People stack gen regression because it's easy. They like to give themselves the best chance to win.
For most of your matches, PR on it's own is enough.
Also, a sub-30 Solo gen is nearly impossible in a live game.

Srop posting bait.

Maybe.
In power Oni is one of the strongest Killers in the game.

Or, and hear me out on this. This isn't the only thing that is going to change.
They are obviously trying to make the game more about spreading pressure and going for chases rather than 3-genning, which based on these forums is what everyone wants.
What if they do this change, then the next thing they do is realize that they probably should nerf gen speed perks, and then buff gen progression at base again, Maybe 75 second gens even? And then give killers a mini corrupt basekit, or some other thing so the early game doesn't end instantly. Then survivors can spend less time on gens, and killers spend more time chasing rather than camping.
Yes, well, that all sounds nice. I'm sure it's going to be very popular when it releases in 2024.

I don't understand why, though.
If I am playing Basement Bubba, and you come running down the stairs to save..... your health status is irrelevant. I'm going to rev the weedwhacker and take you both out.
The Insidious Bubba thing was mostly a meme.
This really just lets the average Killer camp extremely effectively, once again hurting Solo Q.

With a basic killer, not named Nurse or Blight, I would argue it’s impossible.
Wesker, Spirit, Pyramid Head, Huntress, Deathslinger, Artist, Skull Merchant, Knight, Pinhead.
I've seen all of these Killers played against extremely high-level players to an extremely effective degree.

just curious why would you play more? to see how you fare against higher level players? and yeah it is sad that there are really no long term goals in this game
I'd just compare myself to streamers and comp players.
See how high I can push it

Depends on many, many, factors. Sometimes the killer has a power that makes that hard. Sometimes you are hooked a million miles from an open gate. Maybe someone has Reassurance. Maybe the guy on hook tried to 4% and threw away a chunk of his timer. Maybe no one wants to mess with NOED and just leaves.
This change will literally give every Killer Bubba's camping power.
If people are injured and someone is on hook, that's literally game over. It's gonna take more than 12 seconds to FIND teammates to heal and another 50 to heal both of those people.
These changes are so awful. Double saves are going to be extremely hard.

It’s not entitled to want to be able to win against a good team. Bad survivors expecting to win is entitlement.
I promise you, it's completely possible to win against good teams.
Provided you, yourself, are also good.
Being the worse player and expecting to win is entitlement, after all

Somehow, Insidious Bubba is being buffed this patch.

the only long term goals is getting every character to p100 and finishing the lores...what would change if you could see your mmr though?
That's my point. There's no long-term goals.
I'd play more if I could see my MMR.

There's nothing else to say but skill issue.

So healing will be longer and gens will go faster. It's not good on any side but no way will killers be stronger then now. Inner healing will be more popular perhaps that is a fast heal and with Bond you can always find survivors if you can't do gens injured which is mostly a low MMR problem with survivors always wanting to heal.
Inner Strength also has a strict and limited activation requirement.
-
I suggest they add me as a Survivor.
I will be very tall but I will not take up much of your screen (please pick me, my perks are bad and I will have no cosmetics)

Both killers and survivors got buffs and nerfs, and both sides are complaining lol

I agree.
DH, while still being the most used survivor perk, was actually in a good spot. Devs should have buffed the lesser used exhaustion perks instead.
The healing nerf will lead to 2 things, survivors repairing gens while injured and high mobility killers increasing their kill rate. The lower tier killers are still left in the dust and whats worse, they have now even less stuff to deal with gen rushes.
Dark times ahead.
I think Killers, as a whole, will be MUCH stronger.
The VAST majority of players are extremely uncomfortable playing injured.
It's gonna be 2018 DBD but with the competitive mindset of 2023 DBD.
-
Yeah.
This update pretty much decimates Solo Q.
-
Considering your posts, you would absolutely HATE what comp players do with the game lmao
-
I suppose I'm just tired of it at this point.
The gross incompetence and refusal to acknowledge the higher-end of players.
No average Billy was using Engravings to curve. That was all high-level and it wasn't even strong but it was FUN.
No average Nurse was getting hit by Lightburn or stopped from Blinking via flashlight. That was all high-level and it was a key counter-play to Nurse.
CoH is, for all intents and purposes, dead outside of SWF. DH is a secondary Exhaustion perk and still has its core issues, ie, it doesn't work half the time. Overcharge still punishes new players unfairly and it still combos with CoB, meaning the 3-gen meta is still viable.
It's just so disappointing to see the same mistakes repeated ad nauseum.
-
So are really good toolboxes and Keys with Blood Amber the best Survivor item post-patch?
Med-kits will be okay, I think. They won't be especially good, mostly because of Sloppy Butcher and the ease at which most Killers get hits.

Ghostface gets 4ks in comp? Please I'd love to see the rules that are in place for that tournament for a Ghostface to 4k. Everytime I watch a comp team vs a killer the killers gets 1 or 2 hooks and 5 gens are done. Because its pre-drop city.
Yup.

Tunneling is not bad. Don't listen to people who make it out to be the worst moral failing of the game. Usually if you are even able to tunnel as certain killers, it's because the survivors are doing something wrong anyway.
Hit and run is fine too, but in the current meta it is a little weak.
POV: I played wrong by getting unhooked
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
So, there's potentially a better build for this:
Self Care (Rank1) on survivor.
Killer brings: Dying Light (10 stacks), Pentimento (2 stacks), Sloppy Butcher, and Hex:Face the Darkness.
All debuffs are permanent, because we can assume only the Obsession and the Self Care survivor (you) are alive and on death hook, Pentimento is not being cleansed, and the Obsession is the one activating Face the Darkness. You are self-caring outside the killer's Terror Radius.
So with this, you have a permanent heal speed of ~10.2 seconds per charge. In 25 seconds, you heal for 2.45 charges. However, you then scream because of Hex: Face the Darkness, and the increased Hemorrhage effect of Sloppy Butcher regresses your heal at a rate of 2.1 charges per second while you are screaming.
Now, there's an unknown here where I can't find the duration of the scream to know exactly how much this regresses, but let's play with numbers and assume the scream length is 0.5 seconds for further calculations.
Since you scream for 0.5 seconds, you regress 1.05 of the charges you just earned, and over that 25.5 second period, you only gained a net 1.4 charges. That means, that for that entire 25.5 second period, you actually were healing as if you only had an effective speed of 18.21 seconds per charge.
Meaning that this method will take roughly 7 minutes and 17 seconds to fully heal, which is on par with the other method, but doesn't require weird Leverage timing or the Obsession to die with exact bleed out timing.
Also, since we don't actually know the scream length for sure, it gets *far worse* if the scream is longer. If a scream takes 1 full second instead of 0.5, it takes 29 minutes and 43 seconds to heal this way. If a scream takes longer than 1.167 seconds, it is literally impossible to heal with this setup. (This is also impossible with Pinhead, btw, because the chain hunt will interrupt you for more than a second and more often than H:FtD, guaranteed.)
Hmmm.
Keep Leverage but assume it's a Legion with the Hemorrhage and Mangled add-ons. Now we get both.
I tried to look for scream interruption info, but I can't find anything on how long the scream lasts.
-
I think people are worried it'll be like our current iteration of hit n run. Hit and run to the gens.
I know you were around back then, basically imagine the old no-heal gen rush 2018 meta but with today's perks and the general increase in skill.
That's what is coming to us.
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
About 315.89 seconds, or 5 minutes and ~16 seconds.
Self care T1: 25% (or 1 charge every 4 seconds)
Pentimento: 30%
Coulrophobia: 50%
Dying Light 10: 30% (up to 33% at the 11th hook)
Leverage: 50% for 30s
Worst case scenario:
You're the last survivor standing. Survivor #1 is already dead, survivors 2 and 3 are downed. You begin self caring immediately when survivor #2 is hooked to death, triggering DL at 10 stacks and Leverage for 30s. For 30 seconds, you are healing one charge every 22.85 seconds. In the 30s while Leverage is active, you heal a total of 1.31 charges of the 24 you need to full heal.
Exactly at the 30 second mark, survivor #3 is hooked to death. Leverage triggers again for 30s and Dying Light is now 11 stacks. For 30 seconds, you heal one charge every 23.88 seconds. While Leverage is active you heal another 1.25 charges, making the total 2.56 charges out of 24.
For the next ~255 seconds, you heal at a rate of one charge every 11.94 seconds for the remaining ~21.4 charges you need.
That seems to be about what I'm getting, so if we're wrong, it's both of us lol
I gotta see this in action on the PTB
-
I think, using GBK's formula, that with JUST Coulrophobia, it's 192 seconds.
So, would I just repeat the formula for every perk and then add them together? Or do they need to be factored in all at once?
-
@MrPsych said:
So um. 24 seconds at base, with 25% healing speed: 40 seconds is our baseline.
10 stacks of Leverage is 50%, so we should bring this up at 60 seconds.
Pentimento is an extra 30% so... 72 seconds?
Coulrophobia is another flat 50% and we cross the threshold of 92 seconds.
Maximum Dying light is 33%, should be 13.2 seconds and now we are at 105.2 seconds.
And for fun, let's say the survivor is also mangled. That's 25% more. 10 more seconds and this survivor will have successfully spent 115.2 seconds self-caring in a corner!
And this is of course assuming that all the percentages all work off the baseline time. Who needs generators?
EDIT: Wait my first calculation is wrong! The baseline should be higher!
I think @GoodBoyKaru's calcs earlier said Tier 3 Self-Care + Mangled would be 85 seconds. Shouldn't this be significantly longer?
-
Anyone here good at math?
I've got a great question about self-care lmao
-
I think these are some of the worst changes I've ever seen.
-
I don't think any Boon is worth running after this update.
-
People really love to mald about not being skilled enough to beat DH huh.
I mean, sure, look forward to the omega genrush meta.
-
Healing changes are awful and promote gen rushing.
Perk changes are mostly bad. Don't solve any problems and there's still dozens of bad perks.
Billy got nerfed and Nurse got buffed. There's a ton of Killers who still need add-on passes but haven't got any. Twins rework is still pending after over a year.
Overall, 1/10 and the 1 is for the attempt.
-
Yeah, it's gonna be rough.
I'm expecting kill rates to go WAY up. I'll definitely be keeping track of my games, but it seems like I might actually be able to manage a 100% win rate if these changes go through lmao

Because prove gives only bp right? It doesn't speed up too much gens in a game where also 1 second can change a match
It saves like 7 seconds on a gen.
You WANT people to have PT because it means they are being EXTREMELY inefficient.

Prove isn't even good lmao
Idc if you nerf it, it's good for BP but that's it.

Well, I suppose it'll be fun to return to how it all started for me. Back to 2018 DBD.
Resilence, Adrenaline, We'll Make It and an Exhaustion perk.
Let's go.

1000 it's a lot time spent in a single videogame, if anyone says otherwise they're clearly not ok. if MMR system doesn't work, shouldn't they focus on fixing it so killers get matches which they can win without dirty strats?
Eh, not really. I've got 5K and I'm still not even close to the most on my friends list for DBD.
You CAN win most of your games without tunneling. If you can't, then there are other aspects of your gameplay that you need to improve on, most likely.

that was an example: if survivors are good they'll give you an hard time even without the usual bs (but still they were a premade, with the map choosed by them and a brand new part and 2 dead hard aganist a NERFED wesker with only deadlock as gen defense)... those ones were extremely fast to do gen and they were decent at looping, but as i said before i won because at a certain point i didn't wasted time by hooking, just slugging everyone of them cause they were too much efficent with the genspeed (this explain why everyone here made few points, me included). If i wanted to put a screenshot about survivors that were bad but they were EXTREMELY annoying due to all the BS that they used, then i've another screenshot that will tell you without doubt that those survivors were bad just by looking at the killer that i was using and the map that they putted

(nerfed trickster with a build that was made for the purpose of farming together with the others btw)
....so you nerfed yourself hard and still 4K'd against a meta SWF "bully" squad?
You aren't really making a good case for Survivors being too strong here.
-
Well, this is certainly interesting.
Definitely a huge net buff for Killers. I'm surprised DS wasn't changed.
I am sad that they continue to nerf Billy and refuse to address his abysmal collision.

You don't get how mmr system works, most players are bad indeed, they're in low mmr zone which you wil leave soon enough. But after that you get matched against high mmr players who all spend at least 2-3 hours in game every day, hell i see people with more then 1000 hours in my every game.
1000 hours isn't a lot of time in DBD.
It is a little cute that you think the MMR system works that well.
These "high mmr" players you claim to see? They probably aren't actually very good. It's likely that you just haven't quite gotten to their level yet.
Now, the competitive teams that I've had the pleasure of playing against in small tournaments, they've forced me to tunnel or proxy. That's at the literally highest end of DBD though, you won't find them often, if it all, in pubs.
-
I think what Billy really needs is a collision rework.

it really is, if you play against equal skill SWF. And if you say otherwise, then either you're survivor main trying to be salty, or game matches you against lower skill players.
Most players are bad, yes, even those SWF's. You do not need to tunnel them.
Tunneling is easy, I get it. You just want to hop on and have fun, not actually try.
In some matches, yes, you will need to tunnel. Thankfully, those matches are few and far between. Most people use tunneling as a crutch for a lack of skill in other areas.

just like killers aren't complaining about getting tot kills par match, but the fact that they are FORCED to play in that way if they want reach their goal, not to mention that some people should be punished for the toxicity showed in matches but since we know that devs on that matter won't ever punish someone for this (i did so MANY reports with screenshots as proofs, where people were using slurs, death threats and even some of them admitting that they were cheating... all of them unanswered obviously). The perfect examples was the 2 matches that i did 2 days ago with Wesker and another 2 that i did yesterday: one in rpd where i played with the survivor's rules (going for mixed hooks, not camping and not tunneling), got a 0/4 despite short chases (would have been shorter if wasn't for the usual dead hard that all the survivors in that match had) because they actually played to be optimal (finishing gens almost completed despite i was at 2 meters from them, bodyblocking for denying a successful chase, etc etc)... they had fun, but for me it was only frustrating seeing people tryharding so much and having their asses saved by perks (put also adrenaline into the equation)... 2nd day i still was rather annoyed for being punished for playing well so i went again for the usual playstyle that survivors hate (occasional proxicamping and focusing on tunneling the 1st survivor out from the game asap...). Perks, survivor's skills and items/addons were similar to the previous matches, but wanna know what changed? i actually had a better result on everything, both in kills (3/4 and 4/4) and in hooks (11/12 hooks and 6 hooks for the 2nd one cause in that match i wasn't giving importance to hooking people due to their speed at doing generators aganist the 6 and 4 hooks of the 1st day) by playing in a way that i DON'T ENJOY (but generally speaking i doubt that people enjoy this playstyle generally speaking) than by playing in the way that this game is "supposed" to be played.
P.s: this is another reason why i made this thread: if developers are giving tools for countering the unfun tactics that killer can use it could be ABSOLUTELY fine IF they'll compensate by making viable the GOOD GAMEPLAY, but this is not the case unfortunately and personally speaking i'm tired to being forced to play in that way in order to keep up the pace aganist good survivors... i play for having fun, not for work like streamers do... i should have also a screenshot of one of those matches...
for those that think that i'm not a good killer btw mind you that i was playing with a nerfing addon since usually i play with those ones for chilling (few people on this forum will probably have the guts to do those things btw)... a pity that the survivors that i'm aganist won't EVER do the same thing (especially since they'll abuse map offering whenever they had the chance)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CBGAIBD6IVBP/img-20230324-075734.jpg
What exactly is this supposed to show?
We have no idea how good or bad the Survivors were. I'd wager on bad, considering they didn't get many points and are running some pretty meh stuff.
-
@Chomperka said:
No, it would. Right now if you want to win, your only choice is to tunnel and camp. NO OTHER OPTIONS, except if you nurse/blight and down 4 survs first minute of course.
But! if you increase objective timer, and there'd be option to not tunnel/camp and still get -4, i bet amount of those dirty tactics will be reduced. But of course you just can't remove it completely(except giving last hooked survivor imunnity to hooks, but that'd be too much).
It really isn't your only choice to win.
It's just the easiest way to win.
