Because that wouldn't solve the problem of the grind growing exponentially. The new system does. Right now when a new character comes out you have to unlock their teachables, unlock every perk on that character and then unlock every new perk on every other character. This would be reduced if you removed all perk tiers but i don't believe it would reduce it as much. With the new system you just have to prestige 3 that character and that's it. It means the grind is the same with every new chapter release.
But what if you only play like 3 survivors and about 5 killers like most? In that case getting them on everyone means nothing

Keep the new system as it, but either give 2X bp, or make everything half as much, and for godsakes remove the 50K prestige "tax"
There, fixed it LOL
That could work too. I just don’t like how little this change actually impacts the grind

We already got our yearly cosmetic remember?

Seems we’re both back here I guess.
Can’t say much has changed for the better but this anniversary event was actually very good so I’m back for now

Because BHVR isn't a fan of easy solutions
Apparently not. I literally see no issues coming from doing this and it would’ve taken less development time I’d bet
-
I’ve always prefer a fun but weak killer compared to a strong but boring one. Old Freddy was definitely weak but did everything a licensed character was supposed to do by perfectly encapsulating 2010 Freddy as a character. Honestly it’s a shame we’ll never be able to play him again
Literally just bring him back with the teleport and some QOL changes (Like incapacitated while in dream transition) and add a cap of 60% generator debuff speed so he doesn’t get out of hand with pentimento and thana.
-
I used to be like 80% survivor but since moving to PC it’s basically 50/50. I just play whichever has better queues for the most part

Because uhhhhhhhhhhh.
Thing is if I want to get let’s say the 3 new perks on my main killer and survivor removing perk tiersends up being less expensive and time consuming. This change only benefits people who play a lot of different killers and survivors which is a smaller chunk of the playerbase I’d guess
-
Because I need 210 yellow toolboxes because……..
-
The devs have said they don’t want another legacy but it’s not like limited cosmetics are gone anyway (Prime gaming skins for example). This would be a cool reward imo

Feng, Nea, Claudette and Steve from my experience

Here is a comprehensive list of successful tactics against Nurse:
You forgot giving up on hook

For the players that can't git gud.
How does one git gud against nurse. Any examples?
-
Clown is overweight, A smoker, An alcoholic and also tests tonics and poison basically. Pretty unhealthy all things considered
-
Started on my new PC account recently and have been having tons of fun with Pinhead. He might be my new main but I’m not sure if I can give up Clown
Also I used to be a Kate main since curtain call was my first chapter I bought. Now I main Jane instead because I like her cosmetics more

I did wonder if we might see it reskinned for the new Resident Evil chapter.
I for one doubt it but who knows. Pretty sure that’s when the RPD rework will come out so I doubt they’ll do 2 maps

Yes, especially Fixated was considered a Learning Tool by the community so that Survivors can understand Scratchmarks. However, a Learning Tool does not make much sense when it is behind a paywall (and a pretty expensive one as well, since the ST-Chapter was more expensive than regular chapters because of the two Survivors).
Honestly all of them are great new player perks imo (Probably intentional since ST would bring in a lot of new players)
Surge is a simple and strong regression option
Inner strength encourages secondary objectives to prevent Noed and rewards doing so with healing
Cameraderie counters camping (prevalent in lower ranks)
Babysitter helps the unhooked survivor escape tunnellers
Better together helps with gen coordination and has a mini kindred added on
Second wind is a helpful anti tunnel tool that rewards healing others
Mindbreaker encourages breaking chase to find better opportunities
Cruel confinement helps newer killers get downs when gens are completed
All of these were clearly made to help new players in various ways so having them in the base game is greatly beneficial
-
I’m going to be killed for this but I’d prefer if ST stayed out. Having the 9 perks as basic ones is great for new players and Hawkins was an awful map
Only thing I miss is demo but I still see him every so often
-
Same goes for slinger honestly. He has a weaker chase power than artist and somehow moves slower while also having the same size TR

Only big nerf he really needed was a cooldown on canceling his ADS similiar to Huntress or Pyramid Head
Yeah that’s all he needed imo. His instant ADS while somewhat annoying was fine imo
-
Is that supposed to be an issue?
-
That’s so nice to hear! I feel like a lot people forget how simple just having a certain license can be to a person’s experience of DBD
-
The only way to really make other killers stronger is to nerf her though. Any general killer buffs or new strong perks (Satrstruck is a great example) end up being way too good on her

5 seconds was only added because Enduring affected it. They did say that they would revert it should they remove that ability of Enduring. They did the latter, but broke the promise on the former. Now they finally came through.
@OP Absolutely not. DS is and always has been a plague to this game. If a majority of my fellow survivor players lament that Nurse is a mistake, I say DS is a mistake.
Difference between nurse and DS is that one was actually reworked into a good state. Nurse was nerfed a lot but they never fixed the core issue she has
-
Just revert to 5 seconds and call it a day. Literally no reason to nerf that part of it
-
Yeah he literally requires way more skill than nurse yet provides 1/10th of the reward
He never needed a nerf at all imo
-
Because boons as a whole are weak and barring COH requires the killer to be close to get value

Doesnt stack out stop working when it's maxed out on stacks?
It does but you’ll be using stacks pretty regularly so it will generally be counting down. Still no reason to not have accessibility options for hard of hearing players
-
Best advice I can give is to run stake out or premonition. Stake out gives a visual indication if you are in TR and premonition still works through walls
But yeah the devs should add a visual heartbeat like dbd mobile has imo
-
Garden of joy and eyrie of crows show that even after 6 years the devs don’t have grasp of map design. This isn’t an RNG thing either the main building has 3 guarded god windows
-
No point in only playing one side imo. It just gets frustrating quickly without having a change of pace
-
@Huge_Bush said:
No, that’s Sadako. She’s on strike until she gets buffed and is refusing to leave the basement until then. The entity just forced her to wear that getup.
Nah it’s obviously the rest of maurice’s body. Only his head was taken by dredge
-
So getting rid of looping will stop every single killer from camping. I don’t see any flaw in this plan /s
-
All Gearhead needed was it basic hit requirement removed and a longer duration. The whole aura thing doesn’t fit it’s idea as a perk and having them hit great skill checks is rarer than a good one (and if they suspect Gearhead is in play they can just go for good checks
-
There’s 2 ways BHVR can go about this
- Keep her power but make it even weaker
- Completely rework her
My go to is option 2 since after more balance changes to other things option 1 will end up just as strong as she was before
-
New DS against clown assuming he throws a bottle at his feet and has flask of bleach and ether 15vol%. The survivor will literally get no distance
-
I run devour hope occasionally since it can win you the game easily if it’s in the right location. Otherwise most hexes are too weak
-
Playing billy atm so my chaser emblem is giving me pure pain

I don’t think so because he wouldn’t be able to attack them if they are awake.
I guess so. If that’s the case he’d probably end up being a better sadako basically
-
Probably too strong if he could manually put you asleep. He’d basically be clown with a teleport, info and 50% slowdown
-

Love to face: Stealthy Myers that guy makes me jump more than he should.
Hate to face: Bubba or Billy, only because they spam their chainsaws the whole match.
Honorable mention goes to The Dredge because he's freaky and it's kind of funny when he grabs someone out of a locker.
How can you spam you chainsaw as billy when there’s a system in place that punishes him for doing so?
-
Most fun: Hillbilly or huntress are both strong, require skill and have potential for counterplay yet also can end the game in a few survivor misplays
Least fun: Nurse because she basically ignores DBD and trickster because his counterplay is entirely dependent on what map you are on
-
- Fov slider up to 100 degrees (Shadowborn obviously needs a rework after this)
- A way to auto spend BP if you just want teachables (or prestige with the new system)
- Windows of opportunity and Zanshin tactics become base game perks to help new players (Oni gets deerstalker and Kate gets Hope as teachables to replace them)
-

They reworked the nurse,
you have to wait 5 hours for your blinks to recharge...
It’s not that long and there are add ons to basically remove it. It was a band aid fix that only made her more unforgiving to new players and basically the same to experienced ones
-
This doesn’t really fix the issue. A bubba will still be able to get 1 kill without the survivors have any option to save them which is what we should be trying to fix
-

and yet trapper and wraith are old too, and they are literally dead, barely anyone plays them, she and hilly are the only old killers that people still play even huntress is rare these days
Huntress is in the top echelon of killers played. Trapper and wraith are old hence why they need a rework too (to a lesser extent though since their powers don’t fundamentally break the game.
Wraith is also the most played killer afaik
-
Nurse needs to be reworked so that killer can be balanced. She is old design that hasn’t caught up with new DBD similar to how old object of obsession or DS was. Difference is those have been changed
-
It specifically says search the chest so no you have to open it
-
I always struggle to kill Jeff and Jane players because I main them. I also struggle to kill tapp players because I swear they are god loopers 90% of the time
