That's not how I read it:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5TQ1VO7LSIS5/image.png
From how I understand it, they'll actually stay in your inventory, but become unusable. Some people like that for nostalgia's sake.
I couldn't care less about nostalgia, I want blood points…
Removing trash from blood web is always good, but they really should have do that before anniversary. -
@jesterkind said:
Isn't that how it should work? If you'd get X number of cakes spending manually, shouldn't you also get X number of cakes from the bulk spending?
I think I must be missing something here, haha.
for some players it seems still to be working, not sure if it same as it used to be, but simply players were/are getting more cakes with bulk spending.
It seems to work better for lower prestige characters, difference for p100 is very small. -

it doesnt really matter how fast you do bloodwebs when you're terribly missing out.
though no matter if you level manually or through bulk spending, p100 cake gains are tragic. you get 1 cake per level instead of 1-3 cakes like you used to the other years.
but remember as Mandy said, we get just "slightly" less cakes…

I found bulk spending to be really efficient. I have already gotten around 500 cakes on my Sable, while going from P68 to P84
Yeah, I guess it simply works way better for anyone but p100…
Silly me, should have expected devs to do something like this. -

I don’t understand. I am trying to though, why would you have to spend blood points on your P 100?
So I have cakes and can play him during the year. I never play without cakes, it's not effective…
But I am simply not interested in other survivors. I have played near 700 games since last anniversary (on Jeff), so I would like to gather that on him again, so I can play him.
Issue is right now I have just something under 300 cakes on him, because it's just so slow. I may get my goal on him, but I doubt I will manage anyone else, which just annoys me a lot.
I was hoping to increase prestige on some killers, but devs said nope. -

I think they’re referring to P100 gains vs still trying to get to p100.
And yes any level prior to p100 you get A LOT!
At p100 it’s 1 per web which stinks sadly, but that’s fine I guess because I have other characters I am leveling too 😍
Yeah, sadly I play only 1 survivor and I would like to gather enough cakes on Jeff first before leveling other characters.
What's very annoying I will have to spend all my BP on p100 to get it. In past events I would easily have it already and could level up other characters… -

P 100’s should get more pies than they’re getting. In my opinion.
it's very annoying we don't even get random event box…

I use lethal on Oni a lot and regularly see survivors spawning 2 and 2. I have yet to see everyone alone like some of those screenshots tho.

Thats the thing though... players who play alot will naturally ALSO be earning alot of cakes. Players who DONT play alot won't earn as many...but they dont need as many either. As long as they're providing enough to last players for the year... it shouldn't be an issue. This is a giant nothingburger of a complaint at this point.
I am happy for you if you are able to gather enough cakes you want, but that doesn't change the fact we get way less cakes than we used to and prestige 100 is basically getting punished for commiting to a character in this event.
Main thing is still why the hell they limited main point of anniversary. I couldn't care less about event, I am here for cakes and I get less of them now for some definetly not smart reason, which annoys me.
At this point it doesn't seem I will manage to gather enough cakes to last until next anniversary. What's even more annoying, because how slowly I get them, I am forced to spend all BP on my p100 main to gather cakes there instead of trying to prestige other characters. -

So you are just an entitled person, got it… :) If you want a cake every match for the rest of the year, that is perfectly possible. Just play a lot, farm bp. I am personally at over 1000 cakes alrdy…
So you are just an entitled person, got it
sure, I am used to a standard they set in earlier years and I want to know why they changed it now, because it annoys me.
Just play a lot, farm bp.
Oh right, I need to spend around 35k for 1 cake (prestige 100). I would need like 1000 total for it to be barely enough, which would be like 175 games (200k per game)
For me that's quite a lot of games, I am not going to take a vacation from my work just to play DBD. I didn't need it in earlier years, I am not going to do it now.I may be entitled to standard they set before, but I would say you just want to gate keep players.
There is no such a thing as too many cakes imo. -
@Munky said:
Friends, I understand there is little logic in doing this, but… I played about 10 matches yesterday (200k bp per match on survivor), bulk spent the BP on one char and got about 100 cakes… why are we complaining here? You always get back more cakes than you use in offerings. Unless you are extremely unlucky in your solo lobbies not dropping cakes at the offering, in combination with you playing very poorly and thus getting low points…
that doesn't change the fact it's way less than before
I want to play basically every game with a cake during whole year, I am not going to play without a cake unless I need something specific for challenge.
Gather that many cakes for me is suddenly an issue, when I have time to play like 1-2 hours per day.
It may not be an issue for majority of players who will still be able to gather enough, but it simply doesn't make sense why do it in first place. -

To be clear I think Nurse, Blight, Ghoul should be nerfed regardless due to how strong they are compared to how easy they are to play.
I guess you could make the skill floor for them much higher too and that'd also be an alright fix but idk how you do that without reworking them completely.
I don't think Blight is that easy to play after hugtech removal, but for example the feature of Kaneki that would set his tokens to (-2 of his maximum) on pallet destroy would be fine imo and would nerf the most boring way of playing him.
Nurse is easy basically when you stack aura reading perks, so I would definetly want her to not being able to see survivor auras while charging blink. That would make her so much more fun to play against imo, when you can actually mind game.
I don't really mind playing against Nurse/Blight, they have their limits you can play around. I wouldn't want to nerf them in boring a way (cooldown, speed etc)
I would say changes I talked about at least for Nurse and Blight would increase their skill floor quite a lot without making them feel bad to play as.I hate Kaneki, so I am very biased there. His skill floor is not even in same category as Blight/Nurse imo. I have no idea why he can do so many things with free first hit on top of it.
-
It doesn't really make sense to nerf good killers just because they are better than lowest tier killers. Trapper etc are definetly not good standard how strong killer should be.
Not like there are not good ways to nerfs those killers, but this is simply bad argument for it.
Issue is some killers simply can't be ever top tier killers simply by nature of their power. -
That has nothing to do with a perk, don't you dare touch it.
-
The bloodpoint bonus makes it better to play survivor
Issue is I would say on average I can still get more BP on killers…
-
I have definetly noticed missing yellow mark, I don't know if it is intended or bug…
-
I have seen survivors give up way less, so I wouldn't say changes are not working…

Not every swf plays sweaty or good even. I am lately playing a lot with a friend who is mom and has full-time job. As you could think, she isn't very good and she is just being tunneled every match, because she is a good 2-tap material.
It's automatic lose for everyone else, which isn't great thing.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3955692#Comment_3955692
For 10k hours I've never done "build talking" different then "just take DS".
So tell us now, what bhvr can do to improve soloQ survivior experience, without touching the swfs
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3955695#Comment_3955695
We do seem more aware, I agree.
The thing is, playing dbd in other regions feels different.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3955709#Comment_3955709
That's what I always think when I am watching US content creators, streamers mostly. People are chill, even people names are somewhat funny, pregame lobby is positive etc, when in europe all we do is saying perks like deli, stb etc.
Sometimes you even get hate messages like "sable leave or you die" which is so fk'ed up.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3955709#Comment_3955709
You made some good point. It is very repetitive, I agree.
I am queuing up for a match against kanekis and blights most of the time, everything seems the same as a match or few matches before. Same old tunneling, sometimes slugging.
Seeing blight coming back to hook area after the unhook feels normal now. Even S-tiers tunnel out at 5.Me and friends just find ourself saying "maybe next game will be better" more and more lately and we just keep going, because overall we love the game.
Adding the ghoul and animatronic really didn't bring anything new to survivior gameplay, other than perk changes I feel.
It's especially bad with kaneki, which didn't have much counterplay at day 1 and all surviviors could do was just trying to do gens quickly enough. Not every swf plays sweaty or good even. I am lately playing a lot with a friend who is mom and has full-time job. As you could think, she isn't very good and she is just being tunneled every match, because she is a good 2-tap material.
Well, bad SWF usually get on level of soloQ in terms of information sharing, which means soloQ targeted features would help them as well.
I have lately started to play with my sister and tunneling on her was definetly annoying, but definetly not something that should change whole balancing of the game. It's more of an issue I bring her to lobbies she shouldn't be in…

Instead of arguing and trying to nullify someones opinion, listening is okay too. A lot of this is why I don't play as much right now and my friends.
It's not about justifying you as killer, you're playing lots and are happy. You're just trying to say people's opinions aren't valid.
My points aren't necessarily aimed at you but in reference to the thread in general as to why survivors are playing less. I personally want to play more killer but as OP states, EU killer queue times are annoying when I have time to play. We seem to be more aware than the other regions over the state of the current balance.listening is okay too.
I just want to see good arguments…
It's not about justifying you as killer, you're playing lots and are happy.
Well, in past 8 months I have way more games on survivors (majority is either solo, or duo). Only thing that is ruining it for me is Kaneki… I hate him so much.
My points aren't necessarily aimed at you but in reference to the thread in general as to why survivors are playing less
Well, issue is I don't think any of those points is valid argument to try completely break current balancing, which some suggestions from this post would definetly do.
I said I am definetly behind QoL features for soloQ, which would also help worse SWF, because such features would focus mainly on information aspect.I personally want to play more killer but as OP states, EU killer queue times are annoying when I have time to play.
Thing is based on when it started I would Kaneki is sole reason for this, they were perfectly fine before his update. I usually play since 21:00 or later, where I had usually less than 30 seconds queue times.
I agree it's definetly worse now even during late ours, I have like 2-3 minutes queue times. But it is kinda expected right now with new big release killer and killer sided event (killers are also better at farming BP). We will see how it goes after event ends, I would expect it to lower again. -

SWF's do, not every SWF is a try hard comp team, plus the official stats make it clear it's not a terribly huge advantage in the wider scope of things. Not to mention not everything thats off putting about this game is balance related.
Survivors in general need listened to right now:
-We need the visuals improved (animations/terrible shoulder rigs etc) lets look at how lazy they did the DS animation, or the new Springtrap axe removal. It looks awful.
-Current event gives survivors nothing on the caliber of remote hook/remote pallet break
-We are only JUST recieving a new item 9 years in
-every new perk concept barely gets any love/meaningful new additions (Boons/Invocations/Teamwork)
-every event is ruined by some stupid killer combo allowed (Lights out Legion, lights out would have been so much better if killers couldnt use powers and operated more like skins with an event specific power like survivors)
-MMR is encouraging terrible playstyles
Idk saying one set of players can't have an opinion is an awful take.SWF give you options, you can talk about builds, you can make call outs, you can simply gather decent players who will not DC on you.
If you use those tools or not is on you, but for most things you have the option. I don't believe every SWF is making clock system call outs.
Escape rate was not that much higher, but it was definetly higher. Thing is SWF are simply more altrustic and will often throw games to help, so kinda double edged sword. I would like to see average gen completion instead of just escapes.-We need the visuals improved
sure, not a balancing change
Current event gives survivors nothing on the caliber of remote hook/remote pallet break
It's not like we never had survivor sided events… and this is also last year of this one
We are only JUST recieving a new item 9 years in
Well, you are recieving one, so I fail to see the issue. It's not like every killer get changed regularly…
every new perk concept barely gets any love/meaningful new additions
I would say killers have it same or worse, so fail to see how it is connected to survivors, or you mean in general?
every event is ruined by some stupid killer combo allowed
Well, not all games are full SWF and not all games are abusing killer. If you want to use that as argument, then both are valid. Is it an issue, if it's not majority or not?
MMR is encouraging terrible playstyles
Not really, it's not something you see, it only makes you games worse. I see MMR more as a punishment than reward…
Idk saying one set of players can't have an opinion is an awful take.
They are free to have opinion, but they have options soloQ doesn't, so if they lose, it's kinda skill issue imo.
I have no issue with them to argue about specific killer, perk, or addon.
But I simply think current SWF vs killers balance does not need change. I would say soloQ does and few specific killers. -
Oni main and metal head…
-
It's not like killers will not tunnel. They will down you, keep you on ground for 40 seconds and then hook you. Meanwhile they can try to get a hit or patrol gens.
Top tier killers can just ignore it and down you in 5 seconds again. -

Could we maybe have some insight on why the level has dropped?
On survivor especially, the rates of cakes have always felt low because of the shared pool with items. I'm unsure what the intent is behind a lowered rate.
Could we maybe have some insight on why the level has dropped?
because they are cheap.
Look at rewards for quest system, or late levels of rift. It's just pathetic low, I am not surprised they did same with cakes. -

And its still more than enough.
There is no such a thing as enough cakes.
I need to gather at least 700 cakes to last whole year, that's a lot of BP suddenly (around 23 000 000 BP).
Not really easy for someone who has time to play like 1-2 hours per day, because that's like 115 games. Just to get enough cakes for survivor, then killers too. -
Survivor: Metal jesus
Killer: Angry demon -
Well, survivors are having this for years and yet to be changed even tho promised. (Kinda annoyed about that as Jeff main)
I don't really care about GlitchTrap's sound volume, I just like he doesn't scream… -
I don't think SWF has any right to complain, but I would definetly welcome some buffs focused on soloQ QoL.

I know that queue times may be different in different zones of the world - I am mostly talking about europe - germany, Ireland, UK..
Now, at almost 10 AM europe time:
Surviviors have average 6-12s queue time in both normal and event mode.
Killers average 6:30-7:00 minutes in normal mode in Germany, Ireland. UK is turned off.
8:00-8:15 in event mode.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BKF1QZVQQY3Y/image.png
USA has literally the best queue times for both sides as right now. They are both really quick. IN NORMAL MODE:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K5GQGFHZJLCQ/image.png
In event mode, for comparison we have:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/G59MRA1HM14O/image.png
Maybe that means killers are being too strong on event mode? Numbers kinda say it.
Ok, where did you get that data? There is some page for tracking queue times?
-
I think It's supposed to be a draw right now, so kinda as if they got a hatch…

@Rulebreaker said:
So what'd you think about last year's anniversary?
I had more cakes, so definetly better…
-
I wouldn't mind making his movement speed slower while holding hatchet, but he would need to get some serious buffs to make up for it. I would definetly love to see orbitals buff (bigger hitbox with travel time or something)
I don't think he is simply strong enough to take direct nerfs right now.
Just focus on bug fixes and see how it goes… -
That would increase numbers of game crashing during loading screen a lot, so doubt it.
-
I hope so, their idea of controlled drone would definetly not end well as we have seen with Twins/Houndmaster. I don't really want her to become buggy mess.
I would definetly want undetectable to stay as part of her power… -
So when I read this post I got into mood to play her again. It's so funny survivors still give up and hate to play against her. Even tho she basically has only stealth left :D
Devs really should have ignored those complaining, because clearly even nuclear nerf was not enough for them. -

Her skins are some of the best, I agree! My favorite is one of her rift skins, this one:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WTU3OS1OCY14/image.png
I love it <3
Thank you for the recommendations, my friend, I appreciate it!
I am usually playing with Bamboozle, Corrupt Intervention, Pain Res and Lightborn (which I never remove from my build). It isn't as chase-oriented mostly because of the event, as the tiles are easier to run as killer due to the pallet break / enduring powers.
Surveilance, Surge, Pain res, STBFL was my favorite build for a long time too.
My favorite skins are: -
I sometimes get myself to suffer with her, because I simply love her skins (one of best imo)
Addons I would use always Adaptive lightning and expired batteries or geocraphical readout can work.
My build:
Whispers, STBFL, Surge, Sloppy/Franklins -
Don't expect your drones to do anything.
She is pure M1 killer with stealth on command, trying to get drones to work will only waste your time.
Whispers is good now, because it tells you when to deploy drone before survivors hear your TR (she has 24 meters TR now).
STBFL is must have for her now, because most of your hits will be M1. -
As someone who DC once in my 2,5k playtime, I think it's very good change.
I am fully fine with approach, if you don't want to play, then don't play. -
What you can do btw is lower sensitivity for killer in settings. I put it to 0 (it doesn't affect normal gameplay).
Maybe I simply got used to it, but it seemed to work for me.
I am Oni main, it took me like 2-3 hours get used to this, but now I am able to flick where I want. So if they change it again and I have to relearn, I will be quite annoyed… -

I think that is intentional. Mandy had mentioned they reduced BP Offering frequency this year vs years before. For any given reason that I am not aware of they don't want us to have has many.
Well, as soon I run out of cakes, I am not going to play until next anniversary. Simple as that…

According to their status report, it is now fixed. Now, we should be able to eat a good amount of cakes!
Not really, it's basically always 1 cake, but you never see event boxes. Not really effective….
I was planning to get like 600-700 cakes on my main survivor, but I don't think I can manage that with how bad it is now. -
@Mandy said:
So whilst the number of cakes throughout any level has dropped slightly from last year - the issue was particularly relevant with Level 50 bloodwebs where often there were none of the offerings available, this is what we addressed.
Yeah, we have something else under word "slightly". From up to 4 cakes per bloodweb to 1 if we are lucky…. lol

@Albanactus said:
I ran it through a few times, they've got one of each item in survivor P100 webs now. It's definitely not a bug, this is post hotfix — to the earlier bug affecting the Level 50 web/P100s where you just got 1 torch and 1 mystery box every time. It's an improvement but still very stingy compared to previous years. The devs confirmed they have stripped back the BP offerings in the bloodwebs this anniversary generally, it's very much intended. I'm hoping they see sense and switch to 1 cake and 3 mystery boxes or something along those lines but presumably people will have to whine and moan about it.
Imagine not giving players only thing they play the event for… not very smart
even removed mystery boxes for p100 players. Good job punishing veteran players. -

if survivors could always prerun/hide when you try to leave hook for gens.
Why are you ok when this happens in a SWF, though (via callouts)? Solo queue players are just asking for parity. You are 100% facing this already, in case that affects your opinion…
It doesn't always happen even with good SWF. Especially when survivor is in second stage and get locked in animation. You can also break LoS quite often. That's something you can play around, not really when everyone can directly see your aura.
Also SWF are not majority of playerbase, yet alone SWF who actually make callouts.
I definetly face this in few games, but that's very far from this happening every time I hook a survivor.
Every game I play as soloQ/duo I play with Kindred, so I am fully aware how strong killer aura reading is and it would be absolutely broken basekit. -
We can maybe talk about number of games needed, but it's so much better, when players can't just wait it out, so they are free to DC next game…
Of course this is way more punishing as it should be imo.I don't see this change doing ANY good for the game's health
It's definetly way better for players, who simply don't DC… It limits how much other players can ruin our games.
-
I don't think killer part of the perk should become basekit, but I would like survivor aura reading of kindred basekit.
Killer part basekit would be devastating for some killers. It would be just bad, if survivors could always prerun/hide when you try to leave hook for gens.
If you want it as "anti camping", then it should start working like 10 seconds after survivor is hooked and not if killer is in chase. -
Well, zoning could definetly get nerfed, if he gets other buffs with it. I don't think he is strong enough to get direct nerfs.
Also have no idea how anyone can have thim lower than Kaneki, but sure… -
If they don't, then this might give me a reason for another long break, because the moment I run out of cakes, I am not going to play until next anniversary.
-
That's how it works already, no?

The door display that you can only see about 10% of the time? That door display?
Door usually is next to gen and quite often I can see the display.
If you see the display, then his teleport is kinda useless, because it's quite slow and you are free to prerun, where chase is bad idea for him at that point.
