Nurse.. overpowered? Not by any means. Did you miss the graph above your comment, showing official data that she has the lowest kill rate for one of the highest picked killers? Sounds more likely to me that she reveals the skill issues for both roles.
But y’all keep holding W and predropping; if you don’t point and hook suicide or DC first.
Also, I could argue that those two killers “break” DbD in their own ways. Hillbilly moves base speed, yet gets a speed increasing one-shot power that can also break pallets. On top of that, it gives him extremely high map mobility - greater than Nurse. Huntress can ranged camp (get hits and downs while camping or protect the hook from afar) and also get other ranged hits and downs out in the open. Nurse can’t do those things!
You ready to nerf them into oblivion too?
Hillbilly and huntress both have to play around windows and pallets nurse doesn’t it’s that simple really. Huntress has to reload and hillbilly has an overheat system. Billy is punished much more a mistake and can’t snowball as effectively due to this mechanic. Huntress may have to leave chase to reload which can be a huge punishment compared to nurse fatigue + Cooldown (Which can be basically negated by add ons anyway)
Stats mean nothing, otherwise Pinhead is the best killer in the game and Freddy is actually decent which are both objectively wrong statements
Sure nurse can’t instadown or get hits from range but what she can do is get a hit in a chase regardless of what the survivors do to try and counter it. No other killer in the game can do such a thing. Combine this already insane ability with perks and add ons and it’s just plain overpowered

In the current state of the game, it wouldnt. Sadly, BHVR current vision is to favorise Casual & New Players experience to optimize their retention and cosmetics sells. On the opposite, "serious" games such like LOL balance stuff around high MMR and Pro Play. See the difference ? In DBD there is no rules, everything is mixed.
I think the problem (beside the asymmetrical nature of the game) is having so much release to fit an agenda. BHVR don't even care about balance, they just try to reduce the gap so it's "Kind of balanced" so players keep playing, strictly depending on statistics.
Maps arent balanced, tiles spawn and RNG elements arent balanced. The more years pass, the more it's a mess. We just have to accept this game is a goofy party game that FOR NOW is not balanced nor competitive, in a serious way.
Optimally, everything should have to be constantly updated, but I doubt that's the vision of BHVR. Look at Myers, Freddy... So much outdated perks and addons that serve absolutely no purpose... A broken MatchMaking with zero transparency. No tutorial or tools to help new players to understand the basics of the game and get better, tons of exploits in the game, cheaters & hackers...
There is so much more to do, than talking about "NuRsE iS Op OmG NeRf". Tho, I hope the 6.1 type of work becomes more recurrent.
Nurse, like Blight, is a treasure that brings something new mechanically. Look at Sadako/Dredge/Freddy - Myers/Ghostface - Deathslinger/Huntress/Nemesis ... Only derivative products of each other.
In terms of killer balance nurse is currently by far the biggest issue. I do agree that maps should be prioritised at the moment though

@Jago said:
On the contrary she has the most unique power in the game.
Devs are simply afraid to bring more killer of her class, which is a mistake : it would be easier to balance.
How would it be easier to balance around killers like nurse than killers like huntress or demo?
-
@BringShaggytoDBD said:
Most people who complain about Nurse have never tried playing as her. I would love to see gameplay of you playing as Nurse.
I admit going against a decent Nurse can be frustrating, but it takes a lot of time and skill to master her.
How does that excuse her being overpowered? Billy and huntress take equal if not more skill to master yet can’t break the fundamentals of dbd like nurse does
-
Distortion in D is honestly a crime. That perk is insanely good now

Agi Starstruck Nurse is pretty meta, and yes Nurse needs some toning down.
However, those Legions aren't all that strong - they are just tedious. It's the killer equivalent of a double locker flashlight sabo breakout BO squad. You can still beat them, but the game just takes twice as long.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092961#Comment_3092961
Yeah. It's going to take a while for those survivors to either adapt or quit, right now it's a giant pile of pout.
Definitely forever legion isn’t particularly strong especially against competent survivors but it’s absolute hell to play against and with a 3 gen is basically unwinnable

Not really. I was escaping...maybe half the time before the patch.
I'm escaping about the same now EXCEPT in games where someone is DCing/suiciding, which does actually seem to be more common now?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092775#Comment_3092775
Are you losing because killers are stronger, or because your allies are having a sulk?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092828#Comment_3092828
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092824#Comment_3092824
I think a lot of people got slightly inflated MMRs due to relying on Dead Hard, and it will take a while to find their new spot.
Also, yes - people are having a big ol' sulk right now, so I'm seeing maybe 30% more AFKs and first hook suicides.
I’ve actually had very few teammates who DC or throw the game. Mostly been getting legions and nurse running 4 slowdown and agi/starstruck respectively
-
Yeah solo queue just kinda sucks right now. I’d actually rather wait the 10 minutes for killer because it’s just more fun
-
Father Campbell’s chapel is basically perfect except for the 1 god window that can spawn in the main building. Otherwise it’s a perfect size and doesn’t have insane tile spawns
-
I do lose a lot more. I don’t really care about it tbh but there’s no doubt that killers are getting more kills on average
-
My full aura clown build begs to differ. You can’t lose when you can’t even play him
-
While he was kinda terrible back then (Just due to how strong maps and Survivors were) I feel like old Freddy would have a place in modern DBD
He’d be a less mobile but more info/slowdown oriented sadako basically
-
I’d be cool with it. Gives the survivor so leeway without making it 5 seconds again (Though that would be the simpler change imo)

I feel for you @Phasmamain. I couldn’t tell you how heartbroken I’d be if I saw my baby killswitched, so the fact y’all have to go through it, my condolences ❤️
I’ll see how long I last playing Freddy and pinhead but it won’t be easy. Better this than a bunch of clowns exploiting the bug though
-
Well looks like I’m not play killer for the next while

Greed makes Patrick do weird things like like completely changing the game.
Tbf Patrick isn’t the one behind this (At least I doubt it). The art and map design team would be the ones making these changes
-
Never understood why people don’t let other do glyphs. I’ll always especially if it’s a green one
-
I’d love for a full rework to happen but knowing that it won’t these changes are good
-
Only for the time the gen is highlighted

@Tsulan said:
The issue is, how do you buff solo queue to SWF levels, without also buffing SWF? Every attempt to do so in the past. Has also buffed SWF.
Only way to bring both on the same level, is something the community is against: ingame voice chat.
We’re better off with a pinging system similar to apex or VHS. Gives good info but doesn’t force people to use voice chat to play optimally
With how bad this community is I know I wouldn’t use voice chat in 90% of my matches which would lead to people annoyed at others for not using it. The ping system is easy to use and doesn’t force you to talk with randoms
-
Dredge is one of the killers of all time
-
With DS being used like 1% of matches Ebony mori’s actually hurt the killer since they can’t get hook related perks and might even take longer than hooking depending on mori length
-
Those are all great changes. I would add that STBFL caps at 6 instead of 8 stacks meaning it still stays 40% maximum cooldown reduction.
Id probably reduce eruption’s incapacitated to 20 seconds as well. 25 feels a bit too high
-
Either and anti tunnel feature or an incentive not to tunnel. Also nurse changes

I played today a game againts Demo who got Azarov map where there is the one middle section and then the two main parts where you can easy 3-gen. Quess what, the Demo had full build around just kicking gens. He had Eruption, Overcharge, Jolt and I don't know what was the last one. He also had basamenet as well. So someone got downed there and he could proxi camp them and he always try to push me off a gen. If I reached a 25% of a gen, I got Jolted, then Eruptioned on top of that, then I had to run a bit and then he regress it also with overcharge. I think they overbuffed some of these perks, at least when you combine them together, it's a mission impossible: Generator edition.
Tbf though this was already insanely strong before the update. It’s just gotten slightly worse depending on the build being used
-
Yeah especially on suffocation pit and asarov’s this is a huge issue. Basically a guaranteed win for the killer if gens spawn right which they generally do
-
Ever since COH especially they’re very scared of similar backlash to what that perk got
-
The music team have never missed a beat tbh (I did that on purpose). Each chapter’s music has been amazing and most chase themes are really cool and fitting for their killer
-
“Tunnelling is only an issue in low MMR games”
At what MMR does tunnelling not happen?
-
I’d love for the animation to actually match the effect length. It just looks awkward now
-
It’s not a fun thing to deal with no doubt. My main issue is just how long it can last though.
-
It’s kinda needed for hook trading though.
-
Cause me using DS was bullying the killer apparently?
Anyway most survivors are pissed because solo Q sucks at the moment and the devs have no immediate plans to change it
-
I've always preferred a build like that to a passive slowdown build. Feels more like a constant back and forth then a constant slog through gens like with thana pentimento
-
It's probably inflated due to DC's and suicides but I'd say it will balance around 60-70% depending on killer
-
@Bwsted said:
This is more of an add-on specific strategy, not an Onryo playstyle.
I'd consider add ons a killer playstyle. Basement trapper is a playstyle that relies on add ons to be played optimally for example
-
@Mavericks said:
You can also take Iridescent Videotape, this tactic works better with this addon
Definitely though iri add ons might have been banned in this tournament

All Onre play like this, the rest whine that the killer is weak. But if you have bad TV spawns and a large map, then this strategy does not work well
No sadako I fought has actually used this strategy. Especially moonwalking in chase to get condemned up faster
-
Probably too strong. Plague has to pick up her fountain from set locations while Oni can do it wherever he wants. He can also get to the location much quicker than plague can leaving no room to hide
-
Yeah people always like to say “DBD isn’t a horror game anymore” and I feel like most of that has to do with the artstyle in the maps. Fog is all but gone and the game is generally very bright now.

I used Lucky break all the time before the patch and found it super effective. People sleep on overzealous because gens are like 12% longer and overzealous removes 8% if not a hex. This one is probably just me but I've gotten so much value out of exponential because most killers assume it's CoH and they will ignore it if going for the slug straight into a chase. You also have to consider that any survivor perk can be brought into a match by 4 people where the killer is only 1.
Off topic can we finally cap regression perks so they can be balanced properly because you have to balance them as if all 4 perk slot could have regression perks.
Overzealous requires you to spend time cleansing a totem to get the boost and goes away immediately when getting hit. It’s not worth the slot especially compared to fast track or prove thyself.
Exponential is just to situational to bother with considering you have to set it up before and hope the killer doesn’t snuff it before you get up. Even in an anti slug build just bring souls guard, unbreakable or even no mither tbh

Do what? You can tell which is a scourge hook and what's not. Seriously, just look at it. It has a bunch of white overgrowth on it. It doesn't glow like for Killer, but you can tell just by looking at it. "Already gotten insane value." That hardly happens unless you're all hook swarming and continuously getting plopped on the same hook. Not only do Scourge Hooks require you play well as a killer and down people, it also it totally RNG if one is even nearby. Then add the fact they can be Sabotaged. You are VASTLY overstating.
Killer camping with Deadlock? Maybe move to another Gen instead of sitting in some grass and moaning about it? Then the Killer has to worry about two gens instead of just the one.
Also, you want to talk about useless perks? Literally every single Killer has at least 1 if not more that's useless or so niche they only work "decent" for one killer.
Working decent for 1 killer is better than the garbage survivors get the majority of the time
Boon: Dark theory, self preservation, corrective action, Rookie spirit, Resurgance, Clairvoyance, red herring, power struggle, counterforce, guardian and visionary all just either suck or are outclassed majorly by other perks. Hell some of these have even been buffed since release and are still terrible.

@The_BiggCheeze said:
Any strong survivor perk can be easily multiplied by 4. They're not scared of making strong survivor perks, it's that they really can't without it being broken or unfun.
I’m talking strong here not overpowered. Admittedly it’s very hard but it has been done before with the likes of exhaustion perks, Prove thyself, BT and kindred all being strong perks that aren’t too strong when stacked

The narrative that lucky break was weak before this update is funny now it's pretty nuts
I meant it’s initial launch where it only blocked blood pools for 180 seconds without a way to regain time. Literally no one used that version
-
@Emeal said:
cough Circle of Healing, its not the Devs fault you dont use it. Its great.
I literally mentioned that as the one exception to the rule. It’s an amazing healing tool and actually quite balanced now as the time it takes to set up can backfired if it’s placed badly
-
@Gamedozer7 said:
They released plenty of strong perks the problem was when you compared them to the metz perks they weren't on that level of broken or useful in ever situation.
That would be like killers saying that we haven't gotten any strong killers but using nurse as the comparison point. Like if they aren't as strong as her or better they are weak. Which isn't the case because blight and spirit are considered to be strong.
The meta is weaker now without question but most of these newer survivor perks won’t be used. I can see a case for overcome, COH and parental guidance but nothing else really

Bird Lady? A-tier killer who's getting destroyed by survivors Shift+W buttons? Hmm... K.
(Oh boy, what have I done, I shouldn't say that...)
Common consensus of the community is that artist is an A tier killer. She 115% with insane zoning and anti loop potential. She also has great synergy with many perks like DMS, PR, I’m all ears and Lethal pursuer.
Holding W does counter her but keep in mind that got nerfed pretty hugely this patch. Alongside longer gens she dominates most matches now from my experience with and against her
-
@realflashboss said:
DH wasnt even a game breaking perk. Sacrifices have always outnumbered escapes in this game by well over 50% so its never been balanced.
I would be more than happy with the killer buff patches if camping and tunneling was addressed. To me thats the real issue thats always ruined most games and with this patch its even worse on top of all the buffs.
If the buffs were in place and the camping and tunneling were mechanically addressed out the game then hell, it might even be ok to buff killer further- i dont know.
Ultimately the band aid of perks like off the record etc. Dont really help with anything but delaying the innetivable tunnel which is particularly bad with gen speed now.
Address camping and tunneling so it cant happen then balance around that and it would be fair and more importantly - FUN.
Disagree with dead hard but the rest is spot on. Tunnelling and camping is something they’ll have to address soon because it is way to easier to do without punishment now
