  • Since my BP is used for other characters (prestiging Kate, Clown AND Legion), I havent dumped them on Spirit for a while (P3 and all the perks I want on her). As a result, I run add-on-less frequently (or with just common ones), and I do fairly good with it in general.

I only equip good add-ons if I want to feel OP. Or equip the reappearance add-ons if I need a daily.

  • A couple of things to consider:

    1) Outlast 2 was really disjointed. The overall story was also rather ######### (Outlast 1 didnt have an amazing one either, but they screwed up trying to link both of them together).

    2) It focused less on (what I like to call) the "Horror Trinity" and instead go for the creeping factor rather than scare factor.

    3) As said above, the more you horror, the less you scare. I remember years ago when I couldnt finish Amnesia TDD or Alien Isolation because I would get too scared to keep going. Nowadays I am bolder than then.

Then I will haunt at you and pull you from every generator, totem, locker or exit gate you touch.

  • Dr Pepper is one of the most disgusting drinks I have ever tasted.

  • Inverting WASD? Interesting. Good thing I use arrow keys. :P

  • You mean like running against the wall around, for instance, the killer shack? It shouldnt affect hitboxes since they are just cylinders. Survivors do it against any type of Killer just to make full use of having a smaller hitbox than Killers.

What's the issue? It's the better than having it destroyed within the first 30 seconds.

The fact that they last only 30s is a problem, not the standard that we need to aim for or something just slightly better.

The strength in Ruin isnt just the skillchecks, but also forcing Survivors to waste time looking for and cleansing the totem. By removing the Hex status, you have to make up for that time sink as well. No generators being done because Survivors are looking for the totem is still better than Survivors rushing a generator tuat takes slightly longer than a regular one.

Look at Corrupt Intervention, for instance. Lasts for 2 minutes and completely prevents Survivors from doing certain generators (pushing them closer to the Killer). Then we have this new Ruin, that slightly increases generator time ONCE, heavily dependent on RNG. With this change, yoy are making it worse than Corrupt Intervention.

If you want to still make it appealing for Killers to use up one of their 4 limited slots for this perk, increase it to 3 generators (or 2 at the very least).

  • The first generator? Really?

I've never experienced it either, but many people here swear vehemently that it's happened to them. Being let go through the hatch, on the other hand, has happened to me several times. Given that there are four survivors to every killer, I can only conclude survivors in my area are particularly undeserving of the hatch, since they won't repay the favor. That's why I'm gonna stop giving any of them the hatch.

I have been giving away hatch escapes lately because of flawed matchmaking. Like, I have done it 3 times today already, one of which I even waited for a Meg to 0-100 two gens (after maxing out Deviousness and Hunting as Clown) because I felt really guilty.

Being given the hatch (outside those times the Killer doesnt accept the free kill), I have seen it happen a lot (to me and others). That said, I wont complain. There is a strong lack of toxic Survivors and campers in my region.

  • Ever since they introduced Deliverance last year, I have unhooked myself exactly 7 times (considering I dont use Deliverance, the achievement makes it easy to track). I generally do not attempt it anyway.

  • I do it from time to time if I notice map RNG was crap against them. Every single time though, the Killers will always refuse to hook me and gently carry me to the hatch.

As Killer, I have never experienced it actually.

  • For a second I thought that by "switch" you meant the console, lol.

Regardless, the game is much more enjoyable as PC user than consoles, in my opinion. Mouse and Keyboard are better than controllers for it. Performance is also a lot better. And also the community is most likely larger than on consoles.

  • If we was turned into a 110% movement speed Killer:

    • Remove the slowdown while revving up his chainsaw.
    • Make "silent chainsaw" add-ons stronger.
  • At least we can all agree Meg is second.

Bold of you to imply matchmaking was functional in the first place

To be fair, I had little problems with the old matchmaking system. Fast lobbies, reasonable rank range, yellow/green ping most of the time. The only thing that was bad about it was that it prioritised new lobbies instead of the old ones.

  • I havent done it myself, but I have seen Survivors who DC as soon as they heard her blinking screech.

Y'all never looked at Quinten huh

His modelled face may not be the best one, but his outfits are one of the best looking ones out of all non-store cosmetics (maybe even including store cosmetics).

I'm not talking about the characterization the crappy remake version got. I mean Nancy in general. Her status as a character in the NOES lore is far more important than Quentin's. Just because she got one bad version of herself doesn't diminish her importance as Freddy's number one nemesis.

Maybe, but our Nightmare on Elm Street on DbD is the one from the 2010 movie, not the entire franchise. And THAT version of Nancy is not good enough main character material.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Quentin should not even have been the survivor for Freddy. Nancy should have. She is the equivalent to Freddy of what Laurie is to Michael in terms of survivor against him.

But Nancy is a useless character in the movie. Quentin did far more than her while she went "Oh no, Mr Freddy, dont look up my school girl uniform skirt! 😫".

Not to mention Quentin filled one very needed "Survivor type" we were missing, the "male teen". Dwight is the young adult, Jake is the Asian-ish man, Ace the old guy. Even after his release, we still lack another one like him.

Once the DS nerf goes live it will effectively become a useless perk that nobody ever takes any more.

Once this happens just change DS from a perk to a default mechanic (because struggling is 99% of the time a pointless endeavor)

Either that or make it so the percentage of the struggle bar completed increases the percentage chance of de-hooking yourself (because currently 99.9% struggle bar completion = no reward for effort given)

Saying that, DS nerf won't effect me as I forged myself to learn how to survive without it knowing that it would one day be nerfed and have found myself to be a better survivor for it.

Once other Survivors do the same, Killers will come to the grim realization that their complaints for DS nerfs have resulted in the creation of an entire generation of better survivors, far more formidable than any who relied on DS prior to nerf.

The same capable and formidable Survivors that complain about NOED and BBQ?

  • It used to boost vault speed (unless that was Resilience, or both), but not anymore.

  • TotH wasnt changed. They just made it so that the extra BP on all tiers are the same as the current tier 3. By saying "cleansing speed stays the same", they mean they stay as they are now, because cleansing speed is the only thing that changes with each tier now.

  • No one will ask for a Freddy rework on a main chapter because we all knew it wasnt coming. I would wait for the Q&A for the mid-chapter patch.

  • The sass queen is definitely Plague. 100% agree.

  • I would say differently. There are four sides:

    - Survivor mains.

    - Killer mains.

    - 50-50s (or 30-60 or whatever percentage you come up with).

    - The ones that dont care.

    I disagree with a few.

Legion. They look extremel silly when running. Like how they bend their back, and extend their arms. Looks like they have some neurological damage or something (braindead killer confirmed?).

Wraith. He looks really badass in my opinion. He is like the only killer that actually runs, not just walks with oversized steps. My favourite animation, because it looks realistic.

Nurse. She looks even more badass. She is like "I dont care how fast you run, I will still get you anyway". Also it looks kinda cool when she looks to the side when moving. Emphasises her hanging head more.

Wraith runs like he has a stick up his bell hole.

  • If Spirit was on my main menu, I would definitely never quit.

  • For Clown, Lery's is far worse than Rotten Fields.

  • Yes, Kate's is probably the best one out of all Survivors. If I had to choose a second one, I would maybe choose Jane's. Despite not been my favourite, I can appreciate the effort put on it.

The Killers with the best backstories are however, not coincidentally, the last four Killers released; Clown, Spirit, Legion and Plague. It shows they have tried giving characters a bigger depth.

Killers are slowed by Vaults, Survivors by Landing. The Difference is If survivors want to stop the stagger from falling there's a perk for that, Balanced landing. There's no Killer perk specifically for Vaulting.

If there was a stagger put on Killers falls a lot of maps would have to be looked into and fixed, It'd be a lot of work for something that's not needed.

    Bamboozle? :P

  • All's fair in love and war... for skins.

  • I thought Detective's Hunch already worked like that. Been ages since I last used it though.

Also, Bitter Murmur isnt map wide unless its the last generator. Dark Sense is the same (in the sense that it triggers in full effect after the last generator).

  • Pretty sure Underperform was an early version of DS. :P

  • I got a Kate who DCed the other week because she missed her Dead Hard on the first try (I didnt even swing). So, players will DC for anything.

Personally, I dont care. I would rather enjoy the animation than get salty I was taken out of the game earlier.

  • About rework 1, I get what you are trying to do, but hitting all 4 Survivors in one go is not difficult, but situational as hell. What do you mean by charge speed? Movement speed during Frenzy or recovery speed (cooldown)?

I guess if its the former, it will be easier to pull off. Otherwise, it just sounds like Frank's Mixtape (of which a remake would actually be interesting).

As for rework 2, is it hitting Survivors generally or with Frenzy (as in simple M1 attacks counting)?

  • Even though most of my Survivors have most of the same perks unlocked, I like varying my builds. The only perk I have all the time equipped (unless I dont have it on that character), is WGLF, just for the points.

Stake Out: At least it creates the illusion my skillchecks are flawless to other Survivors. Like "Oh my! 3 great skillchecks in a row! This guy must be good!". But seriously though, rather underrated perk. Extra progress just in case you didnt land that Great, and comes in clutch most oftenly. Great counter to Ruin.

Pharmacy: Works best with Botany Knowledge, but still not needed. Good through 1 or 2 heals without it, but you wont need more than that. Better than SC, in my opinion, because of the speed (so a semi-counter to Sloppy Butcher). You wont trigger dodges, because of no medkit in lobby. No time wasted searching through chests either.

Balanced Landing or Lithe: BL being the best exhaustion perk. No explanation needed. Sometimes I mix it up with Vigil so that I can run more oftenly. When I use Lithe, I also use Dance With Me.

Alert: Gives you the Killer's location when breaking stuff, so extremely useful. Also tells you what generators they are protecting and what pallets have been used/broken.

Iron Will: Stealth. Amazing for mid-chase jukes and in general.

And, no, I dont use BT, because I never perform unsafe unhooks. :P

  • Even though we will all drop dead waiting for them, I would absolutely love more cosmetics for licensed characters. Even non-canon ones.

  • They should fix up Discordance, being tier 1 the most powerful. Shorter but more frequent notifications are better.

  • @HatCreature said:

Well it's the three original killers, maybe those BP are left over from years ago and never got changed? Also if you suck so bad that you can't Transition 4 Survivors as Freddy you need to stop playing this game.

He isnt saying pulling Survivors into Dream World is difficult. He is saying its easier to do it than uncloaking as Wraith and landing a hit, yet it rewards more BP than the Wraith one.

Those are just remnants of an era back when Wraith was considered OP and Hillbilly was crap. I honestly just trash them when I get those (but to be fair, I dont play any of the three originals).

  • As someone who has no friends on DbD, I am forced to play solo Survivor all the time. And you know what? I love it. It just means that I can truly rely on my own abilities instead of others' (well, we do rely on others, but you get my point). Such as figuring out the Killer's playstyle or their loadout.

If you want to play with friends, thats fine by me. But the solo experience, the true way the game was designed around and meant to be played (dont try coming to me with that quote from that one stream about SWF being intended), is extremely fun. Sure, escape rate compared between solos and SWF is massive. Sure, you might get potatoes on your groups. Sure, you will get outplayed. Despite all that, the solo experience is a lot more enjoyable.

I consider voice communication as part of the base game extremely unnecessary. It wont kill the game for me, as you will most likely be able to disable it (and I would do it in a blink of an eye). But its value will certainly go down just because people will expect you to have it on. Who knows though? Maybe I am biased. I honestly dont even care about the gap between SWF and solos.

  • The point is that you shouldnt rely on factors different from Pharmacy itself, including other perks. In any case, Pharmacy + Botany Knowledge is way better than Ace in the Hole.

  • I would love if the medkit came with additional charges add-ons, just so it can be used to heal yourself at least twice without needing great skillchecks or Botany Knowledge.

  • The Killer is giving up two perk slots for slightly more effective cross map awareness that lasts a few seconds. If you realise they have Iron Maiden, then you can always use its several other counters (especially the close proximity one).

  • I got Adept Cannibal yesterday. It was against a smurf SWF with a No Mither guy.

  • Assuming you got 2 pips, you got all four of them, right? Did any of them DC?

  • Well, yes. Some perks arent good on every Killer. In the case of MYC, it would fall in the "Situational" category for Killers with default movement speed. However, it is strong on Killers that can zoom through the map, Hag with Mint Rag being the best example.

  • Im deciding between using my shards for unlocking Plague or Ace (just so I can use his Moonrise outfit).

  • The only one I have problems with are the "Open the Exit Gate as x Survivor" and co-op actions. Sometimes I never make it to endgame, other times I am way too far from the exit gates, and by the time I get to them, someone already opened it. The co-op ones take several games because its so situational.

The others, I dont mind. 3 generators? Maybe not in one game, but easily done in two. Unhooking, depends on the game.

And if we are going to talk about tedious rituals, lets talk about some Killer ones. For instance, Pig's requiring ambush hits. I would change it to attaching RBTs to Survivors x amount of times.

  • Myers is overrated. The only form that might be optimal is Scratched Mirror in Lery's against non-SWF. Otherwise, you can easily starve him from stalk juice and it easily becomes a simple M1 Killer. Its also worth mentioning he is a M1 Killer by default, because the time you spent stalking someone on Tier 2, you might have just used it for better purposes, like actually hitting your Survivor.

He might be fun to play as for some (not for me, personally) and have several different playstyles because of add-ons, but far from deserving the spot in the pedestal everyone places him on.
