Cause it gives the obsession Botany Knowledge for free...
Plus the unhook bonus
And by the time you get good use out of Dying Light the game is won or all the gens are done
If they wanted to make this perk more killer sided then maybe give bigger penalties per stack/ make the obsession work for the healing buff by healing the rest of the team
-
Ok that makes sense now

I don't think we're discussing the same issue. I am not talking about the times when a skill check procs a half second before you get off the gen, and therefore you miss it.
In what I am talking about, you're not getting off the gen in the middle of a skill check and therefore missing it. You get off the gen and THEN a skill check procs. But because the server recognizes you are off the gen, it does not allow you to even attempt to hit it. That is completely broken. If you do not agree with that, then agree to disagree.
Yea I've had that happen to me sometimes as well.... And yes that is a BHVR issue (lag and server sided)

It's only a bug if it wasn't intended to be that way. The only people who can answer that are OG players and Devs. But I have never heard anyone say Overcharge was ever any different. If you think it's a bug, I recommend reporting it in the forums so you can get an official response from a mod.
Because no one uses it.... I'm pretty certain it has been reported Overcharge has been bugged for years now

That is not an apples to apples comparison.
You are not being randomly and unexpectedly punished in any of those situations. You choose to stop an action, and the action stops. That's all that happens.
On this issue, the survivor chooses to stop an action. The action stops. But unlike the Killer, it doesn't end there. The Survivor then gets penalized with triggering a loud noise notification and regressing the gen. And they have no way to stop, predict, or counter it.
You just said what all of us wanted you to.....
"you stopped the action the action stops" so apply that to a survivor wanting to get off the gen and their you go... It doesn't matter YOu stop in the middle of a skillcheck then it's going to deem it missed

As far as I am aware (an OG DBD plater or mod would have to weigh in), that is not a bug. It is an intentional mechanic.
But even if it were bugged, does that negate the opinion that most of the commenters have? No. The way overcharge works is merely an illustration of how regular skill checks should work.
No it's bugged
You said it yourself... Normal skillchecks disappear and you get penalized for it that's what Overcharge was meant to be but it happens as soon as you touch the gen rather then whenever the game decides you face a skillcheck

I see it most often when:
- They chased one survivor through 3 to 5 gens
- The killer never managed to hook anyone
- It's a Nurse who can't blink properly, so you just hold W for 5 minutes while running around trees and objects
- It's a Wraith or Trapper
I recently played against a GF and a Pinhead who ran NOED... The Pinhead had Corrupt- Ruin-Deadlock-NOED all Tier 2... The GF had TOTH (He showed me the totem) I forget the other perks he had and NOED
The GF was chill like he didn't care about the match (often teabagging)... even sent us to Lery's... I think we all escaped (if I remember correctly)
The Pinhead was playing the newest Killer (obviously) so he had what he had... I died before it activated
-
So let me ask you all something.....
What if I use Pop... wait till the last second to use it should it work?
Or if I'm kicking a gen and stop at the last second should it blow up and start regressing?
Or if I go to hook someone and stop at the last second should the survivor be hooked? (I know you can't stop the hooking animation... I'm just saying)

But that's not what happens with Overcharge, and in this instance you get off the gen and then you get the skill check. You stopped the action prior to getting the skill check. The skill check either should never proc when you're off of it, or if it does, you should be able to complete it.
As I said previously Overcharge is bugged right now and allows you to complete the skillcheck while on the move and it shouldn't
The Devs aren't that concerned about it though so it only makes it worse....Why don't you think no one uses it
-
Letting go of a gen or stop healing causes the action to be shut down.... therefore if a skillcheck has started and you let go should cause you to fail the skillcheck due to you not working on whatever caused the skillcheck to happen in the first place
-
Overcharge is bugged to allow that to happen
But yea that is messed up happens to me sometimes and have seen it happen to other survivors while I'm playing killer and survivor
-
I mean yea they should but they won't due to this game be as messy as it is... which is ironic
If they had a team that fixed the game as new stuff is added then the patching schedule would change... in theory
Not to mention that new content is for older players that have 1 million BP with not much else to spend it on besides addons, offerings and items... which is a bit shady now that I say that out loud
What they need to do is redesign the game from the ground up... given what's actually wrong with the game in current state
-
I haven't played yet... But just like you I have seen some bad reviews of this patch/release
-
They are running out of ideas and licenses
And removing ST from the store in a few months doesn't look good
-
Honestly I get that at least 1-3 times before the new update
Plus I haven't played the new update yet (still downloading it)
-
On one hand you can say inexperience... I have faced Pig players whom do this
On the other hand the traps come off way to easily... from my experience
For me though I don't tunnel I treat traps as a marker to not chase
-
They should revert part of it (longer sabo)
Cause by the time you get the notification it's already sabo'd
-
Honestly there needs to be 3-5 perkless matches in order to get "skill" so the game can be as fair as possible
And yes there does need to be some sort of visible "Skill" rating on the side in the character select screen or somewhere
And I am afraid of there being a bottleneck of killers (certain killers being in "high skill" matches and those who play the not so high skill killers will be stuck in the not so high skill.... But we'll wait and see)
-
I don't use either one... I prefer Corrupt over those two
But Ruin has better regression then Pop (I know that Pop takes 25% off instantly but then it's normal regression after... which is .25 charges per second and Ruin has .50 charges per second
-
Ruin: is better now then it was before (but thanks to it's use some survivors are good at hitting great skillchecks) now it does take a killer to stop the survivors from completing a gen... plus with the regression only .50 charges per second it really is the best regression perk
Undying: again better now then before but still knowing it won't last long puts extra pressure on the killer to get some use out of it
Tinkerer: Shows which gen is near completion so it would be best to go to it and do something about it... plus 12 seconds of undectible can be used in chase (vary situational)
I don't use any of these perks BTW so do correct me if I am wrong
I use: Sloppy/Corrupt/BBQ/Whispers (sub out Sloppy for STBFL or Discordance)
-
Probably... Sloppy/STBFL/Corrupt/BBQ/Whispers
Or.... Sloppy/Surveillance/Corrupt/BBQ/Whispers
Or.... Sloppy/Discordance/Corrupt/BBQ/Whispers
Depends on what I want to during the match and who I'm playing as
-
Having the killer/survivor be the same person... Multiple personality syndrome (or something to that effect)
-
If you believe survivors are just skins and already have the perks then no don't even bother
Also if you played more killer then maybe
-
Yea... It happens to the killer side as well
-
Sloppy- Corrupt- BBQ- Whispers
I use Corrupt to hopefully start a chase as soon as possible
Whispers to know if there are any survivors in my TR
BBQ to know if some survivors are outside 40 meters
Sloppy to apply pressure... delay healing for as long as I can
-
Some survivors are only there for themselves (sorry to say)
-
For the foreseeable future... sad to say
And it will take more time to make changes
-
I didn't bring items in before but now I bring in a med-kit to heal myself (others if need be)
I don't use any other items
I also sit at around 500,000 BP so if I need to I have back up (survivors aren't leveled up to 50 and some killers aren't either... not prestiging anymore until they change it)
-

No it's fair and balanced. It's used to be OP. But since it's latest balance it's in a decent spot. Anyway if you think someone has DS either wait for it to go away, or eat it up.
Or you can pay attention to the healing done (if a survivor heals/gets healed then they don't have DS)
If you see someone come off of a hook but not looking to be healed chances are that they have DS
I would comment on Gen progression but survivors tend to save DS till the last second
-
I do just fine with Sloppy, Corrupt, BBQ, Whispers
On Pig of all killers

OR the killer can do what the hell they want, because they are the one in control of their actions.
The whole concept that it's only okay to slug, tunnel, or camp when x gens have been done is dumb.
Yea... but it takes common sense that people lack to fully understand that it does depend on timing (to have a good game)
-
As stated before it's when the killer slugs with 4-5 gens left... 3 is iffy
The same as camping with 4-5 gen left
Or tunneling with 4-5 gens left
It should be a thing in the game but people will take and use what's given to them
If there's 1-2 gens left the survivors "rules" go out the window (especially if the gens are done quickly)
-
Not to mention the killers that are being used....
But on another note... as stated before the survivor "meta" was strong for how long (and I mean Unbreakable/DS/DH/BT not the new one)
Us as players have to adapt to whatever is thrown- for killers it was facing Unbreakable/DS/DH/BT X4 and now it's survivors that do gens with similar builds then as survivors it is Tunneling/Camping/Ruin and Undying (with or without Tinkerer)/ NOED (even though that's been an issue)/ Not knowing who the killer is until you saw them or had a teammate call them out.... But not all at once (why would the killer run Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer/NOED)
-
I'd say a totem should spawn in the basement... just saying
So at what range does the killer need to be in order to receive the auras? (cause that's fair... IMO)

lotsa people complaining about how this and that MUST be nerfed or buffed would leave, cause it's not the changes they demanded
Yea... kinda figured
But still.... It still needs to be fixed (for the most part)
-
The Pig- (man I don't know what to pick) Ummmmm.... Corrupt (or Sloppy)
-
Depends... on if the game was a good one (or if it was one-sided)
-
Which makes you wonder.... What will happen if we did get the changes we need
-
It would be good to have.... to be able to look at certain situations
But I lose confidence when we are still dealing with bugs and glitches
-
I play a few matches... then quit
I don't overexert myself... I don't care what's said
I sand messages to those who are on Xbox... Good Game that's all
-
It's extra "competitive" in the red ranks
-
Pig.... SAW series fan
Feng Min... I honestly don't know why I picked her (lol)
-
Yea... I went through the same things (but I do realize that some things are meant to be "for balance") but gave up after realizing that it would be hard to do cause of the RNG involved
-
I would use it as well... but I don't have the other perks (that I feel I would need) or the playstyle... YET
I see Lucky Break as a good perk (except for the time restraints)
But I haven't want against LB at all... So I don't know how to play with it
-
I fell for ya OP
I wish you luck on whatever you do next
-
Yea I get it... Except for having similar builds... most of my survivors do run Kindred/Spine Chill (for the most part) I play so differently on other survivors
-
It makes sense though
The persuasion of people who say things like X killer is weak that killer isn't played as much.... Y killer is boring that killer isn't played as much
Z killer is strong that killer is played more
People will hop on the X,Y,Z train cause someone they watched shares that opinion
Would love to see a killer player do this (and some of them have done... I tried but got lazy... and too specific for my own good)

I think that makes it even. On PS4, they literally teleport, or I might end up backwards somehow. Ever 5.1.0 I haven't had it work in my favor once
Which is why I included DH.... cause it is a problem on both sides (a perk that needs to be fixed... No number changes though just the freezing, lagging and not working part)
DH is a decent perk for those who know how to use it... I don't cause I have my build and it works for me
-
1) Corrupt
2) BBQ
3) Whispers
4) STBFL
5) Discordance
6) Thrilling Tremors
7) Sloppy Butcher
Not in any particular order
-
Not really
-
It's because that team is meant for killers (and some survivors)... even though it's a both sides issue
"It's the same 4 perks" or "every killer camps and tunnels" "gens go to fast"
Even though it might be a higher skill thing (I am not apart of that)
But the use of certain perks/playstyles create the use of other perks/playstyles
