You're ignoring the cost to the other survivors who didn't take CoH - which is zero. If one person brings CoH, all 4 survivors get:

No need to bring a medkit, take a good toolbox instead.

No need to take any healing perks, just self-care in the boon area for 21 seconds (still 11 seconds shorter than the perk even after the recent "nerf")

For a single perk on a single survivor to grant still such massive healing time reduction for altruistic & medkit healing plus quicker full self-care for 4 survivors for the cost of one perk on one survivor and 14 seconds to set it up, CoH is the biggest bargain and force multiplier in DbD by far, especially when you consider how brokenly good it is on a multi-level map.

With Bond and After care you wouldn't even need a medkit either and it would even give you more chance to use Prove thyself very effectively not to mention its a free information perk which is extremely good in SoloQ and think about how many times would you have to bless a totem just for the killer to snuff it in 1 second?

Do you think you could bring COH with you on the other side of the map? you think you could heal for 21 seconds if your team mate is already on death hook? Can you even use COH to locate both survivor and killer? The versatility of Bond and Aftercare is better than COH.

  • In Low to Mid MMR where both survivors and killers skills are so bad, tunneling and proxy camping is a problem, but in High MMR where good survivors and SWF exists its justified.

The problem is the SoloQs that are only playing casually suffers from the consequence as they're practically easy 4ks for the killer who capitalizes against injured survivors since its extremely advantageous to watch em all unhook and chase the unhooked, knowing that everyone of them are either average in looping or aren't using meta perks to gain MMR.

You can get a kill as early as 3 minutes and no one is there to stop you.

  • You know people could just use We'll make it, Bond, Aftercare, Empathic Connection for the 8 -16 seconds healing right? It's faster, safer and hassle free from ever needing to plant a boon.

you could both heal each other for 16-32 seconds or would you rather plant a boon and do it for 35-57 seconds?

More time you're on a gen the better, so just equip Bond or Aftercare it will do you good in the long run instead running around with useless "5th perk".

    Admit it COH is dead.

  • To be fair that Match that he was on actually has a mixed bags of newbies and pros, so its most likely that he played badly and lost to a sub 1000 hour survivors if we estimate the amount of experience those survivors have.

I know worst survivors when i see their perks and how they play and that's a balance and mixed batch, 2k is practically in the bag and 4k is highly possible even if i played trapper in that game.

  • Billy was my first killer to play as and he was a buggy mess don't main him too much, I've won a game once against a SWF cause i gained Speedhax in the middle of the match, and it was GLORIOUS i started to run around the whole match in the same speed as the chainsaw run. It was Hilarious and Addictive, Survivors accused me of cheating even though it was DBD's buggy codes that did it. lol

The not so good one that I've encountered is when i downed and hooked 3 survivors all at once but I hit a rock right after all of a sudden it slowed me down like heck, I can't move and i was slowly drifting away, like my character was being dragged very slowly, and it made me furious like I was so close to winning the game and getting a 4k then it happened, I was going to accuse the other team of hacking but when i got to the chat box they accused me of wallhacking, and I was like how am i wallhacking you were all predictable and running straight into my path, and I was the one who's been cheated cause somehow my character has been disabled for the remainder of the match.

TLDR: Billy is a buggy mess don't get too attached.

  • With the amount of sweaty tryhard in my server who mains nurse, you'll get use to it.

Sadly Nurse mains in my server lacks creativity and enthusiasm to even play the game, like "You're using busted perks and add-ons but still won't stop proxy camping the hook for 5 seconds!?" that's my expression whenever I see a nurse mains who uses Make your choice and Floods of rage right now.

Someone nerf Nurse so I won't have to face the onslaught of lazy tryhard Nurse mains in my SBMM.

  • Thanks for your work as always.

"high mmr" is certainly not a good factor as, well, no one knows if they are on high mmr.

Yeah but you'll know it when you get there full add on slots, map offerings, meta perks, body blocking bonanza, gen rush, flashlight everywhere, subtle cheaters you won't ever catch even with bloodlust on, just swf things.

  • Its balanced, do bones, then do it 5 more times.

I'm saying equally skilled green sadako should have a chance against swf full-meta squad with four medkit, which really isn't the case.

Yeah 16 meta perks is hardly easy but nothing like a little bit of proxy camping and tunneling couldn't handle as long as its not 4 brand new parts.

I played legion and trapper with only brown to yellow add on in high mmr don't tell me its not possible. 4ks are hard 2ks are easy.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2888399#Comment_2888399

So you are saying green killers should be able to be tie with green survivors, which really isn't in sadako's case.

Green? What so green about Brand new part? and don't forget about skill this game is built on skill level not add ons alone

We aren't talking about survivors with addons versus killers without addons. I...don't understand why you've shifted the goalposts to this.

But okay - let's take addons out of the equation.

An Artist queues up against an SWF. Nobody is using addons. Everyone is using meta perks. Eyrie. Skill levels are about equivalent - high intermediate.

Now, a Trapper queues up against the SWF. Similar quality of builds. Same map.

Which killer has the easier time, again assuming equal skill levels?

    Why?

What are you talking about? I'm here to argue about 4 iri addons and you're here bringing up artist and using whataboutism. Dude stick to the discussion.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2888385#Comment_2888385

When you shift the goalposts, you concede the argument.

    But okay:

    • Killers should not be balanced around the expectation of bringing an addon.
    • What addons should a Freddy bring to even things up? Or even Sadako for that matter?
    • You can't run iris or URs every game and having mandatory browns...I thought we got past this years ago?

Neither does suvivors i can't bring purple flashlight with me everygame. Bring their strongest add-ons if you want to win don't tell me you expect yourself to win without sacrificing the same amount as they did. 4 people who paid extra vs 1 person who just wants to be entitled to a win.

  • Its useless as fuk, stop spamming it i can't find the NOED, Seriously, its faster to just use Bond or Aftercare atleast you'll be healed in 16 seconds without the need for 14 seconds boon and 21 seconds healing.

It makes survivors extremely predictable and not doing gens. Why even look for a totem if its gets snuff for 1 second.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2888339#Comment_2888339

    No.

What people want is for the ridiculously large delta between 'c' and 'a' tier killers to be closed somewhat.

Then bring an addon, its like saying a perkless killer should win against SWF with 4 dead hards.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2888339#Comment_2888339

But then nurse and blight is only tied to iri addon survivors in term of strength, according to you killers should be able to defeat four iri survivors with iri addons, and it means they are the balance standard.

every killers has to be competitive enough to defeat best survivors with best loadout, as long as killer bring same tier items.

Yes and No it all boils down to skill with equally skilled killer and survivor it all boils down to perks and add ons.

and Yes even Survivor should still have a fighting chance against Nurse with 3 blinks but its not humanely possible cause Nurse with 3 blinks is broken as hell.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2888193#Comment_2888193

    Nope! :)

It means that there are vanishingly few people at that level of experience. What'll generally happen is that, even if there are 2 survivors at that MMR, the other two will be have to be pulled from lower MMRs, creating a weak link in the team.

Other games have dealt with this issue by having 'leagues', and you will never be matched with anyone more than 1 league above you or below you, regardless of MMR.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2888196#Comment_2888196

    Are they?

Then why do SS tier Nurse and Blight have some of the most powerful addons in the game, while Hillbilly and Freddy have some of the worst?

This is ridiculous, does everyone really want a basekit c-tier killer to dominate against 4 brand newnparts? Cause there is a reason iri add ons exist and its not just for show. Its like saying its so hard to escape myers cause he has infinite tier 3 and instant mori, yeah that's the point. Why shouldn't iridiscent add ons make it easier for the opponent to win.

Nurse is broken OP from the start not to mention an iri add on that gives her 3 blinks, blight is broken due to two of his addons, take it away from him and he's balanced A tier.

  • is it tomorrow? I didn't check for when. thanks

Hag is already a good killer

Not gonna lie, I lost my 4k slug once to a pallet pre-dropper, it was the last player and he pre dropped everything like its hot potato. but i still got my 2k.

  • Don't give them too much ideas they might not be able to fix the game by 2077 and we'll be here stuck with the same SBMM.

  • what's the point we already got three and if you're sacrificing one cosmetic slot for a cause isn't that more commendable than having 3 unnecessary ones?

  • The fuk was that long a&& post?

yeah they should start buffing weak killers, it just starts becoming stale as the meta requires you to tunnel and camp against SWF and be as toxic as possible every game, this isn't going to end well for DBD's health

  • what build were you using? Aura reading perks are OP on plague, it gives her map control which makes you waste less time and lets you capitalize on survivors mistakes, try using Otz pentimento retribution build or Floods of rage build.

    in Ouch. Comment by Plsfix369
  • *grabs popcorn then utters "Git Gud" jk i like playing against Spirit, keep it up maybe one day she'll return back to being borderline OP.

  • I like playing against blight and Spirit, you can still win a loop just by dropping a pallet in the right time. but with nurse there's no such thing as winning only survivng long enough that your team doesn't get snowballed easily.

  • Please, please do, I feel like i have tunnel vision whenever i play Hag, have you ever played as a gnome wearing binoculars who's always crouching in tall grass?

  • I main Plague, Plague doesn't need a buff, Scourge hook Floods of rage or Otz' pentimento & retribution build are strong enough to win against most swf.

  • It should be 60 seconds i agree, sometimes you have to chase other survivors off the hook before you can pop the gen.

It's better to have the extra time for you to pressure the unhooker and force the gen rushers to unhook so it stops gens from finishing while you get to the gen itself,

if you don't force the healthy gen rushers to unhook the gen will be finish before you get there and that 45 seconds will do you no good.

  • I like to play against spirit more than i do for the nurse, cause with spirit you can still both mind game each other to win a loop, meanwhile you can't really dodge a second blink or mid range blink from a good nurse since its so fast even latency couldn't keep up with the split second turns.

Playing against Nurse isn't really a good judge of skill cause it all falls down to latency and what add ons the nurse is using that day. if the nurse is using the broken add ons don't expect to win the match at all.

  • I just voted fo balanced landing cause i use both in the same build, you wouldn't believe how many killers i've fooled using both balanced land and dead hard in the same match lol. i use it with vigil so it only takes 30 seconds to recover my exhaustion.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Everyone here talking about DH and SB, meanwhile I'm having the time of my life, knowing people already forgot Overcome exists

if only it wasn't an exhaustion perk then it would have been huge lol

  • lol what timezone? i play dbd both in the morning and evening, It get hard I know but unless your playing weak killers like me 2k is always possible with a little bit of tunneling and proxy camping.

My first bought killer was hag and it wasn't the most fun starters in DBD but here i am now, i practically farmed in high mmr with hag and stayed there for a long time until i switched to survivor after i got bored playing killer all the time.

Best matches i got with hag are sudden 4k basement/exit gate against SWF and some NOED comebacks, I learned how to make layers of trap and how to predict survivors.

  • @autocorrect said:

Is it just me or did the killers get slower? I’m Iridescent 3 and have been playing all day so the groups ranks have been all over the place. I’m going against bronze and silvers and loosing drastically. It’s hard to catch up to them and when hit they literally fly across the map. What happened?

Do higher ranks make your character slower? I’ve played with different killers and literally the same result. Playing for a totally of 8 hours and I haven’t had a full team sacrificed maybe two at max.

Subtle hackers, you face them a lot in high mmr, they're not something you see in low to mid mmr unless they're bad, it only takes an average survivor with hacks to not be sheety in game.

i still get annoyed a lot of times cause they can run end to end in Mother's dwelling from just a single hit and you won't catch them until 5 minutes after.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2883798#Comment_2883798

Sprint burst is better in maybe two, very narrow situations:

    (1) You hear the heartbeat, and instantly run 100% in the other direction.

    (2) You are oblivious and a killer is two meters from you when you first see them. Note that this doesn't apply to Wraith, who is still faster than you in cloak and will just cancel the uncloak and catch up in 3 seconds.

Outside of that, DH is better by a country mile. You won't run EXACTLY the right direction "away" 75%+ of the time (for example, a corner gen- if they are coming from the center they will see map border runs and cut you off). And it takes skill to keep up for when you need it, unlike DH.

Both are wrong though, What every survivor doesn't understand is DH fails where SB doesn't

You could use sprint burst to bait a hit and get to a safe location far from the gens your team is doing saving some time to finish your gen.

You can do gens everywhere without risking dying in a dead zone and far from where your teammates can unhook you,

You can save gens from PGTW and PR if you're far away enough from white hooks and gen in progress.

You can cover a lot of distance which is enormous if you're trying to unhook or take protection hits.

Killers will take a lot more time to get a down and snowball if you get to a safe loop far away from any gens.

SB can break LOS without the need for Iron will which is enormous against Nurse and Spirit players.

Wraith and Oni wouldn't be able to get a free hit and will suffer in huge maps with good loops.

The list goes on but its all the same. It's easier to use and no need to always be injured and with vigil I can use it ever 30 second.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2883987#Comment_2883987

    Oof. Okay...

    • SB is absolutely not stronger than DH, a few extreme exceptions excepted (Myers would be one). DH, when used properly amounts to an extra health state, while SB actually has some counterplay and decision making. DH is 'win button go brrrr'. The simple fact that I have to play anticipating DH at all times says a lot about the perk.
    • I'm not sure which 4 killer perks you are seeing every game, aside from BBQ which is mostly there as a BP booster that also happens to be an okay info perk (seriously the second they make the BP gain baseline/fix the grind, you'll see much less BBQ). I don't think the killer meta has been as varied as it is now, with multiple different viable builds seeing play at high MMR. Survivor...yeah.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2884000#Comment_2884000

No, it definitely changed the meta. Combine CoH with medkits and you can heal as a duo essentially mid chase. Medkits run out - but a well sited CoH can cover most of the map and lasts all game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2884022#Comment_2884022

BT and Decisive I'm totally fine with (aside from aggressive DS use with lockers). These all serve an essential part in the meta.

CoH is an abomination, and should never have been left alone for as long as it did.

DH has always been a pain, and the fact that the fix amounted to a buff to likely the most prolific survivor perk at high MMRs is ridiculous.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2883970#Comment_2883970

CoH should be fine post nerf. It's still whackadooly strong, but it won't be as oppressive as it is now.

DH...no idea what they can do to it. It's just such a problem perk. The issue is that it's nerf is going to be the biggest survivor meta change we've seen in years. And that isn't going to sit easy with a lot of people who rely on it now.

you forgot DH fails most of the time and SB doesn't, It allows you to play boldly as you can do gens in a very dangerous place yet run 50 miles away from a killer into a safe loop far away from the gen in progress, if survivors act like flies you wouldn't get a single hit in and they'll be able to do gens without risking anything.

Not to mention it can act like dead hard and deny killers from using their abilities in the first second of the chase ie, Nurse's blink, Plague's Corrupted Purge, Blight Rush. it's a great LOS breaker and can also do 360 with it.

its so easy to use and can be used while healthy and with vigil you can use it every 30 seconds.

  • @BuffTrickster said:

My Trickster blades say hi to your Sprint Burst.

Never had an issue injuring or downing a survivor that runs off with SB. By the time they’ve started to run I’ve already put 3 or 4 into them, then by the time they’re stuck in a vault action or continuing to go around a wall, corner, I’ve hit all 6. I have 44 blades, but generally 52 because I enjoy Bloody Boa.

DH would let survivors become invincible to that one last blade I needed, when I had just one or two left, or give them distance to a safe loop in time (with invincibility) that will either extend chase long enough for me to lose all pressure in the game and generally force me into M1.

You must be in low to mid mmr, i never get downed by trickster blades when i'm using SB, but DH sucks against trickster.

SB helps me run off to tall loops and gives me the first action to avoid you before you could throw anything, DH just makes me dodge one blade out of 44.

  • As a Weak Killer like Trapper and Legion? No way, once i see vulnerabilities in their i kick them out of the game quick. I don't face camp but I do proxy camp and slug a lot.

  • to ruin any survivor's day is to just proxy camp hooks lol

  • It's boring to just play on a single side, i main both killers and survivors, and dbd isn't just about one side either its 2 games in one.

  • It's practically my go to Anti-Nurse build, where i can just lose the Nurse in the first 20 seconds of the chase.

  • Killers shouldn't be able to slug survivors for 4 minutes. there should be a way to prevent "toxic slugging" not just a penalty. It's an abusable mechanic specially with hackers.

  • Just give SoloQ a way to Communicate then Buff Killer, I play both but SoloQ is incapable of communcation and it becomes a source of frustration while Killers are also having a hard time trying to keep up with SWF and it just makes high mmr game frustrating,

Both problems are actually interconnected why not just buff both..

  • The creeper from jeepers creeper,

  • If the killer remains within 16 meters of a hooked survivor for a total of 30 seconds, unhooking won't be interrupted and both unhooker and unhooked survivor will be protected by endurance.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2882499#Comment_2882499

The game sucks at rewarding points, that's known. For the longest time players who kept the killer busy in a chase didn't get rewarded for it, either. They're often still barely rewarded for it. The second stage of being on the hook does reward points, so at least there's that.

Killers lose points for things out of their control, too. That's a problem with this game. RNG and other players have way too much influence on your own points. As survivor, it often feels like my teammates have a bigger impact on my points than I do it feels. It's extremely frustrating.

The reward system in this game needs a rework. A lot of things in this game need a rework. Killers are not required to let survivors get off the hook. Nowhere is that said to be required of the killer. If a killer lets the survivor off the hook, they're playing nice. If survivors were meant to be guaranteed three chances, then the game would be designed differently. If the game wants killers to not camp, it needs to be designed differently. The game gives the killer the option of keeping someone on the hook until they're dead, so some killers take that option.

Camping the hook is actually the most intuitive way to play the game. Most times in life, you do one task, you complete that task, you move on to the next task. Spreading your attention between all four survivors and pressuring gens, that's not intuitive, and the game certainly doesn't teach killers to do it. So again, if killers aren't allowed to camp, the game's design has to be changed.

you haven't seen otz play do you? lol he doesn't need to camp all the time, not in the first hook and he doesn't push it to death hook.

Killers just want to camp kill cause they're bad and its easier to kill a person who couldn't fight back .

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 10
