The 60 second window is too large. That’s a huge amount of time in DBD. And when all 4 survivors run it?! Sheesh.
Entering a locker should disable DS entirely (if it happens to be active at the time)
Once again it’s players finding an exploitative use out of a mechanic that is not intended.
It isn't a long time but the problem is just that survivors just think of DS as 60 seconds of invincibility an do stupid things like rush basement unhooks.
There needs to be some restrictions on what you can do while ds is active. Many have suggested of ds being deactivated once another survivor is hooked but then the killer could just slug the next person they chase and only hook them once the other survivor was unhooked.
Something better (imo) would be that the survivor loses decisive strike once they performs any altruistic action. If a survivor has time to unhook another, that means they are not being tunneled and should not need the protection of ds.

Actually you used to be able to use them in dying state. It was changed some time back.
I used to be able to escape with key while dying.
Or maybe those were just bugs? Hahhaha! But I definitely used to be able to.
MegaWaffle already corrected me but thanks anyway!

Interesting thought. may be op
I was thinking that It would also block the killer so if they were inside they could get a pretty easy chase but would have to wait for the block to come down or if they were outside they could get there while the survivor were trapped.

No it use to be a thing but it was changed a long time ago.
Ah, didn't know that. Must've been a while ago before I even started. Thanks for the correction.

We counter doctors and nurses without perks reliably now? Hrmm.
Also, it's only a coin flip if you lack the required materials for a mindgame.
You can't mindgame what you can't see. Even against Nurse you can see in which direction she can blink and how long she has charged her blink for. Against Spirit you might just be able to make out her footsteps but most of the time not due to the loud chase music.

Totems aren’t the main objective. You normally only cleanse totems if there are already a hex on em. You shouldn’t have to go out of your way of the MAIN objective just to do a totem.
That's right, escaping is your main objective. Not generators nor totems. Both just help you achieve that main objective.
-
DS is already an S tier perk and in no need of further buffs. If anything it could get some minor tweaks but I assume you'd prefer it wouldn't so let's not argue any further.
-
Deep wound is supposed to waste time (to my understanding) and it does it very poorly.
Having the timer go down if the survivor is doing something might fix that since that way survivors can't just keep working on a generator while in TR.
-
Her power isn't a mindgame, it's a coinflip that's heavily favored for The Spirit. You also can't reliably counter her without perks (like you can every other killer in the game).
Also prayer beads.
-
No. It has always worked like this.
-
Should be as the killer is no longer the host. Though there might be a time limit before everyone is kicked in order keep servers available.
-
Just when I thought NMCKE couldn't think of more great ideas he strikes again. :)
Totally for this btw (if you couldn't already tell).
-
Iirc, that chest isn't counted into the base amount of chests in that map (normally 3 chests spawn in a trial) so you actually get 4 chests in total at default.
And just like a @ABannedCat said, it's an incentive to complete that generator. I wish BHVR would make more "reactive" maps, where parts of the map can be opened/closed by generators or maybe even other means.
-
I'm just thinking out loud here... What if cruel limits trapped the survivors into the tile where the generator was completed for x amount of time (or possibly in a circle with a set diameter). The problem is that it probably couldn't be done in a neat way (I was thinking like Bloodwarden closes exit gates but could look a bit weird).
-
I would like to see some iteration of a loadout system implemented. It isn't high on my list though as I usually pick my perks before even queuing up for a game.

The issue is that this doesn't solve the problem of Survivors who are good enough to just power through Ruin.
It still slows down gen progress. Even if survivors hit all great skillchecks (which most don't) the perk will still be worth using.
I do want something to happen for Ruin. It isn't a fun perk to use or go against. It's mostly rng based. It ruins games for low ranked people and most important of all, it removes any possibility that the base length of a match is going to be altered. It isn't healthy for the game.
-
I'm still looking forward to dedicated servers. If other games can perfect it (to some extent) then why not DbD?
I just hope they wait for the right time. I don't want BHVR to rush them and if need be they can push it over to 2020 if you ask me.
-
Even if a game is casual it doesn't mean players can't be better or worse at it.
-
I wouldn't want to put pressure on the shoulders of trusted members.
I'd rather keep them as positive members of the community that contribute to discussions in a civilized manner.

Unfun doesn't mean broken. There are many ways to counter Spirit, some involve changing your build. If you don't want to counter her then ok just don't get mad when she wins
Most killers (if not all) have some counters that don't require a perk. Why should Spirit be the exception? Most of Spirits "counters" rarely work because she can counter all of them by just listening where the survivor is. As long as she can hear you, she knows where you are.

A wise man once said: I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
For real though, if you guys want it, it's totally possible. We've been turning a lot of the in-game cosmetics into actual clothing that you can wear on your actual human body. If there's enough demand for it, I'm sure we could figure something out.
Wait... Human body!?

You can't have a lethal power and keep fast window and pallet vaulting. It's one or the other.

I wouldn't say all people because that wouldn't be fair to the people who complain for a valid reason.
Survivors often complain because she comes out of nowhere and downs you for little to no skill at all. However, killers say she does take skill because you have to predict the survivors' movement — which isn't always as clear as it may seem to survivors.
Now, in my opinion, to be as unbiased as possible, I agree with both sides to an extent. There are times where you get rewarded for doing absolutely nothing is kinda cheap, but at the same time, from my Spirit experience, she does take an insane amount of skill to perform crazy hits with her power.
Overall, she's fine in my opinion, the only thing that's just unfair is Prayer Bracelet. :)
I get where you're coming from but most of that "skill" is just good headphones. After you hear a survivor somewhere around you just come out of phase and even if they're not near enough for a hit it's not a big deal as you're still probably close enough to get a hit within 5 seconds.
If she had some sort of penalty for missing a phase hit (like nurse after blinking), it would be a lot more fair as then you couldn't just come out of phase whenever you feel like it.

It's the fact her power is incredibly easy too counter, especially against SWF. Most of the time during a chase survivors will activate all the traps, so you have too spend more time placing traps then using them. I simply find hag incredibly overrated. her power is nice, but it's simply too hard countered for her too be a top tier.
Her power isn't hard countered by anything. Her power is one of the hardest to counter in fact since you can't just disable traps unless you're specifically using a flashlight. Crouching is only a soft counter as the traps are still there for later use and flashlights still give a notification as to which trap was destroyed. She is incredibly strong if you have a good trapping strategy. Rarely do I walk away from a Hag game with less than a 3k (could probably be 4 if I cared to slug for it).
I can agree that Freddy is up there though with Hag, Spirit, Billy and Nurse.

It was on the September dev blog. It's just a test and only on PC.

Hag is not a top tier killer. If her power weren't so hard countered by flashlights, or by simply crouching, then she would be a monster. personally I find the top 4 too be Nurse, Spirit, Billy, and Freddy. New Freddy is just a monster at red ranks, especially with slow gen builds.
Survivors don't always have flashlights and flashlights only last for so long before you can't use them anymore. You also can't crouch around the map (unless you're using urban evasion) to avoid traps, you'll just be wasting time. You also can't crouch around during a chase to avoid traps.
Hag's potential lies on trap placement. If you only trap pallets (like most players do from my experience versing Hag) you won't have much success outside of chases.

When the end game changes got made yes I observed being able to slam the hatch on a survivor DURING their animation. However, recently I have noticed in the two scenarios described there appears to be a slight change to it all that benefits the survivor. Other people claim to experience this as well.
Now about it being a priority. The question is whether or not this DID get altered recently in a patch. That would mean they did make it a priority.
If it has only happened this week it might be because of the dedicated server test currently on PC live servers.

@ASurvkillivorer said:

It matters if its intended or not. Encouraging survivors to hang around on the hatch is just beyond dumb. Seeing as how the change was made entirely to end hatch standoffs in the first place. This worked exactly as it should when the change was first made. There shouldn't be some new dumb advantage given to the survivor just for being in the general area of the hatch when you find it. They already have the advantage in that situation if they are healthy. They didn't need more.
"obviously" So many people feel confident making posts without actually reading. So my animation getting interrupted is the survivor "obviously" getting there first? Its nothing like the exit gate. Literally nothing like the exit gate. You could never grab people through the exit gate or slam the gate shut on survivors. You could also surely never slam the exit gate shut on a survivor that cancels you out and goes through it anyways.
FTR I hate the hatch as a survivor too. Good portion of solo survivor matches = this. OH! ONE person has died against this really mediocre killer. Lets sneakity sneak sneak for the rest of the match to wait for the hatch when we could easily all escape. But now the tables are turned because 1-2 survivors are now trying because 1 of it not 2 of the remaining survivors just want to go to the hatch. 1-2 survivors with less than 3 gens left VS mediocre killer equal pretty out pretty favorable to that killer if he happens upon any of us. I consider those survivors nearly part of the killers team.
Your original post didn't mention anything about your animation getting cancelled. In fact you said that you as a killer are interrupting the survivors animation of jumping in (this probably happens because you are the host of the match so your inputs take priority over the survivors so if both of you interact with the hatch at the same time you'll always have the advantage).
Of course it allows for some toxicity but I wouldn't place it high on the priority list of things that need to be changed as you can just hit them and move on.
-
This doesn't matter. They've obviously made it to the hatch before you so they could've entered it before you arrived. Just hit them and they'll leave. It's the same thing as someone waiting at the exit gate for you to hit them.

Weaker or harder ? Means you want devs to BUFF OR NERF her, it's totally contradictory. Maybe you could give some arguments to deal with? Or explain in more detail what's wrong with her ?
Spirit gameplay is very oriented about prediction of survivor moves and mindgame so yes you need skills to play her efficiently.
Harder=/=better. Harder as in harder to play, not better.

@Raptorrotas said:
Devs feared survivor backlash and ineptitude so they nerfed her RBT.
If the traps werent mreant to kill , why can they?
So survivors have a reason to take it off. It's meant to waste their time and slowdown the game.
Pig is above average as a killer. Her dash can be used at loops and RBTs slowdown the game.
-
DS is already an S tier perk. Doesn't need any buffs.
-
Honestly, there are three tiers. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Hillbilly at the top. Leatherface and Legion at the bottom and everyone else in the middle.
-
I'd rather not bring back exclusives. It's disappointing already that I will never be able to earn some skins just because I didn't play the game back then.

It's one of the examples we gave. Right now, it just increases range without increasing charge time. This means you can go, "Oops, I accidentally touched the blink button and ended up in a different timezone." The reason why this becomes a problem is because it greatly reduces the window of time the survivor has to run away and break line of sight, allowing the Nurse to catch back up much quicker, reducing the amount of counterplay.
After the change, the charge time is going to be increased as well. This means that you can still go super far, but you're going to have to spend the time charging your blink. This way, you keep the counterplay, but you still have the utility of being able to blink around the map quickly.
Short version: It's not so much the range that's an issue. The further you blink, the more time the survivor has to react and the lower your chances of actually hitting them. The bigger issue was being able to charge a blink way faster than you could without the omegablink add-ons.
The silver lining: It won't completely destroy your muscle memory.
Is there any info on additional blink add-ons yet?

Of course there no reason for it.
There's also no reason to buff Nurse.
Which is my concern with these changes.
It isn't a buff. If players start using plaid flannel they'll have one less add-on spot for something else. Nurses who also learn to play with plaid flannel will have a hard time playing without it meaning there will be less nurses using actually good add-ons (if there are any left after the rework).
-
@Mc_Harty said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/728829#Comment_728829
They gave her an undo button that's not even one of her ultra rare add-ons and made blinks easier to use for new players by making the indicator a common.
You don't buff the obvious strongest character in the game without some nerfs to compensate for her new strengths. That much should be clear.
There was no reason for Plaid Flannel to be very rare. It's training wheels that you only unlock after you're already good at nurse and don't need it. Only bad Nurse players are gonna use it and even then it won't make them good. Doctor has the same thing for his power as well and it doesn't seem to be a problem.
If you're already good at nurse you're not getting a buff. It just makes it slightly easier to get a grip on her blinks.
-
Not sure if my answer would fir QOL update. I want ruin to get nerfed so devs can extend the base time of the game instead of having killers play with 3 perks and have ruin in most cases. I don't like to use ruin cause it makes my victories feel hollow.
-
@Mc_Harty said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/728784#Comment_728784
Nerf her basekit. According to the developer update, your dev team just basically gave her an 'undo' blink.
Nurse is one of the few killers in this game that DID NOT need a buff.
The add-on probably won't change much and will rarely be useful during the match. You also need a blink charge for it so even less useful.

I’m a survivor main, spirit isn’t op.
She also isn't really fun to go against. Counterplay is very difficult because you get no feedback if it works or doesn't until it's too late. It is also impossible to escape her if you're injured and without iron will.
She could use a few tweaks imo. She isn't terribly difficult to play and yields very good results from little input.

At that point nothing should happen to OoO. It's whole purpose is to be a powerful survival ability that comes with a dear price. Nerfing it directly after an indirect nerf through the undetectable status would be Overkill.
The drawback isn't that bad if I'm gonna be honest. Most survivors don't care if the killer can see them. If the perk had an actual drawback maybe it wouldn't need to be changed.

There isn't a skillcheck size that would make this balanced. Not even the size of an overcharge skillcheck under the effects of unnerving presence.

I'd want add-ons to be on one page as there are just a bit over 1 page but not nearly enough to fill 2 pages.
