I'm just saying, it went so quick and I'm not even good with loops and jukes but I'm not exaggerating the ratio of wait:play time. Especially today the waits were so long.

I got lucky and got want i needed to work with but yeah I know what you mean I had to do that with ghostface and constantly grind on another killer.
My favorite is when people dis on a build I pick when they can't see what level my killer is or what perk selection I have.
Currently running spirit for the conniption achievement, and I run NOED (easier to down people with haunting) with Rancor (also makes one easy down) because I only have 4 perks at tier 3. This gets me hate mail.

We really need individual ranks for all killers, I wouldn't have started playing Oni if i didn't save up bloodpoints to get decent perks.
1M bloodpoints doesn't even make it to teachable perks and if you have several already unlocked, you won't unlock the ones you want it you won't get them to a high tier.
Other than that I 100% agree with you. On the same note, you shouldn't have to use BPS earned by other characters to level up the one you want to play.

The statistics are an issue that causes this problem of perception.
Truth is, Killer's are really easy to get 4K's with throughout the "majority" of ranks. Probably all the way to about Rank 8 or so it is very easy to get 4K as a "decent" killer with practice.
But once you hit Rank 8, all you end up facing are Red Rank Survivors. Rank 8-5 every single one of my matches had at least 3 Red Rank 2-4 Survivors and most of them were in parties of 2 or more SWF.
Once this happens, and you start playing against those type of Survivors.. all of the sudden you start seeing constant 4 Survivors escaping.
The bottom line, and truth of the game, is that once you get into "Red Ranks" which is the "End-Game" of DBD technically, especially for a Killer who automatically pips whether they try to or not because of EASY 4K's in Ranks 20-8 .. all of the sudden the game becomes EXTREMELY Survivor sided.
I really honestly wish we could just play an "Unranked" game mode for fun whenever we don't feel like playing like a "sweaty try-hard" or want to practice a new Killer, but there is NO SUCH GAME MODE... which means, we go from literally having to not try AT ALL to get 4K against bad Survivors to all of the sudden having to constantly try our HARDEST and still get wrecked by Pro Survivors.
A lot of this has to do with skill and the extreme learning curve and skill cap of DBD unfortunately, I suppose for both Killer and Survivor.. but there just really isn't a good middle ground.
Green ranks you would think is the middle ground, but it is still too easy for Killer.
Purple ranks is way too hard because you are now facing Red Rank survivors. Red Rank survivors are honestly too good at the game, and have too many tools to succeed in safe looping Killers and Gen rushing and working as a team.
This means that in the END. ULTIMATELY the BEST KILLER in the entire game vs. THE BEST 4 SWF SURVIVORS .. will never really have a chance, unless he just gets super lucky. At 100% optimal performance, Survivors will ALWAYS win, because its 4v1.
This is the problem for Killers, and EVERY single time there is a new Killer Nerf to help "New Survivors" because it its TRUE that it is WAY TOO EASY to KILL Inexperienced Survivors.. it just Widens the gap even more for Killers to do well against the "Pro Red Rank Survivors" that are already dominating them.
At least this has been my experience thus far, and in my opinion the biggest issue with balance in DBD. Somehow Balancing has to be done in ways that make it more challenging for the "Pro Survivors" and yet easier for the "New Survivors" in order to be fair for the Killer. But as of now any Survivor change or Killer change effects ALL Survivors ability at the same time.
Man I agree, even at rank 9 green rank I've seen 4 rank 2s against me. I'm not afraid to admit it but I straight DC until I'm rank 11 or 12 because like you said I'm trying to have fun or play with a new killer and I don't feel like I should have to try hard, or deal with teabags because some DBD lifer knows exactly where and when to go to be safe.
And no matter what, red ranks always message some toxic ######### after a match, win or lose it even if your wraith invisible in the basement the whole time, they still have to respond with something.
This is why I don't care about DCing, 90% of the time I'm right on the money, all red ranks with 2-3 DS, BT, DH perks between all of them. When they sling toxic crap my way, I just say "thanks, deranking anyway going to return the favor to the yellow and brown ranks and ruin their game" which gets a "that's pretty pathetic man", setting me up for "says the red rank to the green rank who just wants to have fun". Usually they shut up at this point or they just say blame behavior.
Bottom line is ######### red rank survivors.

As a ######### survivor main, the new Ruin has me rather concerned. I mean, are we just going to ignore the fact that the new Ruin is gonna allow killers like Hag and Doc to 3gen even harder? Because I can see the number of 3genners rising, if not because Ruin allows it to be ridiculously strong, then simply out of spite against the Devs, which they then externalize via ruining all of the survivors' fun.
Like, just think about every 3gen situation you've won, and try to imagine winning it if the generator regression speed was twice as fast. If that doesn't send a chill down your spine, then maybe you haven't actually won any 3gen games, and I can't blame you for it.
Also, Devs, your clear survivor bias was obvious as ḿerde in the dev blog post, and the fact you even thought it was ok to hide the ranks at the endgame really does show just in how much of an ass direction this game is going. I don't like being treated like someone who still needs to suck on my mom's voluptuous tatta, even if most people who main the same side as I do still need to do that. Maybe it would be better to force them to let go of it instead of pandering to them, food for thought. Even though they can't eat yet becau- you get what I meant.
If you're scared of the room change then you're a potato. I'm on console and I'm could care less if he's ruin....... ######### just had a game last night where I seemed next to a hex totem, cleansed devour literally in the time it takes to perform a full cleanse.
So if you're making it 3gens and still have hex active than that's on you for gen rushing to hard.

That you wouldn't touch it? So why not clarify you read it, but dont want to comment on it? The way you said it it made me think you didn't at all.
*You also did put words in my mouth, stating "It's not false. DS is still the best Anti tunnel a survivor has."* this was my point? How did I put this in your mouth again?
I am not a "baby player" I have played the game since 2016, so I'm well aware of the flaws the game currently has, and the long way this game has come since then. I don't expect you to care that I am red ranks on console and PC for killer, though I have not played survivor on console for some time now, so I will be green by the 13th of this month.
You sir strike me as ignorant and inconsiderate. All you came here to do was insult me instead of making fair points and being civil. Yet, I am the idiot right? What do I know?
By saying "it's not false", I never said it was. I just said you're an idiot for clearly forming opinions and counter arguements for things you've clearly not even read fully. Something you're continually doing.

@Mercury said:
"Survivor players aren't bots here for your pleasure.", well so are Killers they want to have fun, too. It sometimes comes down to this: All gens done when I've barely hooked all players, yet alone some barely reached struggle state. I could give two *Bleeps*, if they all escape, as long as we all had fun and I hooked everyone until they were on death hook. If the game was exciting and fun I don't give a single damn, whether anyone escaped. But since that is not a given and that 50/50 is reached not through fun but not being allowed to make any mistakes and constantly being on edge, as the power role mind you, the experience is not enjoyable.
I play swf mostly because I like having people to talk to and working as a team. Also, the people I play with I met through this game. On the other hand, I've adepted every character, most of my killers have breached teachable perk levels and I think I'm 15 or less achievements away from earning all of them.
This being said, I agree with you. I think killers need a huge balance buff, especially since they receive majority of the toxicity. I think it should be balanced to have 3 kills per match. Horror movies usually only leave a sole survivor, and usually survivors are on edge during all the scary parts. When I started playing as a survivor, I got hooked on the adrenaline rush from being scared of the killer. I started off always sneaking cause I didn't want to be found, barely ran until killers found me. Now, IDC who the killer is, what they are running out even if they find my scratch marks. I know I can loop them for a gen or 2 and even lose them if I must. I don't fear them.
To me, this is why the game is struggling. It shouldn't be easy to survive. It should be challenging, and it should feel rewarding but it's not. If killers were harder, survivors wouldn't be running around like vigilantes and popping gens super fast. If killers were harder, sneaking and hiding would be more mandatory this slowing the game down a little more. Killers should be feared and hard to beat, not laughed at and mocked.
IDC if I'm never the 1 out of 4, but I think 3ks a game should be average or to convert to something more, 8-10 hooks a match should be average.

I think you're the bigger Idiot for dismissing my point as "trolling".
It's not false. DS is still the best Anti tunnel a survivor has. Yes, you will have people who will perform 300 IQ plays with DS. And where DS is most annoying its EGC.
Whenever I play Billy or Nurse or Huntress I try to eat em as early as possible, then give chase to someone else and avoid a chase I may not be able to win quickly
You SHOULD not let DS get to the point where at EGC it's a free escape. I'd rather take my chances at EGC when they do not have DS.
No you're an idiot for obviously not reading people's whole post, you get stuck on one detail and form an opinion around that one detail. Even when you misinterpret a detail.
I didn't even say your point was false, yet you argued I did which is exactly my point.

It's a worse play to stand at the locker and wait.
If they go back to the gen just smack them and pick them up.
Honestly I guess it depends on the killer too. If you're playing Billy just eat the DS and chainsaw somewhere else.
Or if you're playing Nurse just blink to the survivor and smack them. The Stun is irrelevant for killers like them. Hell even Huntress wouldn't be affected much because she has hatchets she can throw. Though it's a LOS ability.
I recant my opinion you might be trolling....I think you're just an idiot

@Aura_babyy said:
Wait, you're contradicting yourself.
You're talking about Survivors being cocky and doing generators in front of you a minute after being unhooked... When DS lasts only 50 seconds max.
Idk man I think you should study what the perk is for and how it's application is before you make a nerf it post.
Also, comparing a nerf to this to the Ruin nerf is not a good argument. They are entirely 2 different perks with purposes that do not overlap with each other. Additionally, DS is the the best anti tunnel option a survivor has. Tunneling and camping is very common in this game, it happens about the same rate as Killers ran Ruin in a game.
Either go chase someone else or eat the DS so you dont have to worry about it later.
Wow, either you're trying to troll or youre just an idiot.
I'm pretty sure it was slang when he said a minute later. I'm not even touch the last half of your statement.
I don't tunnel and I find DS annoying. I've seen unhooked survs with DS do some BS stunts. Not to mention someone combining it with Deliverance, unhooking during EGC, being the last one out and me trying to get the kill have no options other than letting him crawl out.
Even slugging and leaving isn't always the best option. I think it should be limited more like Deliverance, only 1 use and done plus apply broken status for 60 seconds.

And I even seen a Jaws suggestion.

-
I say the ranking systems needs changed to make it harder to rank up as a survivor. It seems way to easy to pip up. There are matches were I'm like damn that was terrible and I still get a pip. It's harder to derank without DCing than it is to rank up, seriously.
-
Never thought of a Terminator killer, could be interesting.

Loving that 3 other people is showing some nurse love. Advice for the nurse, the more you play her the better you get. That blink is deadly!

He is right about camping not being a bannable offense. You and the other survivor did the best you could in a bad situation. Camping is a part of this game from the very beginning and it is not going away the best you can do is accept that and play the best you can.
Good players can accept it but new players won't get it. Would you rather accept it and chance losing new players in the process or....big or here, give incentive to the survivor being camped, and punish the killer camping by taking away blood points? What if they start losing points while they camp, that way they can see it and they get nothing out of it?

Usually, if a survivor shows that they're loop gods or have RNG on their side, I'll just abandon the chase and continue applying pressure on other generators depending on how many survivors are left. I usually build my perks around most killers to give me as much information as possible to minimize downtime and maximize generator pressure.
Sure, getting pallets out of the way is nice, but you have 3 other survivors that (if they're not rubbish) are working on generators while you're chasing a single person around the map like a merry-go-round. Best to pick off the weaker runners and not have to worry about gens popping behind your back left and right.
I think bloodlust is fine where it's at, but that's just my opinion.
I agree with this strategy but in red ranks there isn't just 1 survivor that's good at looping. In fact purple ranks are the same. And by the time you find that weaker runner, I guarantee 3-4 gens are done, maybe even some by the survivors you left alone.

Here is the deal. Id get over to steam and do some damage control or you wont have a game by next Christmas (OR THIS). Really. I mean I hope you have another game in the works, because people are MAD AF about this game crashes and the penalties occur.
Sure, my opinion matters little to nothing. Im a filthy casual player. But I'd really give a good look at this and your extremism on DC penalties. Nobody here runs ECC RAM, CRAY computer or a UDO/MO storage library (well I own a UDO library from plasmon). but WHO is going to have that level of redundancy?! NOBODY. Nobody is going to have an APC UPS, a dual load balancing High availability cluster running infiniband and iscsi triple redundant citrix fail overs with heartbeat, and a 20kw Catapillar diesel generator in their backyard with duel teamed nics and two separate ISPs just to play a 20 dollar game. N/O.
NOBODY once asked ANYONE why they rage-quit the game, let alone investigated game faults for the other half. Unreal engine is a PROJECT game engine. It is used as a PLATFORM for startup companies and low budget development because raw-coding stinks to do. (looking at u linux I and II). With that said. Yes, people that are gone from the match make it a bad time. But I learned to become "numb to it. Since the game is already very one-sided. The hatch closes, killers camp, slug, and run half a billion radar perks, while all of my exhaustion status perks, insta heal med kits, and short pallet loops are just going to solve that aspect.
My father said that honest truths hurt worse than casual lies...

This would only make survivors stronger right?
No, survivors are affected too. So you have to be David or Laurie to have both dead hard and decisive strike. No more dead hard, decisive strike, borrowed time and self heal build out.
I just think the ability to have all 4 slots filled with other characters perks really takes away the speciality of the character. At least with killers they have a power but survivors are completely unpredictable because of this. As a killer, I would like to be able to see a survivor and have a chance to guess what they will have. When you see what killer your playing against, you get an idea of how they are going to play but as a killer you don't get that at all. If anything this would buff killers more by preventing SWF running 4 blendettes with meta builds for survivors.
Mainly, it would completely mess up all meta builds without changing any perks. It would allow 25% predictably while still granting 75% guess work, and force people to experiment with new builds. Ultimately refreshing the game, bringing balance without messing up perks.
I want to see Survivors or killers and know that that they have 1 of their perks attached. Other wise, what is the point of using that character other than looks and cosmetics (minus killers because they always have unique powers)

-
Some people DC to derank so messing with their rank more wouldn't stop it but keeping them from playing that character until match is over would probably make minimal affect as well.
Nothing will stop people from committing suicide on their first hook. Quitters are quitters just like stupid is as stupid does.

It's not so much the game but other players. Killer gets top points and the only surviving survivor messages with hahaha I won. The can even have less points than a dead survivor and still try to say they won.
I think ranking should do more with the end point placement of a match.

Follow up with NPC for DC players. Just had a match where I almost depipped because 1 surv DC and another committed suicide on first hook. Why do the killers have to get punished for survivors no wanting to play?

You don't have to prevent all 5 gens from popping to win the game as killer. You choose which generators to defend. Generally there are 1 or 2 generators on each map which are a nightmare to defend, because they are very close to really strong loops, I'm happy to let these go early game, because it will be harder for the survivors to run to those loops later on. Generally, as soon as you spawn as killer, if you play enough, you will know by the map and gen layout which gens are worth defending and which aren't
I've mention that forcing gen locks is one of the best strata as a killer. Let them repair the furthest gens while you work on downing other survivors. Keep your patrol area down so your not wasting time looking. Try to keep the last 3 gens close together to maximize end game pressure

@Psypho_Diaz There was a paragraph, I didn't adress you with that, there was a guy before saying that and I joined him with that. The paragraph is about the OP topic, what to do on being tunneled. And beneath that, I also don't like people saying "only for the BP". It may be the reason why picking the perk, but the aura reading is definitely not useless. It can tell you where you can find the next chase without wasting time. Still an argument that it can be countered or outplayed, but that does not always happen. If people claim to ignore the aura reading, this is definitely questionable.
Thank you, that's I wanted. IDC if someone runs it, but when it's like legion or hillbilly then it's just annoying. The real annoying part is just the constant build with BBQ and hex ruin, you know something needs changed if more than half the killers need those 2 perks.

@LemeTheMeme WGLF actually has some kind of good gameplay bonus, since they changed it to require safe unhooks :P
@ABannedCat @Psypho_Diaz You can even bait the killer with BBQ. If you know the killer has it, run 5 seconds to one direction after the hook, then turn to the other direction :P Depends on the distance of course
But I'd also say "git gud". Not in a salty way. Take the challenge and try to do your best to loop the killer and let the team get the gens done as far as possible. The better you perform, the harder the killer can be punished. Try to learn from your mistakes, search for optimal routes while hanging on the hook already, where are pallets up, where are safe pallets, TL walls etc.
Well, if you get unhooked in front of the killer without BT, this apparently wouldn't help much. But with potatoes on team you will always have a bad time.
To your get good I say get literate. All I said was the blood point boost she be moved so red ranks don't run it and claim they only use it for the boost. If you don't need the Aura reading then you don't mind if the BPs gets put on a different perk.
Why don't we put a boost in DS so red rank survivors can claim they only run it for that?
-
Back to the basics was one I thought would be interesting, only thing that could be used is BPS offerings.
I also thought of the random killer and survivor perk and 2 killers 8 survivors one as well.
I love your list though, a lot of thought went into it. I hope the first one they do is 2 killers. The killers could even "hit each other", and cause I stun scene where they bicker or catch the hot and push back the other killer. My favorite one is if the huntress throws a hatchet that would hit the other killer but he catches it and throws it back. Not saying killers should be hitting each other but you know it's bound to happen in the chaos. Plus it would inventivise the killers to not run side by side.

The aura reading of BBQ&Chill isn't all that powerful, because of how many counters it has.
I hate this argument, I really do. There is 3 counters, 2 gameplay and 1 perk. Distortion is ok but not great. Hiding in lockers is also not that good, some maps don't have lockers everywhere (swamp and spirits/oni level). Also if the killer wanted to be extra, iron maiden with BBQ. Now you get exposed and still located. The only real good counter is being near the hook which is bad to have all 3 survivor do that. I don't think the perk needs adjusted with hope it works but the BPS boost could be moved to another perk.
BBQ is a training wheel perk to begin with yet all the red ranks use it and claim they only use it for the boost, which is ludicrous. I've never seen someone run BBQ and not b-line to the nearest survivor they see.

Now imagine them even longer xD
Solo or with Friends i get a survivor lobby in about 10 minutes
As Killer i get a lobby within seconds.
That's because more people rather play survivor than killer. You get so much harrasement as a killer, and only limited harrasement as a survivor. Play 4 man swf and there isn't any, you just get to multiple the harrasement of the killer.
-
I feel you, Ive made posts on Reddit about this very same thing and I get toxic messages on there, to even add a couple more:
Walk away from the game, or becoming afk, harassing messages.
Running a low level killer first time, adept build, as a low rank gets harassing messages.
Make balance or rework suggestions, harassing messages.
Literally, just playing as a killer gets you nothing but harrasement. If/when this game dies down, I will blame toxic survivors.
