I preferred Hawkins to Midwich and definitely more so than rpd. I will be sad to lose it but life, and the game, goes on. Can't wait for the resident evil licence to run out so rpd disappears forever too.
-
Before Bill came to console his perks were universal so I'm guessing either these will be too or shrine of secrets exclusive.
-
It will be a licensing issue for both I bet. Maybe bhvr wanted to re-license but the price went up or maybe they just planned to only license temporarily and this was inevitable.
I don't like the fact we are losing a map, especially since they don't release them for all new chapters now but there's nothing we can do about it.
-
The way I see it is people complain simply because they can. Here are some
Rainbow ranks was one and people complained because they either had to carry other survivors or some died far too quickly which led to the others dying too. Green and yellow ranks also getting matched with purple and red rank killers.
Ranking system is/was busted, too easy to rank up and much harder to rank down which led to a lot of people complaining people were getting to red ranks and dragging the other survivors down with their noobish ways of playing.
Killers were getting matches that had players who seemed very new and getting kills too quickly, which are boring games, or absolute sweatfests with players way above their skill level. There was barely any in-between, although you could get lucky and have a string of fair matches, and a lot of complaints came from that direction.
People complained about afk killers. Why did they afk? Some of them anyway. To get the heck out of red ranks where they knew they did not belong. Do you have any idea how demoralising it is to have countless 0k games with survivors t-bagging and/or bullying the less skilled killer who was stuck there because they kept safety pipping. Another complaint about the ranking system from killers here too.
There are many, many more complaints, that are not to do with bugs and performance issues, but this post is already long enough. It is my reasoning that sbmm will fix this for the majority of players.
I am a killer main but I do play survivor for my rift challenges. As survivor my matches evened out after the first 5 or 6 sacrifices and my killer games jumped about a bit at first, from hard matches to easy ones before balancing out with nemesis. I want sbmm to be implemented as soon as possible and then they can look into ways of balancing higher level sbmm. My thoughts are lower points earned/more points lost at high levels to reduce the amount of sweatfests the players have to contend with before getting a few chill matches to play and take respite for a bit. Keep in mind though that the more competitive, more sweatier you play as either role will put you right back into the place that is being complained about.

But it's screwing over people who put in the time to get good.
They need to balance high ranks BEFORE they implement SBMM.
If they implemented it fully instead of these stupid limited time tests then they could look at balancing it properly. As I said in my post, they could implement earn less sbmm points and lose more, dependant on how they are measured, the higher score you have. This stops the sweat matches much quicker if you're on a losing streak and gives you a few chill games before the rinse/repeat method continues.
-
They will lose those points and those that care about pipping, or bp in general, will not want to miss out on them. Yes, they are not that much per skill check but do contribute to your overall bp gain in the end. I don't think many would skip them.
However, 4th and 5th stack of huntress lullaby still causes explosions since the 4th is when the check appears and no warning on 5th. Also perks such as overcharge too should still explode since that warning is the same as 4th lullaby.
-
My concern is they will give the boon totems much better spawns than hex totems. They have heard our complaints about hex totems near gens or out in the open and are thinking 'well let's hide these boons out of the way, in corners the killer never needs to travel to'.
Also, the speed it will take the killer to destroy them. It needs to be balanced well since every second counts for killer but if they can be destroyed like a pallet it seems worthless to run them as survivor as it wouldn't waste much of the killers time once found.
I don't mind survivors having boons but if any allow gens to go faster I won't be happy lol.
-
Survivors just have to escape. They can hide all game, do nothing then take the hatch. Adept successful.
Killers have to sweat to 2 pip and get a 4k, to please the entity to the highest satisfaction. This gets worse the higher rank you are unless you're a highly skilled killer.
It should definitely be brought more in line with the simplicity of the survivor adept.

they don’t have to type “ do that in single trail “ then ;)
since we can do it single normally
omg all against me now ?
Not against you at all. You could be being really sincere with your confusion over the matter but you were not understanding any of the responses no matter how much we tried to explain that I wasn't sure whether the post was serious anymore.
If I caused you any hurt I apologise.

SBMM stand for ?
Skill based matchmaking or you may also see it referred to as mmr.

I keep getting slaughtered, but I freely admit I'm a newbie killer - just over 100 hours. It's not been any fun mind.
Don't worry, I have over 2k hours and I'm still not a good killer and an even worse survivor lol.
You will learn the ins and outs of it with time, just keep at it and don't let the game get you down :)

Don't say that. BHVR will think 30k is too much and reduce it to 5k lol. They like the grind much more than we do.

This looks to me like some well-thought bait. I think we have the next Sluzzy here.
Yeah, I'm starting to think it's a wind up too. Not going to lie, all the info had been given and easy to understand and I was starting to get a bit riled up lol.
-
It bhvr trying to balance out the huntress hitbox without fixing the huntress lol.
-
IT ISN'T A SEPERATE MODE lol. Just a normal, everyday game. You have the exact same game we do, nothing missing and everyone else who chooses them are completing them the exact same way you can if you just play the exact same way you always play the game.

archive challenges works fine i know !!
but not when its “ do that on single trail “
how do i do single trail !?
Check the photo in my post, there is no single trial. It is a normal game, the same games you have been playing for 3000 hours.
Really starting to think this is not a serious post now lol.
-
Load game in, play as survivor or play as killer depending on challenge. If you have to use specific perks and/or killer choose them then play the game.
There is no story mode or single game option and don't choose custom, just play as killer or play as survivor.
You have the exact same modes as we all do.
20210816_110831.jpgThat image is the options everybody has. No seperate modes and nothing after store.
-
Accept the challenge, make sure it's lit and shows up at the side of your screen when queuing. Load into a normal game and try to do whatever the challenge is, the entire challenge, not partially. If you have to unhook 3 survivors safely, unhook all 3 in that game. If you don't it won't complete so load into another normal game as you have been doing for the last 3000 hours and try again. I only think they complete in a normal game, whether swf or solo, and not in a kill with friends match or whatever it is called now.
There is no single trial mode, it's just the mode you normally play.
-
What challenge was it? What does it say you must do?
-
No just a normal game as in load in, repairs gens, escape or sacrificed. It's just a standard game, If you can load in to play you are not missing anything lol.
-
No, it means you have to do that challenge in one game and does not spread over multiple trials like the others do. A trial is the normal game itself so if it says do 5 skill checks in the killers radius in a single trial that means if you do 3 in one game they will not be carried into the second one so you have to do it all in that game.
It doesn't matter if all 4 survivors are alive or not, a single trial means one game, not anything different.
-
The nemesis daily should be at least 60k since that takes 4 games to get to tier 3. All the others can possibly be done in one game.

The devs have confirmed it’s intentional that the community doesn’t know what their MMR is and how exactly it is calculated.
all we know is that it tries to approximately guess the players skill, it gets determined after round about 10 matches and gets adjusted after every match and it is for every killer specific but for survivor it’s for all the same. Nee killers don’t start at zero but get a score that partly gets calculated from the killers you already have an established score on.
and its implemented as an alternative to the emblem system so we can assume that it does things differently to that.
I can understand the devs not wanting to tell us officially how it is calculated to avoid cheating the system. I also understand them not wanting us to see others score so we can't properly tell if it's working as intended.
I do not understand why they won't let us see our own score, I think that's ridiculous. I would like to see what my limitations are, if I'm getting close to a certain score that I struggle with I know I am heading for a few bad games lol.
-
I think there should be no explosion between the warning sound and it showing on screen. Afterall the sound is merely a warning to let you know a skill check is going to show up, it's not actually the skill check itself.
-
The fog offerings are close to pointless right now unless you have traps, trapper and hag etc. I would prefer visibility to be affected more for both survivors and killer. I don't mean 4 fog offerings should make you blind but as it is now you can still see the other side of the map if it's small and has no los blockers so quite pointless.
-
I hate it when the killers have Franklin's and when I go back to get my item someone has taken it. It's worse doing what you did, that's in no way karma, that's just you being a toxic idiot to your 'team mates'

Here's the problem and why I have even more dislike towards MMR.
So let's imagine the two different scenarios when it comes to face camping killers:
Camping kills count towards MMR:
- This will mean more face camping killers get higher MMR ratings
- This then gives them tougher survivors
- This will force them to face camp even more
Camping kills get penalised and lower MMR:
- Killers who actually face camp will get paired with worse survivors, making easier to beat them
- Killers will exploit this to be able to derank, while also beating teams
- Good killers are potentially forced to proxy camp and their MMR rating drops
- Que times for high MMR players increases
- More likely to get sweaty killers who never need to camp
Think the system is completely busted regardless.
I'm a killer main and I prefer your first choice to increase the score. This will punish campers but the system would have to detect there were no survivors nearby. If I see scratch marks when I turn around and search around the hook for the survivor who left them then we should not be punished for it, even more so we are being looped close to the hooked survivor. If we know a survivor is nearby then we would be a fool not to look for them and walk away. That's like a survivor seeing 2 gens, one 90% complete and one not started and ignoring the 90% one lol.
Maybe the score does not increase if a survivor is in a 8-12 meter radius from the killer and hook.
-
I don't think it needs a buff. Cutting healing time in half is beneficial for the survivors as it is, even more so with perks that increase healing speed. I think it's a perfectly balanced perk.
I base my decision on roughly 20 games trying to get adept Jill. It didn't help that the killers kept coming straight back to the hook after I was unhooked. Probably got 15-25% usage from the perk lol.
-
I don't want it to end, I want it to stay. This is the best trial they have had and seems to work OK for a lot of mid skill players.
If they kept it on they could then start doing balancing for it. The higher our sbmm score gets the less points you earn and more points you lose in my opinion. This way higher skilled players won't have to sweat for 10+ games before a 'chill' game happens.
If they keep turning it on and off bhvr only gets very limited data so keeping it on seems better to me. Anyway I don't want to get back to red ranks so it seems I will be taking another break until the next sbmm trial.
-
I get this when mmr is deactivated all the time in red ranks, safety pip too so not getting out without afk wraith or dc.
If you're a good enough player to go against them fair enough but I should not be punished and be matched with people more than triple my skill level.
I'm all for sbmm and hope it's fully implemented soon. If you lose enough matches to players like these it should start putting you in less sweaty matches eventually.

What's stopping them from 99%'ing the last remaining gen until they know everyone is safe or is in a spot to make it 'til the end?
It's more of a risk to 99% a gen than it is a door though.
-
I will refrain from a good or bad vote until it is fully implemented. As of now though I'm still getting really hard games, ok to 1k per match even when I keep losing. I am trying killers I don't normally play too.

open gates and start egc
I had someone hooked in the far corner away from both gates but they would not open them. It was too far for me to travel without securing a kill, which I still did not secure as they all ran down and body blocked on the way to the gates.
-
My first game, I never realised I had to tweak the ini file to change resolution so my skill checks were not registering and failing all the time. Someone wrote on my steam profile I was the worst teammate ever lol. It was my very first game. Did they think I would be a sudden godlike player just by watching a few YouTube videos before purchasing?
So my very first game I got hate mail lol. This was around three years ago, give or take a few months.
-
Sacrifice* why is what rhymes with lie a bad word when it's part of the game?
-
I want mmr too. Unless they did a serious rework of the rank system, harder to pip/easier to lose pips, I think this game needs it for fairer matchmaking. Unless you do nothing all match or ######### on first hook it's too hard to depip no matter at what point you die. Unless you get tunneled out immediately, that works lol.

I think the second is a decent continuation with some important added facts about the lore "IT IS NOT THE HAND THAT SUMMONS US, IT IS DESIRE" and the special effects are pretty good with the guy on the matress
It started to get really weird though and something did not click with me. Normally I'm easily pleased with horror too. Maybe I should rewatch the second one in case I forgot about what happened in it.
-
Only the first one, I consider that the only good one. Mind you I stopped following the movies after the third as they were getting worse.
-
I am a solo player and always climbing my way to red ranks. I am a low purple/high green rank player at best but because I put time into it I got to red ranks. It is too easy to get there and too hard to get out of without screwing team mates over and I won't dc just to derank.
-
You definitely want Bubba if you don't yet have bbq. Since bhvr won't do something about the grind they will at least allow you to pay for a perk that helps it lol.
-
I want mmr because I want to learn new killers. Sweating in games after games in red ranks don't give me time to think about the mistakes I may be making and how I could do things differently as killer. How can I possibly try to learn nurse when frustrations are mounting as gens pop left, right and center and survivors doing whatever they can to heighten those frustrations. You need room to breathe to quickly analyse the mistakes and try different methods.
I don't want new players either, the ones who run to corners of the map and avoids loops at all costs. There is no learning that can be done there either so hopefully the sbmm has some sort of cap that you cannot drop below, also to safeguard newer players too, maybe a certain percentage of your highest mmr killer. Therefore I want to play with people roughly around my skill level, probably a little lower but not too much when picking a new killer, in order to learn effective ways to play them.
As survivor I will admit I am not that good at looping, always misjudging the distance between the killer and the pallet. I would however like games in which the killer is closer to my skill level, not a red rank godlike player in which I most certainly will have to be carried or sacrificed. I am not bothered about escaping as much as not getting downed within 20 seconds of a chase starting, dependant on which killer it is.
I am in favour of the system and hoping bhvr can get it sorted and rolled out as soon as they deem it ready to go fully live.
-
Have they turned the bans back on? I had to quit the game a couple of days ago due to being stuck in an infinite loading screen. I didn't have a ban when I loaded the game straight back up again.
-
All I ask is killers are allowed to fully kick the gen before blast mine nearly blows my head off.
-
Well it seems a waste of time getting a feel for it in a test when the next test could feel differently. I don't like tests or betas and alphas. I prefer a finished product. It's like when a game crashes on me twice I normally put it aside for quite a while, looking at you arkham city. I just prefer things in working order.
I understand what your saying though and I do thank you for a polite response, I have had quite a few people on this forum having a go for having a difference of opinion. I may give it a go over the next few days. Got to kill some time before tales of arise releases lol.
-
They need to make it into variations like badham. East Wing and West Wing or upstairs and downstairs. I would go with the wings though with both seperated from the main hall so that is in both variations.
Then again they could do 4 variations on all I said above
-
I wholeheartedly deny this rumour. It is definitely the next person who posts beneath me lol.

how would you know the system is something that you want if you don't test it while its available to try out
It is something I want but I want it to be matching me with players of my skill, which is not high if I'm being honest. I don't want complete sweatfests that I barely have a chance of winning, which it becomes once I hit purple ranks and keep getting matched with red ranks, and I don't want survivors who only have 3 perk slots unlocked and have no idea what they are doing like in a previous sbmm test people spoke of.
I am in favour of sbmm but only in full working condition. To be honest though I have paid for the game as a customer and am not in employment for bhvr as most others here aren't. Will players get some sort of in game recompense for being unpaid game testers for bhvr and I don't mean some paltry 250k bp lol.
-
I am until the the next double bp weekend or full time sbmm to take effect, whichever occurs sooner.
I don't want to test skill based matchmaking just to keep having it turned off. I want to see the full version implemented before I try it, hopefully with a good working system.
The grind seriously bores me away from the game. BP desperately needs an increase, especially for survivors, or perk tiers reworked or even better both of these.

No.
Why should the Survivor get free Sprint Burst on top of possibly having Borrowed Time? On top of that, the Killer is allowed to focus someone out of the game; it's called 'playing smart'.
Do you see an 80% done gen and ignore it to do a 0% done gen? No? Then why does the Killer have to ignore the wounded Survivor who goes down in 1 hit & will die on the hook? Why does he have to go after the healthy Survivor who needs 2 hits in an extended chase, plus 1 or 2 more hookings to die?
Why is the Killer expected to play sub-optimally & be forced to spread out hooks and hits, while Survivors can genrush?
And no 'Because the Killer is knocking someone out of the game' is not an acceptable answer, because THAT IS THE POINT OF THE KILLER.
I was just pointing out a way to counter tunnelling. I'm a killer main myself and will tunnel if I have 2 gens/4 survivors remaining. Doing survivor challenges show how bad and frustrating it can be though having game after game of tunnelling, especially on 4 or 5 gens still left to do.
Not everyone runs borrowed so get off your pedestal and realise everyone's opinion will not be the same as yours.
I see it as a survivor tunnelling a gen when it's almost completed too so both sides tunnel.

no, it should be common sense that you don't unhook a survivor when there is a possibility that the killer is coming back or just walks 5 meters away from the hook, its just bad play from the survivor side
Yet a lot of survivors still hook bomb without bt.
