what about your system/pc?
I put a fan on my Xbox and elevated it to promote better air flow and cooling.
-
Honestly it looks like they did pretty well.
Two people going for the adept with bad perks against a full meta SM? Not bad.
Doesn't excuse the comments, but I get being frustrated after likely being held in a 3-gen
-
You can play almost every single Killer at a high level and do perfectly fine in 95% of your games.
Killers have received significant buffs in the last year.
People are upset that SM and Knight seemingly must hold 3-gens if played optimally. I've actually found Knight to be fairly oppressive in chases, but SM is most certainly not.
If you are playing against meta Survivors and you refuse to play optimally or use optimal perks, you should not expect to win and we should not rebalance the game to allow you to win.
Likewise, Potential Energy is a horrible perk and Prove really isn't good.

Uhuh. Sure. It's 4 items every game. Mostly medkits / toolboxes. Mostly with iri addons. That did change. Before 6.1.0 that was considered very rare. Now it's literally every game.
If your games aren't like this, then consider yourself lucky.
Also how do you know the actual kill rates? The last official stats we had are more than half a year old.
That....hasn't changed? Med-kits and toolboxes have always been very prevalent since Keys were destroyed?
Those Kill Rates are still from the post meta shake-up. We've only really had one significant balance patch since then.
A 38.7% escape rate at the HIGHEST MMR. I believe this was also with DH having the longer Endurance duration, iirc.

I'd trade old Haddonfield for Garden of Misery any day. At least Haddonfield had to be played exactly right to live up to it's reputation.
Also keep in mind that after 6.1.0 many things have changed. Including the amount of strong items, addons and offerings per game as well as the new survivor HUD. I don't think the argument: "Killer is easier than ever." holds true now.
A year ago I did better in my matches. Mostly because I (as far as I can remember) I never had a match that ended in 4 minutes (aside from cheaters). That isn't a rare occurance for me now.
The number of items hasn't changed.
My own personal kill rate has gone up. Kill rates across the board have also gone up.
-
Well, I guess I'm glad some people are enjoying her.
She's objectively poorly designed though. Like, I enjoy Legion. Does that mean that I think he's a well-designed Killer? No, just means I like playing him.

Yes, because that's what I said. Out of everything I wrote that was the right takeaway, good job on your reading comprehension buddy :)
Serves me right for responding to a survivor main, uhg you're so uninspired and always regurgitating the same nonsense.
Are you SURE I'm a Survivor main?
Think carefully and consider that you shouldn't call people names because they disagree with you; that's a very childish reaction :)
-
I think he's fine.
His only real weakness is getting his first hit. If you can get a hit within the first minute and a half, you can usually win.

No, I wouldn’t. He takes too long to get going. Good survivors know to predrop and not give him that first hit. He won’t get his power until the game is close to over.
He does well in tournaments.

They've both already been nerfed heavily.

Well that's certainly a massive generalisation! For some killers like Nurse, Blight and maybe Spirit? Yes, it is.
For your average M1 killers it is not, and that's mostly because of the maps. When Borgo came out, it was an overly faulty map, the amount of clutter around and within loops was and sometimes still IS insane.
The fact that there are tiles with many pallets connecting to windows that connect to X amount of more pallets... those are the things that need some looking into. Map sizes should get looked at, new Eeyrie is so much more balanced. Don't get me started on the hit-validation on Garden of Pain, and the bushes... OP is right to some degree, the game needs more balancing, perhaps less butchering of certain perks and more MAPS 😁✌️
Oh?
So you'd rather go back to Old Haddonfield with old DH?
The game is 10x easier for Killers now.

That isn't the argument you think it is.
What is it then?
You said, "This game has become so survivor-biased."
The game was literally JUST at it's most Killer-sided. Eruption being nerfed is a big deal, but this is still the BEST Killer has been since the game came out.

That doesn’t mean that killers should stop asking for fundamental game issues to be examined.
Like?
Killer is pretty damn good right now for me. It might be a bit too easy, but that's probably just me.
Likewise, I never said they shouldn't continue to address issues as they arise, but OP's opinion is simply wrong.
-
She can hold three-gens until the game server closes, so, she does have that going for her.
-
Killer is far better now than it was a year ago.
-
Edited it to show the full context
-
My longest match was around 12 hours. It's been around four years since then, but I definitely remember it.
Someone bugged out right after the EGC was first added. Couldn't pick them up, they couldn't bleed out and the EGC didn't kill them. I went to bed and when I came back they were still there.
-
I think it proves people hate being trapped in a hour long battle of attrition.
I'd rather play against Array than have to play against SM.
-
Hopefully they just completely rework her.
Still, this isn't anywhere near as bad as OG Legion

Talking about stuff like spacing your drones in a way you create a highway of undetectable. Zoning the survivors you chase into other survivors you know the location of so you can harrass multiple people at once. Dipping in and out of her undetectable status to catch people ofguard also can be pretty fun.
She's also really good at slugging for pressure. Being able to keep tabs on a slug while you chase another survivor and know when a third one is coming to pick the slug up is pretty good pressure for a m1 killer. And i know that slugging isn't exactly high on the survivors enjoyment list too but it beats 45 minute games
Sadly all those things require decision making and it's just not as easy as just putting up a 3 gen and wait untill the survivors bore themself to dead
I think the issue is that you can do all of that WHILE performing the 3-gen strategy.
I don't see a way to encourage that style of play whilst also not making her stronger in a 3-gen
-
@Sonzaishinai said:

-"Lery's is one of the best Killer maps for non-mobility Killers"
The library is insanely strong. There is only a strong 3 gen guaranteed on one end of the map. There are so many things about this map that suck. This map has a ton of vaults that lead to more vualts/pallets.
You can hide literally anywhere and you can't see startled birds from 50m away. This is most definitely not a killer map.
-"What do you mean 3-gen or gtfo is broke?"
I enjoy playing Nemesis. if I play suffocation pit I claim one end of the map and that's my side. They cant touch the 4 gen on that side. if they do I hurt them. Eventually all the pallets are gone and someone goes down. Then I camp them to death. This is very boring but it is how you win 90% of your games on this map.
The same strategy is the only way to win on Azerov's and RPD. You use attrition to remove pallets and don't commit to any chases unless someone is out of position and you can down them quickly.
Maps that are fair like : wrecker's yard and Abattoir are small so you can make a 3 gen with most of the generator options.
-"Groaning doesn't have many good three gens spots at all? The gen spread is awful"
The last time I played this map it was a 10 second walk to go from gen A to B to C. I could see gens C and A from generator B.
You haven't learned where to hold the right gens on this map yet.
The Library has a single pallet that can be easily forced out. The window isn't strong either.
Oh, I see. You agree that those maps a fairly Killer-sided as there's not much Survivors can do against a war of attrition when gens are split unfairly by RNG. Gotcha.
These are the gen spawn locations that I remember on Groaning Storehouse. Many of these cannot spawn all at once. A gen is guaranteed in the following sections: 7 or 6 and 3 or 4. There will usually be one in 11 as well.
That's THREE corners opposite of each other. Trust me, I know my gen spawns. Are you sure you're thinking of the right map?

we'll see (i won't consider the size of the map in this instance since everyone know how big certain maps are):
1 Badham (variations included): awful due to certain pallets that are too much safe paired with loops that can be chained easily alongside with 4 strong buildings (shack, the school, the "fake basement" and the house with brekable walls)
2 haddonfiled : few pallets (all of them are safe except for 2) overall but, but it's one of the safest maps in the game due to the houses that can be considered (almost) infinites (bonus: i personally despise that map)
3 swamp (boat): the boat is an infinite, pallets are enough safe and there's a couple of zones that are really annoying to deal with (bonus: i personally despise that map)
3.1 swamp (house): that house is evil incarnate due to the HUGE resources that survivors have to keep you busy (worthless chaing in that zone unless you are aganist potatoes or you are using the nurse), not to mention the other smaller building that aganist 4.4 killers is an infinite, collisions and hitboxes are weird (bonus: i personally despise that map)
4 garden of joy (pain): another map with a building that's an actual infinite, tons of pallets (most of them safe) easily chainable between each other and jungle gyms (bonus: i personally despise that map)
5 macmillan (soffocation pit): the mine it's a strong loop, add also that the centre of the map is a loopfest full of walls and window easily chainable between each other (bonus: i personally despise that map)
5.1 macmillan (ironwork of misery): strong building paired with good amount of pallets and jungle gyms easily chainable
5.2 macmillan (groaning storehouse): same as above
5.3 macmillan (shelter woods): same as above
5.4 macmillan (coal tower): same as above (but at least with less jungle gyms)
6 corn maps (all variants): low visibility paired with safe pallets and certain buildings that are too much safe (nothing new until now)
7 the game: palletown
8 erie of crows: good amount of pallets and windows, but this one is somewhat fair if rng won't screw you badly with double pallets (a pity for the height of certain loops that won't give any chance for ranged killers tho)
9 lery: too much walls, too much windows and too much pallets all together (bonus: i personally despise that map)
10 ormond: the central building is strong and some loops aren't exactly fair
11 midwitch: good and strong amount of pallets that can be chained with windows
12 dead dwag saloon: only 2 zones are really problematic/strong: the saloon itself and the jungle gyms (it can be easily considered a WHOLE and HUGE jungle gym) on the other side of the map
13 autohavens: aside the central buildings that are strong loops and the ones with a bus, the map has a fair amount of jungle gyms
14 raccon city: palletown plus a couple of loops really nasty to deal with with no room for mindgames
15 crotus (asylum): strong central building with many jungle gyms
15.1 crotus (chapel): central building can spawn with an infinite in it, good amount of jungle gyms
16 yamaoka maps: weird collisions, a couple of jungle gyms and good amount of pallets
17 decimated borgo: actually the worst map in the game imo with extremely bad hitboxes, collisions and objects placement (look at the shack for example: it's even more safe due to the objects that will block the killer more easily), tons of pallets, loops and jungle gyms, not to mention the awful colors that this map have (good luck finding pools of blood and scratchmarks here). Bonus: i HATE this map with a burning passion
18 red forest maps (new): too much objects (ranged killers will cry when they'll play in this map, killers like billy, wesker, blight and oni to some degree are heavily hindered), loops were enforced and the main structures still have the same problems as before (the house in the huntress map is still an infinite)
19 HAWKINS: (REDACTED)
this sums up everything
2.) I'd say there are way more unsafe pallets on Haddonfield than safe one's.
3.) There are no infinites.
4.) There are no infinites.
5.) The map also tends to load up one side with gens and few pallets, so just avoid the middle.
5.1) Ironworks main building isn't really that strong. Maybe if they have CoH, but the map itself has tiles fairly spaced out with some dead zones mixed in.
7.) The Game has a lot of pallets but the fact that it's a TINY map with bad LoS and bad gen spread closes the gap imo.
9.) There are a fair amount of pallets, but most are unsafe and easy to mindgame. It's also indoors with limited LoS, Survivors often don't know exactly where you are.
11.) Midwich has some absolutely awful pallets. There's maybe TWO safe pallets on that entire map.
14.) RPD is a miserable experience but it's incredibly easy to three gen and some of the pallets are ######### awful.
18.) There are still no infinites.
I'm glad that we've covered that you think every map in the game is Survivor-sided lol

Wreckers Yard is the fair map. It is small, has no BS building and a fair number of pallets although they are strong pallets. Generally speaking if a map is 9000m² or smaller it has the potential to be fair.
Lest we all forget that one of the most fair maps ever in the game was Demo's map. It was small and had mostly mindgamable pallets.
Coal tower is not fair because it is too easy to jump from one tile to the next without actually using resources. Iron Works of Misery often has the same problem. I played a game on IWoM tonight and if I had not brought Bamboozle there would have been a near infinite loop where a window from one gym linked to another.
After Wreckers yard the next most fair map is probably Father Campbell's Chapel. What do both of the fair maps have in common? Small size and you can make a 3 gen in numerous places.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3362403#Comment_3362403
-"Shelter woods is really killer sided"
Maybe for Nurse and Blight pre-patch. Overall this map was broken for most M1 killers before they added the completely ridiculous and broken "camp" building.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3366816#Comment_3366816
-"corn maps (all variants): low visibility paired with safe pallets and certain buildings that are too much safe"
This is not true. Rancid Abattoir is the only fair corn map. It's ~8700m² and I win something like 97% of games on this map.
The worst corn map in my opinion is Torment Creek which is ~10750m². I lose something like 95% of games on this map. I only win if survivors play it real dumb and let me three gen on the strong side of the map.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3362367#Comment_3362367
"Most of the MacMillan and Autohaven maps are Killer-sided I feel, besides Gas Heaven and Groaning Storehouse."
Groaning Storehouse has some of the strongest 3 gen potential of any map in the game. Also you can almost always hook someone in the middle of a three gen or on the "wing" edges of a map and soft camp someone from 30m away. This is one of the easiest maps to win if you play like I do.
Ironworks is "mostly" fair but way too big. Every other map in the MME tileset is in the "not fair" list. Any map in the 3 gen or gtfo list is automatically thrown in the the broken pile. Therefore RPD, Azarov's and suffocation pit are broken.
Wretched shop is "borderline" in terms of fair. It's too big and needs to lose some area and then maybe I would put it in the fair category. It's not omg I hate this map but it's not an easy win.
"RPD is probably Killer-sided but the map is just miserable, Midwich is Killer-sided."
Any map in the 3 gen or gtfo list is automatically thrown in the the broken pile. Therefore RPD, Azarov's and suffocation pit are all broken.
Let's talk about something very briefly.... Midwich is killer sided but it's not "garden of joy" level killer sided.
-"I think Lery's is Killer-sided as well, though perhaps Killer-leaning would be more accurate. I think the same of The Game, depending on the Killer."
Lery's favors survivors unless you are playing Ghostface, scratched Mirror MM or Hag. Those killers make this map miserable for survivors. Lerys is way too big and has far too many vaults for it to be fair.
Groaning doesn't have many good three gens spots at all? The gen spread is awful, there's gens guaranteed to spawn in four different corners.
What do you mean 3-gen or gtfo is broke?
Lery's is one of the best Killer maps for non-mobility Killers imo. It's got 3 or 4 strong pallets, RNG dependent vaults and a whole lot of LoS blockers.

While I am certainly disappointed in the quality of the content we've received, saying that there hasn't been any is simply incorrect

May I ask what you find about Lery’s that is killer favoured? I personally find it kinda survivor sided with the amount of strong interconnected loops.
It's indoors with very limited LoS.
Some of the pallets are good, some are really bad.

It’s completely out of control and the only ones who don’t agree with this are survivor mains who never play killer and will also never play a match without DH because they would lose way more matches without it. At high levels, killers regularly have to deal with 5-10 extra health states on top of the advantage that survivors already get from communication in SWF teams.
how is this fair?
I guess I'm a filthy Survivor main who clearly abuses Dead Hard and never ever plays Killer.

The devs can't win in that regard. When they bring out anti-loop killers, survivors complain that looping is pointless and all they can do is hold Shift + W.
When they bring out killers without anti-loop, killers complain that they just get looped for ages and can't do anything.
With how the game currently is though, killers do need -some- kind of anti-loop in their kit or else you simply can't beat a team of good loopers. Some really good survivors simply -don't- fall for mind games and then the chase is literally just circling a pallet a half-dozen times, hit them, they run to another loop, you run around it another half-dozen times, then Dead Hard... That or it's pre-drop every pallet on the map while their teammates bash out gens.
People like Wesker.
He's strong, fair and fun. He's got interesting and engaging mechanics but isn't overbearing.

Because whether a swing is unreactable or not, the Killer has no way to know exactly when the E is going to come out. Survivors will often specifically try to hold DH for when the Killer least expects it.
And if you've been playing the game for this long, you already know all this. Playing dumb is unbecoming of you.
He lost more time than he gained by waiting.
He should've swung when he was close and she would've gone down.
Like you said, I've been playing a long time. It's not that difficult to deal with. Otz was clearly trying to prove a point

Though if you want clips of top-tier Killer players, especially tournament-winning Killers, losing outright to abuse of Dead Hard specifically, that's a bit of a tall order, given that Dead Hard is banned or limited in most DbD tournament rulesets, for some reason.
She literally landed 0 Dead Hard's
