  • When I played the PTB I had a stable ping of around 30-35 ms in the lobby.

They have dedicated servers setup in 8 locations. Are you near any of these?

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/095/3IY4RCMTYW9M.png Last December, we announced that we are migrating Dead by Daylight to Dedicated Servers by Summer 2019.

  • Reading the title I assumed this was a solution that had survivor and killer DCs in scope. But, as usual it's only about survivor DCs.

So let's not forget about killer DCs, mkay?

The entity needs sacrifice, and if a killer DCs, it means that he won't obey the entity and won't fullfill it's purpose. The logical choice would be to sacrifice the killer as a substitute and punishment.

Almost forgot, the emblem idea is also good. So let's not forget about this when talking about killer DCs. Survivors should get UNBROKEN emblem points.

  • Each time you heal a survivor for the first time you gain a token alongside the other altruistic actions you can do

Agreed, this should be a thing, but it should be tied to a condition: only gives a stack if you heal a survivor for at least 1/3 or 1/2 of the bar. You shouldn't get a WGLF stack for just performing a split-second healing action, you should be encouraged to really help someone else.

  • If you're referring to the font, apparently that's how it looks like if your game is set to use an asian language. It's using a different font.

  • One question regarding the upcoming dedicated servers:

Are you going to switch completly to dedicated servers (so that any trial will be hosted on a dedicated server), or do you implement a hybrid approach that still can use P2P as a fallback (in case something is wrong with the dedicated servers). This might also be interesting for players in regions that would have a high latency towards the next dedicated server location, so that P2P would actually be better for them.

Thanks in advance and have a great day!

  • Imagine, actually having to do something (even if it's just pressing a button, instead of literally doing nothing) to perform a mindgame. The mind boggles. But I like it. And as Jonathanskilz said, that's sort of how it should be.

  • When the collapse bar reach 1/3 progress, all pallets are destroyed by the entity, and windows are blocked for the rest of the trial.

Sounds like a well thought out idea. Maybe survivors auras should be visible to the killer and they should also get the broken status effect.

  • What kind of advertisement are you talking about?

The DLC description on Steam does not feature any misleading information.

  • At first glance, it sounds like a good idea, but it would just be a band-aid and not adressing reasons that lead people to DC. Also, you don't want to encourage builds and playstyles that are considered "toxic", to force the opposing side to DC just so that you get a BP Multiplier. Right?

  • Nice bait to keep that so called "MoM-Outrage" going.

  • Exactly man, just get hit 3 times and fully heal inbetween to get your MoM stacks before you go for THAT unhook. Sounds like optimal survivor game play.

Y'know, except when you die due to bugs (every game has them, not just DbD) and enemies that cannot be seen nor heard nor anticipated in any way.

    Sounds fair to me

yeah, just take a break like most killer players are doing right now. the re-introduction of double pallets and also looks like they just buffed DS again are adding to this mass exodus of killer players.

all I can do is wish survivor players luck in finding games..not sure who you are expecting to play vs though *shrugs*

I'm finding games and quick. Seems there's no exodus. But thanks for the "heads up".

  • Just take a break.

People were laughing at M. Cote for recommending Civ5 as an alternative. He was giving people some advise. If you're so deep down into the game that you're overreacting like this, you should gain some distance and play something else in the meantime and come back later.

    So, just take a break.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

@Pizzaman Yeah, reminds one of the old DS, doesn't it?

It does extend the chase, but that's all it has in common with the old DS. The old DS didn't require you to put yourself in harms way 3 times for the Perk to work on a 4th occasion, it was active the first time, so in that regard it's different MoM is bound to a condition. We will see how many people are going to use it and how (maybe combine it with DS?), but my guess is: it won't become a meta perk.

  • Alright. So let's recap:

    - A one time use Perk

    - Requires the survivor to put himself in harm's way to get the 3 stacks for MoM to finally be active

    - Still doesn't guarantee survival, just raises the likelyhood of a longer chase

  • I will buy it, as soon as the infamous infinite loading screen is fixed. Until then, I'm not going to spend any money on DLCs.

  • From time to time, I prestige a character when there's an event that requires you to use "offerings" (I'm not putting any bloodpoints into a character beyond Level 50, unless it's already P3). Save up to 1 million bloodpoints before you do it, then spend it all on the bloodweb and always buy event offerings. Use the event offerings to gain even more bloodpoints to progress your prestiging. Rinse and repeat.

  • Most pressing issue: Infinite Loading Screen

Because it's game breaking, not only for those who experience it. It makes other players suffer as well, because it leads to 3v1 or 2v1s and nobody wants that, so they DC and need to search for a new lobby (which wastes time). As if our time wasn't valuable, because it has to be spent with looking for new lobbies, because just another 3v1 or 2v1 happened.

  • @Acromio said:

    It's a classic, really.

-Killers complain about something (in this case, the Plague's power being near useless) ---> the devs insult them and/or tell them to "just adapt" ("You don't know how to play them!!!!!!11!!!") ---> killers adapt (in this case by using the Plague's movement speed while holding her power at their advantage) ---> the devs nerf them because they were able to adapt (they reduced the new killer's movement speed while holding the puke).

The good old "Killers adapted" Meme.

    Nice.

  • Well, it's an interpretation thing.

If you catch a survivor, you down and hook him. No matter what. While you're still not in the endgame, it's a regular thing. But when the gates are open and you get taunted, then downing and hooking him is not a regular thing anymore, it becomes punishment. I see.

  • How is that punishment? It's part of the game to hook/kill. If you get cought, bad luck.

  • Even if you could see the rank, it wouldn't prevent you from having those kind of survivors in your game.

  • "The biggest difference between them and the rest of you complainers is they actually put in the effort to improve. They also don't spend most of their time whining on the forums instead of actually improving."

@powerbats: that last sentence, man. SO TRUE. You nailed it. The biggest crybabies are the ones that shitpost in this forum like every 10 minutes, instead of just playing the game.

  • Maybe there should be a counceling area on the discord server to help burnt out killers getting back into the game and of course to consult with them on relaxation techniques to reduce stress and therefore prevent a burn out.

    *just kidding*

  • "You can use it to your hearts content, attempt every save, and run around clicking at me."

That's concerning. So you are saying that a survivor with a flashlight, can run around clicking at you, and still attempt every save. Every Save. EVERY SAVE.

    E V E R Y S A V E

While running around. Clicking at you. And attempt every save.

This forum, man. You just got to like it. Threads like this are gold. Pure amusement.

Some people don't play both roles so they make posts like that.

Attacking the person instead of their arguments.

    Noice.

Too long. We already see 3-4k in most matches with a 30-40% survival rate. Pushing the survivors into a 2 minute period of either hide and seek or trying to work within half the map will drop that even more. Imagine Nurse, Billy, Spirit, or Legion with this perk. It will be nuts.

As for the stealthy part, stealth is a joke now days with all the aura perks. Add in her own perk of making everyone scream...Seriously, put this perk on Doc and forget stealth.

Hell, this perk might just be the Freddy fix.

Honestly, I'm curious. And if it's going to be the next meta. So be it.

And I'm also pretty sure people will start to react to it "accordingly", which should be visible in BHVR's gameplay statistics.

Claudette doesn't need to hide in a locker, tall grass and corners will do just fine.

On the game? On Ormond? I doubt it. But nice try :D

  • The more important question is:

If you would put this screen on paper, cut away the area that's not black and put it on a flashlight.

Could you use it to call for BATMAN?

  • SWF-Claudette1: Hey guys, she's got that Perk that blocks Generators. TEAM, initiate plan "2 minute locker camp"

    SWF-Claudette2-4: Roger that!

  • The old borrowed time screen was ok-ish.

The deep wound screen looks stylish but it's got me killed more than once. You'd assume that you can see the killers stain pretty good in it, but somehow I can't see it as good as I could in the borrowed time screen.

That peephole that you get when you've got puked on, oh boy. OH BOY. It's annoying to say the least. But let's see.

  • For every upside, there's a downside

  • @Eveline said:

As a killer when I chase people and they drop pallets even when I'm miles away... That really makes me cringe. Ranking is messed up.

The emblem system doesn't take into consideration if one turns the camera to look behind during a chase. There are lots of people in upper ranks that do this. Same for pallet camping.

Maybe there should be an additional category for the emblem system: STYLE

  • I'd have to see the new titles (jungle gym and regular stuff) and especially the lower floor of the main building to judge it. I'm just hoping that it's not a death trap where you're absolutly exposed with no way to juke.

Also, Red Forest/Mother's Dwelling is a pretty big map. I hope they made this new version of it a bit smaller.

  • Reduce the speed of this video to 0.25.

    I think that's jiggle physics.

    https://youtu.be/b7_D5nkTsp4?t=2092

  • I'm fine with it, if you want to follow your made-up rules.

  • The old kate hooking scream sounded like a squeaky balloon.

My recommendtion to you would be: bookmark that YouTube Video, and whenever you want to listen to "squeaky-balloon-Kate", just play that video.

    RIP squeaky-balloon-Kate-scream

I have had this problem too but not with a window but with the hatch, after getting hit I went to jump through but instead jumped into the locker.

But doesn't that mean that you pressed SPACE (or whatever your Action Key is), instead of M1? In my book that's not even related to the locker placement topic.

  • Are you sure it's not a lamp?

  • As usual in this forum, the discussion revolves around fixing the symptoms instead of fixing the underlying issue (aka root cause).

People DC because they feel like or experience a situation they deem is unwinnable or unfair. If you play the game for a long time, you see a lot of things and develop some sort of sense about how capable you are against this certain group of survivors or how capable your team is. Nobody wants to stay in a game where you get to experience a great imbalance first hand.

So they real issue is not disconnecting. That's the symptom. The real issue is imbalance. May it be unbalanced killers, unbalanced survivors, unbalanced maps or unbalance ranks/match making, you name it. It makes more sense to approach the underlying issues. Because fixing them will result in less DCs and a game that's fun to play.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • I think they are there to enable locker jukes (e.g. in the shack, in case you don't have enough distance to safely get a fast vault, you can opt for a locker juke instead).

But it happened to me too, a few times, that I pressed SPACE too early and ended up in the locker. But it also saved by butt several times. So, I'd say, keep em, and just press SPACE when your at the window, not before.

  • @TheBean said:
They should just do what PACMAN does and put portals on each side of the map that players can use to get to the otherside fast.

How about a perk that let's you put up Ziplines so everyone can move faster through the map ... no wait, that's Apex.

    OK

How about a perk that let's you throw a smoke grenade to evade your hunter .... no wait, that's Apex again.

  • Honestly, I don't care, as long as there's SOME kind of professional communication (not soon™) with the community, even if it's just a "we're still working on some details but the core is ready, in 2 weeks we'll know if we're ready to release it or if we need Slightly/Moderately/Considerably/Tremendously more time".

  • @Master said:
With the stuf going on lately in the forum I assume that a lot of verteran kilers have been bullied away and are taking a break now.
I personally dont know any killer that still actively plays the game actually and im barely playing either compared to last year

As much as it would fit the forum-narative of the killer that's threatened with extinction, it's most likely not related to that, because killers are not retreating from the game. It seems more logical that it is indeed related to backend changes of the match making. And it's happening to everyone.

  • What if the staircases were wider,
so that bodyblocking wouldn't be a thing anymore?
