I'd say honestly, just tab out, wait, and move on to the next game. It's not worth getting stressed out over. Honestly, how many killers actually play like this, not that many right? Just hope that the next game is better and if not.... repeat the cycle :)
Well, right now I'm 2/4 today in the "cruel and unusual punishments" category.
Doesn't count turbo-tunneling or instant 3-gen camping, if it did I'd be a perfect 4/4 so far.
I went to go make a sandwich and ate it while I was watching and taking clips. There's only so many sandwiches I can make ya know

Jesus Christ.
It's an ACCESSIBILITY feature. It's not an us vs them, the devs hate Killers.
It's about helping people with legitimate disabilities be able to enjoy the game.
Reminds me of people who were against adding colorblind settings.

What time do updates usually drop? I think they drop at 1pm usually?
11 AM EST is the normal time.
They have been doing more updates on Wednesdays recently, so it may not be today

So we can turn this on and off right? Will the killer be able to see it?
Yes, it is off by default.
Why would the Killer be able to see it?
-
You almost certainly do not play at high MMR if your chases are taking two minutes to end.
Pretty much every Killer main goes through this phase. It's basically the "git gud or quit" phase. You start finding Survivors who are actually decent at the game and it's a rough adjustment from the potatoes you're probably used to.
You just have to power through it and learn from people that are better than you.
-
Because they're afraid of losing.
That's really what it boils down to. People dislike losing and will do whatever they can to ensure that they get an easier game.

If the devs implement a way to spend all bloodpoints at the push of one button, then you have my support. At the moment I spend a lot more time in the bloodweb simulator than in the match. I can't tell you how many BP I earn on average as a survivor. Often I get between 25 and 30k, rarely less than 20k. Then there are the 100% bonus points + bps and cakes from my mates.
Nevertheless, I support this idea because I am for fairness, even if it doesn't affect me.
I can't say why the devs never changed it. Maybe they wanna encourage us to play killer?
Having a way to quickly spend BP would be nice.

Killer gets more points because killer has to put in more effort. They have to chase all four survivors, hit all four survivors, hook all four survivors, kick all the generators, kick all the pallets, and use their power as much as possible. They get more points because they do more stuff.
If you're having an easy survivor match because the killer isn't good and you don't have enough points, then go mess around. Open all the chests, cleanse all the totems, loop him around for funsies since they're so bad. Wanna let yourself get downed and hooked so your teammates can get Altruism points?
You shouldn't need to throw in order to get BP as Survivor.

Yeah, it’s a team effort. Add the survivor points up together and you’re vastly out earning the Killer in BP, yet you’re upset you’re earning less? The game is always rewarding survivor side more BP but because you have to share your acting like Killer earns everything lol. He’s working hard by himself to achieve a portion of BP that a survivor team can earn equally even if they get destroyed, seems unfair to me.
Killers should be bumped up to what survivors get to split. Looks nice to say uhhhh, Killer earns so much, he got 32k BP when my team got
- 28k
- 17k
- 12k
- 7k BP.
Oh wait, so Killer got 32k and survivors got 51k BP? Guess we should bump survivors up with more BP to make it fair? Lol okay…

There are still chase points to be had, the idea you guys are trying to to put out there is false. Anyone can look avg. chase points vs that and see that people still leave with a substantial amount.
There’s already too many items on both sides. It’s not an issue they can and will solve anymore so no harm done
Wrong, loads of harm is being done.
The Healing Meta is crazy right now. Survivors don't need even more points for Medkits.
Generators are flying by I am seeing BNP very often and twice a game. Survivors don't need even more points for Toolboxes.
Survivors have enough for now and for a long time.

Overcharge is "quite like old Ruin"... you've blatantly forgotten old Ruin if you deadass tried to make that comparison.
I'd like to see something on that Overcharge being smaller than DS, it's absolutely NOT unexpected (it always happens whenever you tap a broken gen) and it spawning anywhere is normal for skill checks.
Mhmmm, don't think I have.
Old Ruin punished new players by forcing regression by not being able to hit a skill check. This did not have a cooldown and the only way to get rid of it was to break a totem.
Overcharge punishes new players by forcing regression by not being able to hit a skill check. This does not have a cooldown and the only way to get rid of it is to eat the skill check.
Quite similar. Check the wiki for skill check info, I'm tired and can't be bothered right now.

How does a basic skill check punish new players? As soon as you see it, you just react. And if you miss it, then you just remember and hit it next time.
By this logic, Pain Res, Jolt, etc, unfairly punishes newer players too.
The Overcharge skill check is smaller than Decisive Strike, unexpected AND can spawn at anywhere from 4'oclock to 11'oclock on the wheel.
It is not a normal skill check, I'm afraid. It's quite like old Ruin, if you can't hit it, you simply won't do gens. Ever.

I mean killers usually seem to tunnel because they feel they have no options. If they had options, tunneling may at least go down a bit (at least if 4-5 gens are remaining). Maybe buffs could make killers feel like they have more options other than tunnel? With that being said, Survs will still be buffed sooo... idk
Disagree.
Killers will tunnel as long as it's the easiest and most efficient strategy.

The skill check is pretty tough to hit if she's building for it specifically.
Which goes to show, is OC really fine with no cooldown on its skillcheck?
It isn't, imo.
It unfairly punishes newer players and punishes based off of bad RNG.
I'd like to see that effect scrapped and a new one take its place. Maybe have it give a status effect like obliviousness on a 45 second cooldown.

This is about Survivor bloodpoint gains and how they are not equivalent to Killer at ALL
Indeed and people chose to not engage with the Killer, you get more points for engaging. Its a choice mate.
That's....actually false.
The KILLER chooses to engage. I can't get chaser points if the Killer refuses to chase me.
However, this isn't about that. It's about survivor bp in general. You get little from gens, little in Survival and Chaser is entirely depedant on the Killer.
-
@Deathstroke said:
I use prove thyself and usually coh to maximise my bp as survivor. I reliably get over 20K bp but still less than usually on killer 25-35K bp. But survivor matches are usually lot quicker so there is that you can play even two games in same time while you play only one killer game. For me killer sacrifice category is problem how are you supposed to maximise that?
I think it's some combination of sacrifices during EGC and moris

It doesn't help that killer gets all their points just by playing the game but survivors are reliant on the killer to get their points (like if the killer is bad at chasing, you're not getting Altruism because there's no one to heal for example).
I've gotten the max BP (or damn close to it) as a killer a number of times. Even my very best survivor games usually cap at about 32000 BP. I can pretty reliably get 32K as a killer just playing an average game.
It's so hard to get decent BP as Survivor. It's dependant on things often out of your control.
I just think it'd be a decent QoL thing that would also probably encourage people to play games out a little more

The killer's job is to find survivors and kill them, that's their primary options.
The survivor's job is to repair, and hide, help teammates. The 3 generators were nearby so we went into stealthy option, which is a part of survivor gameplay.
Thus saying, slugging is considered to be game hostage scenario because survivors aren't able to repair and help their teammates, yet killer doesn't use his option to hook survivors. So?
Idk why you're arguing.
You got your answer.
Hiding and refusing to progress the game is a bannable offense. Deal with it and stop holding people hostage.
-
I think after a certain point, yes, Survivors refusing to do anything are holding the game hostage and it is bannable.

While yes, this also puts things like previous released killers that still haven´t gotten any rework, because the devs wanted to wait and see, into perspective.
SM should have never been released with the concept of locking down 3 gens. Since its a terribly boring way to play the game.
Agreed.

I don't believe the game is as imbalanced as you think it is, can you really say the game is imbalanced when we throw all matchmaking out of the window.
That 4 medkit swf team might just be a fair match against the 4 slowdown perk nurse or alchemy ring blight.
Ofcourse when they decide to dip out and mid mmr trapper main gets those survivors he'll get destroyed. But you can't really say that's because the game at it's core is horribly unbalanced when we screw with who faces what
And even if the game is as badly balanced as you say it is this lobby dodging prevents it from being balanced properly
It works the other way around too, a low mmr player might see a survivor team with 4 brown medkits and leaves, then those low mmr survivors suddenly face a high mmr onryo, she obviously destroyes them and if that happens regulary (which judging by this thread and it's responses isn't a bold claim) then it appears sadeko is doing allright at higher levels and won't recieve buffs.
One thing that i do agree on that it's not really the players fault that they don't want to face matches that are way above what they can do.
The whole backfill system needs to either be way more strict and not favor speed over accuracy as much or there needs to be something that prevents it to be messed with so much
Sorry but you can't claim a game is unbalanced when the playerbase knowingly screws with that balance
You can't cure the sickness if the symptoms could very well be false
There is zero reason to defend how it works now, it's in the favor of everyone that matchmaking works as well as it can.
I can't believe you enjoy dodging lobbies, you would want to get matches that are in your skill level right away right?
This post is not to accuse people who lobbydodge much but to bring attention to how harmfull it might be to do so
That's what I've been saying, except much more aggressively.
Like, I don't think MMR works well. However, maybe I'm wrong and it WOULD work well if lobby dodging and backfilling didn't happen every game.
If I could KNOW if I was backfilled in as Killer, I wouldn't try my ass off.

I'd argue Nemesis was a dud because of a pretty uninspired and dull kit that had quite a few bugs and literally broke over half of the playerbase's machines but even then looking at Twins, Knight, Skull Merchant, Artist, (and as much as it pains me to say, Sadako), he's still not even close to the biggest flop killer we've had.
I wouldn't.
He's got a strong and viable kit and he's pretty fun to play and to play against. Like, I'd rather play against Nemesis than at least half the cast. Is that a compliment to Nemy or an insult to the rest of the cast? Idk.
Also, yes, he did kinda break my mf xbox which I am still salty about.
RE Chapter was very hype but unfortunately, it did kinda flop on release. I think retrospectively, it was a good chapter now that those issues have been mostly fixed.

It is from 2022. It's missing bunch of killers. I recall there was similar one with more recent date which featured the general kill rate of all killers. It had Wesker and Sadako at top list with Nurse being officially the lowest tier. There was a big debate about it's accuracy as well.
It's missing the two Killers who have been released from that point.
This is the most recent one, iirc.

This does not consider human factor, also it's clear devs don't take top MMR numbers into consideration at all.
Also how are these numbers calculated? Does 65% chance kill rate mean that Wesker has 65% chance to get at least one kill per match, or does that mean he kills 65% of survivors per every match? According these numbers Wesker should reliably have 2k+ kill rate, but I doubt every Wesker match does end that way.
He gets 2K+ per match at the top 5% of mmr.

I don’t owe you an explanation.
Obviously.
That's why I asked and didn't demand one.
I'm genuinely curious how you determine if someone is in a SWF while you're still in the lobby if there aren't any obvious indicators like matching names.

None of those stats should be considered as they don't reflect the true state of things. I still remember where Sadako was considered as one of the few killers with highest kill rate. Guess what? Against beginners and bad players even trapper can have a 3k+ kill rate. When it comes to decent players ( especially swfs with voice ) killers like Sadako are at bottom tier with 1 kill on average.
I understand the logic developers do follow - they want game to be beginner-friendly and at low mmr level it's clear that survivors struggle a lot. Even with plenty of base-kit perks and lots of second chance perks the kill rate is indeed 2k+, but this problem comes from the lack of proper practice / learn field. Beginner survivors don't have a way to learn how to play other than start a match with random team mates where their chances of getting sacrificed are very high.
Survivors need a place to practice. Give them bot killer, at least one so they can practice to juke, hit skill checks, hide and help each other and you will notice how kill rates will go down because there will be less beginners being thrown as a food to experienced killers. As for people who willingly kill themselves on first hook - that's a human factor. Not much can be done there other than give such people ''incentive'' to actually play the match and not just die asap and move to the next one.
Unfortunately, these ARE the "high MMR" Kill Rates.

so what were those teams using to break the 3 gen in less than 20 minutes and can it be adapted by survivors to win the game?
i agree as well that no game should last an hour (actually it should not last longer than 30 minutes)
When two survivors hide in a losing situation playing hide and seek (for almost an hour)and not doing any objectives also needs to be looked at.
They could not break the 3-gen in under 20 minutes.
Few broke the 3-gen in the first place but only like one team broke it anywhere even close to 20 minutes.
You can't really adapt it, no. You need to basically play in a 4-man or get 4 Solo's who can play like a 4-man. You also need to have the correct perk set-up and be stubborn enough and good enough to outlast a SM.

The last part is essentially referencing you saying to just try but is ignoring the abysmal experience for killers at high mmr in good vs good matches with how unbalanced the game is. The second sentence is referencing that you wouldn't agree with this anyway because you don't think those common high mmr vs sweat swf really exists that often so you'd disagree with the base premise.
Essentially your entire premise revolves around those things being essentially okay because "hey the survivors could be bad". Something that is way less likely at high mmr. As said before, you'd disagree with this premise of mmr though which is why we disagree. For reference what if I told you ahead of time that you were going to play against a MDR Spirit with amulet that was just going to hard tunnel and stand in front of the hook this match. Would you want to play that? I mean I could say "hey she could be bad though so it's okay right?" I wouldn't make that argument. If you could know that ahead of time I would expect you to dodge as well.
I also think you downplay extremely, just how much of an advantage 4 medkits is. It isn't even remotely minor. Also with how prevalent BP is now higher quality medkits and addons are much, much more common. I've been starting to track my stats and there's at least one BNP, Syringe, or Styptic in 1/3 games for me now.
And how many of those games do you win with a Syringe? For me, it's almost all of them.
And I would disagree, you're correct. If there's high MMR lobbies, I haven't found them. I've even kept track of my last 100 games as Killer, decent win percentage, no high MMR consistently. I've played against a couple of bigger streamers, one scrim team and got sent to Europe for one game where I also played against a streamer (hi tru3!). The only thing consistent was that those games would be followed up by absolute cakewalks.
Medkits are busted. Not everyone brings Uberkits however. I bring a Brown Medkit with no addons into every trial with me since I can't trust my teammates to do anything. I suppose I could just bring CoH.
Would I want to play in that scenario? Yes. Would I want to play after 5 of those in a row? Probably not but I might continue to try to outplay and learn something. Maybe I can get in her head, there's always things to do and learn.

I’m with Blueberry on this one. The game isn’t balanced for SWF, and even BHVR has confirmed SWF gives an advantage. And I’m sorry, I don’t care how much criticism people bring up about “lobby shopping” or how it screws up the MMR or “you just want easy games” or “not every SWF is a death squad.”
Playing against SWFs isn’t fun. I want to have fun when I’m playing killer. So if I think the survivors are a SWF, I’ll dodge. And I’ll keep doing it until the game forces me to stop.
So you dodge based almost completely off of a feeling?
Or do you stalk people's friends lists?
Like, you can tell in-game if there's a SWF. Other than obviously matching names, how do you know in the lobby?

Between that and the DC games that were thrown out, it probably evens out.

Only reason I've dodged a few times is because I don't like facing the same people I just fought, especially if I'm playing the same Killer with the same build
It feels like I'd be giving them an advantage for no reason, plus it's boring facing the same people and I imagine facing the same Killer as the game prior would be boring too
Does this sound unfair to anyone? Genuinely curious.
Back when MMR was first added (it worked and gave long queues and sweaty games) prior to Crossplay, there were maybe 15-20 of us on Xbox who would just constantly and exclusively play against each other.
I think one of my favorite messages was, "We all really hate you but when you aren't playing, we can't find games, so thanks."
It's a little unfair, but in my example we kinda knew who we were gonna play against.
