Slugging is mandatory against good survivors.
Slugging has already been nerfed numerous times and a multitude of anti-slug perks released.
Most survivors don't run anti-slug perks because they aren't good enough that the killer needs to slug so they don't find them activating enough to warrant running.
All the really good survivors run Unbreakable because as I mentioned earlier, you have to slug against good survivors if you want to win and they know this, which is why they run into slugging more often and why they run the perk.
Did you read to the end?

As someone who has DBD on both Xbox and PC, console is tremendously worse. The skillcheck delay/FPS is awful too, makes doing gens extremely discouraging.

Bloodpoints? Sure. OK. Rewarding people for using their power should be a thing. Not too sure about Hillbilly and Leatherface because they don't have a requirement for them to use their power.
Emblems though? No. You are doing HALF the chase, the therefore you deserve HALF the reward.
Oh yeah, I don't know why people are talking about emblems, this thread is only in regards to BP

Using things like EW3, chainsaw or killing someone with a RBT should award extra BPs, downing with a chainsaw/EW3/etc should give as much BPs as getting 2 hits and the RBT should give the remaining hook states points so you dont lose points for bypassing actions because your power allows it.
For perks is another matter as someone said, you are using a perk not a power, perks dont give points unless is stated on them like BBQ or Thrill of the Hunt.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1587984#Comment_1587984
But piping and getting points are different things, some stuff that gives points does help getting better emblems but other point related things do not. What I mean is, giving Myers more points wont make him pip faster and changing the pip system for him wont give him more BPs either.
As for perks, I would say that extra BP is not a far fetched idea. Forced Penance offers 300 deviousness as a bonus hit score for handing out a protected hit.

She receives 2x the information survivors do?!
She cannot see them, and blood isn’t visible if they’re injured.
Survivors cannot see her true location, so that's fair to them. She can see the grass move where they are, but not the opposite.
She can hear directionally as to where survs are, but the only audio they receive is just a phase noise outside of TR, and footsteps if suuuper close. She gets way more info than them, you just gotta think about it.

Definitely her unbalanced feedback. She receives 2x the information, if not more, than survivors do. It's just way too easy to master bc you are given so much to work with and survivors aren't.

For chainsaw i would say yes because it is a power ability that does it, for the survivor just being exposed, no because it's just you using your perk. Myers really needs the 500 extra points from exposed. you can double pip as myers and get under 20k points maybe under 15k.
Ah true. I agree heavily w/ the myers part. Maybe certain perks can offer an additional increase on exposed hits. For example, if a survivor with exposure from a perk like Make Your Choice is downed, instead of saying "Hit +300" it could instead say "Exposed hit +450" just to ease the lack of BP. But I guess that is also just a perk.

I did a killer concept a long time ago, link: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/153994/killer-concept-the-hazard , but one of my fav perks was this:
(Name is relevant to the killer concept) Gassed: You know how to blind them with their own light.
Every time a generator is finished, all survivors who repaired it to completion suffer from a 30/45/60 second Oblivious status effect.
I just really love the art my friend (@jayjester) made for it lol, I also have no idea why it makes it so huge sorry :(
-
I hate to necro a post, but maybe this is possible with legendary skins? BHVR, y'all able to?
-
On The Blight, it's a very terrifying perk right now, I'll tell you that.

I refuse to tunnel off hook, even if farmed, unless they were being toxic. I won't even follow a farmed survivor for a down, only the farmer.

Also For ghostface didn't the guy who manages funland ghostface or whatever confirm something big is happening with gf in dbd?
Something like that, alongside that, SCREAM is getting a fifth movie in the franchise so the licensing shouldn't be completely an issue right now.
-
@TheGhostofZgor said:
Well, I'm not from BHVR but I remember when Ghostface came out they said it was a licensing thing. Basically they have the rights to use the costume and thats it, which is why he isn't any of the killers from the movies and theres no Sidney or Woodsboro.
Hmm makes sense. That just makes me wonder, why leave it at a chapter instead of paragraph, maybe they're waiting for licensing on it?
-
@Azgard12 said:
I don't really think of the maps as being part of the chapter.
Really, there's just a few chapters that are missing an other half: Ghostface, Leatherface, and Ash.
I can't imagine what killer would be appropriately paired with Ash.
Leatherface and Ash are paragraphs, and I usually think maps are a part of the chapter as they are announced side by side at the end of trailers, when it says "NEW KILLER: The Spirit" or whatever, it also announces the new map.

This is actually a cool idea IMO

I wish it was more serious, but I like the idea.

Yeah, I've had the opposite with F13 because once Jason finds you, you're dead. The objective is also nowhere near as interesting as the generators and almost at the point of being absurd. Most of the time it boils down to "survive as long as possible" and that is not fun to me.
Never had the chance to be Jason though.
I'm sorry but doing gens is far less interesting to me. Sitting in one spot for 80 seconds versus searching around and scavenging, although sometimes fruitlessly, feels far more interactive than the occasional skillcheck.

I wouldn't ask for ph either but I didn't freak out when he came out, but I think FNAF lore is kinda sillly story and plot, all it does is jump scares and isn't scary
In all fairness, the original FNAF was a pretty iconic thing and it was silly, sure. But that's also half of the horror genre. Iconic characters in a silly, semi-logical or not at all logical setting.
-
It's a horror game, and this game implements iconic characters from other horror games (and media). While I don't want FNAF in game necessarily, I can see the appeal. FNAF has an aesthetic that is, in recent games I've seen, cute and clean on the outside but progresses to be worse (?) I think? I don't know the game that well. I stopped following it after FNAF II (Whichever game that was, all I know is it followed the original). But I really do like the whole plastic animatronic horror aesthetic. I could see DBD working with it. I know I definitely never would've asked for Silent Hill, but it's not bad so I say that FNAF wouldn't be the end of the world, either.
-
THANK YOU. As killer, I can get 30K points with everyone escaping, but as survivor I have to do it all for 30K
-
Sorry but if you're only getting 2Ks as Spirit in red ranks, you are definitely doing something wrong. She's so easy to get 4Ks with 5 gens idk what you're doin
-
Dead Dawg, something about the dev's take on using breakable walls in an original map and the effort put in to the surroundings really just is icing on the cake for me. The gameplay may be meh to some, but I love that map tbh. Makes me creative in escaping/chasing.
-
Nothing really, I'm a hoarder and do not like the idea of risking losing any items.
-
Honestly it's just routine anymore. This game needs help.
-
I know, I was really mad about Oni's legendary not changing anything minus the skin. A bit of a rip off.
-
I feel like this could ruin the aesthetic of the game, even if we have a wide range from cotton candy colors to dark hues, I think that letting people create custom cosmetics could get out of hand if not monitored. But on second thought, if there was a team to allow people to create cosmetics for the game and implement them, I wouldn't be opposed.

Didn't hear anything about reskins, just that cosmetics will be available for purchase after 6 months.
@MandyTalk Could we maybe have some clarification?
Hmm interesting. I hope it's reskins, not to be one to gatekeep but I would like to be able to have some significance in my cosmetics :p
Edit: Not necessarily significance, but I would like to have some limited time cosmetics.
-
Not sure what you mean The Nun, but as any killer basically do your best in game. Don't camp hooks, but try and kill everyone by hooking them 3 times. Try not to let survivors get many gens done either.

Unlike Charms, cosmetics will eventually be purchasable.
I believe they said reskins tho? Wasn't that it?
-
I only really do this to keep the cosmetics/charms so that, hopefully in the future, people will see them and think I am cool for having old cosmetics that can't be bought. :p
-
As someone who thinks spirit needs a nerf,
please no please no please no please no please no please no please no please no please no please no please no.
But seriously that just does not sound fun. 110% killer with a one-time phase walk in a chase. There are better ways to balance her power.

All I know is that I am a wreck with that new angle and can't play her unless it's permanent and I have to get used to it.

No this is a really good point, I don't understand it at all. There's no perks bound to that button I believe and it has no other effect regarding PH's power so I don't see why it needs that time. It's so awkward

The head will be linked to the set.
That's why they called set
Sets were defined as "2 or more pieces that are linked" it doesn't have to be 3 pieces linked, devs just seem to like it.
-
Side note: I REALLY hope that the head is not locked to the set, that would be so pointless IMO.
-
I'd love to see this happen. If only they did something with Clown beyond stating they were in the process but then deciding to only give him a slight change.
-
No, I think it's fine with where it is now, but I would like to atleast see an animation for when it spawns so it doesn't just appear.

Yeah, I think making the Rift-centric characters all part of the Free Track would be a neat idea.
Though that might also be less effective at incentivizing players to buy the Premium Track, which was likely one of the primary goals of this "battle pass" system in the first place.
Yeah that's fair, business is business. Maybe make the body pieces all free, then the head piece on the premium track. I feel like having part of the outfit but not the whole thing would be a great incentive to buy the rift pass.
-
@APoipleTurtle said:
I'd be fine with giving greater emphasis to the relevant characters, though I think I understand why it is not the case.
If the cosmetics were mostly exclusive to the 4 characters in the current Rift, players who aren't fond of or interested in those characters would probably be more likely to just pass on the content and wait for the next one. The character variety probably keeps the art team from going insane designing something like 5 new tracksuits for Meg, while also generating interest for players who prefer other characters with cosmetics tucked within the Rift. For example, if you weren't interested in the new outfits for Wraith/Hag/Meg/Ace, but really wanted David's sailor outfit, you might be incentivized to grind through the Rift anyway.
Plus most of the cosmetics are just re-colored versions of existing cosmetics, likely to save time so that enough cosmetics/charms can be loaded into both sides of the Rift before it's released. If they made more brand-new or relatively unique cosmetics, then it would be a lot harder to make all of the content necessary for it. Though I personally wouldn't mind if the variety of re-colored charms were ditched and the Rift maxed out at Tier 50 instead of 70.
Yes this is true. I understand that, wanting to make it inclusive. I'm sure it wouldn't be too harmful to even make a few new reskins for the focused characters tho? Lowkey I think that the free track should include the main character's new outfits that are relevant to their stories and that the paid track should have reskins, other new pieces, etc. I think that would be good. Free track is so pathetic right now but I guess that's the idea.

Interesting; I haven't seen anyone use those add-ons outside of when the devs tried to make the community more interested in them (the showcase was honestly a little embarrassing imo). Doesn't it mess up your ability to target survivors with your chain blink, or is it offset by the fact that you can just automatically shorten your blink by looking down? (I don't think that should be how The Nurse's blinks work in terms of balance, but my thoughts aren't shared by the developers).
If I'm being honest, I think you might have really liked some of her old add-on combos, and this is specifically the Jenner's Last Breath and Anxious Gasp combo which gave immense speed at the cost of charge time and a chain blink.
https://youtu.be/rZslszo9-cU?t=129
I'm not the best Nurse player, and I'm kind of blind at times, but I had fun especially with add-on combos like this (umm...ignore the NOED...I had a bad couple of matches when I recorded this last).
With her distance + insta chain blink add-ons, it becomes more of an alt ability than a change altogether! Her addon only lets her do the instant chain blink when a blink is fully charged, and the length addon increases charge duration so you have more time until it is fully charged. This way, you can basically perform a normal blink by charging it almost to max, but not all the way. Then, it allows you to chain blink on your own will. And then, if you do actually do a full blink, while you're teleporting you can still change your camera angle and thus the direction your chain blink will go. It's actually a really fun combo!
In terms of old add-ons, I don't know why, but I felt like it would mess with my memory while taking an addon so I never really did like using them on her old self. Although, that insane 5 blink nurse was SO fun at times. Or was it 7? I can't remember anymore. Also lol I love the note about NOED, atleast you recognize it as being something to not show off lol.
-
Call me crazy, but I LOVE her new add-ons. They don't mess with your muscle memory too hard, and they can create an entirely different playstyle. She's challenging with them! I love to bring the addon that makes her instantly chain-blink after a fully charged blink and also brink the tremendous range increase. That crossmap potential in one blink is insane.
I don't mind her charge to the power now, oddly, but I do wish that if she didn't fully get a charge back, the charge left would be kept rather than burnt.
But overall, I like her this way. Gives survivors a bit of time to think a way away from me while I wait for my charges so I can get that chain blink if needed.
-
Concept: Clown has an alt ability where he chugs a tonic, curls into a ball, and rolls around map at 200% speed. I think that's fair. Kidding please never make this.
-
I love the culture DBD has surrounding communication. 2 crouch for thank you. One for you're welcome (maybe). Point at gen to do it.
