Sadako is a very hard killer to balance especially when changed the condemned mechanic. I doubt they want to tinker with her too much since she’s already very good against newer players (similar to pinhead) as well
-
Yep map design is the crux of most balance issues. While this patch is nice it won’t make maps like garden of joy or eyrie of crows any easier to play on
-
At least Predator is still a reminder of how much better current perks are
-
If it means no more scratched mirror Myers on lery’s then count me in

Because the devs have taken away everything skilful for survivors in order to protect killer ego.
Everything left is so hard and so easy to counter its rarely bothered with. Maps are too small, tiles can no longer be chained after the first chase. It's more effective to pick a direction and run. Sabo is too hard as there are too many hooks. Flashlights got nerfed and stealth is still not an option.
The best perk combo for killer are anti gen perks and this patch changes nothing. Yet they took the worst part of dbd (the gens) and made it longer. This patch does not fix camping. 5 second bt is nothing, you will still need bt and ds got nerfed because of killer's crying. Camping got a massive buff and this does not fix bubba at all.
And you seriously saying maps are killer favoured when the last 2 have been garden of joy and eyrie of crows?

Anything is better than current Freddy. And I'm saying this as someone who has maind him since I got the game years ago.
Old Freddy definitely wasn’t good but at least he had a niche with his game slowdown and information. New Freddy is a worse Clown/Sadako with completely useless add ons and his power is in the survivors control
-
A buff so that Clown’s ammo pool is separated between his 2 bottles. He keeps 4 purple bottle and has 2 Antidotes that recharge at 1 antidote every 10 seconds

I like the game and no competitors have done a good job at trying to dethrone it (I did enjoy F13th though)
Oh and Jane

I've faced you :). Or at least someone with a very, very similar name.
You might remember a Hag with the Birch Witch skin. It was a while back (Lunar?). Still remember the game, it was a razor-close one on Asylum.

I have. Oh man. One absolute stinker where they were abusing Boil Over on IWOM just after it got buffed, and one where I gave them hatch and they cussed me out at length in postgame for playing Artist with PR+DMS.
I think I do. I was probably on my Xbox account and either playing Jeff or Jane
-
Nice! I’ve played with a couple of members here from what I remember

Little known fact - when DS was changed years ago, it was originally 3 seconds of stun. It was then buffed to 5 seconds purely to compensate for Enduring (because back then, Enduring worked on ALL stuns, including DS). Literally, that was the reason given. Enduring was nerfed soon after to only apply to pallet stuns. DS was never put back to 3 seconds.
3 seconds is the correct amount of time.
The devs has upwards of 3 years to change it back but didn’t. I always assumed it was because they were happy with 5 seconds but I guess I was wrong. Doesn’t really matter though since OTR is just a better DS now
-
@ermsy said:
Ds stun was originally 3 seconds but it got buffed because of enduring. When enduring got nerfed/changed Ds never got the stun duration reverted.
Basically it was always meant to be 3 second stun, it was an oversight to not change it back for so long.
Back then it was meant to be a 3 second stun but they had almost 4 years to revert it but didn’t choose to. The 5 seconds was a fine number and should stay

lol i love this nerfing, so we can see survivor gameplay become more variative not a boring one.
By more varied you mean OTR in every build instead of DS? Because that’s what is going to happen
-
Yeah I’m lucky that I prestiged way before the change was announced. I’ll enjoy my unique PNG image though
-
I’m more curious about how seeing the totem location is going to help when the killer is camping the totem next to the hooked survivor.
Should’ve just done bones I guess
-
They basically added a small base kit buff to anti camping but nerfed DS into the ground and made OTR the better DS. If it stacks with BT which i think it does I see literally no reason to use DS now
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/329970/why-nerf-ds-at-all
It seems the devs just want people to use Off The Record instead. 20 second longer duration, work multiple times, even during endgame, more distance, can bodyblock without going down. What possible advantage does new DS even have to OTR now.
Yeah this was clearly them just saying “We shifted the meta by making OTR the new DS with all the problems current DS has like working in endgame, don’t worry though DS sucks now”
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3018999#Comment_3018999
And OTR works off both unhooks, and, more stupidly, works during EGC.
So they 'fixed' DS, and then reintroduced the problem with OTR.
Yeah by “meta shift” they seemed to mean “make 1 perk objectively better than the other in every scenario”. Well at least new players won’t have to pay for Laurie now I guess
-
@Firellius said:
I think most people agreed that removing its use during EGC was fair enough, but prior to the announcement, most of those people also agreed to have it trigger off both unhooks, rather than just one, as compensation.
Now it got its EGC usage removed, which is fine, but then it got another nerf dumped on top of it, so now it's more situational, and worse in the more limited situation in which it occurs. OTR is going to massively outperform it until it gets nerfed to crap and we get tunnelling meta back.
Yeah I don’t see any case where DS is better than OTR now. Killer attack cooldown is 2.7 seconds and add the speed boost you can actually get more distance with OTR than DS plus it lasts for 20 seconds longer and doesn’t have the potential of missing a skill check

"at the end of the match, there’s often nothing the Killer can do to prevent a Survivor with Decisive Strike from escaping."
this statement above is from the devs and the direct reason for the change, sooo its a great change actually
What about the stun duration nerf?
-
@Babalonkie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3016543#Comment_3016543
It still gives you a second chance after being tunnelled... it just now does not guaranty that you will escape the following chase if you have no good perks or skill to back it up after you jump off the shoulders... it also help prevents organised chain stuns.
Ergo... it does exactly what it was supposed to... but no longer can be used as a team tactic.
5 seconds wasn’t always enough to guarantee an escape. Afaik a range nurse, MD ring spirit and especially blight could be back on you in like 5-10 seconds at most
Also Chain stuns are kinda a waste of the survivors time in a lot of case especially if you are using pallets after a DS stun
-
@ACleverName4Me said:
I'm just happy that it gets disable with the endgame. The stun cooldown might meet in the middle for a 4 second stun which might be the sweet spot. Maybe they did this so someone isn't able to blind the killer during the stun as easy.
3 seconds is still more than enough time to blind the killer. The problem is you basically can’t get distance anymore especially against certain killers making it pretty useless at its job
-
@RenRen said:
I agree with the stun change being dumb but the endgame deactivation is fair. There is literally nothing you can do against a ds at endgame. Very similar to the upcoming change of BT and basegame change.
Oh yeah the endgame change is great. All this stun change does is encourage killers to eat through DS because there’s basically no downside to doing so
-
@Akumakaji said:
As a killer main I must agree. At the moment, when I suspect a survivor to be having DS, but I want them out for whatever reason (most likely because they tilted me in some way ^^"), I just think "whatever, I will just eat that DS and then hunt them down". With the duration nerfed to 3s? Thats basically a no-brainer! And no-brainers are seldom good for a game of options.
Yeah unless you are on a very pallet heavy map the 3 seconds might not be enough to even get to another loop
-
@Alphasoul05 said:
Second chance perk layering would be my guess. Maybe they dislike that an unhooked survivor has access to the BT effect that already grants you the ability to get to a safe loop, on top of going down and having another second chance perk that can save you. All of which is a little bit silly because it implies you are tunneling and maybe should eat those perks in layers.
I don't see the point in taking the most extreme, broken example you can give in the game, which is going to be rare, and using it as your reasoning for why it isn't okay
Even against basic killers like wraith or clown the distance you’ll be getting will be almost negligible especially on certain maps that have long distances between loops
-
@Babalonkie said:
Simple... Second chance perks are becoming second chance ONLY perks... meaning intentional usage outside of intended purpose are going to get removed... quite simple really.
No more using Dead Hard to gain distance.
No more using DS to stun a killer in endgame rather than preventing tunnelling midgame.
If you have been excessively using a perk with your SWF friends outside of it's intended usage... YOU are to blame for the nerfs.
As someone who never liked DH or DS as a survivor and a killer who always experienced the perks being purely used to work in endgame with SWF's... i like the changes.... A LOT.
People moaning about the changes are the people who abused the perks... otherwise there is nothing to moan about 🤣
The problem wasn’t the endgame change I actually love that. The issue is making the stun itself much less valuable to a point where certain killers will essentially ignore the whole perk

Agreed 4s would be much better. The first thing I thought is "Well, another Nurse/Blight buff since they can just immediately jump behind the surv after eating the DS"
From this to the knockout buff to the lowered hit speed boost nurse is looking even better after this update. They really need to get onto her sooner rather than later
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
I just read through the changes and I'm actually shocked. They've absolutely nerfed some of these perks into oblivion #########
Yeah I’m all, for shaking up the meta but DS was a pretty healthy perk and the devs even said they liked the current iteration so why nerf it to the ground?

Yeah we’ll just have to wait. I personally don’t like the idea though as it could make tracking on certain maps way too hard
-
The fading is nice but the sporadic scratch marks might be easier to track similar to how predator makes scratch marks harder to track

It was useful on all killers for me because I cant hear very well
That’s a fair point actually. I personally don’t use it but I can see why you you would. As for IW I seriously doubt anyone will use it after this change (except maybe with No mither but that’s a stretch)
-

Imo iron will was fine, stridor just should never got nerfed imo. If iron will was too good for some people (like me who cant hear #########) they had the option of using a perk for it.
Now iron will is completely dead.
Stridor imo needed the complete rework since it was essentially just a hard counter to 1 perk that was only useful on 1 killer.
-
Honestly I doubt BT will be ran any less. 5 seconds and 7% haste isn’t going to stop anyone especially a strong killer like blight and spirit
-
Yeah I was actually starting to like guardian a bit more now but BT is now objectively better
-
While I hate current IW this was by far the laziest way to nerf this. They should have had a 25 second timer that resets whenever you are healed

Oh, he would only have 2. Missed that.
Yeah, that seems pretty decent. I want to start learning him and his throws, but atm I am really sticked onto Legion 😅
Fair enough. Legion is actually pretty fun after the buffs tbh
-
@MrDardon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3014082#Comment_3014082
So 40 seconds for 4?
Well he’d only have 2 and they be separated from his tonic so it wouldn’t eat into his main ammo pool. It would be a pretty nice buff since he’d have to reload about half as much as he does now
-
@MrDardon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3014078#Comment_3014078
Would it start reloading as soon as one Antidote is thrown or once all 4 are thrown? Cuz I'd imagine there are situations where you would need more than 1, reloading for 3 seconds and having all 4 again.
Making it passive and only once all are thrown would be kind of a nerf.
Ideally he would have 2 that recharge at 1 antidote every 10 seconds. So if you use 1 then it would immediately go on cooldown like a blight token
-
@MrDardon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3013371#Comment_3013371
Would you need to reload twice? Per bottle or would one reload, reload both?
Your reload would restore your 4 tonics and your antidote would be on a recharge similar to spirit’s phase except only 10 seconds. You can’t manually reload the antidote it’s just passive
-
Judging by how broken zombie AI is I don’t really want it on any other killers. Plus it’s completely out of the killers control how effective they are
-
I would normally hoard them (Still have 96 and 100 on clown and Jane from last year) but I started my PC account recently so I’ve been using them to grind faster
-
All clown needs imo is for his antidote ammo to be separate from his tonic. I’d put the antidote on a 10 second cooldown while his tonic has the traditional reload
-

Playing against a Nurse is like playing against any other killer, on a map that is entirely a dead zone.
yeah pretty much. But apparently her being hard (she really isn’t that hard to learn tbh) is enough to justify her breaking the game

Nurse does objectively ignore game mechanics though. Not all but windows and pallets are all but useless against her
-
It would be nice to see previous event tomes return every so often as a throwback style event. For honor does this and it’s nice for people who may have missed out
-
I don’t see a point personally. The mobile game for mobile devices makes more sense and would save the devs a lot of resources trying to make an iPad port
-
Speed demon Clown using devour hope, play with your food and Noed alongside the antidote with both duration add ons for insane speed
-
Better that than nothing tbh. Only issue I’ll have is the “look at how bad matchmaking is” posts
-
I can’t blame them for not wanting to making custom masks for 40+ characters. I like how these more detailed ones turned out though especially Slinger and huntress even if I play neither of them
