Maybe give a reason to spread hooks? There is simply none right now.
Old BBQ did this very well…
Survivors also need to learn to use longer hook timer. I am usually more annoyed by my teammates than killer for tunneling. In most cases, it was caused by survivors imo.

DStrike after every Hook-Stage by Default would help.
Not really, DS does not have that much value if killer knows for sure you have it. Not hard to track +/- how much time was it since unhooking, then just slug. Of course survivors would then ask for basekit unbreakable at that point.

Practice is the best advice for any survivor who struggles against killer. Learning to loop is the second best advice. Some people simply expect a 100% reliable solution to the problem and get upset that such thing may not exist.
Regarding Legion - he can use M2 to land a first hit, maintain the frenzy bonus and continue chasing the same target. If target is in bad spot, Legion can simply disable the power, wait for recovery and land the second hit right after. Don't tell me you expect every Legion player run around for every survivor before landing the 5th hit for a down?
Some people simply expect a 100% reliable solution
If there is not realible solution and only thing people can say is generic advice, that kinda means there is not much to do…
For every killer in DBD I can say something that is going to improve your chances of escaping, except Kaneki.
Don't tell me you expect every Legion player run around for every survivor before landing the 5th hit for a down?
No, he is free to commit and I would say most player would prefer him to do it. I have absolutely 0 issues with Legion.
It is possible to deny first hit against Legion, not really that difficult, or at least deny him to hit anyone else. His power is very limited to use in chase. His fatigue is longer, his vault is worse, his mobility is worse. Kaneki outclass Legion at everything really…If target is in bad spot, Legion can simply disable the power
sure and his fatigue is longer than Kaneki and if you won't manage to down survivor, then you are actually pure M1 killer unlike Kaneki….

Learn to loop at tiles and stay in area where you can break line of sight with him.
He can get quick first strike but then he is an M1 killer. He also needs to bounce off something if he wants to gain distance with his power.
Practice more about him. Nobody says you have to loop all killers for 5 gens. Even average survivors can waste some of killer's time if they pre-drop some pallets or run around the shack.
He can get quick first strike but then he is an M1 killer.
Well, he is not just M1 killer, his power is quite easy to use in chase to deny many loops/pallets and distance.
Legion is an M1 killer after first hit, Kaneki is far from that. That's like calling old Nurse M1 killer, techinically yes, but no.
You also didn't really give any real advice. It's basically still only "learn to play against him". Except breaking LoS, which is not really that big deal imo, but sure.
Against any killer I can give real tips of what to do against them to improve. Fact that you can't do it against Kaneki is quite telling too. -

COH was 16 seconds, which made it omegabusted. That's nowhere near the same thing. You can nerf genrushing and buff self healing, y'know. You can do two things at once.
I mean, I would love to have back old Sloppy butcher and addons without timer again…
Also make Sloppy work on special attacks, so healing have better counter. I bet survivors would also like that. But I still don't think altruistic should be less than 16 seconds by default. I think it's fine now and self healing should not be faster than that unless you use several perks for it. That simply wouldn't make sense to me.

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but:
Goes without saying it's actually better for 1 player to Self Care for 32s over a second player healing over 16s, since the time cost to survivor side is the same, but in the self care secanrio, the other survivor is free to work on gens.
That's always been the value in every self healing meta, whether it's Self Care, OldOld/New Botany, Old CoH, or pre 9.0.0 medkits and syringes. Being able to self heal at the same rate or better than being healed by a teammate, means that extra pair of hands can go straight back to rushing gens.
Which ofc, there is the counter argument to allowing self healing to be good... Survivors wouldn't have to gen rush if healing was better, which is ofc true... It's the same logic as Blight and Nurse are strong enough not to have to tunnel and slug to win, and we ofc never see that happen either. Right?
Survivors wouldn't have to gen rush if healing was better, which is ofc true..
It's the same logic as Blight and Nurse are strong enough not to have to tunnel and slug to win, and we ofc never see that happen either. Right? And survivors never gen rushed when old CoH (I would say one of best times for self healing) was a thing, right? They still did, BNP was always used…
Thing is self healing and healing in general can never be lower than time it takes for killer to injure the survivor in first place. That kinda makes it impossible to build pressure except by full tunneling, which we have seen with OG CoH and old medkits. -

This is pretty complex, but I can give you some tips. You just need to understand what tile you are in and if the ghoul is charging power or not.
What I have found out, it's very easy to basically stand under pallet and wait if Ghoul used his leap to get there, because delay between M1 and cancel is pretty high. It doesn't really work if he just pulled his power, you can't greed because he is not slowed down much a there is very small delay after cancel, so not something you can do on reaction reliably.
Safe pallets if he can vault you are just dead, if he has power ready and you won't manage to vault back. Nothing to do there other than predrop.
Windows if get blocked are also out of my power to do something about it.
My big issue is not even double back works, because he can fully cancel his slide after dash…
Interesting topic, you think it's better to stay injured or always heal? I am personally on injured team… -

Wasting 32 seconds every single time you want to heal is NOT meta level in any way. That adds up way too fast. Self Care was always just a fun perk you could run a build with in solo queue to heal in chases that lasted for a long time already. That's impossible to do now, even with a full build dedicated to it.
Survivor is strong because it's more efficient as a role. Gens come faster than hooks if you slam them. You can't slam gens when you're off of them for minutes at a time between a chase and a heal.
Wasting 32 seconds every single time you want to heal is NOT meta level in any way
You realize that's basically exactly same as when another survivor heals you, right? And selfhealing should not be even close to effeciency of altrustic healing unless it is limited in some way, which selfcare is not.

Disagree. Kaneki is very fun to play and extremely fun to play against when he is so weak now. The only killers I'd agree being boring to go against is Knight and Skull Merchant. Other than than it's just whining.
Damn, I would love to see your chases against Kaneki… Like what are your tips to play against him?
Hold W doesn't work, safe pallets doesn't work, windows in most cases doesn't work (Bamboozle/addon)…
Only fun thing I know is basically try to vault back on pallets through him, which needs good timing otherwise it downs you by default. -
That's post on level of internet explorer speed…
Self healing is one of strongest things survivors can do, so perk that can do it as many times you want at any location simply can't be even close to speed it takes 2 survivors to heal. -

Springtrap has more map mobility and good antiloop along with quick 2 tap option, so yes. Springtrap is defienetly stronger than Kaneki yet not stronger than 75 % of the killers.
Mobility is most likely best thing you can have with killer, there is a reason why all top tier killers have good mobility.
Both Kaneki and Springtrap have decent mobility. I would say Kaneki has it way better, because he is not limited on where he can use it…
So just based on that they simply can't be low.
I don't think Kaneki is S tier killer, maybe like low A, but he is definetly one of most boring to play against in my opinion.
Springtrap has one of highest skill ceilings, so hard to tell, but definetly not lower than high B imo, but also not S. -
@Elan said:
Imagine asking for nerfing D tier killer.
So by your opinion Kaneki is F tier killer and Springtrap D tier killer… Suuure
I guess your tier list is all the way to Z, otherwise I have no idea how you got this outcome. -

I personally think dead hard is currently a fun troll perk, currently the worst exhaustion perk in the game and there are much better perks that do a similar job, such as blood rush.
Its only strengh is that it became so bad that such few players actually play it now and when they do it can surprise you.

Definetly not best, but definetly not worst. Smash hit is still a thing…
Its only strengh is that it became so bad that such few players actually play it now and when they do it can surprise you.
I like it, it's kinda satisfying to use and very good synergy with Iron Will, which is big deal for Jeff main :D
such few players actually play it now
10% on nightlight is quite a lot… 6th most used perk, sure not most precise tracking, but still quite accurate
-
Not surprised and definetly won't use it anyway if I want specific addons/offerings, but I am too lazy to spend huge amount of BP for prestiges…
-
I kinda like to play against him, so don't really see a reason for big nerfs. Lot of bug fixes for sure…
He has also huge skill ceiling, so I expect him to be quite popular, but I will take him over Kaneki any day. -
Played like 7 games on survivors and yet to see killer fully tunnel… which is suprising for sure, maybe was just lucky
-

Learn to play against Ghoul maybe?
ok, tell me what to do against him. I would really like to know.
So far only thing I can see working is play Resi, stay injured and try to gen rush him. Not really how to chase against him. -
5 is overkill, I think it should be on par with Legion tho… I still don't think he should be able to cancel slide on first dash at least.
For a long time there was not really a killer I didn't like to play against, but I really hate to play against Ghoul. Hopefully there will be less of them now.
His chases are simply boring to me. Can't play pallets, can't hold W, can't double back, usually can't even play windows because everyone use Bamboozle/addon to block them…
Only redemption is you can vault back on pallet with correct timing. -
Springtrap is hard to hear? How that happen… Isn't he like loudest killer in DBD? I would say only Nemesis gets close to him.

But not noticably so. A start cooldown is on par with every other teleport killer, the visibility is litterly a bugfix and several people have tried to argue that the undetectable isnt relevant anyway. So whats the harm in removing it!
If undetectable is not relevant, then there is also no reason to nerf it…
It's already weaker than any other stealth killer, simply because how loud his walk is. I can see reducing duration a bit. -
4. why nerf killer just because there exists a worse version on not really strong killer?
Would make more sense to ask to buff puppy instead… -
It would still get disabled after 1 use, but survivors would be able to use it with other exhaustion perks, which I think would be kinda busted…
I still consider that to be very strong perk and easy to use against many killers. I like to use it with Iron Will… -
So another power broken?
Kaneki's bite also doesn't trigger it. Unless it was changed since I tried it… -
Doesn't really sound more fun to me, quite the opposite.
Most slowdown perks need to be basically earned (downs/hooks) and used by the killer. This would make every game longer by default, while killer could use other builds and it would become stale meta anyway. Most likely bunch of aura reading perks with 1/2 chase perks. While having 100s free time and still can kick anyway.
Not talking about how unrealistic it is anyway, because they would have to come up with new effects. -

no him grabbing the axe out of you is his power. You shouldn’t be able to get one shotted because he loses no distance when throwing. You shouldn’t be able to take an axe in the back and an M1 at the same time. Might as well just give him exposed and remove sprint from survivors
Him grabbing axe is more of a gimmick, not really a power.
Usually he has a delay before he can attack/grab after throwing an axe, there just seems to be a bug, where he doesn't, which should be fixed. I don't really know when it happens tho.I would say he gets punished for missing an axe enough. He is slowed at start and lose axe for quite a long time…
I also have feeling you are PuddleOfBludd new account… -
I am playing it right now in custom game and there is quite a bit of a delay (seems normal) after axe throw…
So maybe some bug under specific condition? -

just don’t go after the unhooked survivor
I mean, an issue is it was basically impossible to go after other survivor, if they wanted to bodyblock. You can't run around someone faster than you… (by a lot)
-
My highest kill rate is Pig (from 20+ hours killers), which I really wouldn't have guessed, because I am really willing to go for Boop the snoot.
Otherwise kill rates and playtimes are what I would guess. -
Sounds boring to me
-
Survivors also have a lot of information perks focused on killer and item (key). Some of them can be kinda game breaking in specific situation too.
So that's definetly something you can do.
Hiding is simply boring and I am definetly not sad it's gone. I hated it as both survivor and killer. -
@zumer said:
maybe bhvr should split perks into categories and disallow choosing more than one perk from a category?

It's two perks for not really that good result imo.
Also nowhere near good enough reason compared to old BBQ. -

I was humouring the person who question the entire idea to begin with. It's not a suggestion, never was, just some fun. Guess I expect too much from some of the DBD community…
Bigger issue is you have people who actually thinks it would be good idea. That's why it's better to point out those major flaws anyway, just to be sure.
-
If I play solo, I prefer Scout.
But I usually play duo and duo Medics are kinda broken…
I don't think Medic is going to be that bad in 2v8 (at least insta heal part) even with Plague. I bet survivors are going to cleanse like crazy against Plague, which means she is going to walk in her corrupted power most of the times, where medic works. -
@Khastrx said:
Y''all are not fun at all. It's not a suggestion of something I want added to the game, its a bit of fun, stop being so anal about it. jesus christ.
Fact that you tried to justify it as a valid system in another comment doesn't make it seems as a simple theoretical question instead of suggestion.
-
To be honest, I think Wraith is better with Oni anyway…
Wraith can also injure survivors for you, but main thing it's easy for Wraith to follow you and pick up survivors you leave behind.
Oni definetly feels strong, but we usually get to escape anyway. It doesn't really matter if he manages to down several survivors, if he can't pick them up.
Infinite unbreakable is also kinda big deal against him. -
I think 2v8 right now is pretty survivor sided, but as long queue times are so bad for a killers, I don't see a reason to change it.
Killers seem to play anyway so… -
Not hard to do really, but reward is just terrible for sure
-
2v8 works quite well around gens imo, it's simply more fast paced version of standard gameplay.
I personally enjoy both survivors and killers in 2v8. I am looking forward new system, where you can play survivors while waiting for killer game. -
You really won't manage to blame queue times on Oni and Legion :D
Thing is when we are playing I manage to still escape against Oni very often, but I simply think it's because there is no good match making and they are just bad…
But one thing is true that Oni is not thaaat strong, because survivors have basically infinite unbreakable. He still can't pick everyone.
When I play as Oni, I usually manage to down 4-6 survivors, but in reality only 1-2 of that become hook stages. -
Well, he is still on his way to become Skully 2.0 imo
-
Yeah, I would rather for devs to not touch Legion yet alone try rework. There are killers who need changes so much more and I am personally happy with current Legion.
-
I would be fine if they made it even easier for him to gain his power, but made it so he can't insta down survivors like I think Billy had at first 2v8.
Right now, I think he is really broken if you know how to play Oni at lest decent level. I had escaped against Oni several times, but I have no idea how it happened.
When I played I usually get like 6-8 downs per use of my power, then you just need another killer to clean behind you. I personally prefer Wraith over Legion with me… -
Yeah, it's kinda sad low degrees flick are now actually harder to do than 180 before…
I really did not want 180 to be removed and still think it should stay, but I can't believe this was tested and feedback on PTB was ignored. -
Hell no, noone wants to play with bots.
I am looking for the feature where I can play survivors while waiting for killer game. I think that is going to help a lot. -
I would say so, I really did not think Oni will ever get to 2v8.
If so I would expect him to not down a survivor in 1 hit, but need to double tap at least… yet alone get buffed instead -

That isn't at all how it works unless the Legion is literally brain dead, that isn't how this works at all.
What do you mean braindead?
What is Legion supposed to do, if I just stand under pallet and won't drop it until I see/hear him swing.
He can do his little dance to bait me, but that's about it. -
@Jadelysta said:
They can take Oni away too and i wouldn't even care. He literally has infinite power all game, and 80% of my matches yesterday were washed before 3 gens were done.

Sadly I think you're right, they wont remove him and he will continue to ruin 2v8. Ahh.. I cant wait until this mode is over so regular queues are back to normal. Edit: at the very least dont allow Legion and Oni to be played as a combo!

Not going to continue back and forth if you're willingly misunderstanding…
Oh but I will say… my ping below and bear in mind this is higher than normal due to 2v8. I have had below 10ms as I appear to live almost next door to my local server.

Ah, here we go again…
I am getting up for 7k hours in DBD, I don't need to be told how to verse Legion; a weak but incredibly annoying killer.
You have missed my main point, I don't need you to tell me how to deal with Legion 1v1. The problem is when you combine Legion, who gets free cheap injures, with a killer that feeds off those free injures, you have a miserable combination.
It renders the medic role almost redundant too, the same way that bringing a medkit against Legion is all but pointless. You don't seem to understand how consequential free injures are when two killers are in play.
who gets free cheap injures
I would say that term kinda shifted after Kaneki :D That's how free looks like… You can prevent it against Legion.
You don't seem to understand how consequential free injures are when two killers are in play.
Or I am just better at preventing it and understand how healer is good against it… Comparing it with medkit is very flawed.
True, I play with 22 ms ping, so stunning him under pallet is simply easier for me compare to other players.
