Just a heads up, all achievements regarding him seem to be bugged, making them unobtainable. I already reported this.

Oh what system? I just got Adept Cenobite on Steam.

  • I just played in the Gideon Meat Plant and was able to finish a match as Pinhead. One of the maps I received the error on on was also the swamp.

I just played a match as him. He’s not bad but needs a lot of practice and learning. Main thing is though the chain is tough to control but it’s not as bad as everyone made it out to be. Yes he’ll need some tweaks but he’s pretty good

It's feels somewhat the same as as The Oni Demon Dash. To me Demon Dash feels easier to turn however.

After reinstalling the game I saw my fps improve but it is still nowhere near the previous performance; I can now hit my 90 fps cap at 1440p but 4k is still a no go. I would assume this is really frustrating for people who don't have as powerful of a pc and I hope they fix it quick.

I'm curious why would you want to run at 90 fps?

  • I have had it happen both times I have played as the Cenobite. I wonder if it is happening when playing any other killer.

  • Happened to me right after a survivor appeared to disconnect. I'm not sure if they actually disconnected though or they got the same message on their end.

I could see them dodging SWF groups. While the can be organized they can be toxic towards solo players or leave them to fend for themselves.

Interestingly(and hysterically sometimes) I have seen SWF groups do things that resulted in them all getting sacrificed and resulting in the solo survivor as the only one left. Trying to body block a killer that is using Starstruck from hooking someone being the most frequent.

Probably pc players dodging console ones. I might be wrong.

PC players don't have to dodge lobby to not be matched with those on consoles. They cazn just disable cross play and those on PC won't get matched with those on console.

Yes everyone, today is the day! The day that one or all of these things will happen:

    • Game-breaking bugs, as freshly delivered by BHVR's development team in haste of releasing this Paragraph.
    • An extremely weak Killer with no good Perks and no value to add to this game.
    • A new matchmaking rating system (MMR) that is easily exploitable or downright awful to play in despite the lie that we were told that it was "great".
    • Spirit getting shadow nerfed again.
    • Pyramid Head's ass is flat again.

Place your bets, everyone! What shall it be?

MMR isn't easily exploitable. I t is replacing something that is easily exploitable.

Lol I’m talking about 4man swf either ditching there friends or getting lucky with a chest key kinda scenarios solos would be moried

SWF frequently point their fingers to solo que survivors when they fail. Even when it is obvious that the reason the didn't escape is because of their own actions.

Like when several of them try and block the killer from hooking a survivor. They all end up in a dying state because the killer was using Starstruck. The only one left standing is the solo survivor due to them being off working on a generator at the time. How dare the survivor work on a generator while they body block right?

    Flawed logic.

The way to escape as Survivor:

    • Do 5 Generators
    • Open the Exit Gates

And thats it. IF the Killer has NOED and I die because of it, it is whatever. But if I run around and do Totems (or just look for them to memorize their locations) I do nothing to fulfill the conditions to escape. I just waste time, I am basically a second Killer at this point.

And yes, it might not be possible to get all Gens done. This can happen if the Killer applies pressure. However, it is still what has to be done to escape. It is more likely to not get all Gens done if Survivors waste their time doing Totems.

Regarding chests - yes, those are a waste of time. I never said anything else, since the Toolbox-Nerf it is only really beneficial to open Chests if you REALLY need a Medkit or are REALLY hoping for a Key. Flashlights are meh, Toolboxes are useless (even the best Toolbox cannot compensate the time wasted for searching the Chest).

I will ignore the Lockers and Pallets. This is just a bait at this point.

You failed to mention one of the conditions to escape and that is to survive. The steps necessary to do that fall on the survivor and not on the killer. That is why they are called survivors.

One of those steps may entail the need to cleanse totems. Those who are working on totems are not doing nothing. They are trying to survive so they can escape. The same can't be said of those who only work on generators. Gen rushers just want matches handed them on a silver platter. They want the prize without actually working for it.

From time to time I use NOED, No Way Out and Blood Warden on purpose and let the survivors complete the generators. I hook one or two of them and might even sacrifice one. Once the generators are done then I do what I can to sacrifice the rest of them. it's a great tactic to use against gen rushers and it pretty effective. I frequently end the match having sacrificed three survivors and many times all 4. If the totems are all cleansed and NOED doesn't activate frequently at least two escape.

Doing it in that manner doesn't make me a inexperienced killer. Devious sure however not inexperienced.

  • Unless someone is exploiting, trying to lead me to other survivor and so forth I generally won't tunnel them unless they start doing generators instead of removing the trap.

If I accidently put one in a deadly state right after they get unhooked while trying to get the one unhooking I will either just leave them their for someone to heal or if they are about to bleed out or none of the survivors have come to heal them then I will pick them up and let them wiggle free then move on to another survivor.

They want to play also and I hate it when it happens to me when I am playing as a survivor.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Every second you are searching for Dull Totems, you are not on a Gen. And searching and cleansing Dull Totems does exactly nothing to win the game for you. In fact, it can even lose you the game, because while you do nothing but searching for Totems, your team might be dying and not having any pressure at all, because at least one person is running around doing "nothing".

Just for the chance that the Killer might have NOED. It is wasted time if he does not have it. And also wasted time if you dont complete all Generators (most likely because players are not efficient aka working on Gens).

Let alone, if you cleanse 1 Totem, you did exactly nothing to prevent NOED. Even if you cleansed 4 Totems, you did not prevent NOED, it is only prevented when you know that 5 Totems are cleansed. (And if 4 Totems are cleansed, you can be sure that the last Totem is the most hidden thing in the game...)

You don't find escaping from a match one of the ways to win?

If you get sacrificed by a killer using NOED then you don't escape. How to you prevent the possibility of that from happening? You cleanse totems. So how did you come to the conclusion that it does nothing to help you escape?

As for what might or might not happen. You might not get all the generators done. Why should you try and repair them then since if you won't be escaping unless you use the hatch. Why should you open chests? They might not having anything useful in which case you just wasted time opening it. Then their are lockers and pallets. You don't know if they will be effective in helping you so why use them?

You still get stunned by blastmine, though. And flashbangs are pretty sus. I mean, I guess I am glad I have Lightborn when they use them, but I do not think it is worth running Lightborn for them specifically. Usually flashlight abusers love those perks, though, so Lightborn gets its value.

Even with the the stun from Blast Mine the survivor is still highlighted for a brief time. If I survivor uses either of the other two against a killer with Lightborne it works in the killers favor.

  • Before the Resident Evil DLC I would only bring Lightborne if I saw a survivor had a flashlight. Now I usually bring it every time. Not only does it make the flashlights, Blast Mine and Flashbang pretty much useless it also it makes it easier to track down the survivors who use any of those for short time.

  • I like the map the way it is. It's maze like and unique compared to the other maps. I like mazes.

I think they should implement the one from Kubricks version of The Shinning. The one with Jack Nicholson.

  • I liked it better when it was on as both survivor and killer.

  • I would say more like 9 and 10 do this. It's the killer that those who aren't good at catching survivors in a chase use. Or it seems like it at least.

If you bring Starstruck, no Survivor will start to bodyblock, lol. Regardless if they are an SWF or not.

And I have blocked with other Survivors while playing completely Solo. Solos can also have awareness.

You would think they would be smart enough when the exposed timer starts on their screen. Their are some that still try it trust me.

Solo survivors can also body block at hooks. I've done it before with other solos to save someone from their last hook.

I'm referring to when multiple survivors doing it. Solo ones are easy to deal with. In most matches I bring Starstruck so one survivor isn't much of a threat.

  • @Crowman said:

You are giving yourself longer queue by constantly dodging lobbies and requeuing.

Blaming your losses on SWF just shows that you aren't as good as you think you are.

Losing to a SWF doesn't automatically mean they are better than the killer. 3 survivors grouping around a hook to block a killer from hooking someone isn't a sign of skill. It's those ones that cause killers to dodge in lobby.

If the match has begun Immature killers just disconnect. The rest should just either just ignore the survivors and go do something else until the match is over or what I do is just put them in a dying and leave all 4 of them there until they bleed out.

Wonder if it was your group I played a match against as the Trapper yesterday. They were pretty funny. 3 of them ran into the same trap over a period of around 2 minutes. :P

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

So, you want to play the game just do dodge Lobbies? Sounds like fun.

That's not what the OP said.

  • I use Lightborne and Starstruck.

Once a gate is open unless I am likely to get a survivor I just stop where I am. I might go look around the map. I was reading the newspaper headlines on the inside of the school bus in Autohaven Wreckyard once just to do something while EGC was going.

Also don't open end game chat.

Ummm... this didn't used to be an issue... If you were in a lobby and steam did maintaince you would be able to complete the match but after the match you would be kicked. This was a change them made within the last two years.... So yeah its there fault

The Steam server reset happens every Tuesday around 7 pm Eastern. It will kick you off even if you are in a match. It has been this way for a while now. If you play a match during that time then you are risking getting the 5 minute ban. (Possibly longer if you have connection issues or rage quit).

Same thing if you exit Steam while Dead By Daylight is running it will shut down Dead Bay Daylight also once again even if you are in a match.

The server reset is on Steams end so no it isn't BHVR fault.

  • @CornHub said:

Yes we do, I played with someone who walked through the exit gates & left 2 minutes into the game.

I had someone just vanish shortly after being unhooked. Only 1 generator had been done and all 4 survivors were still alive.

I saw the survivor moving really fast across the map and started recording the match. I grabbed them off a generator the survivor was working on. I doubt I would have been able to hook them if I hadn't hooked them.

Almost immediately after the survivor was unhooked the status info on the lower right showed they had escaped through either the exit gates or the hatch. The survivor however could be seen running really fast from me for several seconds before they disappeared right in front of me. I have never seen anything like it before.

Below is the video. Curious if you or anyone else have seen anything like this before.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nF0IQT9d_xQ

  • NOED is fine the way it is. it is easy to counter and make the perk totally useless to the killer. Especially if all 4 survivors are working on totems.

If the survivors try and speed through the match by only doing generators and get caught by NOED they have no one to blame but themselves.

  • Ranks don't seem to mean much skill wise. Many times I've seen players with green ranks do better than those with purple or red.

in order for a bot of this nature to be able to compete it has to have your location all the time. so that it can path to you.

Not necessarily. It could run as a separate program or even on a separate computer and have to get the information from the server for what is in it's line of sight, what it hears and so forth. Giving it only the information a human player would have.

Like it a survivor misses a skill check on a generator and it explodes the main server sends that information to the server/program controlling the killer. That way it would only know what a player would know.

  • Maybe as a skin for Jake?

  • I have seen this happen several times now. If you have a nice killer they are able to free the stuck survivor by putting them in a deadly state and picking the survivor up. It is at least a possible option until it is fixed.

In the video below I was playing as survivor however when I am playing as killer and encounter a survivor who is stuck here I pick them up then let them struggle free.

    https://youtu.be/naETkev7RtA

  • I have had so many cheaters today it is going to take me 30 minutes at least to separate the matches I recorded that have hackers into individual clips and submit them one at a time.

wait what next to each other as in right next to each other? or close by as in across the way directly? lol

Their were at one end of the street next to each other. I was playing as killer and could get from one to the other in maybe 15 seconds. Never seen them so close before on that map.

  • I 've seen it a couple of times now. The first time I was the one that got stuck. The second time it was another survivor. The killer had to put the survivor in a dying state and pick them up to free them.

    https://youtu.be/naETkev7RtA

I submitted on this a few days ago and they responded that they know about it. They didn't have an ETA on the fix though.

Ah yes, because they were supposed to know they had to cleanse totems

Why should survivors need to do something thats possibly not even there?

Why should anyone open a chest not knowing if something useful will be in it?

Everyone knows their are 5 totems to be cleansed every match. As for why should they do it. Well that should be obvious. Just in case NOED is one of the killers perks among other things.

  • @Shroompy said:

Still rewards the killer for essentially doing badly

For how strong of an effect it has, it needs to be earned, not given

Punishes the survivors for not working on totem is a more accurate way to put it. Every so often I will use it and give the survivors a false sense of security in letting them finish generators and then sacrifice as many of them as I can.

I frequently get 3 or 4 of them when I do this and that isn't because I am playing badly as a killer. I choose to play that way and the reason they fell to NOED is because the survivors failed to cleanse the totems. It's not that hard to do. Especially if everyone is doing it.

  • Yea it is getting somewhat bad. Especially the speed hacking. The game needs some kind of server validation to very their location.

I have also seen a big increase in survivors that I am chasing that are suddenly a few steps back or forwards of were they were a moment before. I am on a fiber optic connection and rarely lag. I will focus on that survivor using the lag switch. Tunneling and camping them until they are sacrificed or the match ends.

    I class that as cheating.

I have seen a survivor do it before and heard it has something to do with a glitched totem. Not sure how accurate that is though.

Good luck finding all 5 totems on Midwich without totem-hunting perks and SWF.

It didn't take me long to learn those possible locations in Midwich. It's one of the easiest maps to find them in.

  • @SilentPill said:

I’m not watching all that, and you conveniently leave out the endgame screen.

There’s plenty of DBD killer builds that are so strong cleansing all the totems isn’t feasible, especially in solo Q or on a huge map like RPD without dedicated totem hunting perks.

It’s not reasonable to expect all 5 totems to get done every game, especially when people like me, who don’t need NOED, have completely front loaded builds and doing dull totems is practically throwing the game

How do you know their wasn't and end game screen if you didn't watch the video and what does an end game screen have to do with the point of my post anyways? If you have a valid reason why it is important I can post it just for you.

As for it not being reasonable I am not sure how you came to that conclusion.

  • @RiskyKara said:

One of my friends hates noed so much that they run detectives hunch every game. I love playing with them because we never get cleaned out by noed and I feel so smug about 1 survivor perk absolutely destroying 1 killer perk.

We used 6% of our perks to destroy 25% of theirs.

I always use it as a survivor too. It is pretty effective in eliminating the the potential threat of NOED not too mention the other HEX totems.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Evil Incarnate is one of them.

Power Moves (though only while solo) is another.

Skilled Huntress can actually ######### itself.

Why do you people think it is one of the dumbest achievements? Granted it is hard but that doesn't mean it is dumb.

It took me a long time to get it. Players kept disconnecting was the biggest issue. The hiding in lockers was inconsequential. I would just put them down and wait for someone to heal them.

When I finally did get it the match lasted around 20 minutes. I don't know if some of the survivors may have made it easier on me. I was more surprised that none of them disconnected and pretty surprised I actually got the last one considering the survivor was tea bagging me right next to the exit. I recorded the match and the last part is the best part when I grabbed the last survivor at the exit.

  • As a killer I have seen an increase in survivors hacking. Speed hacks mostly at first and now I seem to be seeing an increase in survivors that are vanish suddenly.

Had one that even escaped from the match when only 4 generators had been done and all survivors were still alive. Only time I have ever seen that one. The same survivor had been speed hacking, Fortunately I caught that one on video. I record my games more often now because of this.

  • Infinite Tier 3 Michael Myers is weaker than regular because of how long it takes to get there. I only used it until I got Evil Incarnate which was a pain. Survivors disconnecting when grabbed was a big problem.

If I remember right it take more than one survivor to get to tier 3 when using infinite. If they got tier 3 on infinite that fast I would say a couple of survivors were not paying attention or messing around.

  • @Junylar said:

When you play against SWF, only NOED can give you hope to get at least one kill.
