The Caged Heart Shoes add-on helps a lot during chases as you can keep your knives up and not lose much distance. This is great for loops as well. The second add-on I use is either Killing Part Cords to enhance the movement effect while holding knives and help in chases or loops more when used with Caged Heart Shoes, Melodious Murder to give an almost instant reload when paired with Iron Maiden, or Edge of Revival Album to be cheeky with hitting survivors you normally cannot hit at loops and it helps with survivors that get in your face to make you miss knives so that you hit near their feet for half damage anyway.

  • Rank does not affect matchmaking. However, getting to red rank as survivor, especially solo q, can be challenging and it could just be those same people taking a break after its reset today. Although, matchmaking has always been very random for me personally so you could just be feeling that as well. Whatever it is, just know that rank itself has nothing to do with the matchmaking.

  • With the large amount of cosmetics and characters in the game, I'd say they could at least reduce the shard price of each item. It takes a long time to reach 9000 shard for example, let alone doing this multiple times to purchase every original character and possibly original cosmetics.

  • A lot of stuff tends to sound too much on paper compared to in practice on live. As you said, only real way we can know is once it hits live. People will need time to learn and adapt to the changes before it can be decided how good or bad the changes are. However, DS should definitely keep its 5 second stun. 3 seconds is too low.

  • I agree, but Mr Puddles will always be my friend

  • I'd recommend reporting it in the bug section with a video if that is possible too.

  • Interesting, I actually have the opposite experience where I think his animations make a cool noise and I like when it happens. Pinhead and Sadako for me personally have the best sound effects. (Although I agree that the lobby chains from Pinhead are way too loud)

  • @drsoontm said:

If you go down, maybe the pallet shouldn't have been dropped in the first place. With the lag it's really hard to say what really happens.

I've got a few games as survivor where I was hit from further than usual.

I've got several games as killer where the downed survivor suddenly moved a meter or two in another direction.

    It's so weird.

Yeah, I genuinly cannot tell if the survivor moving when they have been downed is a server latency issue or a ping issue.

On the plus side, I've gotten a lot of Smash Hit value recently.

i actually think this it and why I couldn’t find them on twitch!!

This player always wears the red dress on Nancy as far as I am aware, so if this is the player then congrats! 😊

  • Not sure about streamers, but Lees Gaming/ Lees Still Gaming on youtube always plays as Nancy.

  • I've used the reduced TR when ads-ing in a monitor stealth build before with furtive chase as well and it not only somehow worked if you switched targets in chase, but I managed to shoot the survivor opening the gate through the corn because they couldn't hear me. Was it niche? Yeah, but man was it fun.

  • Some have mentioned before that it should work in the opposite way that it currently works in. As in decreasing the chances of the map being chosen.

  • I think a problem with changing his power is how much they placed the knife part of his kit deep into his lore. He clearly performs with the knives throughout the animations and lore, and now the problem is how do you make the power fun for both sides without removing that aspect of him? Even if they keep the knives, he really does need some music or stage related power that occurs throughout the match (maybe even passively like Dredge's Nightfall). They could do a lot better with Main Event too (since it is underwhelming for a power that is based on taking advantage of the "hype" before it dies down) and I made a discussion about that once in the feedback category. I've played him enough on both sides to understand the counterplay and occasionally the lack there of that he has. I don't mind the way he is besides thinking that Main Event should be something different. But I certainly think a music related power in his kit would make much more sense and be entertaining for all.

  • Pain Res targets the gen that is not already finished, is not blocked, and has the most progress completed on it in that order. So if Thrilling blocks all but one gen, then Pain Res will target that gen as it is not blocked.

Remember that blocked gens cannot regress and therefore Pain Res must focus on the next gen that is free and has most progress.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

This is a very cool and thematic idea, but I'm honestly not sure trickster needs buffs. He's oppressive on maps with low loops and much weaker on maps with high walls. This doesn't really cover his weaknesses and make his strengths feel more fair.

I'd suggest it ends as soon as a survivor is downed and the spotlights flicker on and off. There could be an addon that stops the flicker even. It's still activated automatically?

Ooh, I like that idea too! So that the Main Event Spotlight would end for the survivor that was downed regardless of the duration of Main Event. This would work thematically too in the idea of a main event.

  • I need it.

Also the ability to pick lobby backgrounds would be nice because I would almost always use this one.

  • I have no idea if the MMR is being messed with or not. My games always tend to feel very random in general and my guess for that is that the game will prioritize queue times over similar MMR if the queue times get too long. If I recall, the chart BHVR put out also showed that a good majority of the playerbase is around mid MMR in general, which could add to the randomness of games. For the data you had showed us about your games, I feel that we would need other player datas as well to confirm your results.

  • A perk that I think is underrated when it comes to dealing with flashlights is Fire Up due to it making the pick up animation faster. For a survivor, it is difficult to tell if you have it (barely anyone uses it) and it will mess up their timing. Instead of not doing flashlight saves like they would do once they found out you have Lightborn, they will keep trying and wasting time. Assuming that one survivor is doing gens like you said, even one stack is enough to mess up the timing.

  • About a month ago, I made the switch to pc as well to have a better experience on the killers I normally play (the ranged ones) and for me it was the best decision. Sadly, I started playing at the end of 2018 and lost a lot of things you had listed as well, but I decided my enjoyment I got from playing on mouse and keyboard was better than those items.

If cross progression were a thing though, then people wouldn't have to make the decision to lose everything.

  • I think all he needs is a faster base holding-knife speed. If he has to throw more knives to get an injure, then he should at least be encouraged to hold his knives more at a loop and exponentially slow down as he fires them like he already does. Otherwise some other things may just be a quality of life change like holding more knives.

  • My games always seem so random so I tend to have quite a bit of fun. Sometimes when I'm not having fun, I'll get off and play Stellaris or something.

  • Instead of making his base speed 4.6, they could make his holding-knife base speed 4.4 until he starts throwing, which would exponentially slow him down like usual. This would help him not have to put down the knives while going through loops.

I agree that a base 4.6 speed would allow him to switch between m1 and m2, but he should be encouraged to use his power since he is ranged.

  • I remember before Ghostface first came out and we were theorizing what his power could be, I thought part of his ability was that he was going to have a phone mechanic that could track a survivor he calls temporarily until they turn it off.

  • Honestly, I tend to mostly use information perks on Trickster. I just find it to be fun. My main build consists of BBQ, Floods of Rage, Darkness Revealed, and Iron Maiden with specifically the diamond cufflinks add-on for more auras. I will definitely use Lethal Pursuer on him when the perk update comes. Corrupt and Pain Res are both pretty good slowdown perks for him if you want that as well. I'd also say Plaything is pretty underrated on him because of how his donut-shaped lullaby works.

  • With anyone else in the game, sure. But I definitely can't specifically with Trickster and Yun Jin. They just got so much nice customization mixes imo that I cant hold back (They could use more outfits in general though). Although, for a lot of the licensed killers and survivors, I tend to enjoy their default outfits more.

I once had a game where I was the obsession and I had a healing build

then the killer had Dying Light

I basically had permanent we'll make it the whole game, it was hilarious

I love using a healing build like Botany, Desperate, WGLF, and We'll Make It. Just makes me feel like a medic class or something.

  • His powers just are not great to use. You usually need two blood pools at a loop to slow them down enough to get a hit (especially when the power slows him down too just for placing them), and the dream pallets can only be used so many times before the survivors know which ones are real (although I still love the funny moments). I do think his ability to protect generators is underrated. It's boring for the survivors, but an entire gen slow down build just works really well on him. I've always thought of current Freddy as more of a gen protector than a chase killer, but that does mean that his ability to get downs is low. And in general, downing survivors creates more pressure and brings you closer to kills than just protecting generators. Not to mention he has arguably one of the worst add-ons in the game. If they can make his powers more useful with some buffs and give him better add-ons, then he'd be in a way better spot. Although at the the end of the day, I still would prefer on-release Freddy with some tweaks.

  • I was not expecting to see Dying Light in this list, but it makes sense and I find that funny

  • Does the 5th hit being an endurance hit actually reset the count to 0? I recall a time that I got a 6th hit due to the 5th hit being an endurance one and the 6th hit still downed them. Although this could either be a bug or intended which is why I am confused.

Legion is simply not above any of those people. He's the 2nd worst killer in the game.

The Legion can keep people injured quite frequently by using power, gain tracking through its power, natural slow down through power, and has an easier time downing survivors due to these things compared to other m1 killers imo. As long as you use its power frequently, they are normally quite good imo. Their add-ons and perk builds only enhance their power and effectiveness even more

  • I absolutely need those Trickster and Dwight outfits
