  • If survivors wait for you to leave after kicking a gen and start working on it, isn't this the survivor version of tunnelling the gen?

  • @Drywatr said:

Im not leveling my survivors so i have none to use. Im working towards p3 on all killers as i have all but 2 survivors already there

Same here and getting at least one cake in most bloodwebs.

I will move onto p3 survivors after the killers are sorted.

  • Just played it for the first time and hated it more than midwich, and that's saying something.

Too confusing layout, too many rooms and could not find out how to get to one generator discordance popped on lol.

  • I'm not saying you don't. Just letting you know the servers are still up so it must be another issue.

  • Not on PC but eu player. Working OK for me right now. Guessing all platforms use the same servers.

  • If bhvr fixed problems in a more timely manner and listened to the community, you know the one, the people who keep their company afloat by giving them money, there would be far less complaining.

I'm getting between 1-3 cakes per bloodweb on Demo, non-prestiged Level 50

Same here, been getting 1-3 cakes on wraith too per bloodweb.

game is fine on steam not sure why people play DBD on console anymore, not to mention you have to pay online to play on console.

bhvr should just give up on last gen consoles because it's slowing down game development.

Because I am not a pc player. I own one when I used to game on PC but it must be at least 5 years old now. I tried dbd on PC on lowest settings and everything worked fine except skill checks that I could not hit due to them having a huge delay in registering and could never find out why. I even forced 1080p through the files but it still happened. I played PC for years but still had to use controller because I could never get used to m+k, gave up on wow after about 6 months due to that fact.

In short, some people are happier to be console players than play on PC.

  • OK, let me be serious now. This post was a mocking of my playstyle during these games however I was running some tests to find out the following, running roughly 7-10 games.

    - how viable is blood warden solely in the end game. For this I did not take part in the games, until this game, until the final gen was done. This was to test many bad games in a row, no matter if they were sweaty survivors, potatoes or any where in between. The survivors were not supposed to know I was playing badly on purpose, I did test that but completely failed the test.

    - How persistent survivors would be in wanting that totem out of the game. I used thrill because I did not want to be too close to it for the growls to be heard and did not want to face it to set off spine chill. One game survivors spent about 10-15 minutes solely intent on that totem being taken out of the game. They almost got it at one point when they all body blocked the one cleansing it.

    - Because I'm not a bully survivor and don't afk with killer, with the exception of these tests, I wanted to see if the players would bully the killer, be sympathetic or just want to farm those lost points. I had 2 teams just t bag at the gates, 2 teams wiped out to blood warden (sorry to you guys, you were the sympathetic ones and I did feel bad), other teams either all left straight away or 2 left and 1 team knew my intention the very second I downed one of them and left (the smart team)

As I say I don't normally play like this and was just running some tests and I understand what I was doing was no better than a basement bubba, maybe worse but I did hit them or down them if the touched my totem so they did get altruism at least. Anyway tests are complete and normal playstyle has resumed :)

...yyyyyyes? When the killer is afk, why shouldn't the survivors farm all the points they can get? They're doomed to an escape with like 12k points max, and you're presumably not at the computer so you can't even be offended by it.

You really have no moral high ground over this Meg. You were pretending to be afk so you could lolblitz them later and she tried to farm points off of you, which you tunneled her to death over. Like, you seem to be expecting her to play nice, but you weren't playing nice and what you were pretending to be doing was a giant waste of survivors' time, so... question mark? What exactly did you think you deserved? To be left unnoticed until endgame, where you then 4ked and slaughtered them all as you laughed to yourself over how stupid they were not to cleanse the totems? It's not like your afk plan would have even failed. Meg just wanted points.

I wasn't angry, wraith was. I just wanted her to be made an example of. I was not afking, I was defending my totem, no harm in that. I had a plan, she was spontaneous. Only one gen had popped, I had plenty of time on my hands :)

I was going to chase them away if they touched my totem so I was not hiding, I was stood in the hallway where they had to pass.

It wasn't my first game like this, some actually succeeded.

  • @aroell said:

Wow! Ruined their game because they dared to blind you for a few seconds.

That was my playstyle for that game and I stand by it. Sick of sweaty red rank games where I don't belong so was trying something different for a change, looking for fun. Not defending my actions, just wanted a change of pace for a change :)

  • @Shaped said:

Excuse me if I misunderstood this but you planned to kill people anyway with your setup so what is the difference if she did that or not?

Because she did not know my plan, she strolled up, stared at me and flashbanged. As I say, I may have just been afk.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Brighten it like the PS4 version? Excuse me what? I play on the PS4 and I can literally stare at dark corners of the map, looking straight at a survivor, and not be able to see them at all because they are the exact same shade as the stupid corner.

I could see very clearly on PS4, it was always the brightest to me unless something has changed since the PS5 came out. The PS5 is bright as well though, no dark shadows at all.

  • @The_Krapper said:

If anything this should be an eye opener for people to upgrade to a pc instead of a ps5 , you can upgrade most PCs but if you try and do the same to a console the maker will ban you from playing online after it's been modified, the ps5 I've heard runs this game well but years down the line as technology upgrades even it will be out of date while a pc can always upgrade as it goes and stay with the times in most aspects

Ps5 and Series X runs perfectly fine and smooth for me so I'm guessing it's either a case by case basis or last gen consoles. BHVR was a little too optimistic as to how consoles could handle all the upgraded things they have been trying to do.

    @_NIGHTMARE_ said:

Clearly PTB's need to be implemented on console. But when this will be, I'll never know.

I feel like a bit of a prick because while I can play it just fine, there are plenty of others that can't even play the game due to freezes and lag.

If there's one thing I want for this anniversary event, it's for everyone to enjoy it.

    Sadly that isn't happening.

I doubt they would ever do this since the costs for a couple of weeks ptb to sony and microsoft would dent their wallets.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    Darker?! Ugh.

I've been playing in portable mode and it's way too dark. Like you said, can't see survivors in chases. Increasing the brightness on Switch turns up the backlight which is hell on my eyes, so I'm stuck being blind in the dark.

I was playing docked, did not try portable but guessing it's the same. It sounds like the darkness has spread to xbox too but only tried the ps5 one, apart from switch. It's fine there, for some reason playstation has always been brighter than the other platforms. Not that I'm complaining since that's my main platform for dbd.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

I agree it is hard to hold out much hope right now. The one sliver of a saving grace from today's update was the direct attention given to our Switch cousins. They've forever been given the short end of the stick, and it's nice to effort thrown their way.

Perhaps this is the first decent step towards a better game performance for us all.

    Perhaps...

With exception to the daytime maps I was playing blind on the Switch. The shadows are pitch black, can't see anything in there.

  • @skylerbound said:

I don’t feel like switch is any different

It was a lot darker for me, could not see a thing in the shadows.

  • @RenRen said:

I play on the switch and it seems better... for now.

How can you see it? Most of the time I was running blind as I could not see anything at all in the shadows.

I got 1k in kill the bots as I could not see them.

  • @Mandy said:

From what I can see, I'm hoping that the fps will have increased but the quality is lower. I'm waiting to hear feedback from our players though.

Planning on trying it when I get back from the shops. Others will have provided feedback by the time I do but hope it helps.

  • There are a lot less killers than there are survivors in this game. Why? Because killers have a more stressful role, they have to sweat more to win a match.

Survivors leave because they can't keep getting away with their shenanigans and the way you worded your post it sounded more like salt 'forcing' them off the game rather than anything else because people are starting to get wise to their tricks.

Killers have not had the power role for a while and still don't.

  • Getting pips is too easy imo. It slows down in yellow/green ranks as solo survivor but players like me who don't have red rank skill levels find themselves there far too easily.

  • @PlantCollector said:

I don't want to say the behaviour of the killer is okay, but if you brought the key into the round, then im not surprised in the slightest to be honest.

You have 1000 hours so im pretty sure you know how much keys are hated in this game and some people will show you like that how much they hate it without a doubt.

Especially if you equipped it in the last seconds before the match loaded in.

I know what you mean about keys lol. I had the escape with 2 ultra rare challenge and only had keys. Never been so tunnelled in all my time playing this game.

  • @kaeru said:

This and also it should require some charges of key.

I have been saying that on the forum for months. Hopefully the devs implement a key charge system for hatch.

  • I have to say clown. Using his longer intoxicating and more hindered adds on let's me have fun. Not just throwing them at survivors though, when they know you have these sometimes loops can be closed off as they don't want to run through the gas.

Couldn't make him my main or anything though, just a killer to play when I fancy a change. I never use his antidote gas though, takes too long to trigger.

  • I don't know why tier 3 can't break the pallet and hit the survivor. At the moment tier 3 is almost useless since the tentacle hitbox is so small a slight dodge either side makes it miss.

  • @Iosefka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2318168#Comment_2318168

Wait is there no MMR in this game ? What the hell. Is rank conditions are really hard then ?

MMR is being worked on and they do tests now and again but we do not know when it will be fully implemented. Could be this year, next year or a month before they shut the game down for good. You never know with bhvr.

  • I stupidly waited at the exit whilst injured... then the deathslinger managed to do a quick shot and spear me. Never again against a ranged killer lol.

I don't mind it if I am not getting t bagged but if there are pallets to break I would rather do that.

  • @Deferlo said:

Unfortunately, you just need to power through these rank. I've rediscovered it with the rank reset bug when i was sent back to yellow rank, because i've seen more camping/tunneling/facecamping in 3 days in yellow/green rank, than in 4 months in purple/red rank (though i could have just been unlucky).

But if you want advice, the only thing you can do in this type of game is either loop well enough so that you can earn points before going down, have you and your friends take borrowed time to try and take turns on the hook or stealthing it up and letting your teammates take the blow while you do gens/chest/totem to guarantee at least a safety pip.

Not sure what servers you are on but here in the UK roughly 70% of my trials, played about 15 games, as survivor yesterday had tunnelling and camping killers.

  • If they fix the issues and the excessive grind I would be happy. As for looping, I am terrible at it but the killers are supposed to be able to catch you eventually, even if you run them 5 gens, so not too fussed about this.

People forget that killers are supposed to be the power role.

  • The mobile version is better with the grind, it has a double bp weekend once per month and daily login rewards. Why we can't have them both is beyond me and silly on the devs part for not adding it. I am sure they can see how unhappy most of us are with the grind.

  • How about tickets added before the first prestige which makes perks become locked and the entity cannot claim them. You can only use 1 per bloodweb but we have all been there were our 2 main perks are in the Web, we claim one and the entity steals the other.

These tickets get less chance to spawn per prestige level until non existent in prestige 3. This is for those that like the grind.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

idk i think making it a 3v1 by tunneling someone out of the game at the start i think teaches bad habits ur not gonna learn if you dont take the pressure of beaing a new killer, tho tunneling mid to later game when you need is perfectly fine in my book and i do it all the time, tho wacking on the hook is just a rude gesture unless they were doin something toxic back

    This ^^

Don't learn yourself to tunnel at the beginning of the match, run bbq if possible to lessen the grind and get your 4 stacks. As mentioned about mid game tunnelling, which I class as 2 gens remaining, is fine if you really need someone out of the game. If there are 2 gens left and 4 survivors. Learn when it is best for you to be used but please don't fall into the 5 gen tunnelling routine.

Would it be a nerf if a survivor had a big flag on their head when they've been downed and ds is active? Yes.

Giving the killer information about whether the perk is being used is in and of itself a nerf, but that's obvious, you're just being purposely difficult.

OK, I bow down to you oh lord of the realm. Everything you say is correct and how I wish I had your intelligence. No one is allowed opinions without you being there to say how wrong they are, how worthy it is to worship you.

  • It's bad enough having one killer tunnelling and camping, it would be unbearable with two lol.

  • Literally just had a spirit camp me in the basement with 5 gens left then instant tunnel when unhooked.

  • If it's a survivor that has done something worthy of being blocked I will just ignore them when hooked, even if it means my inevitable untimely demise.

  • We're gonna live forever and bbq should be in the base kits if you really want to lessen the grind. Keep bbq aura reading since it is supposed to help limit camping. I see an aura off in the distance on a gen, I'm heading there.

I doubt they will do this though since they are sharable perks and one is a licenced killer.

  • Don't forget about the crafting system that would let you turn your unused bloodweb items into something more usable. Say for example some brown bp offerings to a yellow. I was looking forward to that.

Talking of brown bp offerings, they said quite a while ago they were going to fix these since the cost did not benefit the reward. That has not happened either but, I'm not a programmer in any way, wouldn't that just be a numbers tweak?

  • I like going against any killers with a terror radius, with one exception I will come to. So this takes out all stealth killers.

I hate going against the exception, deathslinger. Low terror radius with a mid ranged attack and barely any counter once shot makes me hate this guy. Also most deathslingers I come across are tunnellers.

  • I will try to play normally however it there are 2 people on a gen and only 1 is injured which one would you go for? Waste of time chasing the healthy survivor who takes 2 hits whilst the one hit carries on with the gen.

  • I've noticed it more since I have been doing survivor challenges over the last couple of days, however I am trying to do the escape 2 times with ultra rares and only have keys left. I have been tunnelled out of all my matches but one lol.

They'll announce the hotfix patched crashes.

Crashes will still occur as before.

People won't be able to get crowns and BP from cakes because they keep getting kicked from trials.

In return, BHVR extends the event and gifts us some very generous 100k bp.

I will promise not to spend that 100k bp all at once... Oh, wait... :(

  • Don't understand these nerf threads for nemesis, he needs a small buff.

    - infection strike does not injure but allows you a burst of speed.

    - tentacle strike is really narrow.

    - 3rd stage does not really give anything beneficial

    - zombies can work when they want but can get stuck or seem to turn into your supervisor, monitoring your work on the gen through the window.

    - survivors have up to 3 or 4 chances to get out of infection, dependant on usage, which means yet another free sprint burst.

There are other things but don't want the post to be too long.

  • I don't think there should be 5 choosable perks however I have always thought each survivor and killer should have a unique perk, only available to them and could not be shared.

  • It could have been one they had over from last years anniversary. I still have quite a few of last years cakes left which will be used this year until I get a good stack of 5th anniversary cakes.

Edit* sorry, just I just saw the anniversary flashlight at the top, never noticed it said 5th at the bottom.

  • We need one before the event starts, the last thing people need is to have at least 3 cakes in play then the game kicks them, that will be infuriating if it keeps happening.

I'm not expecting all bugs to be fixed but the bigger ones, crashes and powers not working properly, really need to be done in the hotfix.

  • @NextKillerConfirmed said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/261525/dear-killer-mains

maybe when the survs were toxic? Tbagging, flashlight spamming, perma looping, gen rushing with toolboxes. Mix of that might make someone toxic. I don't do it, cause I don't like it or even need it.

I would ask you though. What do you think of survs pallet looping all game long vs killers that can't handle pallet loops very well? I don't get countered by it, but some do. I remember pallet looping being VERY monotonous

Don't forget about a strong pallet loop with 2 jungle gyms or T walls at either side lol.

  • I will play fair and try to get every survivor on hook for my bbq stacks, then try to get everyone on second hook. Depending on the team however this is not always a viable strategy. If 3 gens pop quite early, or I have a bad game and end up with 2 gens and 4 survivors, someone needs to be taken out of the game. This leads to me tunnelling.

Camping I will normally only do once all gens are done and I need to secure the kill unless only one survivor is left or the team is highly altruistic and they have proven to me they will all swarm the hook, I love those teams lol. All other times bbq does it's work, shows me the auras and off I go.

Bringing a key in, especially a last minute switch in the lobby, or I see you found one in the trial will lead me to tunnelling since Franklin's will not destroy it anymore. Best thing to do if you find a key in the trial is to hide it somewhere so killers don't know it's in play.

  • OK then but let's also get rid of adrenaline to balance it out. They both require 5 generators to be completed and, if the killer is not running noed which not every killer does, gives a greater chance of escape.

I hear you say 'but that requires the survivors to complete 5 gens', noed requires the killer to lose 5 gens, or close hatch, so to me they are on par with each other. At least noed can be stopped before it's even begun.

1 … 10 11 12 13 14 … 21
