Neither did I.
I was shocked when I first saw the thread with like 5k views and a few hundred comments. I was shocked even more it was a thread about the performance of all things.
Then again, you must've been more shocked than I did, lol.
It's funny, we've complained about performance for years until the minority became the majority and now BHVR has to deal with it. It's like Tetris you know, if you ignore certain moves or do wrong moves you have to live with your mistakes until you find a way to fix them, or, you get suffocated and lose the game.

If u ask me, these freezes & other performance issues are a great way to introduce new players to DBD. Especially those coming for the RE chapter.
Just to let them know what to expect.

Yes, you can get banned for it.
If u get banned, BHVR can't do anything to help you. You'll have to deal with the guys that made the anti-cheat.
As for the chances... I'd say rather high, but this is just speculating.

I mean...
I was using Insidious + Dragon's grip on Deathslinger. On Badham, I hid behind a bush that's clearly too small for me and waited 10 seconds for someone to touch the gen. I will not tell you how times this has worked.

He wasn’t banned for speaking the truth he was banned cause he harassed and insulted the devs and he’s extremely biased towards killer he says killers always get nerfed and they need to buff killers but he always ignores survivors. I imagine survivor mains saying “screw you what about us?” I know the main reason he was banned though but I can’t say cause it’s against the rules go to my channel to find out

Yeah, I watch him, amongst others that criticize BHVR for their lack of common sense, amongst others. I know the true reason he was banned as well.

I did kinda suspect they were pushing people more towards bubba/oni/blight for this reason but what they did with wraith doesn't make sense in that light.
More likely they just don't want to admit they were wrong and remove a mechanic they spent time putting in.
IMO Wraith happened to get a lot of attention recently which caught the attention of the Devs, hence why they buffed him.
His first change was an increase in his lunge radius. Or, to be more precise, he maintains the speed after he gets out of the cloak for a longer duration, which allows you to swing further, pretty much around an entire loop now if you abuse it properly. This is a change we did not ask for as a community. This is THEIR change, not ours.
The 2nd buff he got was a 20% or 25% increase in speed while cloaked. A change he desperately needed and the community always complained about. Most likely to shut us up & make us happy once and for all.
I'm also here to remind you that these were the first couple of buffs Wraith has received in 2 years... Yes, you heard it. If you follow the patch notes, you can see that Wraith has not received a buff or a change for 2 years, since 2018. These two buffs were the first after 2 years of complete silence
Which can also happen to Billy. He hasn't received any buffs since Last August, whereas Blight has received constant changes up to this day.
Now, the hard truth. If we don't get any buffs this next chapter release and there's nothing the mid-chapter patch that comes after. There are VERY low chances Billy will be buffed this year.
After all, the anniversary of the "Hillbilly Addon rework" & "Hillbilly was performing fine so we're just gonna change his addons" disaster is coming.

Billy is a Free Killer -> He's not earning money for them -> Billy is not a priority, at least right now.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Bily is heavily underplayed.
Meaning not many people complain about him or want him to get buffed, even though he's a Free Killer.
When it comes to feedback, it falls on deaf ears.
If you want BHVR to buff him, get a checkmark from Twitt-.... * Cough * Start posting in the Feedback & Suggestions section of this Forum and maybe you'll get noticed. That's a big IF you'll get noticed or think whatever you said is important & needed.

I try to play Oni and I'm underwhelmed. It's more difficult to apply pressure, especially without anti-healing. Survivors tend to have insta-smoothing brains when I start a backrev as Billy and they just die. Against an Oni they immediately find a vault etc. I assume it's because they think I'll longsaw. Idk.
Interesting.
I found Oni to be way easier & more powerful than Billy. Especially when one uses his addons.
Oni is the easier & more balanced version of Billy
My build goes as follows for Oni:
- BBQ
- Infectious - Mandatory
- Ruin / Pop - I use Ruin
- Corrupt - Mandatory

Not to disagree with you, but he is viable at rank 1 if you know what you're doing. The exception being Lampkin Lane or Badham Preschool (ANY OF THEM). But the more people mention it, the more I agree with it. A small part of me refuses to believe it.
It's funny how FREE killers get the short end of the stick 99% of the time whereas paid killers always get favoritism. I get one earns you money, but they both all cosmetics If I were to go in that zone, both are in the same game, both are being played. Look how many fixes, changes & buffs Blight got ever since He was released in August last year. It's mind-blowing, whereas Billy didn't get an update since last August.
He is viable at rank 1, yes, only if his steering was better, hitboxes better, ghost saw didn't exist amongst a plethora of things. He can still wreck at rank 1 but the amount of work & experience needed in order to do so is pretty high, especially when dealing with survivors that are decent+
He is not a priority right now, at least that's the message I'm getting from BHVR at the moment. If u hope for a buff the best chances are the mid-chapter & Chapter patches which are usually 1-2 months apart from each other. If he doesn't get one, you'll have to hope for the next ones & repeat. Then again, not many people play Billy unfortunately and the small feedback we provide usually falls on deaf ears, knowing BHVR.

Outside of myself, I don't see other Billy players.
Ever since his rework, I must've faced 3 or 4 max. I play around 20+ matches every week as a survivor. Rarely, 15+ matches per day as survivor.

To answer your question and not take the piss out of it. Go watch Ardetha on youtube. There's no such thing as animations telling you when she's phasing or not. Of all things, it's mostly a bug.
