please... please reconsider all these weird changes. the players are obviously extremely upset, and understandably so. not even survivors want this. these changes are going to do more harm than good. people will leave if this game continues down the path its going. its not even with just this change. the past changes and potentially the future ones.
i love this game with all my heart, and i can feel that this is not the right call. i dont want this game to die, and i know you guys dont either. so please, take what we are saying to heart.
I'm sorry did you say nerf ruin and keep totem spawns as worthless as ever. You got it, man we really are in touch

I'd definitely suggest giving it a try first. My initial reaction is that remove the hex condition would make it far too strong. Combining it with Surveillance means you can see exactly which generators are being worked on at all times, and you can tell exactly when someone gets off the generator. If you aren't able to cleanse it, you wouldn't stand a chance.
Maybe instead of removing a perk why not just try it out on the PTB only and see the feedback then. Instead of forcing the changes down our throats and then never touching the perk again for months once it hits the live server (it's been 8 months and Legion still isn't even done being reworked, his addons are completely worthless for the most part). Not to mention why not improve totem spawns first if you want this totem to even have a hope of reaching the later half of the game.

I think there will need to be a little more change to make the perk good, but I think it's taking the perk in a better direction than what it was.
Nah there won't, they never touch things after a nerf or a buff. Just what BVHR does

In case the killer pushes you off. If they show up at your generator and start chasing you, it's going to regress (and fast). The only way you can prevent that is by cleansing the totem, otherwise you're taking that risk for the whole game. Otherwise if they hook a survivor, you need to choose between getting the unhook and losing progress or finishing the generator.
Oh ok so now as a survivor I'll have to watch my teammates do a gen across the map while I'm on hook about to go to second phase because they put gen progress before being a decent teammate. This will work great in the 20-15 ranks especially, Can't wait to see even more people complaining teammates left them to die on first hook.

I’m not sure how many games I’ve played, but all 4 survivors are not running around looking for the totem. As a survivor and as a killer.
Not all 4, usually one or two people will just power through it while 2-3 people instead look for the totem. It's a great perk because it slows down early game progress while putting others who are looking for the totem at risk rather then just sitting at a gen like everyone will now.

If it doesn’t last more than 30 seconds, why #########? It’s technically useless then.
As I said, I'll take 30 seconds of people running around looking for a totem rather than have the same people just sit at a gen. Btw if it was useless they wouldn't be nerfing it, would they

@Bjario said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/969182#Comment_969182
Then use corrupt intervention, gives you alot more than 30 seconds.
Corrupt doesn't stop people from walking 20 feet to the next gen and getting to work immediately. So by the time it runs out you'll still have decent progress on other gens and now those three gens are open. Ruin stopped people from doing gens almost entirely with usually only one person working through it. As short as it lasts it did corrupts job much better
-
@Bjario said:
Why would you care about this change if it only lasts for 30 seconds anyway?
Because that 30 seconds gave you time to try get the ball rolling without worrying too much about gens flying.

Yes the 85% moderate at red ranks is too much but the same or close to this precedent are perk like DS ,DH,BT so why don't you nerf those perks why out thinking about the reason why used so much and how you can change it to help the game.
Yes it's a overreaction and a joke at the same time but the problem stay the same you dob solve nothing and only make it worse , at least give us precedents that make sense.
You fool, you're not allowed to complain about survivor perks even if you play survivor. It goes against the survivors rulebook

@altruistic said:
Nobody cares if you leave the game.
80%+ of players using the perk, just as Self Care did. It needed to be nerfed, sorry to bring you back to reality.
Yeah why did it need to be nerfed, because it slowed the game down for 30 seconds? That's about how long it always lasts because totem spawns are garbage. There's a difference between nerfing a perk that can heal you about as fast as getting healed by another person and made medkits almost irrelevant if you ran the perk and nerfing a perk that lasts 30 seconds and you're left with 3 perks the rest of the game (which as weak as ruin will be will still be plagued with the same problem). You're delusional bud

Im thinking about using this perk on her with pgtw, dying light, and thano (I don't like using ruin on her) so that i have a window where I don't have to worry about exhaustion perks. The main problem is that i've put over 40 lvls past her max lvl with p3 and I have yet to see the perk, its as if the game does not want me to have it. So before I put even more blood points into her for this perk i was wondering if anyone has used it on her and if its good since survivors will always be injured and almost always have an exhaustion perk for blood echo to take affect.
I would run it, I do it on Legion and it makes a big difference. Almost everyone is running dead hard or sprint burst at rank 1 atm and if they don't have an exhaustion perk they're a weak link and are a freebie anyways. Snowballing against people who are permanently injured and getting exhausted a lot is very strong. Dying light is complete trash and should not be used especially over thana.

I'm having more and more games like this where from the start, the killer is using the three gen strat and will not chase. I could see a counter to it if I were SWFing and could get some help, but I spend the entire game trying to get one done, and being chased off, when my teammates have no idea whats going on and get all the gens done outside the area.
Is there any counter to this as a solo player with teammates who don't realize what's going on? And is anyone else seeing this more and more? It's getting to the point where every time I play, it's several games in a row that killers are doing this from the start, and like I said, as a solo survivor, what do I do (besides just kill myself to get out of these boring games)?
Is this a result of the challenges making the game awful and killers just want to kick x amount of gens in a game and therefore it's happening SO MUCH MORE frequently as the challenges are wrapping up? I didn't touch the game for three days because I was so tired of this, and two out of my last three games have had this happen.
As solo the only thing you can try to do is keep working on one gen while the killer isn't looking and then run/hide when they start to come back and if you have to run them do your best to try and make them go to the other side of the map and don't waste pallets you'll need that are close early. Long process but by the time your teammates 3 gen themselves the killer will have to bounce between the gen you've been pressing and whatever gen the randoms throw themselves at.

I feel like it's getting harder and harder to survive in Red ranks. As a Survivor I feel so powerless to stop my team from getting downed in 5 seconds just like the Shack pallet. We're at that point where a red rank doesn't know borrowed time exist. Even playing as a Killer I get easy wins and I can only complain about SWF because those are the people playing like their actual ranks. It's just pallet drop after pallet drop and run in a straight line.
Please buff Survivor brain, Thanks.
Love the sarcasm that 90% of everyone missed.

She went from being hated by survivors and loved by killers to just being hated all around. You cant play her anymore with that cooldown on high rank, I mean you barely could before the cooldown nerf because survivors at rank 4 and below know how to break line of sight but now its just impossible to ever catch someone.
Nurse was a guess game from the start, as soon as someone breaks line of sight all the nurse can do is guess whereas survivors with their superior third person vision can see you around corners. There was no reason to give her power a cooldown, absolutely none. Look at her stats now, she went from being the most liked killer to the least liked one. I feel like my sister was abused bruh....
Hmm I wonder why, survivors did a hit job on this killer because she was strong and now she's garbage, there's a reason Nobody plays or even talks about her, the Nurse playerbase is dead and I have only ever seen one person play her (and he failed miserably btw). She needed nerfs but they totally killed her. After watching Zubat run her with the 3 blink all I could think of was "Wow, what a garbage killer, I could do better with my no addon Legion." Best part is Zubat was a huge Nurse main and would play her frequently, now he'll only play her on a paid request, that might tell you something huh.

I won't lie, you're playing him very wrong. You need to switch up all of those perks, brutal strength is garbo get rid of they, Noed is 3 perks all game till the end, Bbq isn't necessary on Legion as his power gives you a lot of information. Run Ruin, Pop, Thana, and (Bloodecho, Bamboozle, or M&A). You will never win as Legion if you don't spread out the pain and make full use of your slowdown potential. Yea, you're wrong. You know what's lame? Lobby dodging once you see a map offering that you don't like WHILE the game is loading up. Stop making excuses for killers who don't get their way because you're showing that you clearly have a bias.
"Wow you don't wanna play a match where the survivors dictate what map we go to and thus can prepare for it meanwhile I have no way of knowing and my build/killer power can be completely shattered by that map, you're totally biased against survivors, how dare you". Same goes for killers, don't run moronic builds that only work on the smallest maps in the game and then get upset when people don't wanna play your match because it's rigged against them.

Hello
I am well aware that this is a very subjective and a bit complicated topic since on some killers a certain perk might be really good while it is on other killers bad or almost useless. It also depends a bit on each ones playstyle, so feel free to disagree and let us know what you think. I am pretty sure, there is some room for debate ;)
I was judging the perks by its own, but also kept in mind the potential when combined together.
Also: S Tier are the best Perks, E are the worst. Left side best perk of a certain Tier, right side worst perk of a certain tier.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/430/LC1CYIB21RIK.png
Note: BBQ was judged by its effect, not Bloodpoints. If i would have takenfarming into consideration, it would be an S Tier perk for sure.
Kind regards
Only things I disagree with is bloodecho being in the same tier as Zanshin Tactics, Light born needs to go down a tier or two, Haunted Grounds is questionable where it's at but on some killers it's amazing so I understand it's placement.

You played a great game so far. You helped multiple people off of hooks and even healed a few. You completed a generator by yourself and co-oped a few others. You even opened an exit gate. Then BAM! killer catches you. NOED is active, of course. Next thing you know, you're on a hook. But wait, this is your first time being on the hook all game, the gate is open, you have Deliverance! Redemption is one button away....
Nope, sorry, straight to "struggle" and you don't even get points for that, straight to the entity you go.. Because no one else is alive.
Does this make sense? End game collapse already shortened the heck out of the games, so it can't be for time savings. Why not give the last survivor a full chance like everyone else got?
I won't lie, just a waste of time at that point I just wanna get the game over with and move on. If you wanna give the last guy something give him 1k survival if they had the most score (meaning they didn't just sit in the back and do nothing to try and get a free escape)

I understand in them situations but I'm talking about nobody anywhere near the hook. Like really far away so it would be impossible for scratch marks to be anywhere. I know through bond and walking and crouching a safe distance away. I feel like everybody is skipping over this part of what I'm saying
I get what you mean but the thing is maybe they saw someone else's, that does happen quite often, sure you might've been vigilant but maybe there was some other clown who wasn't
-
@CrummyCookie said:
The whole "I saw scratchmarks around the hook so I stayed around and looked for the other survivor. " I'm not saying this doesn't happen but in almost all cases that I've seen when a killer has used this excuse there is no scratchmarks anywhere and they just want to camp around the hook. I know this because often I walk towards the hook and make sure I leave no scratchmarks and run bond sometimes and see no teammates anywhere nearby. Yet the killer will still lie and say "I saw scratchmarks so I'm not going to leave until I find them"
Almost like we do see the scratch marks you can't see, and we can see if someone stopped running last minute because those marks tend to sprawl out on tree's and buildings higher than you'd think (reasons why predator sucks). Not to mention there's a good chance he saw nobody with BBQ/gens worked on with thrilling tremors which is a very solid tell that someone is getting ready to save as soon as you leave. Another reason people will camp hook expecting someone to be there is if people autosaved people off the hook in the past as soon as the killer looked away and walked for a second (which people are still dumb enough to do).
-
I'd have to say Doc is more useless, against solo players Legion is a nightmare revealing everyone over and over again making them mend and heal just for it to be for nothing is punishing. While I get what you mean and it is a very fair point I did actually see it happen once, this smurf squad I was with felt bad that they bullied a baby hag so one of them let herself get hooked when the gate was already open, even I gave that hag 2 hooks mid game. I think part of it comes down to survivors making 5000-6500 score for escaping and killers make like 600-800 something for a kill.

In terms of loops and chases,not size which would you rank as the top 5 worst killer maps for chases in the game?Not looking at size just the safety of all loops and the amount of em.
I'd have to say the worst maps (without talking about size which is a big issue with certain maps like Thompsons) I've seen for killers tend to be the the swamp map with the large house. Haddonfield if people are running balance, if they aren't it's not that bad. I personally despise Gas heaven but that might be just be I just don't see how a map with a very safe building (if you leave as soon as you're in TR), unmindgameable pallets everywhere, and two massive walls that make gen patrolling take forever. I know a good chunk of people hate Ironworks for obvious reasons. Yeah that's about all the maps I can say I see people or myself don't like, I can personally deal with the rest of them and have a good game.
-
@gantes said:
Out of all the maps in the game Gas Heaven is one of the last ones you should be complaining as killer but OK
Comparing that to the Ironworks window... You ok bro? Gas Heaven middle building is one of the most balanced in the game
Maybe it's just personal preference but I have way better games on Ironworks than on Gas Heaven, the lack of mindgame potential across the map and the needless wall of cars that make gen patrolling take an eternity, good chance it's because I play killers with weak powers that require being good at mind games in order to win and less reliance on a power because playing trapper or hag on this map has worldly different results than playing killers like Legion, Clown, and Bubba. I can make those mediocre killers work on any other map from Haddonfield to swamp, I just can't do it there. The thing about Ironworks is the rest of the map is pretty well balanced with a good mix of unmindgameable loops and mindgameable ones.

I don’t play Oni due to his “uniqueness” and “originality”. And he is literally an m1 Killer from the very start, it’s so funny to play m1 Killer for the majority of the trial. And you lose your ability while picking up, so you forced to slug - it’s not my tactic.
I didn’t even touch Yui, her perks are trash/too situational, and her voice actor is awful.
I bought it for the perks, Nemesis is an amazing tool and blood Echo is a decent perk on Legion seeing as it punishes people for not healing against him.

The building never spawns with two windows and no opening in the middle. It just simply does not happen. I have never seen it before and will never see it.
I meant no back door, always a front door but you can get a spawn where there is no backdoor and a window at the side of the building to the left of the basement with no door near by.

There's literally always an opening between the two window vaults? Are you okay? Is walking down the middle to cut off a window hard for you? It's okay I understand, you're a legion player.
Wrong there's not one always there dick, you can get a spawn where there is No Backdoor and a window at the side of the building. My bad for playing a killer that requires you to mindgame and outplay the F out of people in order to win. Not that you'd know anything about that, brainlet
-
@badster said:
What? Gas heaven isn't bad at all. You obviously did not play before it's nerf.
I just explained why it's bad, just because one part of it was reduced years ago doesn't make it good. As I already said the main building is stupidly safe (especially considering there's a free gen in there with 2 possible pallets just inside the building), the great walls of China that make gen patrolling take an eternity, and then a guaranteed Crane/Bus added on to that just make it miserable. Not to mention you can still get a bunch of pallets in the middle if you're unlucky and run the killer through them for at least a gen or two. It's not good by any stretch. No other map has those problems all together (and the middle pallets are completely unmindgameable against anyone even semi competent meaning you either drop the chase or just suffer through it).

@Almo said:
The Killer Instinct addons aren't "useless". Maybe you don't like them, and that's totally cool! But some people do like them. :)
No, they're awful and I have never heard a single person say they like them let alone use them more than once because all other addons do more. 1st problem is when you hit someone and you see two people in different directions you have no idea how far they can be half the time, Susie's mixtape makes this problem even worse, I don't want to see and run after someone who can be 48 meters away meanwhile there's someone far closer to me who I can hit, recharge my power, and probably be able to hit someone else, your power time doesn't let you hit them in time if they're more than 32 meters away and they have a brain meaning all you did was leave someone (who's already done mending by the time your power is done so they aren't wasting time anymore usually) just to find some who's not injured across the map and leaving you as a 115% killer with no power left because you spent it all sprinting across the map just to change targets.
2nd almost all other addons have more effect: blades slightly (and I mean slightly) slow the game down a little rewarding you for getting lots of frenzy hits, cooldown addons make your power less forgiving for survivors, duration addons can make you sprint across the whole map (and actually get hits unlike Susie's mixtape, double duration is amazing and no detection range addon can hold a candle to how useful they are), the pins can severely punish people early game for bunching together and give them pretty hefty status effects, iridescent button gives you one of the fastest pallet breaks in the game (AND does detection range addons job by letting you see anyone on the map), recharge addons ease the punishment of making mistakes like missing a hit or getting stunned by quite a bit, and Fuming mixtape while honestly very weak can at least give you some game saving/snowballing info by directly telling you gen progress. The only addons that do less are notorious for being absolutely useless specifically Frank's mixtape and Stab Wounds Study (lol 5 seconds off a timer that can go indefinitely now even out of Terror radius). The only use for Susie's mixtape aside from chasing the wrong person by accident is being used on an M&A build (which when in chase makes your detection range needlessly gigantic).
Long read but honestly detection range addons are either very niche or plain worthless and honestly isn't worth keeping in the game over something like making missing less punishing or frenzy speed, and Almo if you did read through all that and hear me out, thanks.

I thought that's how most maps are in dbd.
No not most of them, a lot of maps are fairly balanced like a majority of the Macmillan maps, a few of the farm maps, the copy+paste Preschool maps, Sanctum of Wrath, Ormund, Father Campbell's church are all kinda balanced (some more than others). This game is about one team being better than the other, not one team is a bit worse than the killer but it's ok we got a super easy map and I don't even need balanced to make it brutal like Haddonfield. If it's that bad shouldn't it be touched up a bit? I'm not trying to sound mean/rude towards you and I apologize if I'm coming on like that, I'm just frustrated with the map design

I don’t get it. Not everyone has the skill to loop, so why is it bad that a survivor tries their best to stay out of the killers LOS? I mean, as long as they’re doing objectives like working on generators or cleansing totems? Heck, I spend plenty of matches having to traverse the maps to unhook people because people keep getting caught and no one else is trying to save them.
Don’t get me started on the impatient survivors who wiggle their arms at me trying to make me hurry. I’m sorry, I don’t have BT, so I don’t want to unhook you and let the killer farm. Especially when I could still see him or Spinechill is still lit up! You even have survivors who demand I heal them at the hook that I just unhooked them from. Seriously, would it kill you to sneak away to a safer location for me to heal you. Do you live chases so much that you want to leave scratch marks that lead to me healing you? Even when it’s obvious that the killer will come back (Spirit, Hillbilly, Invisible Chicken Legs) they still insist I stay exposed for their sake.
Even the devs seem to not promote it since I could play perfectly and accomplish more goals than anyone else in the match and yet have less blood points because I didn’t get in a chase or hit the killer with every pallet on the map! (After playing killer for a bit, I kinda feel bad to use pallets or blind, I know I shouldn’t, but I do).
More equality for the Bush People please! We deserve respect! We also deserve all the butt rubs you can give!
Thank you for taking the time to read this rant, have a blessed day!
P.S. Devs, I would also like a bush costume like Fortnite provides. It will complete my ascension to full Bushette status.
Easy question, nobody on Earth wants to play with people who urban evasion across the map to unhook you meanwhile you've already hit second state and oh look they were found and grabbed out of the locker they desperately hid in.

The way they explained it in the stream, it's basically because lobby dodging costs more time for everyone involved. Since they're in the middle of trying to improve matchmaking and queue times, it seemed counterintuitive to allow a feature to remain in the game which made that issue even worse.
I'd rather waste 20 seconds of my time finding a new lobby then wasting my time playing with the highest ranked people I can meet and get dunked on because I have 0 support meanwhile I'm the only guy near my killers rank. I'm good but I'm not good enough to carry 3 useless sacks of (no no word) against a half decent spirit. Even as killer it didn't even bother me, I get it people don't want to play with people not near their rank (above or below), it was a great way to know if you're in a balanced match or at a disadvantage, it was worth the small amount of time wasted playing killer (which I main)
