Okay, sorry that last killer didn't give you hatch buddy lol. But after 5 hours of continuous killer gameplay tonight I just thought it was odd how the only survivors who were quitting mid-game via open-space tea bagging or disconnecting after their down were console players. Was thinking maybe I missed something in gameplay or whatever, I even thought maybe I was being too harsh as a killer--but oyu wanna take this as a big personall afront to ALL survivors somehow lol.
That's weird because in my games there is a good mix of both console and pc players who dc, especially after 1st down for players with a cross platform icon on their name. I'm a console player.
Just because there is a globe on their name though could just as easily be steam, stadia or windows store. It doesn't necessarily mean console just as ps4/5 could also mean xbox or Switch and not pc.
-
I agree. I have noticed more survivors during ecg running into zombies to get that infection speed boost to get to the gates safely. Or at least to people near the gates to body block.
-
I think they should give full bp regardless.
Let us take the seemingly never ending grind a bit more chill after many bad matches with real people.

what a sad world we live in when a lone survivor cant trust a ruthless killer to let them escape :(
That made me chuckle lol.
-
I think hatch should stay but only spawn when one survivor is left or all gens done. This follows the horror trope of final girl/guy.
I'm not even going to talk about keys lol
-
The problem is trust has been shattered between survivors and killers, especially since some drop them near hatch to close it in their face. I hate that and I play killer.
Sometimes if I hit something with my weapon a couple of times then swing in the air at nothing the survivor won't struggle, then they get hatch. However if they have not bothered taking notice of me abusing the environmental objects and struggle then it's to the nearest hook they go, unless hatch is between us and the hook.
-
Yeah, sorry it does say you will lose all items when it asks you to confirm the prestige.
-
Neither, I'm terrible with ranged killers lol. I would say Deathslinger would be easier for me though since the aim into fire is quicker.
-
I got it too and quickly dc'd, which is not something I normally do, because I detest that map.
-
Both PS5 and Series X but I couldn't choose two. PS5 is my main though.
-
It doesn't get any better the higher rank you go I'm afraid. Yes gens can go too fast especially if they split up. A lot of my trials have not lasted more than 5 minutes since the event started.
Not sure what rank you are but the amount of toxicity I am getting in red ranks can be unbearable at times. I suffer from anxiety and depression, as well as a couple of other things, so sometimes it gets to me too.

Rift and challenges was made for that purpose.
Devs should probably implement more stuff for completionists. Maybe add new currency that can be only found in trials and used to unlock unavailable stuff, like old event items and old rift charms. Or even exclusive stuff that can only be unlocked for that currency.
Edit. It could be a rift fragments. For example, it can be earned from old rifts and used to unlock old stuff in another section of the store. So it should be also earnable even when rift is closed.
Currency to buy perks for your character in a bloodweb shop, I like this idea. It won't benefit the long time players who has everything p3 but people like me, who I may add has been grinding for 3 years on and off and the grind still continues to this day, and new players would benefit greatly from it.
Maybe something else, possibly more expensive, for those who have everything levelled and for the rest of us to work towards.
Currency in chests, or something new environmentally, would give players something to get off of gens for, possibly slowing the game which some of us want.

I played two games as survivor today, two "face" campers in both games. It seems some people just have to ruin the anniversary for everyone.
Closed the game after that and went to other game.
Blame the rise in toxic survivors for the spike in toxic killers. I, as well as many others who have commented or made posts on the forum, tried to play fair, tried to 2 hook everyone even if it meant no sacrifices. The amount of t-bagging and clicky clicky flashlights and even the occasional sabo squad stopping me from getting hooks, playing 3 purple offerings to extend the distance between hooks whilst I gave them cake.
This wore me down, as well as less than 5 minutes game time before the final gen gets finished, with exception to the sabo squads whose sole intentions were to make my games as miserable as possible.
I turned from a chill killer into a give no craps killer, even running noed which I have not run in a long time due to not liking the perk. This is solely because of game after game of toxic survivors.
-
If a hex, or boon totems, gets destroyed it turns into a passive perk, almost the same as the hex but to a much lesser extent. For example
- Devour hope only gets the first perk tier, speed boost when hooking, but not the other 2.
- lullaby only has 2 stacks
- noed has speed boost only, no instadown
Not going to list all hexes but you get my point.

Are we really complaining about survivors running away now? Really? We've devolved to this?
Yikea. What's next? They should start with half the survivors on basement hooks?
People want bloodlust removed too, that's the only counter right now to the W strategy unless you are a highly mobile killer. If this goes at least one or two gens will pop before the killer even catches up to them, let alone hit them.
Survivors used to run to loops to avoid the killer, not huff it as far away as possible, maybe take a hit on the bigger maps to get even further.
-
@Marigoria said:
Let me guess, some streamer mentioning holding W and dropping pallets and now everyone it's saying it's OP and complaining about it.
Players have always had to hold W and drop pallets, and now more than ever killers have more slowdown perks, toolboxes were nerfed.
Why is this an issue now?
Because some of the more popular slowdown perks need gen pressure. How can we pressure 3 or 4 gens at the same time if they split up? Even two is hard enough if they are on opposite sides of the map.
You can hit and run but they get hit and go right back on the gen when you leave to pressure the other one. If you commit to a chase the other person goes right back on that gen.
Three genning only works partially because you hit them then they hold W to the other side of the map, heal, split up and slowly proceed with the gens.
You cannot pressure every gen even with slowdown perks. Hex spawns are terrible and are normally found quite quickly unless you get a lucky match, leaving you with an empty perk slot. High risk/high reward I know but when the risk is removed within the first minute or two there is barely any reward at all, if any.
-
I never used to play as a toxic killer but faced so many toxic survivors during the event it's the only way I can get points now. All those toxic players ruined it for everyone, chill survivors and chill killers alike, and matches lasting less than 5 minutes due to gens popping every hook on average.
There is a spike in toxic killers now to combat the spike in toxic survivors.

He wants to buff him. The point is that tentacles can be dodged already by just moving from side to side. It is really bad, when you need to just crouch, which is possible on reaction becouse of that wind up and it negates any ranged potencial over loops.
It is terrible mainly on Haddonfield, when you can't hit over any fence.
That's what I was saying. He needs a buff, I was just saying please don't nerf him and the tentacle was too easy to avoid. Basically agreeing with the op, sorry if this wasn't made clear in my post.

Honestly I've mostly played killer the 2 days the event has been active, so far literally every game has been an absolute waste of a cake for me. Gens done in 4 minutes, everyone out, routine as clockwork. Most abysmal experience I've ever had playing DBD. Most games I can't even fully stack BBQ before everyone is gone.
Exactly what's happening to me, everytime I hook someone a gen pops.

That could've just been a survivor with bad internet based on your description.
What? I chased her for about 5 seconds in a straight line before she teleported back as I was about to hit her. The first time I did hit her she teleported out of my terror radius since the doctors power never saw her and we were out in the open so no lockers to jump into.
Bad Internet would do stuttering teleports but they would still be close by.
-
I agree this event has brought out the worst. I have met so many toxic players since the event started that I have stopped playing nice. I started the event by trying to 2 hook everyone whether I got a sacrifice or not and it started out well. Then the toxic players came out to play and as of a couple of hours ago I'm not playing nice anymore, they have worn me down.
So they have turned me from what they want, someone who doesn't camp and tunnel, into what they are always complaining about. Now I will not hesitate to get someone out of the match if I feel I need to.
It sucks for those survivors that just want chill games but imo they have the toxic survivors to thank for that. So my apologies to the chill survivors.
On top of that the rng is so bad over my last dozen games that my hex is always out in the open and hook spawns being ridiculous on the bigger maps, without offerings too.
-
I have now started tunnelling if needs be, normally against it early game but getting sick of gens getting finished within 5 minutes and t-bagged at every pallet. I am not going to let survivors have fun at the expense of my own fun.
The toxic survivors have brought it upon all survivors whether there is one cake or 5 cakes in play.
Salt, yes but well deserved through bhvrs crappy ranking system putting me against wave after wave of survivors, about 12 games now, I have no chance of beating with my skill level. Also the last 5 games have had horrendous hook spawns too.
-
It's fairly easy to avoid as it is, don't nerf him, he has enough problems. The tentacles hitbox is so thin it needs to be widened, even if it is a tier 3 thing, however take the strafe ability out since this is what catches most survivors out with the strike.

I’m really not dictating anything other than what the setup for the game actually is. If you 4K with Bubba everybody within 30 seconds of match start you are likely to get an “Entity Displeased” result. So obviously just “killing” everybody isn’t supposed to be the primary objective. The objective is to entertain the entity, and that just plain doesn’t entirely rest upon killing everybody, despite the person playing the killer playing just for that.
But how are you supposed to entertain the entity if gens literally start popping all over the place whilst you're taking the first down to the hook. 2nd down another gen pops and before you know it the game is over. Doubt the entity is getting much enjoyment out of it.
Although I hate the perk and stopped using it for a long time, I have resorted to using no-ed to at least get another hook or 2 and get a little more bp.
-
I doubt that. All my trials tonight are over within 5 minutes because Survivors are popping gen after gen so quickly.
If they want quick matches I will start to afk in a corner to de rank myself no matter how many cakes are in play. Tonight's matches have been so boring so far.
-
Oh you meant levels, for some reason I thought prestige lol.
Change mine to 50+ then.
-
Sometimes I like to play as Freddy, others I like to play as clown. I don't like nurse or spirit so don't tend to use what is considered the strongest in red ranks, which is probably a small part of the reason of why I struggle in red ranks.
-
Thanks for making me aware, although I never click links I don't trust anyway.
-
Never heard of this scam. How does it work? They send a link or something?
-
Hated it when I got it. I thought East wing/West Wing separation with the main hall being in both.
Upper and lower levels work too.

Okay tunneling isn't a thing lol. Killers have one objective so what would you suggest they do? Avoid the easier, injured target and go for the other survivor leading you to a god pallet loop? Do you see how absurd that sounds? "Hey, I'm gonna chase this other guy who hasn't been hooked once for 2 minutes, until the easier target wants to resume playing". Lmao
Don't forget about the times the unhooker hides so you only see the recently unhooked survivors tracks. Do we see them and say 'oh, it would be unfair to down them again. Let me waste some time looking for someone else' lol

The killer has one objective, to kill. People still complain if they are being tunnelled. Why? This is just the killer doing their one objective.
Does this mean tunnelling doesn't exist according to your logic?
-
Because some killers are selfish and are only thinking of their points, not thinking camping is taking some away for standing near the hooked survivor.
Not going to lie, I will tunnel if I feel the game is going badly which is normally around 2 gens when I make my decision. I will also camp during ecg or if I know for certain there are other survivors there, not giving free unhooks if it's going to happen the very second I leave.
Until this point though I will try to get each survivor hooked if possible, still through selfish motivations though to get my 4 stacks of bbq, then try to juggle for another set of hooks. The problem is playing like this in red ranks is not that viable unless you are a really good killer and by the time you have 4 one hooks the gens are down to 2 or even 1.
I don't like to play the Red rank viable killers such as nurse and spirit so I struggle mostly. The people camping though are not maximising their points so the cakes are going to waste for everyone, although the killer will benefit mostly for a poor playstyle.
-
What if hooking worked differently, like tormented survivors. The survivor is downed and the killer has to perform some kind of interaction to summon the entity, so it's not down survivor, instant hook. The entity swallows them and hooks them on a random hook outside of a 32m range of the killer, like the cage of torment but hooked.

Why would you try the adept killers in red ranks? Deranking is a thing in this game, so you dont have to.
You can be banned for intentionally deranking, such as afk, too many times if you're found out.
I have tried in the past to just run around hitting people, no hooks, so they get some points and I am 'playing' the game however I still safety pip doing this. Pips are too easy for killer and can't wait for sbmm to come out.

You're not getting a stack, but they would have had to leave so early into the match that you're guaranteed a victory with no sort of gen rush possible with only three survivors.
That isn't true in the slightest. I play on red ranks where half the matches are slow and easy to deal with as they're potatoes.
As a killer I'm getting twice as much as you after the game with Barbeque whereas WGLF isn't worth running in most circumstances as getting four stacks won't always happen.
Honestly, you make killer sound so rough, but it's not at all. I recommend anyone to give it a try, it's not so bad and you get far more rewarded if you lack a group to play with.
Can we please trade survivors then as the gens in my match pop all over the place lol. I downed a survivor earlier today and between downing and hooking 3 gens popped and this was roughly around 2 minutes into the trial.
-
This is the problem as I see it stuck in red ranks.
I am not a good survivor or killer but killer is my main role. I try to play fair to begin with, not tunnelling or camping but I get outplayed often by t walls, places with strong loops and the like, although I can mindgame shack a lot. A lot of red rank players are good loopers, too good for me but it's far too easy to rank up as killer and too hard to de-pip. I try to get a couple of pallet drops then break chase if I feel the need to and go elsewhere, especially if discordance pops..
Now, when you start hearing gens pop all over and you get to 2 with all survivors alive, especially if not many hooks have been had, someone needs to go by any means necessary, I will still try not to camp though. However if I'm in a chase and see someone on last hook at one remaining gen I will change my target, even if they have just been unhooked. I will always camp after last gen has popped. The only other times I will tunnel and possibly camp but not always is a toxic player, clicky flashlights, t-bagging all the time etc.
Those who tunnel and camp, or even slug, at 5 gens I never understand. Oh and basement bubba, how that is fun is beyond me lol
-
I play killer more than survivor, so opposite to you. However I am dumping all mine into levelling up as many of my killers as possible and just one survivor.
I would advise you do the same but on the survivor side if that's the role you prefer. I would dump some into 2 of the killers you may want to play though, just to give you options.
Tldr my opinion is focus on survivor since that's your preferred role.
-
I had a game a few hours ago where only 1 brought a cake, the other 3 played those purple offerings that increase hook spawn distance. Some of them brought in toolboxes too of course but it backfired on them since we weren't on a big map :p
-
Give yourself a bit of diversity and make both joint mains. I have four joint mains I like to jump to and from with, doctor, wraith, freddy and nemesis.
My secondaries, just for fun, are clown, myers, trapper and ghostface.
All the rest I may play if I feel like a change, except nurse. I suck at nurse but may try to learn her when sbmm is permanently turned on.
-
I would have preferred it happen at the end of the 2nd movie. Loomis blows up the room Michael is in but, in true Myers form, he still walks out of there totally aflame. As he is swinging his knife around he collapses to the floor seemingly deceased.
He is destined to die and the entity grants him an eternity in the fog and promises to pluck Laurie from reality as long as he does the entities bidding.
-
I absolutely hate it, far too maze like and so confusing to navigate. It should have been split in 2 maps, west wing and east wing imo.

Limited time cosmetic verse an achievement with no time limit. Yup, totally comparable. For the record, I don't agree with the double pip requirement, but these two things are completely different.
No, the post was about how much easier it is for killers to get. Have you tried all adept killers in red ranks, it's a lot more difficult than surviving a trial.
The time limit is long enough to get them on all survivors. I am sure people can survive two or three times per day even if only by hatch camping.

Yeah it’s been terrible as Survivor, just like every other event. Literal face campers everywhere in red ranks.
Had the same facecamping, ruin, undying, pop, mangled speed boost add-on Wraith 3 times in 90 minutes earlier. First 2 games no one got more than 18K points apart from them and the third game they 4 man slugged after 2 gens got done so I just dc’d.
Another match a Slinger hard camped from the start resulting in the survivor dcing. I got slugged at the end after he closed the hatch and he proceeded to shoot me on the floor until I bled out.
Played for 8 hours. Haven’t seen any survivors with keys. Killers 4K’d at least 80% of the time because Survivors try to get at least some points from the cakes by saving facecamped, tunnelled teammates instead of it being an M1 simulator and it all goes downhill. Even had 2-3 ebony moris.
Haven’t seen any gen rushing or bming from survivors. No keys like I said. No comp teams. But all apart from maybe 5-6 games have been the most miserable experience i’ve had in this game since twins got released.
I’ve got Jill to P2 level 50 and as soon as I have 1 million BP i’ll level her up and i’m done for a week. Not even considering attempting for the crowns, as if Killers need more of an excuse to facecamp.
Couldn't the deathslinger standing over you and letting you bleed out be seen as taking the match hostage as he could end it by hooking you? Its not like he slugged, went to find someone else then couldn't find the survivor on the floor again. It should be reported as taking the game hostage if it happens again.
I've definitely seen gen rushing in some of my matches today lol.

explain why killers have to adept by 4k and double pip but survivors just have to escape?

No lol, it was about adept achievements.
-
You have the correct mindset, play how the survivors play. If they are being toxic, play to win no matter what. If they are being nice try to get as many 2 hooks as possible.
This is the way I'm playing, if there are 5 cakes in play you can still get 120k+ just with 8 hooks, no sacrifices... Although sacrifice If you can for more bp :p
-
Explain why survivors can get adept achievements by just escaping when the killer has to 2 pip. Let killers at least get the crowns easier lol.
-
I was playing fair, trying to 2 hook everyone and giving last survivor hatch if they were sparkling. It turned into one t-bagging at the exit too many and after the sabo squad came with their toolboxes and 3 of the purple offerings that make the hooks spawn further apart and I am done with being nice.
Back to normal for me.
-
Yes and it is awful to play on. Even had a survivor message me after the trial to tell me she found it hard to find a gen and didn't like it.

Or finishing it in your face. Or working on it while injured. Or just coming across a random gen at 75% and not finding a new one to work on. Yes
Same as tunnelling from killers then. One uninjured survivor unhooking an injured one. Why go after the uninjured one? The same as not going looking for another gen. Or what if the unhooker is nowhere to be seen. Do we leave the just unhooked one and go looking elsewhere. Just kicked gens+just unhooked survivors=the same thing... Tunnelling, no matter if it's survivor side or killer.
