at least his main power does something with it

She's cool. But man trying to actually snipe with her is near impossible. I just don't get it. I set my snipes up and it's just to easy for the survivors to avoid it.
And then the other issue is presetting at a loop or wall and then you have to guess when they run through that small window of vulnerability...
In all my matches with her I just can't seem to snipe. Seems to easy to avoid. Feels like its not worth it. Takes to much time to pull off and moat survivors just run away from the tile.
for sniping you should use the addon that extends the duration of crows debuff and the one that decreases your cooldown when you launch the crow
survivors can see where you are aiming with the crows
loop placement is honestly fairly simple, you can't really mess up much with it, but you can time the launch poorly, so that the survivor runs into the hitbox before launch and only gets the debuff
-
In my opinion he is not even a B tier. After the green box addon nerfs he kinda went from good to trash tier.
Also his main power is garbage in 90% of the scenarios, it was always just the box and that got gutted.

I am not referring to grabs or pallet hits. I played killer tonight using a mobile hotspot with a ping of 270-335 ms, and none of my hits were invalidated. I noticed that if I swung near a vault, even when the Survivor had successfully cleared it on MY screen that the hit still prevailed. I'm guessing the threshold is highly generous, which is why the server never rejected my hits.
Vaults have no validation, but for example deadhard, it does not matter what ping you have, you will always be validated and your hit and powers will be eaten.

What killed her for you?
I did still like playing her, but she felt weird as survivors were sometimes very easily avoiding me + iron will, but then when I played against her... oh boy, you can literary tell where she is 100% of the times and if you have iron will she is legit powerless

So you dropped her right after the nerf and didn’t even give her a chance? Ok, that’s fine, us loyal Spirits don’t claim people like you anyway.
I said soon after...

Well you have to rely on OP add ons if you’re simply not good with her. I’m sorry to say that but what else am I supposed to tell you?
it's not about being good spirit, she is just basic loopable m1 killer with map pressure, that's like saying "you just have to be good with trapper ,else you will have to rely on op addons"
if a survivor is semi-decent, you stand no chance, especially if the survivor has iron will
lastly I'm not talking about me playing her, I dropped her soon after the nerf, but not a single spirit I played against stood any chance vs me or my team unless she had mother daughters ring that gave her some advantage with movement speed, so that I have less time to react to her, or the survivor she is chasing is either bad looper or listening to music during gameplay
-
It has been said multiple times, she is just complete trash, that has to rely on op addons to perform well and even then you will get destroyed because there is no way to counter Iron WIll.
-
@Kazim said:
It should be able to be used only once each time you are injured, it only recovers when you are healed
yeah that would not be good idea with the current healing possibilities, you could chase people forever and never be able to down with some killers

• 40 second cooldown instead of token system
• Hooking a survivor will immediately end any current cooldown
• Lunge range reverted back to the original +100% on PTB
• Press (some button) to make the next lunge within 3? seconds become a super-lunge and put the perk on cooldown after the super-lunge animation is finished regardless of hit or miss
tldr; Giving killer more agency over when the perk is usable by not making it based off gens (something out of their control and requires losing generators) and being able to decide when to use it. Range reverted to original because it made no sense for it to be reduced when it came to live. Even with these changes it still wouldn’t be meta as it offers no gen regression, but it would make it an actually good perk otherwise.
it would be useless anyway honestly, dead hard will still eat the perk so it will basically do nothing
at best u can force a pallet sooner, which anyway resets the loop and you will have to deal with looping for another 30 seconds

"I don't understand the other reasons, so I'm going to ignore them and pretend they aren't even there and complain about one thing and base all my nerf arguments on it"
I did not ignore the other reasons, I thought about them and found them not being valid. If their reasons really were valid, they would have nerfed plenty of other survivor stuff based on the same exact reasons, but they didn't. If you think their reasons are valid then you are a hypocrite, just like them, as they nerf things every single patch based on usability percentage.
-
@Seanzu said:
they've stated multiple times (as have 100's of forum members) that this is only ONE of the reasons it changed, why are killers so ignorant of that fact?
because the other reasons are not valid and make no sense

I may love the Artist and the buffed DMS but her with that perk is basically free map pressure while proxy camping the hook. I don’t see how that isn’t worthy of complaints.
It's no different to a deadhard... absolutely undeserved impact with barely any skill required.
-
Isn't this just like deadhard? You basically progress the game as a survivor and killer punishes you for it without any drawbacks or skill. Well at least you gotta get a down.

This happened a while ago, actually- I think with the release of Artist.
then I just missed it completely the last time I guess, whatever, good that it has been resolved, blessing a totem was always insanely effective with DS up

5.4.0 actually made that change, it was regarded as a bug instead of a nerf which is why not many people noticed it. I only noticed it when I looked at the wiki page.
epic, i did read through the bug notes, but i somehow missed it, maybe because of the excitement from nurse fixes
-
next patch he is S tier without a doubt
-
It does not need a nerf at all, it's fine perk now. They just have to disable it when you start blessing a totem.

I just find it funny how people complain about the survivor meta being boring and stale, and then when a decent perk (that can't compete with current meta anyway) gets released or a bad perk gets a decent buff, people flood to the forum to complain about it. "This perk is broken, SWF is gonna abuse it!", only for the perk to get use for like a week and then people switch back to the meta.
Happened to Lucky Break, Any Means Necesarry, For the People, Soul Guard, Built to Last, Power Struggle, Fast Track, Counterforce, Boon: Exponential and now Boil Over.
Because all survivor meta perks are so insanely broken that anything that will get into the meta is obviously even more broken, like CoH
Of course killers are afraid of that, look what survivors can do now with the tools they have

30 straight L's.
I quit playing Killer normally (because it's no longer fun whether I win or lose) so I decided to try to play Killers I have never played before in hopes that it would be a fresh experience.
Apparently, that was a mistake because I've lost 30 straight games while trying to learn Nurse.
Do the people making this game understand how ######### demoralizing it is to get clicked at, t-bagged and generally treated like a joke for thirty goddamn games? I had someone send me a TWITCH WHISPER to "learn how to play Killer gg baby Killer."
I had hoped that my MMR would lower enough to the point where I might get people on my skill level, but apparently not. I'm getting the exact same perk set-ups and the exact same people as my first games. It's not even that my MMR is high, I'm just BAD at Nurse because I've NEVER PLAYED HER BEFORE. I can't aim blinks and can't land hits and I'm never going to be able to because my games are ending before I get to learn ANYTHING.
Is this a rant/vent post? yes. Am I pissed? yes. Is this meant to be taken seriously? not really. Am I close to not being able to find any enjoyment in this game. also yes.
If you are new to the nurse you definitely must use both cooldown addons. Nurse has much less room for mistakes and if you can't handle her, the tripple cooldown will destroy you.

You do forget that there are pallets and windows in the game, try to hit a decent survivors on a strong tile with your insta down, its way harder than you think. Against casual survivors sure you can get some free downs but not on good survivors.
if you use myers power properly you always get at least one down with it, if you can't then u don't use it, and his extra lunge range + faster vault speed make him superior on many strong tiles

i'm simply pointing out how OP compared the strongest buff on the PTB with one of the weakest, when an equally good if not better perk is right there and equally worse perks for the survivors are also right there. the comparison feels disingenous, is all i'm saying.
I agree that this comparison really does not make any sense, most of the survivor perks buffed are still trash and same goes for the killer perks.
Just saying that at least Boil Over is something different that now seems good compared to yet another slowdown.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
Yeah let's compare the best survivor perk buff with the worst killer perk buff of the update instead of looking at how Boil Over and Dead Man's Switch now both have potential in a few builds.
Boil over at least allows you to mess with killer in a different way.
Dead Man's Switch is just another boring slowdown that does exact same thing as other boring slowdows and it mostlikely won't get out of ptb in its current state anyway. If they let it stay as is it would probably be the most broken perk ever on killers with mobility.
-
It wouldnt be good even with 200% extra lunge.
The fact that you can't even choose when to use it and deadhard completely eats it even before full extra lunge goes off are the reasons why it will be trash regardless of distance.
But idk, maybe if they let you lunge forever with it you could get some map pressure out of it at least.
-
Because she is actually trash now, she can't see anything, can't hear anything and you know exactly where she is.
Pretty much the only spirit I ever see always uses mother daugher ring + dried blossom or at least one of those which probably makes her playable, but I still escape.
-
Can't wait to actually play the Nurse without all those ######### bugs. People said she feels smooth now.

Ok I did not know that. Happened to me a lot, but I play on Xbox so perhaps this happens more with controller idk but I wish I knew this back then so I could have done something about it.
yeah it happens to me even though i know this, sometimes you forget the basement is at a certain place, but if you know that basement is at where u are aiming and there is no second floor then always try to aim a bit up and you will go forward
also charge amount matters as well, let's say you got second floor above you, if you don't charge your blink enough so that it reaches the distance to the second floor then u won't go there and you can use this to your advantage when playing around the basement by doing shorter blinks, so even if you aim up to a certain point on a second floor you won't go up there because your blink distance won't reach it, so it will send you forward instead, not upwards and not down because you are still facing up
-
@DBD78 said:
Does she still end up down in basement just trying to go past it? Anyone tried? That was the one I was most angry about when I played killer just ending up in basement by blinking forward.
that is not a bug though, if your camera really is completely straight then you will only go forward, if its a bit under that point then you always go down and for a bit above you will go up
-
Personally I think that the healing speed of CoH needs to be nerfed to like 70-80% and cap self-healing at 100%. And that basically fixes the issue

It removes a tool used for racist behavior.
If you had neighbors that hated you and they kept vandalizing your car overnight by throwing eggs out of the basket of eggs you keep on your front lawn, removing the basket of eggs you keep on your front lawn probably wouldn't stop it all together, but it would remove a method they use to do it. That's the point.
Limiting ways people can cause harm to others is important as well.
That is probably the worst example ever. If people show you middle finger to offend you, will you just cut off everyone's middle finger to solve the issue? Laughable.
Tool is never a problem, tool is literary just a tool for someone to use.

Get token for a survivor losing s health state. No longer requires hitting twice with a basic attack. So easier by far to get stacks.
Also, it shows the survivors aura instead of just the gen which is a bit more useful imho
great skill check requirement makes it useless, if people will suspect that you have it, they might stop trying to hit great skill checks which barely give any significant boost anyway
another perk that can be completely useless vs swf
-
I'm very surprised his addons didn't get nerfed.

It would be too good. Maybe with 15 seconds tops, but ain't no 45 seconds seeing a live version.

@Canas said:
This perk will remain worthless as long as Dead Hard exists. Doesn't matter how long your lunge is if the survivor can see your attack coming even earlier.
and it also gets eaten by deadhard, before you would at least followup until it ended and then did the damage

Not a big fan of anything that let's you get out of killers grasp without help of others. With the current balance this can be extremely punishing on some maps or some specific spots where survivors could just run to every single time. Imagine this paired with coordinated sabotage... you won't be able to hook anyone ever.
-
Myers should be at least B, built in instadowns are probably the best tool you can have now thanks to CoH and deadhard
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
You can not balance game if you have 2 different groups. SWF has much advantages than Solo-q. And this created all DbD problems:
- You can not buff killers because Solo-q will be worse.
- You can not nerf SWF because you can not punish people who wanna play with their friends.
So best you can do, buff solo survivors and buff killers. Balance game around this. Even after this game will not balance perfectly but it will be most healthy version for sure. This is good step to balance game, i hope there is more buffs for solo-q and ofcourse for killers.
Buff solo-q, buff all killers in general, buff weak killers, rework Nurse and remove Trickster. And DbD is great game.
You can nerf SWF and punish people playing together, because they are already doing that to the killer by not touching SWF at all.

I highly doubt it, people will just use SB instead
ill take sb anytime, you can counter it with some perks pretty well, and just like deadhard, even if half team runs it, you are gonna capitalize on the fact that the other half does not, and you know right away if they do have it or not, unlike deadhard
+ at least I know that I lost distance right away and I know right away how much will it cost me if I get into chase, not maybe a possibility that a chase will be extended by another 30s or more without even being able to guess

So you think if a Killer gets 0 hooks in the trial prior to 5 gens being done but gets a 2K because of NOED it's fair?
Because that doesn't seem fair to anyone.
it's same like killer winning a chase with mindgames or simply better playstyle and then survivors reset it with deadhard

This is the easiest way to gain MMR so that you can get destroyed even more
you're gonna get mmr regardless, that's why new players with 100 hours verse 4k hour survivors, mmr is not balanced at all, grade is far better representation of skill with killer

Because she straight up is not fun to face, due to her creating binary lose/lose scenarios for the survivors while denying the most engaging part of the game: chasing, in favor of survivors just running away and mindlessly dodging in hopes that they aren’t caught. I’m not saying she’s too powerful, but she’s a design failure, and something needs to be addressed to mitigate that.

Oh my. Of course, you NEVER were exhausted on the ground. This was on issue for years, but you NEVER had this...
And no, the Killer did not earn those Hits which get validated. Because otherwise they would not be validated. Before the validation, the Survivor just ended up exhausted on the ground. And you cannot say that the Killer earned that.
No I never did, because my internet is actually decent, and when I lag, I'm smart enough to press the button one second earlier. After all the outcome is always the same unless you are trying to dodge ranged killer hit.
If you know your internet is trash and you don't use dead hard sooner then it's only your fault.
-
I bet next update it will only work if 5 gens are done, bhvr balancing let's go
-
He was never good against those kind of survivors anyway, but they managed to kill him even more.
The nerf on box addons, especially the green ones, just completely killed his 1v4.
Also Engineer's fang was never even an OP addon, it actually rewarded pinhead for correctly using his already insanely hard to aim power and you could not down with it anyway. The nerf of chain amount on the addon is fine, however the increased time to close the portal just makes his power completely useless unless you are getting an injure with the first hit. 3 chains are already too weak, 2 chains with extra time you can't move basically lose you distance.
Without fang, pinhead is basic m1 killer that now can't even properly play around his box because of the green addons nerf. He was bad before, now he is honestly trash. And btw I barely ever used Fang, I only did when I wanted to test how good it actually is. I did like to play around the box which gave decent slowdown, but that is gone now and his base power is absolute garbage anyway.
-
Validation is honestly absolute BS especially on deadhard.
I used that perk forever on survivor and it did not fail a single time in any of my games.
Seems like it always was the issue of survivors having bad internet = high ping, but hey, bhvr gives them validation that basically messes up everything killer has earned and you have no way to counter the stupid behaviour of how validation works.
-
I'm glad someone else is noticing this issue, I encounter this problem on other maps from time to time as well.
Certainly there have been some shadow-changes to the hook system.
