I get that. But where's the effort in camping or tunneling? The first hit is basically a free hit.

Yeah, it's always free, especially if they're in the middle/outer range of your terror radius and rocking DH/SB.

    Makes sense ;3

Since the perk now uses DW, there's literally ZERO reason not to tunnel the person that was unhooked, as the amount of effort in downing the unhooker (if they're healthy) is literally the same, without the potential of the unhooked BT survivor going down for you to search for after you get the unhooker. Plus, they're up a hook state, which instantly makes switching a bad move now.

It also provides extra incentive to camp the BT user out of the game on the first hook, as you'll lose more than two minutes restarting a chase from scratch (thanks to the DW) over multiple unhooking instances.

I don't initiate a fight here but you make absolutely no sense.

In the first paragraph, you say that tunneling the hooked survivor is better because him and his rescuer takes the same amount of effort. Why would you tunnel the hooked person if not it is easier? If we are talking about hook states, it is the same before the change. Borrowed time change doesn't affect it.

After this you say that BT user should be camped. Then why on earth, have you tunneled the first person? Get the borrowed time user and camp him instead of tunneling the unhooked survivor.

It seems to me you are just salty and throwing

How am I going to know that someone is running Borrowed Time without hitting the unhooked survivor first?

Why would I go for the uninjured survivor if I don't have this information?

  • @Khalednazari said:
How is going for an injured BT survivor is the same effort as going after a healthy unhooker? O.o

They both take 2 hits to down immediately after unhooking and they're both an equal distance from the killer at the time of unhooking.

TBH, the ideal counter-play would probably be to target the BT user (once you know), and just camp them out of the game.

  • "While not in a chase, the Deep Wound timer will tick down – even while using the Mend action. As long as The Survivor continues to mend, the timer will not progress past 99% and will not go into the dying state."

They almost made a viable change, but then they remembered that the game can be pretty spooky without someone holding your hand :3

"Mend, Snap out of it, and Wake up, are no longer considered healing actions, and as such, will not be affected by perks that refer to healing."

...Then they went full Loco to stop all those crazy complaints filling up the board regarding these actions and their interactions with various perks ;3

He doesn't half the amount of hits to down someone, but double. XD

Actually, we see him more as a delayed insta down killer.

I can only assume that there are some decent buffs en route.

Borrowed Time is getting a nice buff to help against the killers who camp and tunnel. So hopefully this will encourage killers not to focus one person.

I'd rather have none of those ez cheese strats be the strongest tools available. Playing a close, fun game is what dbd should become. Not "Camping is legit, just rush gens next time. Facecamp is counterable" yada yada its boring

Read the thread to know why camping is fair and make your own thread if you wish to discuss something else.

I read your stupid arguments and its a very biased opinion. even if you do everything wrong as killer, you get bloodlust and down them. As if its hard and skillfull to down survivors nowadays.

Maybe another Bloodlust nerf will turn that frown upside down :3

  • Does your EAC trigger on startup or when there's 15s left in the lobby?

    No?

    Play the game.

  • If it's a constant occurrence, I believe ACM/MODS can whitelist you.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if survivors get in-built Kindred 3 + Deliverance in the near future, with all the nerfs being afforded to "legitimate" playstyles.

Sounds reasonable and makes sense to me. Survivors needs a reason to heal against him, otherwise they all just stay injured and make him look stupid.

I think making him a burst killer would be really fun and unique, but he feels like a gimmick right now and when the illusion of your power making a difference shatters, he just loses his appeal. He does basically nothing.

Yea, but would it be fun to play against. You realize people need to have fun to play a game and to continue to play it, right?

With the changes he sounds pretty fun to play against to me.

I read your posts. One of the most biased individuals on these forums. I most certainly don't respect your opinion or what you would consider "fun".

    Says who? You?

The first defender of all biased survivors and imbalance in this game? Give me a break, if you think someone here takes you seriously, then it is just hilarious.

No one complains about OP/ UP guns in shooters, and they never get reworked, nope. Never happens in any of the CoD/BF games.

Capcom also never listens to fan/pro feedback, balancing characters to try to make them all viable. Because of this, SFV is definitely not one of the best balanced SF games of all time. As a serious side note, most of the DLC chars in SFV are mid-top tier with several of them occupying the top spots.

Every genre you've listed has frequent balance patches when necessary, barring the game dying off.

The only thing worse than trying to justify things with blanket statements is being blatantly ignorant in the process.
And yet there are always guns in every class of every shooter that are inferior to other guns. There are always characters in every fighting game that just aren’t as good or accessible as other characters.

And yeah, some of the SFV DLC is mid tier at best, just proves my point. And yet people will still use those characters.

Not every killer needs to be Akuma or Cammy.
Or Abigail, or Kolin, or Menat, or Guile, or G, or Balrog...

And with all these dlc powerhouses in the game, how many 7-3 matchups are there?

  • Survivor hits it while you have Enduring, runs into a decent loop, gets a freebie on a missed swing + cooldown, doesn't go for the pallet, doesn't go for the window, doesn't go for the exit directly in front of them to start to loop, and runs back towards you for no reason

If that's your typical DS experience, buy a lottery ticket.

  • DS is never OP when the survivor hits it while you have Enduring, runs into a decent loop, gets a freebie on a missed swing + cooldown, doesn't go for the pallet, doesn't go for the window, doesn't go for the exit directly in front of them to start to loop, and runs back towards you for no reason.

I think we're 100% in agreeance in this scenario.

    I don't see the issue.

No aura = Camp the survivor out of the game as it is about the same timewise as searching, winning a chase, and hooking another.

    Fair change, imo.

yeah but camping isn't particularly enjoyable is it?

The claws/PT don't actually increase your speed. What happens is that when you hit someone with sleep your speed is slowed by an amount. Claws reduce that amount, and PT removes it completely so that you move at your base speed when it hits a survivor.

    O_O

  • I can't wait until Campfest goes live!

  • Remember when Ono won that SFV tourney, or when Harada won that T7 tourney?

Weird that they're garbage at the games they've been spearheading for almost two decades.

    Weird :O

  • "Just go after the rescuer"

There's literally no reason to do this with the new BT, as you have to hit both the rescuer and the unhooked survivor 2x now.

If I'm forced to restart the chase, I'm obviously going for the person with fewer hooks left.

The incentive to disallow any unhooks/hard camp/tunnel is at an all time high :D
  • How does Distortion interact with Freddy?

Is it one token each time he walks into his aura reading range?

Deep Wounds would be better, imo, if either:

A ) The timer counted down during the mending process
    or
B ) As per Monto's suggestion, it required someone else to mend you

The second option plays into the killer's power/theme (grouping survivors), and provides a real drawback to the negative status effect, turning it from an inconvenience into a threat.

    I like this.
turning it from an inconvenience into a threat.
    ^^^

The Killer, in theory, is super fun, but the effect itself is not viable on an M1 killer with Hag's speed.

I've seen people say "just break Frenzy after the first hit."
Yeah, just take the stun, allow for distance, and try to not get wrecked as a powerless Hag.

  • @Janick
The Killer itself is fine and well designed, imo (though that may just be the exhilarating thrill of vaulting pallets speaking, haha).

The problem is that Deep Wounds is by far one of the least threatening status effects in the game.

If survivors couldn't just heal themselves out of Deep Wounds (need a medkit or ally), or the timer kept going during the actual mending process, The Legion would be able to apply the effect, break chase, and possibly have a chance of the survivor going down from the status effect.

Without add-ons, the effect itself is very non-threatening.

To add to this, you've replaced the threatening nature of Borrowed Time (already the meta rescue perk) with one of the weakest status effects in the game.

Oh so you want to trade one hook for 3 hooks? Awesome.

Oh, I've made sure that tunneling is no longer an option in my killer PTB games.

I appreciate the suggestion and implicit acknowledgment that perks such as Dying Light and Remember Me have received a minor nerf as a result.

Remember me is buffed by this. If you tunnel your obsession with Remember me, you only get 4 stacks. Try again.

You are confirming at the time of this posting hits while feral add tokens, such as in Remember Me?
    All hits add tokens, friendo.
  • If Deep Wounds were unique to The Legion, I think this patch would have been pretty balanced, even considering that lockers blocking auras makes it extremely easy to further mess with Freddy mains, haha.

I'd also personally prefer a different name than Deep Wounds, as they are by no means an ordeal to cleanse, unlike the name's implication.

How were those two perks nerfed?

Dying Light requires you to focus on making sure one Survivor dies ASAP. Remember Me requires hitting one Survivor multiple times.

Remember Me also strongly encourages tunneling to avoid the obsession providing counter play.

In all honesty, though, I'd be very surprised  to see this change go live, given the feedback, so I'm not too worried about it.
