There's two of them when this happens. One throws the other flashes then they both split.

Doesn't change anything. It means that there's still at least one person close to you (the Flashlight). If you can not "see" why that's in your favour, then nobody here can help you.

  • So, you're saying your friend went against a 4 man SWF, of which all of them were using familiy sharing and two of them had legacy cosmetics (despite using family sharing?)?

And after 2 occurences, he refunded the game.

    Sounds legit.

Someone suggested, walking over the traps let you auto pick it up

Traps also need to have a bigger "trap box" Ive seen soooo many survivors able to easily walk around traps in passages that there should be no way they don't hit it

I partially disagree. If you want the area of effect to be bigger, then the trap should just be bigger. The last thing we need is another invisible thing (trap "hitbox") that screws you in a chase, and of course: this goes both ways.

  • In general: public knowledge about an exploit puts pressure on the devs to fix it rather fast (e.g. provide a hotfix), instead of being able to wait it out and just put it in the mid chapter patch or the next DLC.

So ask yourself: should the person get banned that actually helps to accelerate the process?

  • We all know that with Bugfixes, new Bugs are introduced. But still, the sooner Bugs are fixed, the sooner Feedback can be provided. Also, new Bugs will be spotted much fast if the Fixes go live earlier and aren't bundled into the midchapter patch.

    So, yeah. Shorten that cycle.

  • Thanks for this "useful" improvement 🤣 🤣 🤣

  • Thanks for mentioning it. I also wasn't aware there's already a trailer.

But in retrospective, it's no wonder. You can not find it in the well known DBD YT Channel, because they created a new YT Channel for the mobile version. Also no information in the news section, well, it's because they created a new news section for mobile.

    🤔 🤔 🤔

He's definitely not OP. Give him a few weeks then we'll see how strong he is.

I sense a contradiction. Either you know how strong he is "He's definately not OP", or you don't "Give him a few weeks then we'll see how strong he is".

Nobody can really say how it will play out. Let's wait a bit and see. So I agree with the latter.

  • Were all gens done?

How many people were alive when you did try it?

  • F13 and Deathgarden are very different beasts than DBD.

F13 doesn't have just 4 survivors in a trial (it can be, but usually it's many more), also you can escape by finishing your own objective (e.g. getting the boat ready, while others go for the car or call the police). You don't have just 1 main objective.

Deathgarden was reworked, and it's still being balanced.

30 Pallets per map? Sure. Sounds legit.

You are complaining about "16 Perks vs 4"? Does that mean that you want 16 Perks as a Killer to even out the resources? Sure. Why not? What could possibly go wrong when people in the DBD forum "balance" the game.

I'm always amazed (and not in a good way) about the things that are brought up by people that are new to this forum, but welcome anyway.

  • 15% of 100% ?

    Sounds good to me

  • So you're saying the weakness is:

"his power reliant on survivors doing TWO mistakes (not seeing ghostface and getting downed while exposed)?"

And at the same time you say:

"I want something like Billy or Myers, beeing in full control of my m2 ability."

Where Myers also needs to down you while you're exposed.

Would you mind to explain that? Or did you just overshoot a bit trying to construct a second argument which (in the whole context) better fits your narrative?

Using 3rd party tools to give you a visual advantage in a game where stealth is important. You should just get banned for using such a tool.

Just to clarify something mentioned in the OP, the usage rate for the nurse is only the killer in about 22.39% of all matches played at rank 1 on PC. On console, her usage rate is significantly lower. She's definitely not used in 4/5 matches, it's much closer to 1/5.

Is this number coming from the same statistics that show an 80% survival rate at rank 1? @Peanits

  • Just read the posts in this forum.

Everytime you read "mindgame", you drink.

  • Maybe they shouldn't reward only people that equipped a specific perk?

  • Sir, what's your obsession with Generator regression?

  • @Frugl1 said:

You dont balance by nerfing equally. Survivors are getting nerfs because they were, and still are by a pretty large margin too powerful at high ranks, when played by people with half a brain(Sadly a large part of the community do not fit under this demographic).

Keep in mind that there is an 80% escape rate at rank 1.

There's no 80% escape rate and Peanits already confirmed that this number is not correct. Just by looking at the graph, it should instantly become clear that the numbers are skewed.

It doesn't make any sense that the survival rate is about 60% at Rank 2 and 80% at Rank 1. Someone with half a brain would see that (Sadly a large part of the community do not fit under this demographic).

  • In the tally screen, once everybody is out, you see the survivors running.

Hovering the mouse cursor over their names in the tally screen, you should see the respective name getting displayed over their head. This will enable you to identify a survivor, unless everybody used the same char, same outfit etc.

    See:

    TallyScreen-Names.png

  • @Milo said:

@Pizzaman i guess so you can bait the killer for going after you?

That's not what the OP was complaining about. OP clearly referred to the amount of health states as the problem, as if the proposed way to playing MoM gives you an edge, which it clearly doesn't.

Btw. imho it's not an exploit. Also, if you do it as proposed by the OP your Aura is immediately visible to the killer (once you've gained enough distance).

  • Scenario #1

    • Full Health (MoM active) + 1 Hit
    • Injured (MoM active) + 1 Hit
    • Injured (MoM proced) + 1 Hit
    • Dying State

Result: 3 Hits to get to the "Dying State"

    Scenario #2

    • Injured (MoM active) + 1 Hit
    • Injured (MoM proced) -> Heal from 99 to 100%
    • Full Health + 1 Hit
    • Injured + 1 Hit
    • Dying State

Result: 3 Hits to get to the "Dying State"

    3 Hits, in both scenarios.

So what's all the fuzz again?

  • - How can a chase be prolonged indefinitely by DH, if DH is an exhaustion perk that does not recharge while being in a chase? Are you maybe overexaggerating?

    - MoM needs to be activated by getting hit 3 times, so it IS bound to a condition. If you use MoM strategically (preparing for the endgame), it's not a free hit (remember the condition? Getting hit 3 times, escaping the killer and healing afterwards?).

  • Why don't you ask for more Bloodpoints instead of a Stack? That would mean everybody could capitalize, not just people that happen to have a specific perk equipped at the very moment.

  • @KaoMinerva said:

Yet survivors can bodyblock to prevent hooks, prevent downs, and ENSURE escapes! Man shut up and git gud. You had SWF. Should've coordinated better!

Totally balance and fairness for all to fight the dcs till the get a system in place to punish it on both sides

    🐖

And that's exactly what it isn't. People without BBQ/WGLF won't be able to capitalize, so it's not balanced and fair. But you probably alread read that.

  • @Trotfoxx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/470622#Comment_470622

Because DC and quitters should be punished, not the other way around. If the killer just tries to play the game and wants to get the 4 stacks, he shouldn't be punished because a selfish survivor decided to quit before he can even hook him.

If DC gives a stack, there's one less reason for a surv. to DC, as some of them do that in purpose to fck the killer not letting them get the stack.

Nobody is entitled to a BBQ or WGLF stack.

Again, this would favour people who have the appropriate perks but leaves other people in the dust. Not every Killer uses BBQ and not every survivor uses WGLF (just because a Perk is popular doesn't mean that everybody uses it!).

It's obvious that you only see your own use case, but this needs a more generic approach that does not concentrate on specific groups of players (that run certain perks).

  • I like that at least both sides were considered (nice! finally!). BUT.

I don't see a reason why either side should get a stack. What exactly did they do to deserve the stack? Earn stacks by hooking survivors or unhooking them. If there's nobody else to hook/unhook you don't get stacks. The concept is pretty easy to understand.

Also why should only people with certain perks get "something" for a DC? In the end it would just be another bitter-sweet band-aid fix for a certain group of people (those who run the mentioned perks).

    This should not be considered.

I dont think that there is any place were a Survivor can get through but a Killer dont. There are some spots where it looks like a Survivor would fit in, but the Survivor gets fatshamed as well.

It was indeed sometimes a problem on some maps (usualy involving rocks and/or trees), but a problem that's in the past. But see, if one barely has any facts to present, then you can always pull out old problems and act as if they are still an issue and use them as pseudo-facts to strenghten an already shaky point.

  • Yes, the "shiny new toy". We get it.

seams these days making a joke it's really hard for people to understand 🤷‍♂️

It's hard, you know, because of certain people in this forum that complain about vanities.

Not long ago, a person in this forum complained about being bullied as killer. As proof, that person uploaded a video to youtube and posted it here. Looking at the video, It was clear that nobody bullied him. He was playing against noobs that didn't play strategically and made careless moves. But he insisted, and stated that they hook rushied (which of course was toxic to him) and that they were doing this and that, and they were SWF so they deserved all what he did anyway. Well, he's not with us anymore, so to cut a long story short:

This forum. Strange people. Hence, you never know. gg for your "hatch standoff"

  • Offtopic, therefore belongs into the section "Offtopic" aka "Hey, that's not Dead by Daylight related!"

    11 btw.

  • As dedicated servers are being prepared and were also tested as part of the last PTB:

Will dedicated servers (in the long run) completely replace the P2P way of hosting a game/trial, or will P2P still be available as a fallback method to host a game/trial (in case dedicated servers are not working/have a latency that's just too high)?

There may be occasions where dedicated servers can not cope with the amount of players or players in regions that will have a high latency towards the next dedicated server region, where having P2P still would make sense.

  • I hope the next leak is the annoucement that the root cause of infamous infinite loading screen has been fixed.

  • Probably had like 8 to 10 of these farm rounds, overall: pretty good so far.

  • The sounds as well as the visuals should not be extensively configurable.

It should be exactly in the way the game was designed to sound and look like, so that every player has the same experience. If you make all that configurable, people will abuse it to their advantage (e.g. turn down chase music to better locate the opponent, turn up the brightness/contrast to be able to see even in dark corners).

Also, if it's true that "every game made for over the last decade has had these options", then it should not be difficult for you to name at least 10 of those games that heavly rely on sound and that are also asymmetrical multiplayer games. Once you name them, and maybe even provide some screenshots of the audio sliders, we can compare the options.

  • Crossplay would definitely help to keep the game alive and even help with the queueing/matchmaking. More players means you can be more strict about finding the right matches considering rank and geolocation (even with dedicated servers, location will still be important).

Imho the least problems are to be expected if you would allow crossplay between all console platforms (XBOX, PS4 and Switch-Soon™). Adding PC to that mix might indeed introduce new problems.

@Pizzaman - If you agree with someone, you don't really need to say anything more if it doesn't add to the conversation. If you disagree, it makes sense to explain why.

    "That's a nice cake"

    "I agree"

"That is not a nice cake".

"What the ######### is wrong with my cake? I spent an hour baking that you bastard"

Agreeing with somebody that does not explain why he thinks that the cake is nice = no context to agree to.

We see this kind of stuff on a daily basis in this forum. People just claim things like "XYZ is overpowered and needs to be nerfed" or "XYZ is useless and needs to be buffed", but the person does not explain why. Still, people upvote it, without having any context.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

People will often down vote and move on without explaining why, rather than actually debating with someone they don't agree with.

And if someone has a controversial opinion, they're just probably going to be downvoted a lot, which doesn't look good. People hop on a bandwagon without any context all the time.

Getting down voted without any context is just... meh.

So if I get that right, you would prefer to have the downvote AND upvote button removed. Because you can up and downvote anything without providing any explanation.

  • Actually that's a very good question. And I can not understand why it's so complicated to get a satisfying statement on this.

EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) is a software product that is used to counter act cheating. As anti cheat software it should be deterministic and does not act on it's own. Somebody needs to tell it what to do, that's how it works.

I don't know exactly how EAC works (they are quite secretive about it, no detailed information publicly available), but I would imagine that there is at least a white list and black list of things to check or to ignore.

The fact that BHVR says they won't ban you for using custom icons is good. But they also say that they can not prevent EAC from banning you (remember they use EAC as a product/service and they pay for it!). And that seems so out of this world.

How can you use an anti-cheat product/service and not know how it works, or take any influence on it (e.g. put custom icon files on something like an EAC file whitelist).

It's seems so strange, that it's almost unreal.

  • Why would you modify the look. It was designed to look like it is, because it can affect the gameplay.

  • @OogieBoogie said:

Just want to point out that at 20s in there was a cut. His trap count goes from 10 to 6. There's no telling how much time was cut, so it could have actually been several minutes into the match when those gens popped.

Just shows you how much gameplay experience the OP has. Game started at 0:15, first Gen pops at 0:40 seconds, that would be 25 seconds. Obviously, it can not be right.

  • Just as a side note: a rage quit is a DC, but a DC is not necessarily a rage quit.

    That is all.

  • If you make maps smaller you will increase the presence of low mobility killers. Yes, true. But at the same time, you will also increase the presence of high mobility killers, making them even more powerful.

I might be missing something, but this doesn't sound like a well balanced change proposal.
