It goes both ways and you can bait killers into losing their collision detection and run through them.

Ok i main Killer but when i play Survivor i play my objective survivor but sometimes like to play my Sabbotage one.
You're getting that because the sabo strat is still decently strong even with regenerating hooks. It forces a killer to either risk giving up a kill or start slugging which is not as effective as it used to be. In every respect it is easier to get rid of the saboteur first then deal with everyone else. There was a time when saboing hooks was a legit game killer for the killer side as hooks didn't regenerate. So you could sabo every single hook except basement hooks and the killer had no choice, but to let you bleed out or getting to the basement which once all the hooks were down survivors would just go gens and then run as far away from the basement as possible so you'd never get anyone to the remaining hooks. That memory still lingers in us killer older killer mains.

Stream Sniping is when you actively watch another player's stream while playing against them to obtain real time information of where they are in game. Currently, the devs have posted that they are not going to ban people for streamsniping. I disagree with this stance as it is a purely toxic action to do so and players who engage in sniping in DBD openly admit that they do it when they get caught by streamers. Other games ban for verifiable stream snipes though.

Dont hook in front of the door and go away to patrolling (?)
once the door is open you plop them on whatever hook is around. Usually door hooks since you catching people trying to make a break for the gates anyway. As much as a killer wants to leave the hook and patrol, there isn't anything left to patrol. Unless you get the rare chance spawning of both gates on the same side of the map realistically you can only guard one door. You could hook in the basement if the placement is lucky which swings things in your favor, but considering how people like to make saves at the end of the game with a centurion line of bodyblocking you can actually mess yourself up with a basement hook if you don't have an instadown or a way to damage without m1ing.

About Mid tier I'd say, They've said they're not going to look into the fountain or sickness mechanics so I don't know if that means the instant heal is here to stay or not.
If it does go she'll be a bit more viable but she still will get wrecked by a survivor who knows how to loop if she doesn't have her power up. If not then she'll stay about middle of the pack in my opinion.
Survivors are going to treat her like legion, They wont heal and will just rush the gens.
It's ok. The Plague gives out free instaheals and if you're lucky she'll even give you a prayer and hug.

Off topic but slightly curious, what was old BT?
Borrowed Time used to be a one time only deal. Now you can use it multiple times which can be a huge pain when survivors are hook bombing.
-
Considering the game is currently running on p2p networking lobby dodging is far and away less of an issue to DCing. You lose nothing if the host breaks the lobby, but to go in game and people start dcing messes with your score, items, and wastes even more time.
-
This is the exact reason why the game needs an escape timer. Once the exit gates are opened you have a minute and a half max to leave after that you have to get to the hatch. Then you have to get to the hatch and leave in two minutes or you just lose. That solves all this holding the game hostage nonsense.

Day 2
Getting into games was a huge struggle. Matchmaking seems to have just went down the drown during this ptb for killer. I tried resetting my net, but not much improved. The Plague isn't as bad as I first thought(shock horror), but she's still not great in some ways. She's complex and needs a keen grasp of pathing, but not as complex as nurse.
- Purge is strong- Base Vile Purge is actually quite strong. I took sometime to get used to using and full disclosure I needed to go watch footage of high level streamers to get a better sense of what I needed to do. Breaking survivors is not particularly hard and with practice you can shorten chases a ton. I'd love to get more games in to really workout the kinks, but I just can't force matchmaking to happen with everyone in kill your friends. The corrupted version I still feel is lackluster, but what it lacks in exciting gameplay interactions it makes up for in usefulness. In all The Plague's power is good for her.
- Perks- Her perks aren't really getting me excited when it comes to using them on her. I think Corrupt Intervention and Infectious Fright are the best two while Dark Devotion feels very strange to use on her. Devotion could definitely setup some nice ambush plays which I feel may be a thing for her. Ranged ambush plays, but she's visually just a glaring beacon. You can't miss her and so I think that perk would be better suited to hag, freddy, or legion. Ruin is going to feel mandatory at lower skill levels to cover for time lost in prolonged chases.
- Infecting the environment- Honestly other than points I still don't see this being a big factor. On gens it is a good way to know someone has touched a gen after you've kicked it. Like a poor man's Surveillance. Survivors at maximum infection do better at spreading to the environment than you do. Though, during a chase she does punish loops that end in dropped palettes if you spew on it right behind them.
- Addons are still meh- I've yet to come across any particularly powerful addons, but right now she doesn't need much of a power spike.
All in all I'd say that she's a strong mid tier killer. If I had to compare her to anyone it would be a mix of Doctor and Huntress. She's got ranged ailments and ranged attacks to go along with her basic attack. Also speaking of her basic attack. The lunge just has to be shorter than normal. Watching footage and playing her myself gives me the feeling that her lunge is short. More tomorrow if I can get anymore games.
-
I like the more complex killers, but when I just want points I play simple killers like Legion or Trapper.
-
This is just going to be an ongoing issue. Devs won't revert the gens back to the longer repair times even though with tools and prove thyself people are flying through the gens at breakneck speeds. Even ruin isn't as potent as it used to be just for the simple fact that it is so staple that everyone is learning to work through it and hit the skill checks or gen tap.
-
This new system is like pulling teeth. You've got to hope that survivors are smart enough to unhook each other, not do silly things like run around the hooked survivor causing you to stay there chasing them while also being dumb enough to no do gens efficiently. As a killer main, this change feels really bad. Getting a 2k and getting depipped sucks. Getting a 3k and getting depipped or just barely black pipping sucks. We're already being forced to adhere to a small set of playstyles and then we're getting hamstrung even further by scoring being left up to playing some magical game where survivors get 3 hooked every time. I can't take the survivors off the hook and if they get left to die I'm expected to lose points? A game can end in 3-5mins, but somehow I'm supposed to consistently defend everything and stop everyone while somehow ensuring they get to play the game just enough so they can have chances to win? Might as well just go back to slugging at this rate.

Hi. I absolutely love playing dead by daylight. It destresses me, and helps me not think about bad stuff. The new killer ruined the whole game for me. Seriously.
That does suck. There isn't a lot of ways to resolve the issue other than become a killer main. That way you're the one in control of the killer.

The conditions for ranking up were mentioned in a thread, I think it was the patch notes.
Ranking out should be limited to those who excel or do really well. I think it’s alright now
Getting pips as killer right now are broken. You're score has to be ridiculously high just to black pip. Which is unnecessary as killer has always been the harder role to play and rank in. The is lies in survivor scoring which has remained seemingly untouched. Even the players who excel at the game were depiping on their streams yesterday. Getting a 3k or a quick 4k won't even guarantee that you don't depip. You have to play a longer game, get at least 10 hooks, be very strong in chases, and keep the survivors from repairing gens for a longer time. Which is something that everyone knows is not really in the killer's control atm.

"Starting to Understand"
Can we stop saying how weak or how powerful a Killer is not even 24 hours after release?
I mean... are we going to have another Legion freakout with the community or? Are y'all actually gonna learn that opinions on matters like this take time to form....
I don't think Tru3 has even formulated his own official opinion.
He does mention that this is first impressions and then after 5 hours of play revises his impressions, but still ends up thinking she could be a bit better. There is nothing wrong with stating the impression of a killer when we're in PTB and supposed to be doing just that anyway so the devs can get an idea of what the playerbase at large thinks about the killer. Also once you have the thousands of hours that a Tru3 has you probably understand the game as a whole much better than the average player and can make a decently informed opinion.

Also as a killer you should almost always give the hatch to manipulate the stats of the devs.
I often at lowrank will let all 4 escape, else we would probably see killer nerfs in the future since at lowrank the escape rates are really low.
That's not how that works. That is not how any of that works. We're more likely to see killer nerfs based on internal playtesting and community feedback than survival metrics. That is probably the least useful metric since they build every killer to never get a 100% winrate. A more useful metric would be time spent in trial or Time to down survivors.

I will tell you 2 things about your "popular reasons"
lets start from 2nd: if you slug for 4K survs have 4 choices, 1st just go and die (and dumb killer is happy), 2nd try to pick up (but most likely body is camped so he cant), 3rd surv that is alive press 1, 2 or keep droping and picking item for 4 min so he wont get crows and then hatch stand off vs someone that is so bored with life to camp body for 4min so hatch stand off can take quite some time, OR avoid those 3 and surv on ground DC and will save 4min bleeding out because killer wants to fap to 4K (i play both killer and surv, and played way too much over those 1,5 year)
and now time for 1st "popular reason"
as killer you can dodge surv lobby, is it 4 squadettes, or 4 Legacy or 4 FL (i didnt dodged lobby in like 7 months, but many killers still do) so killer can choose his opponent(kinda) but surv doesnt have that chance, and i promise you if survs would check killer Legions and Nurses wouldnt find ANY lobby, only because of that unballance (killer can, surv cant) you think survs DCing vs Legion is weird, i dont know you but i bet my money on that you DCed many many times because someone last sec switched or facecamped them, but for surv you pretty much are always last sec switching
Let survs in lobby see you play Legion, grab popcorn and wait hour to find lobby that wont dodge legion. Ofc you could tell surv would change their loadout if they would know killer but lets block loadout in killer lobby im full in it, let me see and dodge every Legion that only can moonwalk to get down...
Edit: About changing loadout after possibility of seeing killer, killer can change their loadout after seeing survs (equip franklin/lightborn, change killer that is better vs stealth) so its even more unfair
Survivors already have the use of third party programs to see what killer they will be going against. Also, yet another complaint about slugging.
-
As a killer main, I've never needed to hack to get the job done. Getting caught in lockers is just what will happen. The game isn't fresh and after a while even the least brainpower killer will just check lockers. It wastes like 4 seconds, but people love being in there these days.
-
Hag seems like she's perfectly cordial as a person and only does what she does because she's hungry.
-
Legion isn't meant to pressure the map. Legion is meant to pressure the survivors directly by forcing them to take time to heal or get stuck in tunnel chases. All of their pressure is applied to making survivors waste time mending or running rather than doing gens. You're also not taking into account the psychological effect of Legion. Legion is probably the highest rate of survivor dc's out of any recently released killer. No one wants to play against even a bad Legion.
-
Noed is OP and can ruin a game because of getting hit once then your facecamped because the gens are done.
Noed is far from op. The original version of the perk was much more powerful. I wasn't a hex, gave movement on top of the insta-down. The perk has been toned way down since then and can be completely negated since it is a hex totem that can only activate if a dull totem is still up. By design you can actually, dictate exactly where noed is going to appear if you let it appear at all. Also the perk has a horrible track record of appearing on the most visible and accessible totems. If you've got the gates open, simply leave the game. If not, stay calm and out of the killer's sight till you either get the totem or open a door.

Well even if it is, most survivors try to help and the killer catching them too, how is that fair? i could just camp all game every game waiting for survivors which coming to help and hit them.
camping ruins the game and by my believe should somehow be countered.
and stop voting up your comments xD
This is a strat that actually is somewhat optimized for Leatherface. Camping in and of itself really only ruins two things: Over enthusiastic altruism and the amount of time left to actually kill everyone else.
Camping already gets punished by a points drop, a slower time to sacrifice, and the game progressing with little attempts to the game down. That said, no one can agree on what camping is or how close you can get before you're camping. There are a ton of survivor mains who call you a camper if you even so much as walk towards the hook if you clock them running passed you to get the unhook. You get called a camper for walking over to gen to kick it and walking back through the hook cause it is the shortest path to another active gen. You get called for camping if you go and chase someone and come back because someone gets the unhook. You get called a camper for doing insidous builds, but the perk is one of the few stealth perks killers have and only works by standing still.

Who gets mad at gentapping?
-
Started today with 110000BP saved up. Over the course of a few games i used some offerings and played a few matches. Made about 200k points or so.
I had the same thing happen to me. It is most likely due to the game dying mid save process. I lost 90k bp and offerings a couple days ago.
-
Trapper is the most balanced. He doesn't excel at anything in particular, but he isn't really weak in any areas either. He can use traps to counter some loops and shorten chases. He's got decent movement speed and terror radius. His perks are all round useful and his addons give him proper boosts in the right place.
-
Using RBTs is more of a means to slow survivors down. Does it accomplish that? Debatable. Some games I can get them to slow way down dealing with hook saves and working on boxes rather than gens. Other games the traps are just barely even a bump in their gameplan. That said as pig you're never really hoping to get an RBT kill until the end game, but honestly the best use is to make them go do jigsaw boxes and harass them into wasting time. Pig also does better sometimes if you just leave a trapped person on the floor. Let them bait their teammates in to heal and ambush them. Get two people trapped at one time at most and down them again to go for hooks. Others will make the save and then you just get them on death hooks. Save two traps for endgame. Get one down trap them and hook them. Or Throw them in the exit and run away from them enough to break chase. That can cause a RBT death or bait the last survivor.

Extract the cancer from the following and you will see less DC:- Legion / Doctor / Every Killer that isn't Freddy (because he is the only fairly balanced killer in game)
- P2W
- One Shot
- BBQ Cheese (Scrublord 'I win' button)
- Noed (Another Scrublord 'I Win' button)
- Face Camping (Impossible)
- Tunneling (Also Impossible)
- Killer Default Easy-Mode, Hand-Held, Babied, Crutch option for all the extra Special snowflakes (Never going to happen)
- Killers with absolute total control over latency via a broken one sided hosting system that favors KIllers (Not in our life time)
How is this game remotely Pay2WIn? Survivors have more aura reading perks than killer ever have and they have very little conditions and two of them trump EVERY form of Killer stealth. BBQ ain't that bad considering killer only gets 4 seconds of info. Freddy isn't fairly balanced at all. He's just weak in every aspect of the game except endgame. His power doesn't help with chase or map pressure or even kill securing. His power is literally just that he can play the game as an average killer. Dedicated servers will nullify the p2p latency issue. NOED is probably the best balanced it has ever been and most of the time killers don't really need it. If you want to talk about crutch options then let's start talking about insta-heals, SB, adrenaline, flashlights, Current DS, Deliverance, to name a few.
Removing any of the things you listed or that I have responded with wouldn't decrease the amount of DCs.

a growing slugging issue soon to be made worse by the decisive re-work. Bc laying on the ground is hella fun, ya feel me? SO MUCH FUN🙄🙄🙄 Maybe I’ll just get good and never get caught lololololol Bc death rates for survivors aren’t already high af, now we will be able to play army crawl simulator tooo. wooohoo!Slugging is a product of the state of a game in which in order to slow the game down it is more effective to get at least two people down before hooking. Survivors are either running through gens or being ultra greedy with altruism saves to the point where rather than be vulnerable during a pickup or hook killers would rather slug. DS rework won't increase slugging. It will actually decrease tunneling and slugging because once you get hooked that first time killer's gonna let you run and deal with someone else till they can hook you again.

I consider Nurse to be below Freddy and Legion, I have no issue with Nurse, easy killer to loop and run from, slow speed and no one really lands a hit with Nurse except Nurses with MASSIVE amounts of hours and rank 1's, she is only good for speeding around the map, but there are plenty of other killers that can do that and are more effective.Someone please explain to me how some people rate Nurse a S tier killer.
The nurse is a high skill cap killer. When she is played correctly she can't really be stopped from killing survivors. She can not be looped, her map pressure is is immense, she synergizes well just about any perk that's ever been in the meta and her travel distance on blink far surpasses Billy's dash, Spirit's haunting, and is much more consistent that Hag's teleport. The tier list reflects killers played at their absolute best at the highest levels of the game. The fact you're seeing "Battle Nurses"(Nurses whom actually walk) is due to being in a rank where people do not have the experience to properly use her.
-
Ruleset two for Amanda. Stab wound study for Legion. Thompson mix for Billy. Maple Knight for doc. Beerus poison for Huntress. Nothing for myers.
-
Slugging is one of the better ways to actively slow the game down. Ruin is nice if it lasts more than 30 seconds. Gen destroyer builds are fun, but not good enough to deal with rush strats at higher levels. Slugging also gets survivors to play suboptimal by making them stop to pick someone up which is great for getting into quick chases and hits.
-
It's accurate to what it sounds like when you're actually using a chainsaw. That thing is loud as heck.
-
I will always use urban evasion. The best way to get jobs done is not getting tracked in the first place. Also at max level urban movement is faster than walking by a bit which is great. You urban around do gens, you urban to the lockers to dodge BBQ, and when the coast is clear you burn SB to get someone off the hook and urban away like a ghost in the night. Urban isn't the bad guy here. It is just people who fail to do anything worthwhile.

Being stealthy is hard with so many aura and similar reading perks. How do you see wraith in pitch black maps, I don't want to waste a perk slot on stupid spine chill or something. If Wraith is moving you see the shimmer outline regardless of map. Your best option is to be stealthy and start moving around the map tapping gens. Killers can't be every where at once. So give them as much stuff to slow the down as possible. You start tapping gens and that means every possible gen is getting progress on it and eventually you'll get all of them to a point where you can easily pop five and leave. There is also the option of running keys so you can pop the minimum number of gens and when someone dies. Start playing for team hatch escape. Object of obsession is also a strong counter to having limited killer awareness.
-
These are all interesting ideas, but you have to factor in a few things. Currently, the game state doesn't really allow for this sort of implementation. You can't really tell exactly why someone disconnects and with the game being p2p a lot of the backend tracking isn't really there. Maybe when dedicated servers come in that would set a base for that sorta stuff. Honestly, even the time delay doesn't really sway many from dcing if they do it constantly. You see it in many other games with better matchmaking and stricter ban reasoning. DBD is sort of the wild west when it comes to dealing with bad actors it seems which even incentives don't calm down the issues. Lately, the dc's have gotten much more frequent and I don't know how you could force someone to not just alt f4 the game and just start it back up.
-
Myers, Leatherface, and Wraith are my favorites in terms of looks. Freddy lacks his characteristic devious smile which is a big mood killer. Pig looks spot on as well.

I agree Dying Light should be reworked, to slow down gen rushes without condemning the obsession to an immediate death.NEW DYING LIGHT.
You become obsessed with one Survivor. Each time you hook or kill a Survivor, you gain a Token, if the Obsession is still alive or has escaped. Each Token gives all Survivors who are not the Obsession a penalty of 2/3/4% to Repair, Healing and Sabotage speed. Each Token increases the Obsession's Repair, Healing and Sabotage speed by 3/4/5%.
That's a strategic perk: the killer must slow down the Obsession's work without killing them, to gain more tokens during the trial.
There is no real benefit for the killer to run this rework you've proposed. You're telling the killer to let the obsession go for a minimal slow down that can be easily nullified. Also the obsession just gets to be a gen jockey with a boost that is going to stack with toolboxes, other perks and addons. This actively defeats the point of Obsession perks for the killer. You're meant to gamble your time on the obsession for substantial benefit. Your rework just tells the killer to not bother at all. The obsession doesn't have to fear being hard targeted and gets a boost for letting teammates die. At that point you might as well just tell the survivor to run Sole Survivor.

It's not an issue that they can be destroyed. It is the way in which they are destroyed that I take issue with. Why would shining light on a rune craved into the ground break it? At least the firecrackers actually make more sense as they could be reasoned to disturb the ground. You can also just crouch through them, or set them off on maximum range and be relatively safe, but that takes forethought to do. Yet, shining a flashlight on the ground just destroying it makes very little sense. It would make more sense if it highlighted that the trap was there.

There is no joy in camping the hook. It is just a thing that some people do to grief you. I'll camp you if your team has powered the gate and opened the door. If the door is closed i won't bother with the extra hassle of camping. Once that door opens. We're gonna wave bye to your friends together if need be. Though, usually I've got the kills I need to score well and if someone escapes its fine.

Being a P3 Claudette, it doesn't matter what you wear you're gonna be a priority target. Claudette is hard to find on most maps. If you can get rid of her and she's clearly the skilled one on the team then you're gonna see a lot of killers either tunnel till death or just straight leave you for last.I wear bright clothes. She could have left me for last. And ignored me. It's not like my team would have got a gen regardless of whether she did or didn't. They didn't deserve that fcking hatch either. They all played like trash. Any other team would have had me all the gens done and straight out of those gates.
You've got that wrong. The game doesn't care about who deserves what and if you're relying on your team to get you out then you're approaching things the wrong way. Getting tunneled sucks, but can you say that you used all the options you had at your disposal to avoid being in line of sight? Did you put is gen jockey time or did you get stuck in chases? The team being trash is its own problem, but plenty of people survive while dealing with tunnels, camps, moonbrain teammates, etc. You had a bad game and that blows, but you're responsible for your performance. If you can keep a killer active for 3mins then you can lose them just as easily and do gens.

Personally i see nothing wrong with dodging until dedicated servers come in.Right now there is Zero ping checks before joining, think a killer wants to play against a team of survivors with 300+ ping? no thanks.
Dedicated servers actually have no impact on the matchmakign at all.
If im not allowed to dodge the toxic squads in lobby anymore, then I will simply DC ingame. Thats fine for me
Yes they would, because dedicated servers would allow the game to sort people by region which in turn would increase the likelihood you get a game with pings similar to your own, which they can't now because the killer is the host.
What?
Dedicated servers have nothing to do with matchmaking. In fact you can sort people by region and then let them play a peer to peer game too, but we dont have enough players for that I guess. My point is right now they DON'T do that and right now there are 25k players right now playing this game it's peak today so far was 27k the amount of players has nothing to do with it.
It's far easier to matchmake with the dedicated servers so they have reason to do it then which they don't currently.
Explain me how dedicated server affect matchmaking
When setting up dedicated servers rules can be implemented on how to handle various connections from multiple regions. Such all of NA playing only against NA and EU only playing against EU. This means that the ping mediation needed would be much less. To take this even further, with dedicated servers you have the ability to push back-end and front-end updates that would add new ways to join, search, and create games. Currently, we depend on the killer for matchmaking at random. Dedicated servers would allow a universal lobby where 5 players join and then one player is selected to be the killer and rest are survivors. This cuts down lengthy dodge windows and wait times.

I get called a camper on a regular basis because even though they have done all the gens and opened the doors I hook someone I catch close to the door and wait for their team to come rescue them. Like, it isn't my fault you didn't heal sooner or thought you needed to cleanse that extra dull totem. If you all exit the gate the most I'm gonna do it hit you once and you're free to go. Yet, they'll call me a camper if I'm hanging out with their pal on the hook basically saying "Get the guy off the hook plz".
Once I was playing doctor and told "Daily complete, Lose one game as Doctor". Like I just needed the shocks and I didn't even have any real perks. I get called scummy for playing Legion, but most of the time survivors kill themselves with bad plays since I am terrible at legion. Can't follow blood to save my life or break chase so Deep Wounds never works for me. Oh, been told of kill myself before after a game. In short this game is lovely and everyone is great and friendly all the time....
-
Moonwalk isn't a scum tactic. They came prepared to play as hard as possible and you responded by shifting up a gear. If they can't handle a moonwalking killer then the problem is on them. They're just salty they got outplayed by a basic oldschool technique.
-
When you run dying light you are also supposed to be running Ivory mori.

You should not be playing this game with 700+ping. It produces a bad experience for yourself and other players. Now, what you describe isn't lag switching per se, but people aren't going to come to the forum and see this post. Even if they did they'd not think twice about reporting you so err of the side of caution and avoid playing if you can't keep your ping at reasonable levels.

The killer side needs to be fixed. We all know that, but doesn't change the fact that we shouldn't be fighting other survivors and fighting the killer as well. The grind is bad enough as is. Even more so for us killer mains. Killing sucks more than usual right now. Low event points, more gen rushers, the return of old school toxic survivors and trolls. Not to mention the only way to have any gains or fun right now is survivor and the one thing that was making team work more common than usual just got axed? Lovely.
-
Which kinda sucks cause it sorta killed any team cooperation around getting the lanterns. Now you gotta fight teammates for them and that means maybe letting a teammate with a lantern getting hooked so you can snatch their lantern. Go BHVR. Killing teamwork without killing actually issues.
